Quick Poll With Anonymous User

Hi All,
Does Quick poll of enterprise portal works with anonymous user. Can anybody suggest me a nice approach for quick poll for anonymous users.

As long as the quick poll iview that you put into the anonymous user role, has an authentication scheme of anonymous, then it will work fine.
Don't forget to point the iview at the relevant quick poll campaign.

HI Michael,
I have one more qn for you.
Normally, when an iView set to anonymous users is opened(with the full pcd path), it opens up in a page directly without the role being displayed. (Like wat happens in the preview of an iView)
But when the quick link is used, it drills down the role and shows the iView. Is there any way to avoid the role being shown in this case?

How to view a BI query with anonymous user in the portal

Does anybody knows how to view a BI query in the portal with anonymous user?
Cause when i try to view a query the portal always ask for authentification. And i don't want to sign with a user cause my portal is for everybody and if the user logged in it shows the roles that previously were assigned.

do you have sso configured between portal and BW server, if yes the authentication pop up should not come.
if you dont want to do sso between portal and bw server and still want to logon to BW query with anonymous user,
in you bw server go to transaction sicf and navigate to DEFAULT_HOST->SAP->BW->BEX and double click on bex node in the resulting window, log on details section provide a default userid/password

Using KM APIs with Anonymous user

Dear SDNites,
I have gone thorough one of the SAP notes on possible CM scenarios with anonymous users. It says the the supported scenarios are Search, browse and download.
My question is that can we use KM apis in these areas with anonymous users? I got some documentation on KM Indexmanagement APIs for searching with TREX, which requires authenticated user. I am wondering is there any way to use those APIs with anonymous user access.

Hi Pavan,
if you access the KM via Web Service you'll find parameters in each service to send username and password.
If you browse the KM reposiroties via http you may need to do an authentication first. If your portal accepts basic authentication (as it does by default) you may call the KM explorer iView with some URL like:
http://<username>:<password>@<hostname>.<domain>:<port>/<path to KM iView>
If this does not work, maybe you need to use a client that supports basic authentication (digest). This may be e.g. the OpenSourcer library [HttpClient|http://hc.apache.org/] from the Apache project.

"an XML element was malformed" error with anonymous user

There is no problem with another user but with anonymous user it gives "an XML element was malformed" error when I want to select data from Oracle database using BI_JDBC in VC. I have done the user mapping for the anonymous user like other users. I also give "read" and "end user" permissions for anonymous user in the BI_JDBC connection. For other users, it works. What should I do to use BI_JDBC in VC with anonymous user.

WPC - MIME object in web article with anonymous user doesn't work correctly

we have a problem with the Web Page Composer (NW07 SP14 + Patch 01) and contents for anonymous users.
We have define a site with the following elements: article (with text and jpg), paragraph (with text and pdf link) and a jpg image. All texts and the "standalone" jpg (not used in article/paragraph) are displayed correctly. The jpg in the article and the pdf link does not work correctly ("broken" link, PDF link requires a login name ?).
The direct image in the website has the following link:
<server>/irj/go/km/docs/wpccontent/Sites/alogis_v01_home/Site%20Content/graphics/bild01.jpg
(short url is turned off for error search...)
The jpg in the article has the following link (this is the same jpg as the previous picture bild01.jpg):

And the PDF link is:

For anonymous users the last two urls are not reachable. These urls require a login (the first link not). The links work correctly with a registered user, not with an anonymous user.
Does anybody have an idea? Is there someone who had this problem before and solved it?

Error with anonymous user

I have configured an anonymous user and created a new framework page to display the content. When the page first loads, the correct framework page, theme, and content appear. However, if I click on one of the content tabs (even if it is the first one, which is currently showing correctly), I get the error <b>"No portal desktop is defined for this user.If this problem persists, contact your system administrator."</b>
I have checked all permissions on everything to ensure that they are set correctly. Is there some type of session management that needs to be configured for anonymous users? It seems to load great the first time, and then after that is when the error occurs. Logged in users do not have this error.

DSM terminator problem with anonymous user

Hi friends,
When I am in the portal as an anonymous user and close the browser, the DSM terminator window is opened showing the logon screen.
Somebody knows how to solve this problem?

