Quick Time File Association, How to change ????

Hi There-
I accidentally chose Quick Time to associate my JPEG image files for all my photos, I also use Nero Picture Perfect for editing my photos, but now Nero can not open any of my photos, can someone help me in taking the association off of the Quick Time so I can see if Nero will oopen my photos? Thanks for your time and let me know if you need more information.
Sincerely- Doug Ward

It talks about MPEG but I'm sure you'll work out the photos.

  • How do you import a Widescreen Quick Time File captured by Final Cut Pro?

    Hi
Here's my workflow: I captured HD 1440X1080 footage in Final Cut Pro. FCP creates a folder of Quick Time Files in a Scratch Folder. A month ago, I had no problem importing the Quick Time files into IMOVIE HD 6 and preserving the widescreen format.
Now, for some reason, when I import the same files into IMOVIE HD, it is squashing the image (stretching it vertically) and leaving a gray bar on the left side of the screen.
Can IMOVIE HD import Widescreen QT files created by FCP? If so, how?
    All help appreciated.
    Phil

iDVD does everything automatically for you. With DVDSP and Compressor, all steps must be done correctly. The trade off is that you achieve better quality using Compressor over iDVD.
    1. First thing to do is export your sequence as an uncompressed interlaced 25i 720 x 576 16x9 Anamorphic QT.
    2. Determine your optimal bitrate by using a bitrate calculator. Here's a good one. Remember you need to account for all video on the disc, including motion menus.
    http://www.videohelp.com/calc.htm
    3. Bring your down converted QT into Compressor and use the manual settings set your bitrate. Also encode out a Dolby digital AC3 file. These files take up less bandwidth than uncompressed audio. Also remember to match your upper fiiled dominate filed order as well in Compressor. This must be consistent throughout the export and encoding stages.
    4. bring your encoded video and audio files into DVDSP and author

Thanks for your solution, it wasn't quite what solved the problem but i remembered that i had a bit of salt water on my phone recently and spraying the charging port with an anti-oxide spray solved my problem, do you mind if i ask, how is the charging port related with the volume or/and speakers?

  • DVD Studio will not encode my quick time files!!

Okay, so I know that I can run my files through compressor and make MPEG2's to burn in DVD Studio Pro. But it is just an extra step for what I do because usually we need a quick time file also to post to our website. When I drop any .mov file into DVD Studio it gives me an error while encoding... What can I do? are my codecs wrong? HELP!!!

Okay, the dimensions on one of my files is 720x480.
the codec i am using is DV/DVCpro - NTSC, Integer
    (big endian), timecode.
The frame rate is most likely 29.97 or whatever
digital video is. It is not 24fps.
Well, your frame size is OK. Check the frame rate to make absolutely sure it's 29.97 (since you said it's not 24 fps) and not something slightly different.
Having your disc project set to PAL instead of NTSC shouldn't cause the error, even if you bring in NTSC assets. At least, it didn't cause errors on DVDSP 4 when I tried it just now.

  • Photoshop doesn't open quick time files

anyone who has any idea why ps cs 5 doesn't open quick tim files , please tell me.
    thank you

PS doesn't deal with compressed files that well. Try to convert it in an external tool like Quicktime Pro or one of the gigazillion free video converters based on ffmpeg....

  • Importing a Quick Time file  into FCP 5.14 file is not recocnized

Hi, I purchased a stock footage in quick time format from istockphoto. Importing it it gave me an error that the file was unrecognized. It plays OK on me desktop using Quick Time. I exported as quick time file, using DV NTSC... no luck.
Than I exported as AVI with DVD NTSC compression, and it solved the problem.
Why FCP reads AVI (Windows format) but doesn't read his own... I am puzled!
If anyone knows the answer, I will appreciate.
    thanks,

First of all thank you all you guys for your help! Secondly Apple webmasters should fix the problem with solve and helpful buttons. It gives an error.
iMovie has no problem to read this file.
Yes Final Cut Pro is a sensitive tool. This is not the first time I am running into this kind of issues. Last week I created a particle Illusion effect as HD mov file
Importing into FCP it showed me only 1/4 of the screen. I fixed this by creating the AVI file. The conclusion is (I am maybe wrong) that Apple should work on the quick time issues.
    Thanks again!

