Quick review of DLO leather hipcase for the touch

hi ipodders,
recently i've been looking for a case for my new ipod touch. at first, i tried a DLO videoshell transparent hardcase and i really wasn't impressed. the plastic felt cheap and the fit was less than stellar. like many touch cases, it also didn't offer any screen protection outside of the included and thin plastic cling-type screen protector. it really didn't inspire confidence and i went searching for something better.
after more research, i tried a DLO leather hipcase and i'm happy to report that it's a much better solution for my needs.
the thing i most like is that it has a padded leather cover that protects the screen and magnets in the bottom of the cover keep it securely attached to the case. when open, the leather cover folds back easily and stays out of my way. the fit of the case is very good with easy access to the power button, dock connector and headphone jack. the only thing missing is a swiveling, replaceable belt clip. the clip on the hipcase is leather-covered and permanent, but fairly low-profile and it is sturdy.
because i'm fairly paranoid, i paired this case with an additional screen protector (clear plastic cling type) for when the leather cover is open. it would be nice if the hiptop came with one for safety's sake, but i'm not going to sweat another $4 when it comes to protecting the screen.
to those who haven't found a case that works for them, give the DLO hipcase a look. it's reasonably priced and does the job nicely. i don't work for DLO and have no interests here - just an ipod user looking for a way to best protect my new favorite gizmo.

Agreed, I bought mine from Best Buy - the register rung-up the wrong price, so I took it to Customer Service, waited 10 minutes, then got my refund for the overcharge.
I hope people review their receipts before leaving the store - no one wants to over-pay for any product.

I'm looking for a real *GENUINE LEATHER* case for the iPod Touch 4G, preferably one that has a belt clip.
I just wasted $34 on the new Belkin "genuine leather case with belt clip" only to find out it smelled like rubber and felt nothing like what real leather would feel/smell like. Totally disappointed in Belkin advertising their cases as genuine leather when in fact they are made of cheap synthetic leather.

You can right click your video file, go to "Get Info", and select the Video tab and change the file type to Movie, TV Show, or Music Video, and then once that video is synced to the iPod it will be sorted into the proper location.
You can also create playlists of your video content. That would be the easiest/best way to get your genre classification system going.

Has anyone seen any additional information about what has been referred to as "Nokia’s premium leather case for the Lumia 1020" on some sites?

This looks like the perfect case for the Lumia 1020 and is one of the few that offers protection for the camera lens.
Is it going to be sold by Nokia? And when is it coming out?

Actually, the page mentions that link as a source for a different case not pictured.

So whatever case Noreve.com decides to make, it won't be the one pictured in the article.
And looking at the other cases that Noreve has designed, I don't think theirs will look anything like the Nokia-branded one that is pictured.
Any leads would be appreciated.

The best case is the one that Creative sells. It is the only one that allows support for the sync adapter. Stay clear of any purchased from ebay or amazon as there are several of them. The two most popular on the Internet which are not manufactured by Creative seem to be available on almost any site. The one with the kickstand and the exposed top should be avoided. Sure it looks practical, but the plastic protecti've window which is stitched to the case is stitched in a way that it is sharp and will certainly scratch your player, especially if you have the black player. The other most popular leather case has a flip cover which is snapped into place at the bottom. This one is ideal and well padded for maximum protection, but beware, the sync adapter will not fit with this case as well. You will have to remove the player for nearly every case I've seen except the one Creative sells on their website. The better of the two types however is perfect if you wish to carry your player outside and only use it for outdoor protection. There is no guarantee however that all cases will have the plastic window stitched properly so beware! The Creative model has no plastic window as it really doesn't need one. Simply buy the Creative screen protectors for this purpose.
So save your money and go with the Creative case. It is specifically designed for the Zen Vision:M.

The last add-on i installed for Firefox was "Fox Filter" so my kids couldn't accidentally stumble onto sites of immoral tastes. I can't see why that would have any effect, but it was the last update/add-on i installed to the browser, but even then,.......it was working fine for a week and a half afterwards until now. Please help.

Hello Steve.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
If you detect a faulty add-on, you should contact its author for support. You can also search for alternatives. Site filters are relatively common in the add-ons gallery: [http://addons.mozilla.org addons.mozilla.org].

