Quick Develop Module Missing in LR5?

Hello,
I am using LR5 and my Quick Develop Module is missing. My photos are online and so this is not the problem. I rebooted but still no Quick Develop Module. I can use the other modules. Please help?

Quick Develop is in the Library Module, not the Develop Module (where it has always been).
If you don't see it in the Library Module, then you need to right-click on any right-panel header (like Keyword List) and select Quick Develop

  • Quick develop module doesn't show with cursor movement

Somehow, the little triangle that opens and closes the Quick Develop Module in my Library has become solid, so it no longer pops the menu open when I glide my cursor over to the right side of a full screen image. How do I get the Quick develop module triangle to have that shadow look again so that when I glide the cursor to it the module opens.
I must have changed this with a keystroke or something but for the life of me I cannot get it back and it's driving me crazy. I do not like the module open all the time and it's a pain to use the keystroke or click the triangle each time I need to make a quick adjustment. I hope this is not an upgrade change. I notice it is the same in my develop module.
Please help me get my little shadow back, ha.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

SaWEET! Thank you so much. Back in business!
    Thanks again,

  • Quick Develop Panel Missing

I'm using LR2.4 on both MacPro and a MacBook Pro.  On the latter my quick develop panel is just not there! (See screenshot below).
It's not closed (I usually work with auto close on my notebook), but not teher at all.  Any ideas how to reinstate it?
    Cheers

Thanks to you both.  Thought I knew LR pretty well, but that's a new one.

  • Lightroom 4: Massive BUG with White Balance / Quick Develop. Totally Unreliable!

I just recently updated from LR3 and just now found a massive bug concerning the white balance adjustments in the quick develop module.
After a studio shooting and especially after weddings I use the "make warmer" adjustment in the quick develop panel to give all (a few thousand NEFs) a nicer look all at once.
The great thing about this is - like all quick developments - that it increases the color temperature relative to each image's starting white balance.
Yesterday I wanted to edit my first wedding in LR4 and like in LR3 applied one click "make warmer" to all images at once (previously WB was "as shot").
While I browsed through the images to rate them I noticed some of them were very "pinkish".
After closer inspection it came out that a lot of images (50%-60%) had the following custom WB set: 5316, Tint: +10.
It is always this exact combination no matter what the "as shot" WB was.
That setting of course applies way too much magenta to a lot of images.
After resetting the WB of single images to "as shot" and selecting "make warmer" once again the images look fine and get appropriate WB values.
But every time I select more than one image to apply "make warmer" a lot of them get the strange value of 5316 and +10.
Sometimes it's even just the first few images of the selection that get correct values and all the following ones get the off value. It appears to be totally random.
I tried completely resetting all images prior to "make warmer", setting them to different camera profiles first and even switched them to Process 2010 again. But absolutely no luck!  :-(
The "make warmer" tool gives me totally unusable results.
I find it strange, that I couldn't find anything about that on the net.
    PLEASE fix this ASAP.
To apply WB to thousands of images individually is a real pain.
I would be glad to support you fixing the issue.
    My setup:
    Nikon D700
    Nikon D300s
(Both cameras affected, I only shoot NEF)
    Win7 x64
LR4.1 as well as LR4.2 RC

    @ssprengel
I get your point but that is exactly my problem.
Not only is there no pattern but also once I reset a file that got 5316+10 to "as shot" and select "make warmer" for it again it does get the correct value! As long as I select it as a single file without others.
So just to simplify my findings and explain what I have been doing all night:
    - SELECT 5 files in Library View (all freshly imported, no settings altered, WB "as shot")
    File 1: 5700 / -8
    File 2: 5500 / -8
    File 3: 5550 / -8
    File 4: 5450 / -6
    File 5: 5500 / -7
    - CLICK "make warmer" once
    Result:
    File 1: 6089 / -8
    File 2: 5867 / -8
    File 3: 5316 / +10
    File 4: 5316 / +10
    File 5: 5316 / +10
    1 and 2 are okay!
    - SELECT 3-5
    - RESET THEM
    Result:
    File 3: 5550 / -8
    File 4: 5450 / -6
    File 5: 5500 / -7
    - CLICK "make warmer" again
    Result:
    File 3: 5316 / +10
    File 4: 5812 / -6
    File 5: 5867 / -7
File 4 and 5 are okay!
    - SELECT File 3 again
    - RESET IT
    - CLICK "make warmer"
    Result:
    File 3: 5923 / -8
now File 3 is okay, too.
    It is completely random!
But that is no way to work, of course.
I have two weddings from last week and am going nuts already.

