Quick switch from local to bluetooth headset

Is there some shortcut or some other way to easly switch sound from iMac speakers to a bluetooth head set?
Right now I have to go into properties and change the output device under sound.
thanks Rohit

You have to delete the device from iSync first. Then go through the "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" (accessed via the "Set up new device" button in the "Devices" tab of the "Bluetooth" preferences pane) to pair your phone via Bluetooth and set-up iSync to use Bluetooth.

    I don't think I can restore the back up from iCloud, because I did not back it up to iCloud before the update to OS 6.1.4.  I don't think this is related to voice samples because it seems to cut in and out, like Siri is not 'hearing' me, due to a problem with the microphone.

  • Switching from local to central SLD

    I installed the ESS business package with a local SLD. Now there is another SLD server we need to use (a central SLD instance). Can we switch easily from an existing local SLD instance to a remote SLD instance?
    Tiberiu

    Hi Tiberiu,
    It's a while since this message was created. Have you solved your problem? I have our SLD's set slightly differently to the suggestion made earlier, although I would say that I'm an expert in this area. For dual stacks I have the CIM.... tab pointing at itself and the HTTP tab pointing at the central SLD. This seems to work for us in all cases where there is a dual stack. We are having a few issues in java only systems which we are trying to solve. At present both tabs point to the central SLD and "seem" to be working!!

  • Help Switching from Local to Microsoft account.

    So I just recently bought this Asus T100. I set everything up and it was working fine with my microsoft account. Then a few days later, when I used my mail app a message said that said to try again later. I tried to
    log back in a few days later and it said the same. It then said the same thing when using the music app. I searched online and it said that I should switch my password. I did that but no luck with signing in. So I decided to switch to a local account then
    log back in to the microsoft account to maybe get it to the way it was. It now gives me either an error saying that the service is unavailable or it get that it cannot switch error code 0xd000072. I've gotten it so many times I have it memorized. Anyway, I
    have tried doing the troubleshooter and tried doing the firewall thing and still no results. It seems like everyone gets their error resolved after the use the troubleshooter, and not me, sigh. I have no clue what to do to resolve this issue. What shoulld
    I do now?

    That is frankly the first thing I would have checked.  Norton has a nasty reputation for inconsistencies like this and BSOD'S
    You cant disable it you have to un-install it (put it back after if you must)
    Symantec  is a frequent cause of BSOD's.

  • Error when switching from local host IP to true IP

    I'm using the basic java.net.ServerSocket and java.net.socket arrangement to make a very simple chat program (planning to build a mutlithreaded client/server a little bit later). For most of my testing, I've specified the IP for the client socket to connect to as:
    Socket mySock = new Socket("127.0.0.1", 10101);
    This would always work. However, when I moved to using this
    Socket mySock = new Socket("xxx.xxx.xx.xxx", 10101);
    or
    Socket mySock = new Socket(InetAddress.getByName("xxx.xxx.xx.xxx"), 10101);
    Both the server and the client blocked before this point:
    Client -> See above lines (creating socket)
    Server -> Socket sock = myServerSocket.accept();
    Both the client and server are executing on the same machine. If I move the client to a different machine, while it connect properly then? Would a firewall block execution of this class in this manner?

    If the server program is running on a machine at port PP whose IP address is xxxxx and you have a html page that resides in the same directory as the server and the client, and the html page properly refers the client class, then there shudn't be any problem in accessing the applet using http://xxxxxx/myhtml.html Check each and everything one by one.

    I have paired my Motorola Bluetooth earphone to my new iPhone 5c. How do I switch from phone to bluetooth during a phone call ?

    While on call, check the screen and tap on the source for the output, in your case, Bluetooth device. After that continue the call using your earphone.

    I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5.  I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s.  However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call.  I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss.  The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens.  All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.
    Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue:
    This is a link to someone using the Motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issue
    https://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c
    If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported:
    http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review.
    Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
    Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
    I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue.  I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web.  Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.

    here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
    There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
    Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

  • Is there an easy way to switch iPhone microphone input from headphones to Bluetooth and back?

    When driving I plug my iPhone into the car stereo AUX jack with a cable to listen to music. To receive or make phone calls, or to use Siri, I use a Bluetooth (Jawbone) headset.
    If I'm playing music out the headphone jack and then answer a call, when the call ends the music starts playing again through the Bluetooth headset, so I have to switch it back to headphones. Theoretically no big deal, since there's the little airplay icon at bottom right in most music apps. Still, I really wish it would revert to playing through the headphone jacks and I didn't have to do anything. Is that possible?
    But it gets more annoying. Let's say I decide to use Siri and want to use the bluetooth. This is fine IF I plugged the headphones in before connecting Bluetooth, but for some reason it often seems to happen that it defaults to the headphone jack, especially if I've been messing with it a bit -- say I was listening to music, then received a call, then hung up, so now music plays through Bluetooth, so I hit the icon to switch music back to headphones, though sometimes this doesn't work and I have to unplug and replug in the headphones. But now usually if I want to use Siri, and I hold down the iPhone home button, or even if I hold down the jawbone button, it will often take input still from headphones.
    I can't go into all the variations of this that happen, but almost every car ride there's a pain about this -- someone calls but even though I answer through my headset, the input is still from the headphone jack, and i have to scramble to get the call going through Bluetooth again. Or I have to unplug then replug the headphones after Siri use. None of this even covers something other, like dictating text or making a voice memo, something else that need simply but DOESN'T have an AirPlay-style button on bottom right like the music apps do. Really a pain.
    Really wish there were some easy switch to toggle the input.
    And again, really wish the music would just go back to playing where to was playing from (headphones) instead of making me switch it either via a button or through unplugging/replugging headphones.
    Any solution to this?
    Thanks.

