Quick time export

I am exporting a quick time file from my CS 6 time line.
It is a straight time w/o any effects.
So it goes it up till 98% of the render and it comes up with "Unknow Error" message.
I have looked around the forums for this error message but haven't fixed my issue
Here's my setting
Format Quicktime, code H.264, Data rate of 47mbps (limit), encoding quality at 98% and turned on "Use Maximum Render Quality"
It gives the "unknown error" when exporting the tail credits.
So reduced the work area just to the tail end of the movie where it crashed and exported the tail credits and it worked fine.
So my question - Can cs6 write files of 20 GB ? I have 8GB of RAM Windows 7 machine .
I assigned 5GB of RAM for cs6 premier.

Possibly a more important question, does it work if you do it Jim's way and not when you export a Quicktime file?
Also, 47Mb/s is a very high data rate. What is the data rate of the original footage. It is seldom necessary to export at a higher data rate than the source media.

How to enable Quick Time Export in photoshopCS5?

I m trying to render a time lapse video on PS CS5 and the process works well up until the export window. When i go there the first option under file options, quick time export, is unavailable( grayed out). The only available option is Image sequence. What do i have to do to enable the quicktime movie creation or any other movie format for that matter?
i am using photoshop cs5..
my operating system is windows7.

This usually means that the relevant auxiliary components (qtserver32.exe etc.) were not launched/ initialized due to being blocked by some external influence liek a virus scanner or a firewall or the user not having sufficient privileges to launch system level services and load drivers... and of course you will need to install Quicktime in the first place.

I'm trying to import a video from Quick Time, but it keeps telling me my iMovie hasn't been set up yet. Can anybody help?

Quick time export problem with 29.97 fps

Hi Although Quicktime has an option of puting custome frame rate,I am facing problem exporting Quicktime mov files(H 264) with 29.97 fps.Can anyone plse help me out of this problem.Thanks

I have the same, or similar issues. Any effort to export 29.97 results in a movie with framerate of 30fps. Is this just a bug?

Quick time export Audio out of sync

Exporting a quicktime movie (a 30 min timeline HDV 720P) for importation into Compressor, parts of the audio loose sync. The timeline is in sync.
Using latest versions of FCP and Quicktime. Pro 2.8 dual Qaud with 10gb ram
It appears to be intermittent as I have exported other similar timelines with out problem. I am trying compressor directly but as we all know that may take most of the day even using the clusters on the mac

This out of sync problem could be related to the
klyte codec I installed which may have created problem. or something went
wrong in audio capture as it should have been a sterio file as you
mentioned.
For some, the K-Lite CODEC Pack works fine. For many more, and this might well depend on which of its elements one installs, it is a total disaster. Again, depending on what has been installed, a simple uninstall of the elements might work. In some other cases, it will take much more work to clean up after it.
My best advice is to only install CODEC's on a "need" basis. I also attempt to go to the source for my CODEC's, even if that means passing up a free one, for a paid one. If at all possible, I want no hacked, or reverse-engineered CODEC's on any of my systems.
Good luck, and do please try a Project with the proper Preset, and footage captured either in Pr or HDVSplit. Let's see if, with Pinnacle our of the way, you get better results. Please report.

i am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully, it just keeps my mac (old 1.6Ghz 2.5 GB sdram G5 still good for most stuff i need) spinning for ever but i can see compression type H.264 selected and the other setting but i can not select any other options as it still thinking but never opens! why is this happening how do i get round it?
my work flow is: 300 images shot on a 5d mark II medium jpegs opened in Light Room cropped to 16:9 then exported and opened in quick time i can save a .mov H264 giving me files sizes of 14 mb for a 16 second time lapse, mp4 9 mb. the only way i can get large files is saving as a self contained movie then i get 300mb files.
i need to save my files 1920 x 1080 photo jpeg codec as i want HD quality.
i am sure there is a simple way round this?

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?

I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files. Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea. Liable to cause problems down the road.

Can you export a Quick Time REFERENCE file from Final Cut Pro X?

Used to be in FCP-7, you could export your timeline and at the bottom of the Export dialog box, there was a check box where you could check "Make the movie self-contained," which would export a full Quick Time .mov file, or you could UNCHECK that box and FCP would export a Quick Time REFERENCE file (referencing the source media used within the timeline), which you could then bring in to any one of a number of different encoding apps.
I prefer to use Sorenson Squeeze to do my encoding, as it's much, much faster than Compressor and has infinitely more format options (Flash, Windows Media, Real, etc., etc.).
But now, I don't see a way to export a Quick Time Reference file from the Final Cut Pro timeline, er, uh, storyline, er, uh, project.
Anybody know if there's a way to export a Quick Time REFERENCE file (not a full Quick Time .mov)?

