Quick poll functionality for 10 questions

Hi SDN Guru's,
I have seen quick poll functionality for one question followed by answers,
but i have a reauirement to have instant survey of 5 or 10 questions and get the poll is this possible with the current quickpoll if not how can we do that.
please provide suggestions , alternatives workarounds

Hi,
Quick Poll as name suggests is for simple and faster polls. So by default, it is meant to have one question only.
1) If you want many questions, then you may have to create some JSP application for it and make it an iView.
2) There is also option for using many campaigns, each campaign for each question. That way all the questions will be visible at the same time. But I'll not suggest it if all questions are based on same topic. In that case, only custom application will be better.

IPhone: Recommendation to Apple for a quick pause function for iPod

First of all, we love our new iPhone, as it has been a lifesaver and helps us efficiently use our time. However, there is one issue that I hope would get resolved: if I listen to music on the phone's iPod function while performing other tasks (type an email, browse the web, etc.), if someone interrupts me and I need to quickly pause the music, I have to 1) hit the home button, 2) hit the iPod button and then 3) hit the pause button on the currently playing song.
Instead of having to perform three steps, I recommend that Apple updates the software to have a "quick pause" button that would be placed at the top of the iPhone screen in the same way that one would see the green bar at the top of the screen while on a telephone call and performing other iPhone tasks. This would give users one quick and easy way to pause the music that is playing on the iPod!

Quick answer needed for fan question!

OK, I have read all the threads on the fan noise and downloaded XRG 1.1 to check my fan speeds. As I surmised, my fans appear to be running too fast (at all times). Here are the details.
CPU between 5% and 10%
CPU temp 120 degrees
Hard Drive 130 degrees
CPU fan 4400 rpm
Hard Drive fan 6000 rpm
System fan 4000 rpm
Do I need to reset the nvram? does this include having to pop the back off and reset 2 switches as I read on another post? any other suggestions?

Yes it's an original 20" iMac G5. I ordered it the week they were announced, and have an extra 512MB ram in there to bring the total up to 768MB. I know the fans will run faster and louder than they are now, because when I updated some firmware (for the little power light at the front) the fans ran at the default highest speeds and I almost thought the computer was actually going to fly away.
After putting the processor back to "automatic" and putting the computer to sleep for the night, when I brought it back up this morning the fans were in the 3000 range. Quiet. Amazing what 1000rpm can do. After running Safari and Mail for an hour or so, the fans are back up to the ranges I posted in my first post... not the fastest, but definately noticeable from across the room. Temperature and CPU loads never really changed much although the fan noise did.
Since the fans did start at a lower speed and then move higher, does this mean that the "button" reset inside will not work? or should i just go ahead and try? not really wanting to crack open the back if it is pointless...

Quick Polls are not shown

Hi,
we have a problem with the quick poll functionality.
After creating a qick poll and activating it, it is not shown in the user's start page. When editing the poll, the quick poll is shown in preview mode and it is also possible to do a voting.
What can we do?

Hi Thomas,
check, if you Quick Poll is saved in the KM folder "/documents/QuickPoll". If it is not you have to change the properties of that iView for that startpage. Check also the name of the campaign in that iView and in the Quick Pole you have create that they are all the same.
You can find it in the PCD under Portal User/Standard Portal Users/ Standard Userrole. Edit that role to check and to edit this belonged iView.

Automatic reset of Quick Poll

Hi you all!
We are going to implement the Quick Poll iView in our local Portal as a tool to decide where to go for lunch. I know, not the most exciting use for it, but it will come in handy for us since we are located in different part of our town. And it will hopefully also raise the use of the portal
But there is this one problem: how do you make the poll reset itself automatically like, say, every midnight? Is there a way to do this?

you can use scheduler for this type of work just use quick poll administrator iview for scheduling and quick poll iview for end user .hope this will help you just a work arround both this iviews are available in content provided by SAp/specialist/com.sap.km ..../iviews.just have a work arround.

Building a "Quick Reply" plugin for Mac Mail???

Anyone know where I can find someone to develop a plugin for Mountain Lion Mail that replicates the "Quick Reply" feature from Sparrow mail? (ref: http://michaelwender.com/blog/2012/07/18/sparrow-mail-app-quick-reply-is-my-favo rite-feature/)
Anyone even know if it's feasible/possible? Not sure why Apple isn't all over this one, but it probably violates some usability Zen law or something. I happen to really like it. Anything that makes me FASTER on email is good.

I couldn't agree more, with everything you said. Sparrow has been bought by Google and development ceased. www.fluent.io looked even better, but they've just shut down. I think even Microsoft at www.Outlook.com have the same thing.
We really need this Quick Reply functionality for Apple Mail. And integration of Facebook into the same 'news feed' style presentation of emails. It's the way ahead. Apple need to be all over this.