MacLife had a warning about that so I e-mailed Griffin about their new case. This is what they e-mailed me back:

No. But you can use it as a remote control for a current Mac - AirTunes -Airport Express setup with Remote Buddy (link).

I was going to suggest something from Otterbox. Unfortunately, they've chosen to discontinue iPod accessories. Still you may be able to find something on eBay. I don't know if the iPhone case can work. It'll likely be too big.

hey i have a quick question. how do you resgister any of the adobe touch apps? like proto, ideas, photo shop touch revel, readert. like how and wheres the searial number or is there none? i am guessing the ipad apps are differnt form the desktop apps. the reason i am asking is because a teacher and were trying to down load a adobe proto project file off of my adobe creative cloud accont, which is the free accounst, get started. anyhow. we were not able to load the file into the teachers adobe dreamweaver softwhare. even with the extension. so the teacher was saying that i need to resgister the touch apps and mobile apps so i can get the updates i need that will alow me to do what i need to do.

thank you. um. i was able to email the proto file to myself in gmail. and for a reason. i followed what you said. i downloaded the file. and it opend up the zip file. as a folder. and in there was the css rules, and index. html file. so what i am saying is it worked. also i am able to open it in dreamweaver cs4. but heres the thing i noticed. it shows the file when openend in dreamweaver cs4 as a normal desktop doucument. why is that? but when prewviewed on the internt it shows up as mobile tablet doucment.. its interesting. um. i only had basic web design class for my photography associate degree program. but the reason i know about html is because i keep asking questions. and then start over and over again on a web layout. so after a while. i just got use to the knowledge. so let me get this straight. html is html. and it can be open and edited on any web design program that supports html file reading. even including an older adobe dreamweraver program like cs4? the proto update i have for the ipad is 1.5.

I have an ELOTouch monitor without a driver for the touch screen, Series ET1947-XXWA-1. Any ideas?

I have a ELO touch monitor. I downloaded a driver from ELO's archive files bnut not sure if this is what I need to get the touch feature to work. I'm plugged in to my mac mini via dvi, I also am plugged into the serial port of the display through a serial to usb adapter to my mac mini. What am I doing wrong?

Does the USB>Serial adopter work for other serial devices? Maybe that is not working?

Games for the Touch?

I played texas hold em on my friends 5th gen ipod today and it was a lot of fun, a lot of the games for 5th gen ipods r pretty cool like monoply and stuff...when will there be hope for touch owners?

dude, where have you been? apple released the iPhone 2.0 Update in July which allows for 3rd party apps to run on the iPhone and iPod Touch (you have to pay $9.95 for the update for the ipod touch though)
also there are some good board games in the app store if you know what to look for.

How's the audio quality for the touch?

Topic. Also, can the Touch handle high bitrate files; eg. 192 - 320 kbps? With my nano, I've noticed that songs with high bitrates sounds abit distorted. Examples would be Forever by Chris Brown and Don't Stop the Music by Rihanna.
I should also mention that I didn't notice this "distortion" with my Creative ZEN. So, is the audio quality the same or better than the Creative ZEN/Zen X-Fi?
Need these questions answered before I decide to buy a Touch. Thanks guys!

Yes, I have a lot of CD's ripped at 320Kbps (160 per channel stereo) through iTunes and they work fine.
Very difficult to compare "sound quality" with other devices I have not heard, even then it is down to personal taste and ear phones etc.
All I can say is using my Touch with Sennheiser CX300's and a Creative X Dock, I have no complaints, to me it sounds great.
Maybe go to an Apple store and test one out, there is also a 14 day return period.

Can I quickly import PDFs to Adobe DPS for the iPad?

Is there an easy and streamlined way of porting our magazine PDFs over to the iPad in DPS?
On my last attempt I created both orientations and placed the PDFs on the page as I would an image.
What I am wondering is, is there an easier and quick way to import PDFs into my pages?
I'm using CS 5.5
I expect not but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

That's great Lohri, I used the script this afternoon and it worked saving me hours of extra work.
Do you know where I may find a version of this that adapts UK A4 pages to the vertical orientation and fits it to the page proportionally. The script stretches the page to fit the proportions of the iPad.
I did this manually but I was hoping someone may have adapted the script to suit. Unfortunately I'm not a coder!
I hope you can point me in the right direction.
