Quick question: how to stop catalog opening in new tab in browser?

hi,
when i click a catalog from a list on the main page it opens the linked template for my catalog products but does so in a new browser tab?
how do i get the catalog products page to open in the current tab?

Just updating this thread with the solution in this case.
Solution: Go into your template and remove the reference "_blank" which is causing this to open in a new tab.

I'm not totally sure what you mean, because unless you are talking about not having to right-click a link first, that is prasisly what I do. the link you provided I just right clicked it & clicked on "open in new tab" ,& that's what it did.

Somehow your bookmarks that normally appear on the separate Bookmarks Toolbar (the part on the left) got onto your main Navigation Toolbar. To move them back, return to Customize mode and drag "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" to the Bookmarks Toolbar. Then click Done and hopefully that will stick.

Open a new tab, mystery browser opens

I have Google set as my home page. When I open Firefox, it goes to Google. However, when I open a new tab, I'm getting lab.search.conduit.com. Has pix of Honey Boo boo's mom and crap like that. Anyone know what I can do to get rid of this? Is it as simple as running my virus and malware programs?

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and search for prefs that refer to conduit and reset related user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.
If you do not keep changes after a restart or otherwise have problems with preferences, see:

You can check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs to see if anything from Conduit or any other suspicious software like Search Protect shows up.

Safari 8.0 stop link open in new tab.

In Safari, all google search results are opening in a new tab by clicking on them? How can I get safari to open the link from google in the same window..
Ive tried all possible settings in Safari -> preferences. Also I deleted my history/cookie's but that didn't work also. Anyone any idea? I didn't had this before..

I just did that yesterday (in my case it was 'glims') and after deleting glims, Safari now is working perfect again.

Hi, thanks for the reply but i can never remember all these special keyboard shortcuts. There are thousands of them out there, all i would like it to hit the standard " command T " and have the tab open in the same URL I will try to get used to it and see if it sticks but due to restrictions like this in firefox i mostly use safari these days. So since i only use firefox from time to time i will probably forget the shortcut. I have heard there is a way of changing the firefox program so that it does this, i tried changing one of the settings in the about:config settings but it did nothing so i changed the values back again.
I'm sure there is a way

I am creating some podcasts via Garage Band and iWeb for my grade 9 class. I have embedded some URLs in the podcast however when one 'clicks' the links the iWeb page is closed and the user is taken to the new page.
I would like the iWeb page with the podcast to remain open and a new page or tab open up to display the link.
Is it possible to do this?

How can I eleminate yandex.ru, which appears as my browser whenever I open a new tab?

My homepage is google, and my browser is mozilla. But everytime I open a new tab the browser changes to yandex.ru. I can't seem to find where to eliminate it.

You have possibly inadvertently installed some software of malware that is causing this. If it is not visibly listed in your Firefox add-ons you may need to change your preferences and find and remove the software. The problem software may be listed as a program in your Vista OS listing and it may be easy to uninstall or it may be more problematic.

How to set Preferences such that new tabs open to same page as active when Command-T was hit?

On opening a new tab, the tab by default opens to thumbnails based on recent history. A la Safari, I want the new tab to open *to same page as was active when Command-T was hit*. What are the specific steps to take, to set as the default (preference), new pages to open to "Same page"? ("Same page" is Safari's check box in its Preferences.)
Note, I have navigated available Mozilla Support, and using about:config have reset browser.newtab.url so that the new tab appears blank (discontinuing tracking of recent history for this purpose).
Note, more importantly, I have found this Support Forum article, which, though challengingly written, has given me a temporary solution:

Just today, I cannot open a new tab - by clicking on the new tab button, or pressing CTRL+T. Help!

I always use this feature and love it! I've gone thru the trouble-shooting guide, checked my plug-ins, cleared my cache and cookies, restarted my computer - and still no new tabs! The only way I can get a new tab is to click on HELP, FIREFOX HELP, and then use the new tab that opens.

When I open a new tab, instead of showing my most visited sites, it automatically brings me to a website I haven't favorited or visited.

Pretty much as the question states. Whenever I open a new tab, it directs me to this site called Babylon Search, some sort of search engine-looking website that I suspect could contain malware or something of the like. I've tried everything I can and searched through all of the help topics to find a way to restore the ability to preview my most-visited sites without any luck.

Safari resets current site to Top site when opening the new tab.

Hi there,
I have MacBook 10.5.8 installed. I got problem with Safari as when i'm opening new tab then new tab opens but current tab (visited site) gets reset to Top site.
Example:
 I launched Safari & browsed www.google.com.
 Then i pressed key combination of Command + T to open the new tab to browse www.apple.com.
 Just after pressing this key combination new tab opened but previous site google.com page disappeared & changed to Top Sites.
 Safari version: 5.0.6
I tried resetting then reinstalling & it worked properly but temporarily. I couldn't fix it permanently.
Any help in the same would be appreciated.
