Quick Time + Itunes Not working
I upgraded my itunes to the new 6.0 version,And now It wont open. Ive tried to reinstall itunes again but still it wont work. Next i tried to open QuickTime and it only opens for 2 seconds and then closes. I think thats the problem,But i dont know how to fix that.

hi mate well i had the same problem and ended up findin how to fix it on my own.... how clever am i...
first things first.. install itunes (the latest one), then go to START.. then in to SEARCH, click on search for documents then type in QUICKTIMEINSTALL.. it should come up with at least one or two documents double click on one of them to re-run the program one of them will complete once finished installing you should get a LIGHT BLUE Q symbol will show in the bottom tool bar on the right.. if this has happened then restart your pc or laptop, once started back ITUNES work if you double click it.. good luck if this works for you to please pass it on to someone else..

Quick Time Pro not working - Video to iPod
I have not been able to copy video to my new iPod using Quick Time Pro
In this case this is a MPEG-4 to the Quick Time Movie format( MOV )
I have followed the tutorial of exporting this MPEG to the iPod( 320X240 ) format.
The exported file plays well on iTunes but when I synchronize the iPod I get a message that the file format cannot be played on the iPod and a Help-Link back to the same tutorial
I even tried converting a MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, with the same results.
Help & advise appreciated !

QuickTime requires seperate video and audio tracks in order to produce a file for the iPod with both video and audio.
If the MPEG-2 you are trying to convert is muxed it will only take the video part of the muxed track.

I've not long upgraded my Mac to snow leopard, everything is working fine apart from quick time player.
I'll click on the logo to open the player but nothing loads/opens or appears on the screen... however the top left hand corner shows its open and a allows me to close QTP.

If by "click on the logo" yor are referring to the QT Player Finder icon, then it sounds as if the application is functioning correctly.

A movie/audio clip will only auto-load if you double-click on the Finder movie/audio file icon—not the application icon. However, once the application is open, you can open a file (or URL) from within the QT Player app by using the appropriate File menu options. -

I've got a few suspicions here, but I'll ask some questions before proceeding (to work out if I'm on the right track).
Was this the first time you had downloaded video from the camera to the PC? If so, did you have to install any Canon software in order to do that? If so, what was the name and version of the software?

1. Itunes not working, get "missing file, reinstall itunes", message.
2. When try to reinstall itunes, gets as far as "starting services", then stops with message, "Apple mobile device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I am logged in to my laptop as Administrator.
3. After selecting "retry" and "ignore" a few times, install went ahead and got "Congrats, you have successfully installed itunes"
When I went to itunes I got, " Itunes not installed correctly, please reinstall. Error7 (Windows error 126)".
4. On reinstalling itunes yet again, got, "Programme cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing. Try to reinstall programme"

Itunes not working when trying to sync ipad and iphone 4
Hello I have been having a number of issues with itunes not working. When I try to sync my ipad or iphone 4 itunes locks up does not see my devices connected I have to reboot 5 times before I can get them to be seen in itunes. Also when I am able to get itunes to see my ipad it will lock up at backing up ipad. I have removed everything apple and reinstalled and same issue. I am running windows vista 64 bit I don't remember having this problem until the new itunes came out and after I got my iphone 4. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this.

Work around for iTunes not working with shuttle
Well, I have found a work around for the iTunes not working the the Shuttle. It is not pretty, and many of you may not choose to follow my lead. This procedure has a lot of dumb steps in it, but in the end, one can copy data/songs to a Shuttle.
It involves removing the current iTunes and replacing it with a version that also had a bug in it.( I told you it ain't pretty).
Procedure:
1. Go to this url: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/ipod_itunes/itunes802forwindows.html
2. Download the old 8.0 version of iTunes for Windows.
3. Remove the current iTunes from your computer. Note after you run the remove utility in Windows, you need to delete the iTune library that isn't removed.
4. Install iTunes 8.0
Here is where it gets dumb.
This version of iTunes has a bug with the USB interface, but there is an easy work around.
5. Make sure the Shuttle is not connected when you launch iTunes.
6. After iTunes comeup, attach the Shuttle.
7. iTunes should see your Shuttle.
8. Select the music you want to upload, and drag it to the Shuttle.
9. iTunes will just sit there, so you need to get its attention. To get its attention you must disconnect and reconnect one of your USB devices, just not the Shuttle. Some folks do their mouse, one used a USB drive, and another on used is GPS because he was working from a laptop and did not have a mouse.
10. In a few moments, iTunes will do its thing and copy your data to the Shuttle. You must do this routine for each copy, so if you develop a Play List, you only have to do step 9 once.
The getting the old copy of iTunes was my idea, but a gentleman from a year ago figured out the mouse step.
I am now a happy camper, my Shuttle is full of music again.
However, I hope Apple finds a fix for the 8.2 problem soon.

One of the first things I tried was the Reset utility. After the iTunes restore did not work, I went looking for something else. After using the utility, I connected the iPod and resynced. I had left the Autofill box checked. iTunes autofilled the iPod. I deleted those songs and tried to put a different play list in. It would not copy the songs, iTunes said there was no room even though the play list for the shuffle was empty. I looked at the settings screen and it said the iPod was full. I synced the iPod to my Mac, and that got rid of the "full" indication. That is when I started looking for an older version of iTunes, unfortunately all I could find is a version with the USB bug. -

And now i really need help, cause it is really annoying to put my songs on manually!

I have resetted a ipod classic to the original settings and it will not connect to itunes on my windows 7 computer. A message comes up that says itunes not working and closes it down. What do I need to do to get it back and running so I can put music on it?
