Quick load video question

Can you load a .wmv file type external video into a loader
component or a video object?
I'd like to do it without creating an .swf for each video.
This will be played back locally not sent to a server for web
use.
any idea if this is possible?
I've tried looking in help but not finding what I need. Could
be searching for the word though.
thanks,
sky

  • Load video question

    Hi there,
Im new in the flash/as3 field and im trying to use a video in my website...
i've read lots of tut and i've tried many techniques...
On my computer everything seems to work fine but everytime im loading the files to the server, i can see the video ..
Basiclly what i am trying to do is load a very simple video with the video component - nothing fancy, just not embaded ..
can any1 please help me and tell me how to do it ??
    thanks .

im identifying the source through the property inspector, not via as3 ..
it should be very very simple ... and for the path i've used video/myvideo.flv format and i've tried http://galderen.com/video/myvideo.flv format and im getting the same rersult in both ..
i'll desribe what i've done from the beginning cuz its very simple ( maybe too simple ) :
import video > selecting skin > uploading the .flv , .swf X 2, .html > and that it ..
maybe im not doing something right ..
but the weird part is that when im riunning the file from the ftp server its working, but when im running it from the net, im getting that strange result ..

  • Quick Export Video Question

    Hi.
When exporting video, under the compressor tab, if you select "None", does it output the video as "lossless"? Thanks

JIM i must correct you on this one, and hexcode99, you should look at this: this comes from my other post at '
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?53@@.59b7bec1/30'
My conclusion is that None is not lossless, in fact it is the same as PlanarRGB and None takes so much more space than it. This is rendering from a AVCHD sony camcorder hdr-sr12
'After comparing many codecs, here are my results(click on them and compare them with your browser tabs):
    ProRes422
    ProRes422(HQ)
    Apple None
    Animation
    Planar RGB
    and the original footage: AVCHD
As you may notice, planarRGB and None look exactly the same pixel by pixel. Animation just looks screwed up.'

  • Errors in loading video such as in Youtube and other sites that uses Adobe Flash Player, even I updated the program.

You did not supply much information with your question:
#In Add-ons > Plugins, do you see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''"? If not, Flash is not installed for Firefox; see below
#You can test Flash on this Adobe page: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

    Hi Mylenium,
    upfront:
I hope I won't be marked as spam now, since I am posting on a few relevant discussions now to this topic.
However, I really would like to ask the people who have experienced this problem to see if they were able to solve it.
    Now the real deal:
I posted a question in this discussionDynamicLink Media Server won't let me import video for video frames to layers anymore.
The linked discussion is a lot younger, which is why I posted there first.
I also put in information on the steps that I have tried and my computer specifications.
I am experiencing this problem for a while now and hope you and jones1351may be able to help out.

  • IPod will not load videos or purchases.

I received my black 30gb video iPod for Christmas. When I opened the box everything seemed to work fine. The click wheel seemed a little laggy but I just dismissed it as a design flaw.
Having been without a working iPod for almost 6 months I was eager to transfer all of my music to it. When I connected it to my Macbook Pro and began the instructional process, I was informed with the following error message with something along the lines of:
“Some songs won't transfer to your iPod because your iPod software is too old.”
Now, seeing as I was about to embark on an eight-hour drive to my college campus, I was in no position to seek a resolution to my dilemma. It is only now that I am able to fully devote myself to the problem.
    The Problem
I have two computers, my Macbook Pro and a PC I built two summers ago. When I first received the error message, my first reaction was to update it. However, both the "Update" and "Restore" features are grayed out when I plug my iPod into my Mac. This prevents me from updating it or restoring it in any form on OS X.
Next I looked at the "About" feature under my iPod's settings and noticed that the iPod was configured for Windows. We did not intentionally buy an iPod formatted for Windows nor had we plugged it into a Windows oriented computer prior to opening it. The fact that it came to me already a slave to Windows didn’t bother me since I know that a Windows iPod can be read by both OS X and XP, but the fact that I could not update or restore my iPod still bothered me.
I plugged the iPod into my Windows computer to try to update it. I did to my surprise find an update but when I tried to plug it back into my Mac, I still received the same error. I even tried to reformat the iPod.
I have the most recent versions of Quicktime, iTunes, and iPod software known to me.
    Quicktime Player Pro 7.1.3
    iTunes 7.0.2
    iPod Software 1.2.1
None of my purchased music or videos will transfer. It is also interesting to note that podcasts, and self-loaded videos will ALSO not transfer to the iPod.
If there is any other information (including screenshots) that I can provide, please let me know as I would be more than willing to obtain them.
    -Thanks

