I've created a menu in DVDSP4 with a "first play" video clip that goes into the menu pic. Everything seems to work fine in simulation, but when I burn it, about two seconds before the end of the video clip, I get a quick flash of the Menu pic.

When she connects an external display the displays preference panel will open an additional pane showing a range of recommended resolutions which the mac 'guesses' will work on it. Usually it guesses well, and you can select whichever gives you the best looking result. Normally the displays pane will be shown on the external display, but if this is not readable it can be brought onto the macbook display by clicking the 'Gather Displays' button. Also on the pane is a Mirroring checkbox. If checked both the macbook screen and the external display will show exactly the same thing - the external display will 'mirror' the macbook display. In this mode there will be fewer resolutions available, and the macbook screen may have black horizontal or vertical borders to maintain the aspect ratio. If unchecked the external display will be like an extended desktop, and you can drag windows from one to the other. In this mode the external display will usually have more, larger, resolutions available. Some programs, such as Keynote, can use the dual displays intelligently, with separate displays on the macbook and external aimed at the presenter and audience respectively.
Don't worry, it sounds more complicated written down then it is in practice, but it would be good to give it a dry run beforehand, say using an external monitor if you have one around somewhere. Good Luck!

Hoping for a quick response : EXP and Archived REDO log files

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered 100 times. I admit I didn't search, I don't have time. I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow, and I need to know if I'm correct about something to do with backup / restore.
we have 10g R2 running a single instance on a single server. The application vendor has "embedded" oracle with their application. The vendor's backup is a batch file using EXP - thus:
exp system/xpwdxx@db full=y file=D:\Orant\admin\db\EXP\db_full.dmp log=D:\Orant\admin\db\EXP\db_full.txt direct=y compress=y
This command is executed nightly at midnight. The files are then backed up by our nightly backup to offsite storage media.
Te database is running in autoarchive mode. The problem is, the archived redo files filled the drive they were being stored on, and it is the drive the database is on. I used OS commands to move 136G of archived redo logs onto other storage media to free the drive.
My question: Since the EXP runs at midnight, when there is likely NO activity, do I need to run in AutoArchive Mode? From what I have read, you cannot even apply archived redo log files to this type of backup strategy (IMP) Is that true? We are ok losing changes since our last EXP. I have read a lot of stuff about restoring consistent vs. inconsistent, and just need to know: If my disk fails, and I have to start with a clean install of Oracle and nothing else, can I IMP this EXP and get back up and running as of the last EXP? Or do I need the autoarchived redo log files back to July 2009 (136G of them).

BruceThe dump file is probably ok in the sense it is not corrupted and can be used in an imp operation. That doesn't mean the data in it is transactionally consistent. And to use it at all, you have to have a database up and running. If the database is physically corrupted, you'll have to rebuild a new database from scratch before you can even think about using your dmp file.
Vendors never understand databases. I once had a vendor tell me that Oracle's performance would be intolerable if there were more than 5 concurrent connections. Well, maybe in HIS product ..... Discussions terminated quickly after he made that statement.

Hi Aasma,
The standard BI Publisher is part of EBS applications.
Most of the EBS reports(R12) are based on BI Publisher.
If you check the responsibility 'XML Publisher Administrator' you will see all the templates used in the application.
Your technical team should already know this.
On the other hand OBIEE would need separate licences.
But for you BI Publisher would do.

I'd try Dropbox (http://www.dropbox.com/), which you and your recipient both have to have. It's easy, and the free version would probably be enough. There are any number of other services available for emailing large files (google that). Of course, your recipient must have KN installed to be able to view it correctly, or can view it in PP, but with some loss, primarily transitions/animations.

Modeling Question... need a quick response.

Hi All,
I have developed a dash board recport to count the no of orders with in a work center. there are many metrics. Here is how it is being done.
1. load data source to Ware House layer.
2. Warehouse layer to Appl layer, where I count the operations. (an order could have many operations)
3. Appl layer to Appl layer 2 - where I count Orders - and all key figures are set to overwrite. So between two loads I will retain only the latest count for the same keys.
4. Appl layer to Cube where I count the same orders again, just to make sure it is all 1 if conditions satisfy.
All looks good when the first load goes to the cube. Now wehn the delta comes in some of the orders come again and they get counted again and I see 2 records in the cube added on two different dates.
now if I remove my time dimension I wil have the counts become added together for same orders ( count > 1)
How can I avaoid this doubling in this model or any changes where the count should be counted once or show the real count on my dash board.

Yeah the behavious of the cube will hurt the process when i do Delta. If that is changed to Delta with delete overlapping I can get this done. I am thinking about the volume in the future would substantially delay the SLA.
Also master data will not solve this problem since I need trend and history of process on each order. Unless I change that to time-dependent and again that will add more issues.

they have two databases all is running fine but there is one table which they want to sync every week.

what i have recomands is incrmental export import but that is now obsolete for specific owner or table but yes you can do for whole database. i am getting this error while doing.
EXP-00041: INCTYPE parameter is obsolete
EXP-00021: can only perform incremental export in Full Database mode
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully
so now any other suggestion???

