Quick Office on the XOOM

Earlier today I opened an excel spreadsheet from an email. When I clicked on the file it asked which app I wanted to use, documents-to-go or quick office. I choose quick office and was able to read the excel spreadsheet with no problem. However I do have a problem. No where is there an icon for quick office in my list of available applications. Without an icon I can't open the application. Quck office is not listed in my list of installed applications but it does show up in my manage applications list.
How do I execute open office on my xoom if it does not show up as an installed application?
Thanks

Hello,
When you first logged in to your Gmail account on your
tablet, you were automatically given access to the
same personal information (emails, events, and
contacts) that you have on a computer using Gmail,
Google Calendar™, and Contacts.
If you use Microsoft Office Outlook on your work
computer, your tablet can synchronize emails, events,
and contacts with your Microsoft Exchange server.
To automatically sync your applications data, touch
> Settings > Accounts & sync > Add
account > Auto-sync.
To select which apps to synchronize:
1 Touch > Settings > Accounts & sync
> Add account.
2 If necessary, touch Auto-sync to turn it off.
3 Touch an account under Manage accounts to see its
list of apps.
4 Touch the apps you don’t want to synchronize, like
Calendar, Contacts, or Email.

What do you think about Quick Office for the IPad

You could also have a look at the following www.rollapp.com, I have only recently found it.
You have access to the full OpenOffice and LibreOffice library of program's  and it syncs with Dropbox, google docs and others.
You do require an Internet connection as it is cloud based.
At present I have only used it for quick editing but I think it definitely looks promising and it is free

  • Quick Office and the N8

1- From the pre-release information about the N8, I was under the impression that Quick Office was a free program.  However, when I want to make a new document it requires a purchased registration.  I have registered the PDF app that comes with the telephone which is free.  One of the advantages touted was the ability to make and edit word, text, excel, and power point documents.  Why can we not do it now that we own the telephone?
2- Another issue concerns the playing of .mpg files.  The pre-release documentation said that this telephone could play just about any media file that existed.  Mine for one, cannot play .mpg files which is one of the most available formats in existence.  Is there a program that we can load that will make this telephone play .mpg files?  I know one can convert them to other file extensions, but that is a pain.
    Thank you.

Why don't you ask Quickoffice support.

  • Why is Docs to go allowed to be sold as being able to function on IPAD3. The columns were blleding into the next column header and could not be accessed. Going into one cell gave me the forumula 4 cells down. Absolute rubbish. Moved to Quick Office PRO HD

I purchased Docs to GO Premium as it was suppose to work on IPAD 3. On loading a spreadsheet the columns under the header columns (ABC etc) started to blled into the next column. It does not work on IPad 3.
I swithced to Quick Office Pro HD. Absolutely fantastic App. I would love to get my money back for Docs to Go Prem (Rubbish)

  • Office for the Mac - file open slowness, freeze, or crash

When I select the File - Open window, any of the Office programs take a few minutes to display all of my files in the Documents folder. When they are finally displayed, any attempt to scroll through the list or go to a specific file results in the Mac's spinning wheel being displayed. Quite often, nothing happens after the wheel stops spinning. Sometimes, it just continues to spin. Consequently, it is almost impossible to use the File - Open window in Office to select a file to open. The only way I can do so is to use Finder to display my files in the Documents folder and then selecting them in that program's File - Open window.
When the wheel is spinning, Force Quit says that the specific Office program being used is "not responding." Usually, I use Force Quit to close down the Office program if it has frozen, crashed, or been slow using the File Open window.
I spent an hour yesterday with Microsoft Support on the problem. The conclusion of the tech was that I had too many files in my Documents folder. I pointed out that other programs such as FileMaker Pro didn't have this problem. The tech's response was that Office has to scan the entire Documents folder every time the File Open window is opened, but that FileMaker Pro stores a list of the last files in the Documents folder and doesn't rebuild the list every time.
I am skeptical of this "answer." The problem didn't exist until a few months ago.
My computer is a MacBook Pro 2.3gHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive which has about 500GB free. This is a fairly fast machine with a Geekspeed of 10688. I was running the latest Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.1. The problem first surfaced with Office for the Mac 2008 about 3-4 months ago running Mac OS 10.10.1. I installed Office 365 yesterday, and and Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.2 today, and nothing changed.
The only solution that I know of is to take a lot of time to segregate my files in the Documents folder into more subfolders (I already have quite a few). That I am loath to do, because the solution doesn't work very well. It takes about a minute to select a subfolder in the File Open window, and then about another 30 seconds before Office allows me to scroll through a relatively small number of files (e.g., 100 files) in the subfolder.
When this question was posted to the Microsoft Community, I was directed to an article talking about problems with Office and Mac OS. None of the solutions worked, probably because the article considered only Office X and Office 2004 for the Mac and OS 10.2 and 10.3.
    Help, please!

    1) Verify that Office is fully updated. v14.4.7
    2) I suggest you run Font Book and vailidate your Fonts. Microsoft installs duplicate fonts and after you clean up your fonts, this has often fixed odd issues with Office.
Office 2011 Duplicate Fonts to Delete
    3) Delete the com.apple.LaunchServices file in your User's Library/Preferences folder. Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar and test. More info
    If this fails to fix....
Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.
Put a few test files in the Shared folder. Data in the Shared folder can be accessed by another User. When you "Switch Users", you can access the files in the shared folder. After you log into the new test User, drag from Shared (it actually copies). Put the test files in Documents.
Open Word. It won’t be in the Dock in the new User. Go to Applications to open.
Do you still see the issue?
If yes, you can eliminate the number of files in your Documents folder.
If no, then you might want to do a clean up in Documents.
*Remember to drag files back from Shared when you log into your main User.