Accessing Quick poll iView though anonymous users

Hi all,
I have created a quick poll and i want to assign this poll to anonymous users only, so i have put the user "Anonymous" to Participants.
After that i have put the Campaign name to Content Admin. >> Content Provided By SAP >> End User Content >> Standard User >> Iviews >> com.sap.km.iviews-->Quick Poll Iview property : Campaign to be used.
And set the Quick Poll Iview authetication scheme to anonymous.
But while accessing the iview from home page its displaying the login page , and after login i am able th view my poll.
I want to display the view in home page to anonymous users only.
Could you please tell me where exactly I have gone wrong?

Through customize u can achieve ur requirement..
Create two Quickpoll with different campaign name and start ongoing..
Next create iview for each quickpoll by using KM QuickPoll iView Template enter the corresponding campaign name for the quickpoll iview.
Next create one JspDynPage component in NWDS
In that JSP file

</iframe>
Now u create one iview for that JspDynPage component
in that two Quickpoll question will display in one iView..

Vsftpd: allow writeable root for anonymous user

Hi,
I try to set up a simple FTP server which allows anonymous users to upload file into the root directory.
I use the directive allow_writeable_chroot but I still get the following error:
500 OOPS: vsftpd: refusing to run with writable root inside chroot()
Here is my vsftpd.conf:
anonymous_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
anon_upload_enable=YES
anon_mkdir_write_enable=YES
listen=YES
allow_writeable_chroot=YES
I also tried to play with anon_root but the error is the same if the given root is writable.
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT
I found the following entry in the vsftpd changelog (v3.0.0):
- Add new config setting "allow_writeable_chroot" to help people in a bit of
a spot with the v2.3.5 defensive change. Only applies to non-anonymous.
So, no way to make it work with anonymous users?

Filtering Entry Points for Anonymous User

Hi,
Iu2019m using the new feature u201CFiltering Entry Pointsu201D available since SPS14, it works fine for authenticated users, but when using anonymous users, the filter is completely ignored.
Any hint?

This is a known Issue, this feature did not work with Anonymous Users. It was fix for SP17.

I cannot erase a quick poll

I create a copy of repository "document", called "commercial". I create a new quick poll with the campaign "commercial", soon it initiates the quick poll and stop. Finally delete the quick poll and displayed the message :The selected quick poll(s) have been deleted,
but the quick poll was there yet.

I'm guessing you're trying to delete a template you created from within Numbers. All file deletion is done from Finder. Click on your house icon in the sidebar & then follow the path in this screenshot. Click the image to view full size.

Authorization Issue with Custom Pending Value Object and Anonymous Users

Hi,
I am just converting my demo from version 7.1 to 7.2. I am not doing upgrade. The demo uses a custom pending value object USER_REQUEST. The idea is that new employee goes to Java AS as anonymous user and enters her details and store where she will work. After submitting request there is an approval process using custom entry type USER_REQUEST. If the request is approved then IdM converts USER_REQUEST into MX_PERSON entry. This works nice in 7.1 but I am having problems with replicating this in 7.2. I created new UI task accessible by anonymous that creates new USER_REQUEST entry. I also assigned role idm.anonymous with UME action idm_anonymous to UME built in group Anonymous users.
My problem is with the field STORE. This field is a reference field to another custom entry type STORE (this entry type will be used in context based assignment). Every new employee must selects a store where she will work. The problem is when user clicks on button "Select". Web dynpro terminates and returns authorization error. I also tested this with entry type MX_ROLE. I added attribute MXREF_MX_ROLE and same issue. So it seems that just assigning UME action idm_anonymous is not enough to list objects from identity store. I found a workaround for this issue. When I assign also UME action idm_authenticated to Anonymous users then it does not dump and I get a pop up window where I can search for store. It does not seem right to assign idm_authenticated to anonymous users.
Another issue is with display task for entry type USER_REQUEST. I assigned a display task to entry STORE and I set that Anonymous have access to this task in Access control tab. I assigned default value to the field store. So when a user opens page she can see a hyper link to display already assigned store. When user clicks on this hyper link it opens a new pop up window and user must authenticate against Java AS. After successful authentication the display task for entry STORE is displayed. I would assume that anonymous user can display it without authentication.
So to me it seems like authorization checks have been changed in 7.2 versions and are more strict for anonymous tasks. Hence my question is how can I implement my scenario. Am I missing some configuration or what's the proper solution to my two issues? I don't count assigning idm_authenticated to Anonymous users as a solution. This workaround does not solve my second issue.