I have 2 sites(a site and b site) and one centralized. A and B site have there own schema and their user work on it like theor is one table trades, in both A and B sites which have different data.
And I have no issues if the site are sync or not . we are ok with that.
Now every week for reporting or monitering purpose I need that trade tables from both sites in centralized database . that centralized database is for his own purpose and nothing to do with other sites except one trade table.
one more that centralized site is not linked wwith A and B sites because these sites different orginazations.

Reinstalling Mac OS X Problem. Can't lose information. Need quick response!

Okay ,so I recently had a software problem with my mac, and I went to the apple store and the genius told me I need to reinstall mac os x tiger, and it wil work. WEll I put the disc in and he gave me specific instructions on how to keep all my documents, movies, pictures, etc. He told me that when I get to the screen wherer it asks me to choose a harddrive to install it, I need to click "options" and make sure "preserve network settings and users" is checked, but when I got there it was gray, and unclickable. I only have 17 gigs of space left, and that may be the reason, but I don't know... I don't want to click "archive and install" and not click what he told me, and click continue, cause if I seriously loose all my information, I will die. I was thinking about clearing out my harddrive somehow, but Ithe genius told me that 17 gigs was DEFINATELY enough. I don't know what todo

If you have a 250GB drive, 17 GB is right on the border of too little.
I'm not sure if I understand whether you have actually tried to reinstall? Have you inserted the disc and gone to options>archive and install>preserve settings?
I wasn't suggesting you partition your main drive, just an external one.
Why is your computer not working? Have you discovered what its problem is? Have you run the Hardware Test from your install disc?
Lots of questions, but it's hard to solve a problem without all the pieces of the puzzle being there

i've made many cd's with waveburner. i've imported regular 16bit tracks and created an order the cd. The cd's are nothing fancy just a few earlier fades than the original audio track...changing gaps to 1 sec instead of 2 sec. Then bounced the project and for the first time took off any dither...I realized in all previous projects i must have been dithering twice. Now I get pop clicks through out the cd...not just the start , gaps...but everywhere. I looked to see if there was a previous post for this and although there are quite a few regarding gaps...not throughout the cd.....I have logic pro 7.2.3 and the waveburner version that came along with that. anybody please??

As always I find the forums better to answer questions than Email Adobe for a Answer!
Basically I've started a new job for a company who want me to download a trial version of Photoshop/Dreamweaver
so I can put a report together to the reasons to switching to Adobe Web Suite, from what they use currently to design and develop
web sites. Unfortunately I haven't got the trails to hand to Install as my portable HD screwed up and unable to retrieve any information off it.
I need to be able to download these trails ASAP, but have been trying in vain for the last two days, I've emailed Adobe regarding this with no reply!
We are looking to get around 25 licence's but for some reason that doesn't seem to justifying a response, If anyone out there know how to actually get the downloads to start without time outs and web browsers hanging IE with a Direct link to Dreamweaver & Photoshop CS4 it will save me a lot of headaches.

I am NO fan of Adobe the company, but the quickest way to get an answer is to get on the phone. I just had to call them a few weeks ago and got through pretty quick. I would think if calling sales, they wont make you wait for long.

Digital stimulus-frequency response: Need to drive with digital output trigger. Using counters for response.

I need to drive stimulus-response with a software driven digital trigger and NI-TIO counter based response. No analog I/O is really relevant, although I have a PCI-6035E multi-function DAQ as part of my gear. I intend to use the analog, but its timing is non-critical and can be software timed.
The real trick is that I want to set the basic timing of the system (in the range of 1 - 50Hz) from the timer0 on the 6035E. This signal needs to be replicated to drive a trigger pulse and to route through RTSI (or a PFI) to trigger frequency counts using the four possible groups of counter/timers on the 6602.
What I need is:
while( enabled )
Repeat at (
software controllable rate = 1-50Hz)
Trigger Sets a PFI line for 10-20us
same trigger sets an RTSI line
- Software Set Delay (usually zero)- stable is more important than the delay time!
Count for software set time on 4 counters
analog samples
Post-process
I want to do this in LabView. I have checked out the Advanced sychronization demos online, but the examples all use analog triggering and buffered digital I/O. This doesn't really address what I need to do.
I have made some failed attempts which relied on software to sync up the trigger and the response frequency acquisition. This is definately flawed. I need to start the counting right after setting the digital output trigger, and stop the count after a fixed interval for frequency calculation.
I am having trouble working through the signal routing to get the timing to trigger off the digital stimulus output pulse.
Any help would be appreciated

What are you using the trigger from the 6035E for? I do not know what you mean by, "to trigger frequency countes."
If you are having problems just routing the signal to the 6602, here is a vi that shows you how to route a signal through the RTSI cable to use as the source of a counter.
