Try SMSchat. You need to go to: http://symbianwave.com/product.php?id=smschat_s60. I was a beta tester for them. It works ok.

  • Quick Reply And Group Messaging

So I get a group message. No indication that it's a group message in Notification Center. I do the quick reply... No indication that I'm replying to multiple people. I send it... And it goes to the entire group.
Is this really expected behavior from the software? How the **** can that go through to production??
Luckily it wasn't anything I wouldn't have said had I know it was a group chat but nevertheless, thats kind of crappy.  Shouldn't there be some indication that I received or am sending a freaking text to dozens of people?

why can't we have a quick reply for our messages without jailbreaking. android can have it and i see no reason why apple cant add such a feature. its nice to not have to put in my passcode 2-300 times a day just to reply to a text...

Good suggestion. My mom has it on her S4. Let apple know at: https://www.apple.com/feedback

  • Lost quick reply text when new message arrived

I was typing a quick reply to a notification of an iMessage message when a new message arrived. The notification for that message was immediately displayed, losing the text of my reply.
Is this normal? Should I report it as a bug?

    This is a known issue.

  • How can one ungroup SMS messages on a Z10?

I have in the past one week upgraded from a BlackBerry Torch 9800 to a BlackBerry Z10. On the Torch, there was an option to either group or ungroup SMS messages from the same sender, however, on the Z10, SMS messages are grouped by default and I am trying to find a way to ungroup them. Can somebody please help?

Hi, webreality212, and welcome to the Community,
Unfortunately, Skype Numbers cannot receive incoming SMS messages; these would be routed to your mobile phone number instead.  Here is are links to the FAQ articles with the rest of the details:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA676/can-i-send-sms-text-messages-to-any-number
https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA3591/sending-sms-text-messages-windows-desktop (this article includes links to customized instructions for other platforms and operating systems)
Copied and pasted from the above article ...
The person you sent the SMS text message to won’t be able to reply you on Skype. However, you can change your settings to receive the SMS text message replies on your mobile. To do so, select Tools > Options… > IM & SMS > SMS Settings and enter and verify your mobile number.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Nokia 6288 - Viewing of sms messages

1 - I find that I am unable to access a received sms message whilst I am in a chat programme. I have to log right out of the chat programme to read and reply to the sms. Is there a way around this? My previous phone was a Sony Ericcson and it would allow me to view and reply whilst in the middle of a chat programme.
2 - The back light goes out far too quickly making reading of smses or emails very frustrating. One cannot press any key to illuminate the screen as a menu option is activated unintentionally. There doesn't appear to be an option to extend the time of the back light. Any way around this?
If someone could solve these 2 problems, I'll be eternally grateful.

Sadly neither of these issues can be fixed.
The 6288 is not designed to multi-task so you cannot use another program until you exit what you are in.
The light time-out is hard coded into the firmware and cannot be changed. The time-out on older nokia's was 15 seconds which was perfect but it's been lowered to around 10 seconds on newer phones. Probably to save battery power.

  • How do I stop my iTunes backing up my sms messages?

Someone who uses my laptop keeps finding my sms messages backed up and I want to stop my iTunes backing up my messages completely. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this?

    Thanks for your reply
This is going to sound a bit odd but it's my partner that checks my messages as he has trust issues. I can't put any kind of passwords on anything as he will then suspect I am hiding something regardless of if I am or not.
I want to continue to back up my iPhone in case something happens to it. If I delete my txt messages off my phone, does this permanently delete them everywhere so they will not show up when I back up my phone?

Feature : Option/Email/When Replying To A Message That Is Not In the Inbox, Save The Reply In The Same Folder
    Hi,
the feature works fine in the mailbox of the user but not from within the exchange personal archive.
Instead the reply is saved in the send items folder of the mailbox.
Any suggestions how to make this work?
    Best Regards,
    zrvb

AFAIK, that is how it is intended to work. The archive is considered as "old-emails" so the newly created reply doesn't fall within that category.
Contact Microsoft Support by phone to submit it as a bug when it is "unexpected behavior" from your point of view or otherwise as a feature request/design change.

  • IMessages not converting to SMS messages when recipient not in wi-fi area / out of credit

I have an iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1.3) and my daughter and iPhone 4.  She often texts me without problem.  BUT if I try and reply and she is not in a Wi-Fi area or has run out of credit, the message (in blue) says that it has been delivered but she doesn't receive it.  The only way I can send a message to my daughter is to switch off iMessage and try again and send it as a SMS message - which is surely not how it's meant to be?  Other friends that are also iPhone users who are unaware of this problem so she doesn't get all her messages until back in a wi-fi area - which as a teenager is really annoying!
I do have the settings "Send as SMS" switched to on - so in theory my daughter should get a SMS as a minimum?
I have reset my phone and the network data but nothing has changed.  My daughter is quite fed up on missing out on her messages.
    Any ideas?

