Quick-select effect buttons on the workspace

Please add the ability for a user to place quick-select buttons on the workspace for favored effects, including installed VST effects. It is too cumbersome to pull the threaded effects menu down everytime I want to choose one of my VST (or other) effects. And no, I do not want to add them to the favorites menue. That executes them. I just want to open them from the workspace...not a menue.

If it helps for now, you can assign a keyboard shortcut to open any installed effect.

TThe effects controls should be in the inspector. Select the clip in the timeline and post a screen shot of the video inspector.

I would like cut out an object using the quick select tool and drop the object into another picture. Can anyone help

I am using background pictures and want to cut out objects from other jpegs using the quick select tool and drop them into the background picture. So if i have a banana and select the object i need to copy the banana into the other background.

Select banana. Right click>layer via copy. Move tool. Click and drag to other file. Drop on image.
OR: load the background and banana in one stack (File>Scripts>Load File Into Stack). Select banana and layer via copy or create layer mask.

How does one change or remove the "create" or "open" button on the workspace?

I am using Adobe Reader XI and I am having trouble changing the main toolbar. The first button seems completely immovable. In my case it is the "open" button, with an actual written label next to it. It takes me to a place where I was supposed to "Access all my files". Which is something I do not need. It takes up a lot of space though.
Most screeenshots I have seen show the "Create" button in this place. I don't have (or need) that.
Can you advise me on that?

Because I don't have an 'Open' icon in my Reader 11.0.10 toolbar:

HT1600 I have Apple TV version 7.4.2 and we pressed on the remote the select button and the menu button at the same time to update our software. The box shows white light, we can get the screen to select netflix but nothing will move and the box will not

I have Apple TV version 7.4.2. We read in a blog that in order to reset our Apple TV we should press the menu button and the select big button at the same time which we did. Now when we attempt to turn on the apple tv box it with the remote we get a white light and sometimes we can get the menu screen but the remote will not let us move now will it allow us to turn the apple tv on or off. If we just leave it alone, the white light eventually goes away. I did unplug the apple tv and we removed the batteries and reinstalled them from the remote and that did not make any difference. Please advise.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

Scripting the path in Quick Selection Tool

Hi,
I'm trying to build a JS script which:
1. opens an image
2. selects the quick selection tool
3. does the selection following a pre-defined path
4. puts the unselected area to white
5. saves the image
The problem is in step 3. All the other steps can be recorded with ScriptListener, but the path is not. So the question is:
How can I tell to my script a path to follow while using Quick Selection?
How can I do it, for example, with a very simple path, say a line from pixel (50,50) to (50,200)?

This would select the first path and stroke it with the Quick Selection Tool, for the second part it uses the Action Manager recorded with ScriptingListener.plugin.

PS CS 5.1 crashing when I use the Quick Select took in the neg format

I am using PSCS5.1 and when I use the "quick select" tool and use the "Alt" key to turn it to the negitive so that I can cut out stuff I do not want to select I get a message that say's "Adobe PSCS has stopped working" and it closes down the whole program! I'm using a PC with Vista.

Theresa, it could be helpful if you'd go look in your Windows Application log for error entries corresponding to the Photoshop crashes.
Click Start, type event viewer into the search box, and click Event Viewer when it comes up.
Navigate into Windows Logs > Application, and look for red Error entries.
When you find the one(s) for the Photoshop crashes, look at the info in the General tab specifically for faulting module. List the name(s) immediately following faulting module here.

Easy configuration of the workspace

I'm sure this is already in the 700+ feature requests, but I can't find it!
I would like to be able to configure Lightroom in a very easy way to my desired workspace view. In particular:
- I want to be able to specify the initial workspace configuration for Lightroom every time I start it. This includes being able to hide things like the Windows toolbar.
- I want to be able to store a few other workspace configurations that I can select VERY easily, perhaps with a single key or mouse click. (I only need 2 or 3 or so).
I'm not asking for anything completely new. For example, if, (after starting Lightroom), I do "F" "F" "F5", I get a useful use of my screen space. I would like to be able to say "when Lightroom starts, please always act as though I have done "F" "F" "F5"".
(It might even be possible to override the last setting of (for example) Loupe versus Grid mode, but that is an optional extra, and not as important, so don't be inhibited by that suggestion).
Then it would be good to be able to set a key or button to say "now act as though I had done "X" "Y" "Z" after starting Lightroom". Or to save the current workspace configuration in a way that could be called up with a single key or button.
The workspace configuration features I am particularly interested in being able to configure in this way are those set by:
- Tab
- (perhaps) Shift Tab
- F (or F F)
- (perhaps) L (or L L)
- F5
- F6
- F7
- F8
- T
So I am asking for rapid, even default, ways of triggering those effects.