yes itunes can convert movies into ipod playable format. to do this you have to do the following below
1)add the file you want to convert to the itunes library( file->add file to library)
    2) once you added the file right click on the file and select covert selection for ipod
    3) this will start the conversion and when thats done you will be able to load the videos onto your ipod.
mpg is not a playable format for the ipod. the videos have to be in quick time format.
but i wont advise you to use itunes to convert your videos. it takes too long when converting. try using a third party conversion programme like videora there are others try googling them
    hope that helps

  • Problem loading videos to my Ipod Touch

    Hi
I wonder if there is a possibility someone could point me in the direction of a step by step tutorial on loading videos to my Touch.
I've already successfully loaded several albums of mp3s.
However I just cannot get videos on there at all.
I have converted them to the correct format ( mp4) yet cannot either drag and drop them, nor load them by using the options add new folder / add to playlist.
If someone could advise of the process step by step I would be grateful.

OK, first a few questions, because not all mp4 files are the same, at least as far as the iPod is concerned.
When you have iTunes up, and you click on Movies in the upper left hand corner you should get a list of movie files (these files should be located in My Documents at that level, not in subfolders). Do you see the name of the video there? If not, try under File to "Add file to library ..." Does it do it? If not, you don't have the right type of mp4 file. If it does, but when syncing it complains it can't find it, you need to click on it and then under Advanced select "convert to ipod."

  • Quick load jar files?

I have an application that uses a bunch of .jar files (BIRT framework for eclipse). The first time I run this application I takes almost forever, but the second time it runs very fast. I assume its because all the jarfiles are loaded the first time. But is it possible to create a quick loader of some kind that loads the program before its actually run the first time?

You have to make a URLClassloader that points to inside the JAR files. GThis question has come up several times in the past week, so a quick search will provide a couple of working solutions.
Note that if you plan on calling methods from classes in the plugin jars, they should either implement an interface or extend an class that you know and can import during compile time, or provide some method of identifying what method needs to run and what that method's arguments are so that you can use reflection.
I belive these things are also alluded to in the recent threads.

  • . Can't watch or load videos from sd card

I have a HP desktop I purchased in 2009. I have alway been able to load pictures from my camera with no problem, but recently I have been trying to watch and load videos from my sons cell sd card. It will not let me watch or load them. All I get is  "Photo gallery can't open pictures or videos - file format not supported - you don't have updates to photo gallery". I run windows vista. I really need some help with this. I have tried to look for updates to fix this but have not found any ------ please help!

    Hello t48,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues viewing files from your son's phone, yet you are able to view files from your camera no problem. I would suspect that this is a difference in software technology and would recommend that you go to the manufacturer of the phone's website and look for their support forums for a solution. I believe you will need to download a program or codex to enable yourself to view the files in the format that they are currently in and that would be the place to look for which.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

IDM can't straight download loaded video from mozilla cache file

It might be. Not sure. Mainly because I never paid attention to those animal names.
Unfortunately, I can't see your question from this screen . . . but I think you asked if clicking with the mouse got any response. The answer is: None at all. I've tried clicking on the right, left and center of the mouse, but it just sits there, like the lump of plastic that it is. But only when it comes to individual graphic images.
The really frustrating part of all this is that I know I am doing exactly what is needed to download. i did it with no problems at all for years, before launching Safari, and still have no problem whatsoever downloading e-mail attachments. And as long as the website I'm visiting recognizes my current version of Internet Explorer, I don't have problems on my other Mac either. Sure wish I knew why.
