Quick search buttons (ex Google toolbar)

Hi there,
As Google has "disabled" its Toolbar for use with Firefox, would it be possible to add buttons which work in a similar way to those on Google's Toolbar to the base of Firefox?
The most useful were those which search for words on the page without having to press CTRL+F (these would change to reflect the current search term).

  • Ipad google blue quick search button turned white?

For some reason and this may be a google app problem (although they can't answer it) on my Ipad air 2 once you open the google app there is a little circle "g" at the bottom of my screen. In the last week when ever I delete old pages by swiping them away it turns white in color then after a few days it will stay white and never return to the blue color. Yes I have removed and restored the app, done a hard reset, and synced the Ipad. still it does this ALTHOUGH  on my iphone 6 it never changes color and always stays blue. I know this is minor but I wonder if it is an app problem or an Ipad Air problem since this is my 2nd Air 2 and my luck with them have not been good. Any advice or suggestions.
    Thanks.

I forgot to n=mention the circle g is called the quick search button.

  • I cannot select previously searched items in google toolbar search through mouse, I have to selct it by keyboard or retype it.

In firefox 4 I cannot select previously searched items in google toolbar search through mouse, I have to selct it by keyboard or retype it.
Also during switching between tabs I notice black screen.

I just tried clicking the left button of the mouse BEFORE placing the pointer above the drop-down arrow of the Google search and worked. If the word was deep down the list, i scrolled down the wheel of the mouse. Always keeping the left button pressed and releasing it once i had pointed my choice.

  • [HELP] I lost the quick search button on my 5800 h...

I tried to install a game into my phone and it make my phone not responding so long. I tried to turn off by pressing the power button but it wasn't respond. Then I take out the battery, put it in turn on my phone again. I found that the quick search button below the shortcut on my home screen has disapeared. I tried to restart the phone but the problem still there. When I go to setting->personal->home screen->home screen to check and it only show 4 line: Shortcuts, music player, radio, calendar. The quick search has completely disapeared. How to solve this? Thanks

  • In the address bar, how do you get rid of the Amazon button, the "e-pub catalogue" button and change my search button to Google vs Babylon? Where is the button beside the forward arrow that would allow you to see your current history of links?

On my address bar, there is now a superfluous Amazon button at the right of the forward arrow where there used to be a button that would allow you to see your recent links. It's gone. In addition there is a useless "epub catalog" button and the search button is Babylon instead of Google. How do I go back to my working address bar.

Right click the Back / Forward buttons to get a list of sites you visited.
To reinstate Google as your search engine, do the following.
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config '''and hit Enter.
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
    * Go to File | Exit
    * Restart Firefox, go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
    * Go to '''Tools '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
'''EDIT''': Remove the AmAzon button by right clicking a blank part of the tab bar and click '''Customize'''. Then drag it into the panel which opens.

  • How do I enable The Google Quick Search Box feature?

The Google Quick Search Box on the toolbar no longer will search when entered. The search request registers but won't search. I have to go to Google.com in order to use the Google search engine. The quick search was handy and I'd like to have it back. Per Google I need to enable it by clicking on the "wrench", search and enable... but it's not there to enable. HELP!

  • Quick search broken (happened shortly before Firefox 8) - is that a bug?

Had been using Quick Search keywords forever but they suddenly stopped working (in one of the last FF 7 updates - I am now on FF 8). Now goes straight to Google with everything I've typed. This applies to both my own quick searches as well as the ones that were pre-created by earlier FF versions.
See troubleshooting information for steps to reproduce.
(I hear someone else in the office complaining about these broken quick searches but surprisingly Google yields no recent threads on this...)
Thanks in advance for any help!

Does it work if you add the dictionary<i></i>.com (dictionary<i></i>.reference<i></i>.com) search engine and add a keyword to it?

  • When I click on a result of a Google search and then go that web site, the Back button on the toolbar is grayed out and I cannot return to the search results.

When using FF3.6 and making a Google search, when I click on a result and then go that web site, the Back button on the toolbar is grayed out and I cannot return to the search results without going to History. This does not happen all the time; about 1/2 of the time.
This problem is not limited to Google, but occurs with other sites as well.

If you are talking about searches from - http://www.google.com/ - are you logged into a Google account all the time? If so, check your "Search Settings" from the "gear" in the upper-right corner of that Google search page and see if you have '''Open search results in a new browser window.''' check-marked, at the bottom of that preferences page. When that is check-marked and you have Tab options in Firefox set to '''Open new windows in a new tab instead''', you will get search results always opening in a new tab instead of the same tab. As to why that works different for "sponsored links" I don't know, I haven't seen the "sponsored links" for years now, I have a GM script that blocks those advertisements.

  • I updated to Firefox 3.6.8 and now I get an anycolor start page that keeps popping up and my google toolbar search no longer works.

Ever since updating to 3.6.8 I open firefox and get two tabs. One for my homepage and one which is an "Anycolor start page". Hugely annoying and can't stop the 2nd tab from popping up every time I start Firefox. Also my google toolbar search function no longer works. Type in a search and hit enter and nothing happens.

I have exactly the same problem. I entered Firefox in safe mode and deleted AnyColor from my addons. But now when I click on the addon button this is what I get:
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623"
But nothing happens and I have to reboot my computer because it freezes on this message. Damn, I wish I had not upgraded to Firefox 3.6.8
    Somebody please help! Thanks

  • I can't add the google search window to my toolbar?

I recently upgraded to the Mountain Lion OS X 10.8
In Safari, I am unable to customize my toolbar with the google search window.  I was successful in dragging the other buttons.  I don't have a search window on the toolbar and it is very frustrating.

Apple moved it into the address bar.

  • How do I get the layout to MATCH the options set for Google Toolbar (why do buttons I have DESELECTED in the Options interface persist in appearing)? I have no interest in USA, News, Orkut, et cetera.

Google Toolbar: Manage> Google Toolbar Options> Buttons> USA [DESELECT] does not function properly, and persists in appearing, despite the empty Check-Box. Why is the option there if it does not work? Have these coders ever heard of Testing Before Release? While I cannot claim familiarity with the coding in Firefox, I AM an application and web writer (¡Hasta 1984!); this is something every Programming 101 student learns if it wishes to pass the course, let alone become professionally employed in such a field.

I ran into the problem you have after trying to update to 7.1.2 the phone updated, but got stuck in recovery mode, and none of the reset methods worked. I did some searching and came up with a simple method, and it got me out of the loop.
Once i used this app, My phone booted and The update was in place.

  • Autocomplete in Google toolbar not working in FF 4.0. When I select a search term from drop down menu it doesn't load.

As I said, when I type in a partial search term in the Google toolbar and the drop down list appears, if I click on a completed term, it will not autocomplete it.

Mouse clicking wouldn't work for me either in the Google drop down box but up/down keys followed by enter do. I hope a quick fix is in order for this.

  • The home button in the toolbar doesn't work anymore. It takes me to a search page not my homepage

instead of opening new tabs I do a lot of surfing from one tab. Before when I wanted to get back to my homepage I would click the Home button in the toolbar and it would take me back to my homepage. A nice feature. But lately when I click the home button it takes me to a search window and I have to type in yahoo and then click on yahoo login.
Anyone know how to fix this?

... and 99% of the time the site you want is at the top of results.
or hit down arrow to get to it from history...
Believe it or not but most people use the url bar for searching.
.... it should never had been that way by default(.com)