  • Quick time file disappeared

Does anyone know why my Quick time file just disappeared off my iweb page. When I click on the quick time file the amount of time of file shows but no video media? This happened a couple of weeks ago but I inserted a second file and it worked. Now even my desktop file will not play, however all other quick time files do play?

It's possible the desktop file is corrupted. Try a simple restart and/or repair permissions & then restart your computer.

  • How can I fix the quick time file zh_CN.1proj that is corrupted on my computer.

How can I fix file zh_CN.1proj that is corrupted on my computer.  I cannot delete Quick Time because of this file.

The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Turning a quick time file into a downloadable fild

I recently created an audio book as an mp3 file using iTunes and audiobook builder. Love the final result but the large size of 63 MB makes it not practical to post (takes a ton of time) and then to have users download.
iWeb returned a suggestion of exporting the file in quick time which I did. I now have two files: one for dial up connection (8.5 MB) and low broadband (20 MB)
The problem is that when I go to the web pages where these files live, I am given the choice of playing them in real time as opposed to downloading the files.
Any suggestions on how I can post as downloadable files in mp3 format?

You have probably not optimized your .mp3 file and an export to other formats could drastically reduce the file size.
Remove "stereo" from your file and you cut the file size in half.
Reduce the bit rate from 128 (standard) to 64 and you cut the files size again by 50%.
Use the AAC audio codec (.m4a) instead of the ancient .mp3 file format.
You can use iTunes / Advanced menu to reduce the file size and a text based link to its URL which your visitors can then right click to download.

  • Unable to play my quick time files to other computers....

    Dear folks,
I post again my problem. I have a quick time movie which I upload to a digital performer(music software)file, I write music based on the picture and then I bounce to quick time movie.
The new bounced file on my desktop is playing fine (by the way I have quick time 7.5.5. pro). I transfer it to my memory stick (travel drive) and I am trying to play the file to other computers but I get only sound, not video.
So my question is how come only audio is playing and not the video.
I am sure my codec is set to H.264 which is the most standard codec, right?
    Please advise what to do.
P.S. I exported the bounced file as avi (using "file" and "export" from quick time menu and I was able to play it to other computers. The quality though is not as good as quick time movie.

I have the same problem: HD movie exported from Final Cut Pro as av QT movie will play beautifully on in the QT player on the dual Mac Pro it was created on, but when trying to play it on my flatscreen TV from a Mac mini, I get sound, but just a black screen.
Format is Apple HD 1080i/50, 1440 x 1080 (1888 x 1062) (no idea where these formats come from) FPS 25, nomal size and current size is 1920 x 1080. I have QT pro 7.5.5. and mpeg-2 plug-in on both macs.
I have also tried the h.264 codec with same result. MPEG-4 codec will show video with staccato perfomance and stops, even though it plays evenly on the Mac Pro. My .movs in ordinary 4:3 plays ok, so may be it’s a HD format problem?
Juging from other postings, there is a bug in the later QT versions, but why then is it fine on one mac and not others, with same version of QT. TV has nothing to do with it, because it plays quirky on other Mac minis also.
Someone from Apple should comment on all these problems.

  • I can't see all quick time files with Maverick

I just installed Maverick OS to my computer and everything seemed OK until I tried to play my files in Quick Time Player 10.3 and also WMV (windows files) and most of them can't work.
When I use Final Cut Pro X and try to export them I can see them with no problem.
But the thing is I can't see them usung Finder. Some of them are fine.
What can I do about this?
    I will appreciate some help

I updated FlipMac and now my WMV files are fine.
The files are working fine with no problem.
The thing is I can't see them in finder right away like prior OS like 10.8 and before.
I have now VLC and I can see them but this is kinda headache doing all this when I have to check and acompare many at the same time like I did before.... all was very fast. And using VLC it is soo slow.
I also find out that opening my files with a old Quick Time Player Version, which is  7.6.9  they all work fine, I mean I can see them. But it is also very slow check 1 by one like using VLC.... same process.
All I want is speed like it was before.
Question: how can I do that?
    Some body know the solution?

Specifically, how are you exporting to mp4? For example, using the Share menu…and if so, which of the presets?