  • How access my files/ folder from Quick Office and from other applications

    Hi
I was a HTC user, and recently i decided to purchase the iphone 3Gs from Rogers and I end up with a frustration and helpless. First thing that I notice that there is no built-in application for editing the Excel & Word documents. Then I purchased quick office and realize that there is no way to copy over the documents to iphone. Way the quick office wants to upload the file is not workable because it offer to upload one by one.
Then I purchased another application WIFI FPT and i was very happy that now I can upload my folders very quickly and then I end up again with great frustration that quick office can’t see that folders that I upload with FTP.
I am very disappointed and frustrated, if apple want to make it really workable for business then they have to create a users area/space where users can copy their stuff quickly and all application can navigate in that area. So in this way we can access all of our data from any application.
I hope that some one will take it seriously and help me/us to work with this phone. I never spent a penny for HTC to work with my documents and after I purchased this dam thing I spend almost $40 for all different kind of application and I am still unable to use it for my daily work.

Research before the purchase would have helped. This has never been a feature of iphone. You have always needed an App in order to accomplish this.
You can leave feedback for Apple at:

  • Quick Office for Word docs with tracking

Can I use Quick Office for iPad to view Word docs and see the tracking changes? I don't think so, but thought I'd ask. I did a search and didn't see this posted but I could have missed it. If I did, apologies for the redundancy.

From what I've read on here, none of the Office apps are able to track changes.

  • Quick Office in C6-00

    Hi
Could you please tell us why Quick Office software which is pre installed in Nokia C6-00 is only trail version.. but you guys were already given full version for Eseries and Nseries mobile and even it was installed full version of quick office for less cost mobile than C6. Could you do anything for this.

Had the same issue, and at present the Quickoffice can be only used as a viewer as it is installed in the firmware that way.  I ended up buying the Mobile Office from the OVI Store, which includes editing and file creation in Word and Excel.  It only lets you view Power Point like Quick office though.  I would recommend you view Power Point with QuickOffice though as it shows everything as was intended, and Mobile office just gives a basic white on black background to the slides.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do i get quick office doc to adobe reader

Docs from quick office to adobe reader?

Install Dropbox on your iOS device. Open the PDF in your Dropbox account in Dropbox app. Click the Share button and choose Open In... and select Adobe Reader.

  • Quick Office

Quick Office is it worth registering .I Know I tried to download a pdf file from email on my phone went directly to the registration screen. I know the pdf reader might be handy but how about the rest?. I don't think I'm going to use the DX for word processing. I'll just resort to the computer and MS Office..

I can see where it could come in handy when traveling with the X.  I believe airline boarding passes download as .pdf files and wlith Printer Share could print out to a nearby wilreless printer.  Anyone tried that?

  • Quick office or ms office for C503?

I cannot read Word, Excel and other do documents with my new C503. "This phone does not support... I thought Quick Office was preloaded. Where can I get it the easiest way? Can it be loaded at all?

I know Quick Office can be found on OVI but it looks like it is impossible to load and to use it with my C503. I was not told this when I bought it but "not telling is not cheating  I guess"? I had an E71 which I had to replace after only three years. I thought the C503 would be a "light" alternative and it is otherwise but I cannot read my documents which is annoying.

  • Quick office excel files recognized as virus by No...

When I try to transfer the quick office files created on my phone to my laptop, Norton 2011 (NIS 2011) installed therein identifies these files as heuristic viruses and blocks 'em. I have brought down the heuristic detection settings to normal from agressive on NIS 2011 settings but the problem seems to persist. Anyone else facing the same problem??? Admins/ Mods any solution to this?

If you've not already, you should contact Norton about this false positive and check the quickoffice and norton forums to see if anyone else has had this issue.

  • Photo editor, pdf reader and quick office lost afte...

photo editor, pdf reader and quick office lost after hard reset. I have reinstalled 2 times the software but the same resut got. What can i do now.? I have nokia c7 arm 675

    Hi bob7996,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum.
Please use the forum search function before posting, often your question will have been asked and answered before so you will get your answer straight away. Please see the forum guidelines on posting if your have any questions on this.
How did you reset your C7? If you used any other way to reset but the *#7370# code you probably used a reset which is reserved for Nokia Care Centres which involves pressing a specific combination of hardware buttons.
This reset is used to get a phone back on when it wont' start normally but will remove a number of files form the device which are not installed by the updates available to you as an end user of the device.
In this case you'd have to visit a Nokia Care Point where the device can be rewritten at lower level including these files. This will completely erase all content from the device so make sure you have a backup of your personal data made in Nokia Suite before you do this.
    Hope this helps,
    Kosh

  • Unable to download Quick Office & Adobe Reader

I'm unable to download the Quick office and adobe reader for download section. After downloading it shows 'File Currupted'. Can any body help me to download these software without any extra cost.

i think you should format your phone
just backup your phone data and remove the memory card
    and format the phone
after that try to install the adobe reader and quick office
DO NOT FORMAT THE PHONE AND THE MEMORY INSIDE IT
    REMOVE THE MEMORY BEFORE FORMATTING.