Workspaces as in Photoshop/Bridge (i.e. physically reposition panels, etc) would require a rethink on how the UI is actually structured, which I don't think will happen. However, within the constraints of the existing structure I think Workspaces have been a long time objective.

Forcing a symbol within a symbol to play out when a button on the main timeline is clicked?

I have a buttons that play to symbols on the timeline. Once another button is clicked on the timeline the symbol will playout then start playing the next symbol. This is the code used on the onClick event on the introduction button.

The problem I'm having is with the technology symbol. I have buttons within this symbol that link to other symbols. I would like these symbols to playout like the other buttons, but the content of the symbol stays on the stage and does not play out when I select a button on the Stage. Here is the code I have on the click event on the button within the symbol.

Thank you very much for responding so quickly! When I do this all of the nested timelines play from the out label on their timeline. I want the one that is currently being viewed to be the only one that plays out, not all of the symbols within the symbol. Here is the code I'm using on the buttons on the main timeline:

LOV "Quick Select"

When creating an LOV, what causes the "Quick Select" item to appear? What determines the order of the Quick Select item with respect to the LOV columns? Right now, the Quick Select appears immediately to the right of the radio button, and to the left of the LOV fields. I want it to appear to the right of the LOV fields. How do I change it?

We are planning to provide the requested feature (adding the Quick Select item as the last column in results table)in a future version of OA Framework.

Quick Select icon

Hi,
I am using adf on Jdev 10.1.3
I want to show a quick select icon next to the radio button in tableselectone
I added the icon to the .AFQuickSelectIcon skin selector, but even then the icon is not shown.
The tableselectone has autosubmit set to true
Is there something else that I have to do to get the icon to be displayed?

according to the skining docs, this icon doesn't work for the tableSelectOne table. Note that .AFQuickSelectIcon is not a selector but a class

Quick Selection Inquiry

On my original image, I quick select a part of the image (sky). I then change the hue/saturation to give the image a better effect. Once I've done this, I add on a new layer and quick select the sky to now change the levels. Then I'll add on a new layer, quick select the sky again, to do another effect on the sky. My question is, do you have to quick select every time you need to make a new adjustment of some kind? I'm sure there's a way to get around this (probably has something to do with the mask in the layers?). When I'm quick selecting something that's intricate and takes a long time to do the way I'm going about things is very redundant. Thanks for your help!!

Your on the right track. A selection can be saved as a mask, an alpha channel or moving/copying to a new layer. Which one you choose depends on the project and what your use to using.

Quick selection tool always contains minus sign

I am obviously not a very experienced Photoshop user and I have a question about the Quick Selection tool. I am using CS6 on a Mac with OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
I watched a couple tutorials and my system is behaving differently. In the tutorials I watched, when the quick selection tool is chosen the "brush" contains a plus sign. If too much area is selected, that can be corrected by holding the option/alt key and this changes the brush to a minus sign. On my computer, when I select the tool the brush always contains a minus sign. I think the tool is working OK but I wonder why I never see the plus sign inside the brush.

Be sure the tool isn't set to subtract in the options bar. Otherwise, try resetting the tool by right- or control-clicking the blue arrow just to the right of the tool preset (under the blue PS icon in the below screenshot) to reset the tool.

Use VBA to place signatures in a word document by selecting radio buttons

I created 2 frames with 4 radiobuttons. The document writer can select one button in the frst frame with the names of het directors and none or 1 in the other frame. How can I relate the choosen radiobuttons to pictures of the signatures and place
them in a table in the word document?

I don't understand what you are saying. I do this from a form. The user selects a signatory from a combobox. I look up the corresponding png file in a database and insert a picture, signatory name/position in doc at specified bookmarks
in the template. This is the code to insert picture at bookmark.