Solution found. It was simply that the Cellular data was switched off on my daughters phone.

  • PC suite export/import breaks SMS messages

    Nokia PC suite 6.85.14.1
    Windows XP SP2
Phone 6500 classic connected either by Bluetooth or USB
just updated 6500c to 4.84 firmware
an sms message is received and is viewable fine in Inbox
using the phone I move it to Archive, it is still OK
I then export it to PC (drag-n-drop to a folder)
I delete the message in the phone and import (drag-n-drop) back to Archive
The message is there but it does not show sender name (instead I see the date in the header)
When I open the message and click message details, I can see that
To: field contains the actual sender, while Sender: has (no address)
I tried various things including messing with vmg content (putting same TEL: field to both VCARD entries), but on the import to 6500c, it is the same story - as if the import swaps the sender with receiver and clears the sender field
Please also note that at all times, when I view the messages in PC Suite (phone browser) they show correct sender field, I just need to see the same on the actual phone
Is there something I am missing?
Generally I just need to copy old sms messages from 7260, but when importing them they break as described above. I then tried to export a "6500" message and import it back - with same result. So it appears to be a PC Suite issue rather than anything

al_lea, thanks, I already thought about that, but as I said to exlucde any incompatibility issues within vmg I tried a export/import of a "native" sms freshly received on the 6500, and it gives the same problem.
I also tried changing versions to 3.0 manually in the vmg with no luck.
I'm starting to think the message is actually ok, but it's probably the 6500c software that doesn't display them right. When I try to reply to "broken" message, it does go to sender, even though he is not displayed as one
it looks like PC suite export or import strips the empty to: VCARD from inside the vmg, which is fine by the standards but 6500c doesnt like

  • SMS messages delayed in Group Chat

I bought a new iPhone 5s 2 months ago and have since often had issues receiving SMS messages on time in a Group Chat.  4 of us in the chat have iPhones, 1 person has an Android, but it was never an issue before buying the 5s.  It also happens when I have a perfect signal.  Hours later, I will get a whole slew of messages that were sent earlier in the day, so they are somehow getting stuck and it keeps happening.  This has not been an issue for other iPhone users in the Group Chat.  Does anyone know what might be causing this and how it can be fixed?
    Thanks

"This only works if the carrier makes those screens accessible, not all carriers do.  In the US they are not accessible, except maybe on an unlocked device."
Did she mention where she lives? Did she mention if she got an unlocked device? No. So how you know?
My answer completed every possible question.FIY it is accessible on an unlocked iPhone ,I am disappointed that you didn't know this.

  • Lumia 925 Photo sharing via SMS message....

Can anyone please tell me how I send and receive photos/pictures via sms message?
I've looked through all the settings but can't see anywhere where I turn it on...
    Thanks... Jon T.

And you're under the impression an android (or iOS) phone does not share everything, if not more then let me burst your bubble real quick.
There's plenty of examples here how people break their screen and lose their images because they are not shared and the phone is reset when at the repair center.
SMS does not have the ability to share photos, you can use MMS but the quality will be limited, it also requires a cellular network connect and will not work over WiFi (by design and on any phone, just i case you wonder).
Setting up MMS is as easy as going to Settings > access point to check if the access point for your carrier is found and active, once it is you can send pictures from the messaging hub but, again, at reduced resolution/quality.

  • E71: Communication Center fails to load SMS messag...

I have an E71, which I connect to my laptop and use to update my Calendar etc. I also read and reply to SMS from the Messages option of the communication Center.
However, the messages fail to load intermittently, whereas other things like Contacts and Calendar load properly.
I have tried reinstalling the software , but it doesn't work.

Thanks very much for your advice.
I normally set "memory card" to work and store my all messages, and I do backup (*.npu file, right?) for both internal and SD card memory (I select all when functioning "Back up" in PC suite) to my notebook using PCsuite from time to time. With this, could you tell me where can I check and open my messages in my notebook. I just want to make sure that folders under "My folders" under "Messaging" menu are really backed up and can be opened by my notebook.
Besides, in case that I use my microSD card to work with my all messages, at least I should be able to locate where all messages are kept, shouldn't I? Could you advise how can I locate such files by "File manager" function?
    Thank you in advance again.