  • Histogram Edit Delay in Develop Module in LR5.2

    Hello Everyone!
I have been using Lightroom from version 4 without any issues. I have updated to LR5 and love the app, but I have problem in the develop module.
I load a RAW file pretty quickly and every edit I make on the photo is very quick, apart from the Histogram. For every image the histogram is loaded istantly, however I cannot do any modification for the first 4/5 seconds.
When having to deal with large amount of images (I shoot weddings and events as well), multiplying 500 images for 5 seconds means 45 minutes lost.
My machine performs well and I have no other slowdowns.
Anyone with a possible solution? This is driving me crazy!
    Carlo

    Bob,
You have me at a disadvantage because other than "Undo" I know of no way to "clear" individual edits in an image. Sure you can step back in History, but that clears everything above it in the stack. If you mean Undo then be aware that it applies to module changes, ratings, image switching, labels, etc etc etc etc So, Undo is worse than useless for removing History steps.
Something worth mentioning because it obvious from some previous posts that some folk don't appear to understand what it is they are looking at in History or how it works:
Left column = actual adjustment applied to parameter by step
Right column = running sum of step adjustments to parameter
In practice this means (left column value):
    Step 1 Exposure = -5
    Step 2 Blacks = +8
    Step 3 Fill = +4
    Step 4 = Exposure = +2
    Step 5 Black = -5
Will result (right column) in the following being applied to image on rendering:
    Exposure = -3
    Fill = +4
    Blacks = +3
Edit: i.e. the final slider positions.
Based on above I'm not sure of the benefit of allowing one to remove a history step when all that's needed is to dial it out at the top of the stack.
Furthermore, it doesn't matter the sequence that you apply the edits because it's the
    total for each
parameter that's applied to the render, the final psd, tiffs will be identical irrespective of the order in each adjustment is applied.
BTW: all above is easily confirmed by looking at the ACR outputs as displayed in Bridge.
Pixel editing and Parametric editing are
    different

  • How can I quickly configure & save different views in Develop module?

Is there a method to quicky switch custom views (including my favourite selections for Panels, Toolbars, Window's Bars, and Info Overlay)?
In the "Develop" module, I would like to switch quickly from (1) seeing all panels, etc. to (2) seeing only my image and the right-side panel.  There must be a better procedure than what I do now (please don't laugh).  I use about six keystrokes as shown below:
    (a) turn off top, left-side, and bottom Panels by clicking each individually,
    (b) press the "t" key to turn off the Toolbar,
    (c) press the "f" key to turn off Window's two top bars and one bottom bar, and
    (d) press the [Ctrl-i] key combo to turn off the Info Overlay.
At other times in the "Develop" module, I use about six keystrokes to turn all these hidden objects back on!
I am using "Lightroom 2.5" with Windows Vista Home Premium.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you, johnbeardy, for your suggestion of "Solo Mode".  Checking "Help" for "Solo", I discovered the Windows\Screen Mode menu for the 1st time -- it helps.  While right-clicking the panels, I also found "Sync with Opposite Panel" which allows me to turn both the top and bottom panels On or Off with only one click.  (the LR book that I use doesn't cover these items).
However, I have not yet benefited form "Solo Mode".  I turned it On for both left and right panels, but it doesn't appear to make any difference, even after I closed and re-opened LR.  Is there something else I need to set to make "Solo" work?  Is it applicable for only the left and right panels?

  • I purchased standalone LR5 in December 2014 and installed on home computer.  I have a mobile home with a 2nd laptop and installed       on this one also.  However, I now get a message saying that the Develop module is disabled and I need to renew membersh

Can anyone help me understand why the Develop module on my 2nd laptop is disabled and asking me to renew membership to reactive.  I have a standalone LR5 which I purchased in December 2014 on the Windows platform.  My 2nd laptop is in a different location to my home laptop and is in my holiday home where I would like to work on my photos when I am away from home.

thanks for replying.  I purchased online from Adobe and they sent a confirmation email with order number and serial no along with the instructions for downloading. There was no indication at purchase that renewing membership was needed at any time and it's only 3 months since purchase. I have just returned home from my holiday home and checked my home laptop (primary and first installation) and all modules still enabled !!  As far as I understand I am able to install twice as long as not operating both at once. This would be impossible as holiday home with laptop no 2 is 60 miles away. When I installed on no 2, i opened the order email and was able to use the serial no again. Now however it is greyed out. I don't want the cloud version and hope this is not what I have.
UPDATE 1 April 2015-   I have checked the system info in Lightroom on my first laptop installation (home) and it is definitely a perpetual licence.  I downloaded what I thought was my 2nd allowed download on my holiday home laptop using the original email instructions and serial number.  I checked the system info on this download and it was it is a cloud version!!!!  This doesn't make sense - anyone out there - can I download to 2 laptops in 2 different locations with a perpetual licence??