I do the same thing with Final Cut Express, actually. Only I then open the reference file up in QuickTime Pro and re-export it to an h.264 mp4. I can do that multiple times in the background vs. getting caught up in Final Cut's pathetically non-threaded user interface when it's saving/exporting.
I was going to ask the exact same question here, but you beat me to it. And so far it sounds like the answer is "no" ... :-(

Quick Time Player stopped working & Export Controller stopped working

I'm not quite sure when my problem began, I downloaded video from my Canon sd980is camera to my computer, when I tried to view the videos I get the Quick Time Playerhas stopped working "A problem caused the program t stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" and I also get Export Controller has Stopped Working. I have attempted to uninstall QuickTime but am not sure if that actually occured. Now, when I try to open QuickTime it says "Quicktime has stopped working. I am able to play music and video from my itunes. I just can't play my .MOV from my camera on computer. ANYONE able to assist??

I've got a few suspicions here, but I'll ask some questions before proceeding (to work out if I'm on the right track).
Was this the first time you had downloaded video from the camera to the PC? If so, did you have to install any Canon software in order to do that? If so, what was the name and version of the software?
When you tried to uninstall QuickTime, did you get a "fatal error" message?

Making a Quick Time for Export needs no rendering?

Is it true that when you Export a Sequence as a Quick Time you don't need to render, that it renders itself? That's what someone told me. That would save me hours of lost time! Thank you in advance.

No...rendering happens as it exports. It'll render the frame, then export the frame. It will not save any time at all. IN fact, in some cases, it adds time. Do a test. 2 min sequence...unrendered. Time it...render, then export. And then undo the renders...and just export. It will take the same amount of time.
The best part about rendering and then exporting is that you now have a rendered sequence you can play back. If you just export...the renders only appear in the exported file.

What HD (1920x1080 )file formats can Quick Time Pro export in??

Given an input video in .mov Mpeg (quick time) what codec/formats can Quick Time Pro covert it to/export in ...? I have read the user manual and they are not given. I do not own the software and want to buy only if it will work for me..... thanks.. John

How do I export a Final Cut Express 4 movie using quick time conversion without stretching the image?

I have created a movie in Final Cut Express 4 using videos and still photos of various aspect ratios and resolutions. Some of the photos are verticals. When I try to use File>Export>Using Quick Time Conversion, my images end up being stretched horizontally when the video is finally processed. I have tried preserving the aspect ratio but the video still ends up stretched horizontally. What should my settings be in Quick time conversion? I just want to make a video for YouTube.

If you shoot in one of the following modes you should be able to Log & Transfer directly into FCE:
HD: 1920x1080/60i (FX or FH mode)
HD: 1440x1080/60i (HQ or LP mode)
SD: 720x480/60i
1080/60p (PS mode) seems to be the default mode in your camcorder. FCE only supports progressive video in 720p50 or 720p60. That's probably why you have had to import via iMovie.
It would be better to upgrade to Final Cut Pro X, the version currently supported. FCE was discontinued over 18 months ago and is not supported on Lion or Mountain Lion.

FCE crashes when export using Quick Time

Hi All,
When I select "Export - Using Quick Time Conversion", FCE crashes. I tried to repair permissions and rebooted but it did not help.
Export using QT was working fine last week. I did some maintenance checks with Onyx over the weekend. Could it be the problem.
Any suggestions for fix?

FCE Scratch Disk is an external 500GB drive (it has always been and it's been working fine the last 1.5 years) External drive is connected via FW800.
In Final Cut, I use HDV1440X1080 1080i. Please let me know if you need any other settings.

Export in Quick Time Pro gives Error -43: a file could not be found

Have been successfully exporting videos mades on my camera via Quick Time Pro for many months to convert for Apple TV. However in the last week the same routine process now causes an error on export. Error -43: a file could not be found.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing QT Pro and no difference, have also tried different export formats and they all give the same error.
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

This is a old post from when I had recieved the Error-43 file could not be found. In my case I had a drive lettered F:\ F:\ when changing the drive to a single letter F:\ it resolved the problem, so something you might want to take a look at.