    Sometimes you turn off your Bluetooth and then back on and it doesn't reconnect with your phone unless you go into the menu. Either way doesn't help much if someone calls you while you're driving and you realize your iPhone is stuck on headphone input.

  • Iphone bluetooth headset stops bluetooth keyboard from connecting

    has anyone else had a problem using an iphone bluetooth headset in close proximity to an bluetooth keyboard? If i wake up or boot up my macbook pro when my headset is switched on and close by, the keyboard will not connect to the mac! any ideas anyone please?

    Hi.
    I have found that having my WiFi on at the same time I try to pair with my Plantronics 925 prevents me from hooking up. If you have WiFi you may want to turn it off why you pair. Once paired you can then turn your WiFi back on with no problems.

  • Utility to switch between Bluetooth headset and built-in audio input/output

    I'm looking for a utility that will switch the Sound preference settings between my Mac's built-in audio input/output device and my Bluetooth headset for use with applications such as Skype.
    The way I envision it working is that I would click an icon at the top of the screen and it would toggle the Sound preferences settings from
    Output = Line Out (or Digital Out)
    Input = Line In (or Digital In)
    to
    Output = (my Bluetooth headset)
    Input = (my Bluetooth headset)
    or vice-versa.
    That's it. It doesn't need to automatically detect my headset as I might be using the headset on another device. Just a button that would toggle between the built-in and Bluetooth device settings.
    Has anyone seen anything like this?

    Thanks, it works great.
    It would be even better if one could define device groups. e.g. Headset, built-in devices, etc. I'll drop a note to the developer.

  • Skype reverts to speaker after pc restart from Bluetooth headset and its mic.

    I have set Skype for Windows to automatically switch to Bluetooth headset and its microphone when is on and when headset is off to switch back to speakers. But after pc restart it switches to speakers. What should I do?

    Yeah this is the same problem I had. Just go and get a replacement.
    Dont think too much about other solutions. Its apple's headache not ours.
    But I enjoyed the 1 week testing I did on the first phone I got. For me with bluetooth paired phone it was exactly from the second call and if its wired headset that is connected, then from the third call you make, there wont be any audio (goes to the speaker). Clearly a software bug, but just confused why not all phones have this issue.

    HM1200, BH99b, JabraBT2045 bluetooth headsets do not play music from ipad, ipod touch 4th generation, although it does pair ok. Why is that if it is compatable, why it does not play any music or sound via bluetooth headsets.  When I pair the headsets to Mac it does play music via bleutooth headsets!  Please help me!  Also, how to connect several or two bluetooth headsets to one device: Mac, or iPad iPod touch 4th generation? Please, reply as soon as possible!

    Your iPad has built-in WiFi. You cannot and don't need to use the USB dongle.
    Look in Settings > WiFi. Find the SSID of your wireless router, tap it's name and enter the WiFi password.

  • H7000 Bluetooth headset - No audio from microphone in Windows 8

    Recently I bought a new HP H7000 Bluetooth headset. After I successfully paired it with my laptop (HP EliteBook 8470p, running Windows 8 and the Broadcom Bluetooth driver downloaded from Broadcom's site), I can hear audio from the headphones, but the microphone part doesn't seem to be functioning, it doesn't pick up a signal no matter how loud I speak.
    When trying the same headset on the same laptop running Windows 7 SP1, the microphone is working perfectly.
    In Windows 8, the Headset Microphone is Enabled in the Sound settings' Recording devices, and is set as Default Device. The Internal Microphone Array device (the laptop's built-in mic) is picking up audio no problem, so that part of Windows 8 is functioning properly. So there seems to be no issue with any of the settings, I went them through several times.
    It's just the H7000 headset's mic under Windows 8, that is having the problem.
    Anyone met this scenario, or even have a fix?

    I managed to narrow it down to the Broadcom Bluetooth chipset driver in Windows 8.
    Finally I ended up disabling it, and buying a USB Bluetooth micro-dongle with an Atheros chipset. With this, the headset works fine.
    It is still ridiculous, to solve such a problem with additional investment, but this is not HP's fault it turned out.
    I'll try to contact Broadcom's customer service, and keep an eye open for any Win8 driver updates on their support website.