  • LR5 upgraded catalog is only giving LR4 Develop module options - help!

After a successful upgrade to LR5 from LR4 on an old catalog I'm encountering an unusual situation:
when I use the Develop module the palette options are not LR5.
Instead of Shadows, for example, my LR5 catalog is showing Recover and Fill Light from LR4.
I'm working on a MacPro tower and the catalog in question is on an external hard drive.
I've checked the upgrade status and it is definitely a LR5 upgraded catalog.
I've upgraded many catalogs over the years from LR1 to now and this is the first time I've
    seen this issue.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

You are working with images that were processed with an older version of Lightroom and process 2010. Lightroom honors those previous adjustments and retains the 2010 process. To change to the new 2012 process go to the calibration tab in the develop module and make the appropriate choice.

I'm having trouble with the develop module in LR5.4. Any adjustments are taking effect, but only viewable in the filmstrip, not on the main photo. The navigator will go grey, as does the main area too. This applies to all edits done in develop module. I have posted several times on the forum with no responses to address this, and have seen others with the same issue. I have even gone as far as to do a complete re-install of LR5, with no success. I'm at a loss, and I depend on it for so much editing. Please help.

Reset your preferences file: Resetting (or 'Trashing') the Lightroom Preferences file - Lightroom Forums

  • Library Module - Quick Develop Panel

    Hi,
I was really hoping that the Quick Develop panel in the Library Module which I sometimes use if there are minor touchups needed to a photo would have been redesigned to more closely resemble and work like the Basic panel in the Develop Module.  Certainly sliders instead of those arrow buttons would be a very useful change.
I'm pretty sure that this has been a popular enhancement request.  Does anyone know why this wans't changed?
    Thanks,
    Eli

  • Missing controls in Develop module - crop etc

They were there a couple of days ago but for the last few sessions the group of controls (including crop etc) that sit under the main image in the Develop module have gone missing.
I've been playing with the 'view' options without success and it seems that they are not coming back of their own volition.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Scott Hortop

Thanks - I tried options on the view menu but missed the obvious one at the top.

  • Red splotches on photos in LR5 Develop Module

I get red and blue splotches on photos in LR5 Develop Module. Seems to be mainly in bright areas of photos. Not there in Library module. I noticed this in the Beta as well but thought it would be fixed before release. In LR4.4 everything is fine.

Turn the clipping indicators off in the Histogram in the develop module.  The are the little triangles in the upper left and right corners of the histogram.

  • LR5: Moving develop module sliders blurs the image for a moment

I'm evaluating Lightroom 5 during the 30 day trial and it's all cool except for this one big annoyance that I noticed immediately when trying to work on an image in Develop module. As stated in the title, moving any slider (exposure, highlights, noise reduction, etc.) causes the image to go very blurry for the duration of the slider movement. It goes immediately back to being sharp as soon as I stop moving the slider. This is super annoying, feels as though my eyes are going bad.
What's interesting is that the problem doesn't show up when I'm adjusting the Tone Curve directly, but it will get triggered if I'll expand and use the sliders underneath. So looks like a bug that only applies to sliders.
This doesn't happen at all in Lightroom 4.4, which I still have installed and can compare side-by-side.
As for the hardware, I'm using the 2013 Macbook Air with 1.3 GHz i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. The OS X version is 10.8.4 with all latest upgrades installed.
I've already tried optimizing the catalog, giving it more space (currently at 3 GB) and purging it. I'm not using Smart Previews, although I've turned them on for a moment to see if the problem persists with them on - it does. I've also re-rendered the 1:1 preview for the specific image I've been trying it on. Btw, the file is a NEF from Nikon D300 and I'm using the 2012 process (as was the case with LR4). Not sure what else might be relevant here.

If this is indeed intentional, is there any way to turn it off? I would much rather it had taken a bit longer to update the photo, than to have the image switch to this "pixel doubled" version.
Also, this doesn't happen at all in LR 4.4 on the same machine. However, if it indeed isn't a bug, this probably means LR5 requires more resources to process a photo than 4.4. This would be somewhat disappointing, given that LR5 was supposed to be faster than its predecessor.
