How to make a jar file downloadable with IE
hello,
I just bought a website:
http://www.frozenfountain.net/
and I put a jar file on it called Logo.jar
Using Mozilla, the jar file downloads as expected, but with Internet Explorer, it tries to download it as .zip file.
How do I get it to download as a .jar file with IE?
thanksJust post a link to the Jar. Mozilla will download
it as a jar. Windows will download it as a zip.
Only one link. No problem, really. ;-)There is a problem. People who arent as good with computers as you are won't know how to run the jar file after downloading with IE.
At school, I told someone to download the file, which they did with IE. It downloaded to desktop as a zip. They extracted and were left with a bunch of .class files.

Hello Anybody, I have a question. Can any of you please suggest me how to make an xml file from the database table with all the records?
Note:- I am having the XSD Schema file and the resulted XML file should be in that XSD format only. The Oracle documentation has a good overview of the options available
Generating XML Data from the Database
Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.
You can also find some information in XML DB FAQ -

Adding all dependent classes of an applet to make a jar file
Hi everyone,
I have this problem which I was not able to find a solution for, So I truly appreciate any feedback on this.
I have a project on eclipse which is basically an applet.
This applet is using some classes in some jars that I have imported as libraries for this project.
Everything works on eclipse with no problem. However I need to make a jar file of the applet and required classes to use it in an html page.
Now that's the part I have been facing difficulties, cuz I have to include all the classes that the applet is using from other jar
files. And I can not come up with a way to find out all those classes.
On the other side if I include the whole jars then my applet goes over 100 meg and would be useless.
I am going to give an example of the problem I have in hope of making it a bit clear.
I have a applet, which uses some classes from some jars. i.e., class A. but class A itself need class B and etc.
Now how can I find all these dependencies since I have to include them along the applet in the jar file I am going to make.
Once again I appreciate any feedback and sorry that is a long question.Fractalz wrote:

hello,
i've been working with java and java servlet for a while, but i've no clue about jar files. my question is, how do i make a jar file? is a jar file a compressed version of multiple class files or what? thanks for any advice.OK, here's a link to learning about JAR files - this should help you master all you'd need to know to work with jars.
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/Books/javaprogramming/JAR/basics/
Rather than provide you with a brief explanation here, i guess visiting the link and learning all thats there would be more helpful.
Hope the above helps.

pls help me out in this.
AnkiHi,
You can make an executable jar file such that when you double click on that it starts running. Just follow the steps.
1. Open a notepad and write the following
Main-Class: XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXX means Your Main Class name. Don't forget to press Enter after you write your class name.
2. Save the file as Mani.mf
3. In the commant prompt ( your directory ) type following lines.
jar cmf Mani.mf Demo.jar *.*
4. This will make a jar file which is executable jar file
Hope this will help you.

how to access this jar file
Any help or comment would be highly appreciated
Regards
M Fazal Ur RehmanExcellent question. I don't see any client-jar in your EAR file structure. So I am assuming you are writing a separate client application which will talk to the ejbs deployed as part of this EAR. You need to do the following:
Write another EAR file with the following structure:
ear:
META-INF/application.xml
util.jar
client.jar
client.jar should have a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF and that should contain Class-Path:util.jar and value for Main-Class attribute.
Now deploy this new ear to your application server and execute it using Application Client Container that comes with your app server.
If you don't want to write another EAR file, then bundle th client.jar in your original EAR file.
Points to note are:
you have to repackage util.jar again inside this ear file.
For portability reason, you should use Class-Path manifest entry in client.jar. Refer to http://java.sun.com/j2ee/verified/packaging.html and J2EE platform spec section #8.2.
Hope this helps,