Quick poll IView

Hello SDNers,
I am in the phase of creating Quick poll IView for portal frontpage/Homepage(newly created role).
My concern is, how can I make Quick poll more beutifull like setting the background color of QP or something more innovative.
Other concern would be, I want to provide the Quick poll IView in only frontpage just below to detailed navigation position. Will it be possible ?
Finally when I created the Quick poll using Quick poll administration in Content management, >>>> then created the KM QP IView under Content administration by assigning the compaign Name to be used >>>> assigned to desktop inner pages.
Now, the QP IView doesn't allows me to vote. Only it shows the results
Please, provide me solution where I went wrong ? Appreciate your time and valuable inputs.

Through customize u can achieve ur requirement..
Create two Quickpoll with different campaign name and start ongoing..
Next create iview for each quickpoll by using KM QuickPoll iView Template enter the corresponding campaign name for the quickpoll iview.
Next create one JspDynPage component in NWDS
In that JSP file

Now u create one iview for that JspDynPage component
in that two Quickpoll question will display in one iView..

I just purchased Quick Time 7 for my pc, am I able to use this single purchase to put it on my other 2 pc's or do I need to buy all new license software for each?

How to create Support function for internal Class use

I have created a class to find the MoonRise and Set time. There is a java code available and I am translating it to Obj-C.
My problem is that for the calculation there are many support functions which is internally used. When I try to duplicate this as follows

Well, Objective-C is a superset of C. If you're porting Java, you'll find protocols (ObjC) similar to interfaces (Java).

Accessing Quick poll iView though anonymous users

Hi all,
I have created a quick poll and i want to assign this poll to anonymous users only, so i have put the user "Anonymous" to Participants.
After that i have put the Campaign name to Content Admin. >> Content Provided By SAP >> End User Content >> Standard User >> Iviews >> com.sap.km.iviews-->Quick Poll Iview property : Campaign to be used.
And set the Quick Poll Iview authetication scheme to anonymous.
But while accessing the iview from home page its displaying the login page , and after login i am able th view my poll.
I want to display the view in home page to anonymous users only.
Could you please tell me where exactly I have gone wrong?

To Create Quick Poll

1) If you want to create Quick Poll in Knowledge Management then you should
have 2 roles assigned to you i.e. eu_role and content management.
2) To assign those roles go to User Management and assign to your User or can ask the Sys Admin to do it.
3) You will see New Worksetu2019s assigned to you in the Portal
a) Content Administrator and
b) Home
4) Go to Content Management ? Quick Poll Administrator
5) You will find a New button. Click it
6) Give the Following Details
a) New ? Give some name to the Poll you are conducting.
b) Campaign ? Create a New Campaign or use the existing campaign.
c) Question ? Post some Question
d) Responses ? Give one response per line like yes, no, canu2019t say.
e) Result Availability ? Select the appropriate radio button.
7) There are different options to beautify the Poll create, check the Tabu2019s above the poll create.
You can change the Image, Layout, Result Display, Participants, Schedule and Comment.
8) Now that you have created the Poll, you have to activate the Poll.
9) Go to Content Administration
10) Go to Portal Content ? Right Side panel you click Portal Content.
11) Under that you will have a folder u201CContent Provided by SAPu201D. Click it.
12) Find u201CEnd User Contentu201D .Click it.
13) Find u201CStandard Portal Useru2019su2019. Click it

How to create the poll functionality to place into the site. I am using struts and XML file to store the data. We should able to view the result of the poll in horizontal bar graph.

Quick Poll translation

Hello,
I am facing a problem with Quick Poll iviews translations. I want to translate them to Spanish-English and viceversa, but i am only able to translate the button ("Vote" change to "Votar"). The rest of the iview (question and answer) doesn't change. Is there a way to translate this?

Hi Laura,
As far as I am aware you cannot do what you want to in this case. The button will translate OK as you have seen (this is standard portal functionality), but the actual content of the iView (the questions and answers) will not. I am afraid that this is by design and the feature of creating the same poll in multiple languages is not possible. You would have to create two polls, one in Spanish and one in English. Or write some custom code to do what you want.
This is probably not the answer you wanted but I think it is correct. Of course would love to be proved wrong and learn something new too

Room Quick Poll iView ?

Dear all,
I'm trying to create a quick poll for a collaboration room. To do this (in EP 6.0.2.3.7) I need to set the campaign of the Rook Quick Poll iView. I found the standard Room Quick Poll iView and changed the campaign accordingly. Unfortunately, it was not the right iView. My question is:
Where do I find the Room Quick Poll iViews of my collaboration rooms?

Under Content Administration, go to Portal Content -> com.sap.ip.collaboration -> Template Content -> Generic -> iViews. There you will find Room Quick Poll.
