Quick Time Parsing Error 43

Using duo processor G5, storing video on newly Mac formatted 1TB drive. Imported the first tape from a Canon ZR850 camera with no problem into iMovie HD 6.03. Put in the 2nd tape with a new project name and now continually get an error "Quick Time couldn't parse it -43". I see other errors in the discussion but not this one. I tried removing the backup battery, disconnecting all cables and resetting time, date, etc., but no luck. I then tried to import it through a Canon GL2, but got same error. I tried several other tapes that work perfectly well in the camera but always get the same error. Went through 25 other tapes, so do not believe it is the tapes. Software is OSX 14.4.9 with 6.5 GB RAM. What am I doing wrong? Need help.

I did check for plugins but found none.
I used to use iMovie a few years ago an after spending several hours trying to now import the footage remembered that speed compatibility was crucial. My 1 TB drive that I was saving my videos to was running on Firewire 800 speed while my camera was running at Firewire 400 speed. I changed my 1TB drive to run at Firewire 400 speed, and "bingo", it now works.
Thank you however for your suggestions as now I will watch my extra plug-ins as well.

  • How to Fix the following Encore Error: "Quick Time system error: number = -1"?

Has anyone seen this error before in Encore? Quick Time system error: number = -1 How do you fix it? I get it while burning a DVD. I have the latest version of Encore and the menu I am using was exported from After Effects.
    Thanks so much,
    Heather

When I start Encore I always receive a warning that I do not have Quicktime installed
Since I do not use QT in any way, I ignore the warning and Encore works just fine
I also do not use menus from AE, so there MAY be something to look at
Does Encore work properly if you use one of the built-in menus?

  • Quick Time Gamma Error in some codecs

    Hi,
I have discovered an error with some codecs when creating movies with Quick Time Pro.
Movies created using Apple Pro Res 422 and Pal DV have a significant drop in Gamma.
Can anyone confirm this? and how can I notify Apple of this problem?
Also, this problem does not exist if the movie has been created using Final Cut Pro.
    Cheers

  • Can't install Quick Time 7 - Error 1721 problems with windows installer

I had QT 6 PRO and an old version of itunes working fine. I tried to upgrade to Itunes 6. The install failed at the last step of installing QuickTime 7.04.
The error message was "Error 1721.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." So, no QT, therefore no Itunes.
    I did the following:
    cleared my temp directory.
made sure I had the latest windows installer (3.1 v2)
removed all traces of itunes and quick time, using Remove Programs, the windows cleanup Utility and manually deleting all files as listed in info article 93976.
I downloaded the standalone QuckTime 7.04 installer, tired to install and I still get the same error.
I now have no quick time 6 or 7 and no itunes, and I have no idea what is wrong with the installer.
I do have access to the install log, and am delighted to reprint it if it will help.
thanks for any help people can provide.

  • Quick Time Update Error Every 2 seconds

Every two seconds the error message from Quick Time comes on stating I need an update. There are two choices: cancel, it freezes for 30 seconds, then the same error messages comes back. When I hit Continue, the next message says it was busy. Then 2 seconds later, the old message wanting me to update, is back. The only way I can get rid of it is to click on the X, it goes away for awhile. It only comes on when I am on ITUNES or APPLE. It does not come on when I am doing other things. Any help out there?

"ITunes could not be installed because Visual Basic Script in not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBScript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBScript and then install ITunes"
Could someone help me, I have no clue how to fix the problem.

  • Quick time pro error messege -2048

Hi guys, i keep getting this messege when i try to play this film -2048
    Can anyone help?
    thanks
    kevin

It could be encoded using playback codecs only available to a PC.
If VLC doesn't open the file it sound like that's the case.
    Trash it and move on.
Or, spend more money and purchase the MPEG-2 playback component that may play the file.
VLC should "play" most MPEG-2 files but not all.
Try the file on a PC, if available to you.

  • Error:-3 Quick Time

Please can somebody help me. I have just got an ipod nano for xams and have just tried to install the software (ipod+itunes). itunes was working perfectly before and now each time i try and access it I get the message: 'Quicktime 6.5.2 is installed, itunes requires Quicktime version 7.0.3 or later'. I have just tried to upgrade itunes and right at the end of the upgrade it comes up with a message for Quick time saying 'error:-3'. Does anybosy have a clue what this means?

You'll have better luck getting help if you post in the QuickTime for Windows or the iTunes for Windows areas. Good luck.

  • Cannot run quick time.

When starting quick time I get the following error.  quick time unavailable error #2096.  When trying to remove quick time it gets fatal error during installation.

What kind of videos?  Flash videos like on youtube?  Then you need to install Adobe Flash player.  Other kind of videos?  Maybe you should install Perian.  And perhaps you would have better luck using another video player like VLC.

  • Using Firefox 7.0.1 & am trying to clear cache, because Firefox crashes during online college courses (Firefox 3.0 or higher is a supported school browser), and I keep getting an error message about 'Quick Time.' Using pc - Windows 7 Home 64 bit.

As soon as I open up Firefox - it crashes on me. It takes me at least two or three attempts. I downloaded Firefox from the Firefox website and also use it for Facebook. I am wondering if it is because I also alternate between using IE as well? While attempting to open my school e-text, a message popped up that if experiencing problems opening my e-text - then I should clear cache and cookies which I cannot do - because of the "Quick Time error message."

As you can see below, when I right click, I have no such option.  In the User Account Settings, I'm operating as the "System Administrator".
    Any other suggestions?

  • Error Message 3 Quick Time failed to install

I have tried every way I know possible to download iTunes. I have loaded Quicktime stand alone, I have loaded iTunes to my hard drive and tried to start the install from there and not the internet. I have turned off all firewalls and virus/spyware software. I continue to get Error Message 3, Quick Time failed to install. I am very frustrated with this problem as well as the run around I'm getting from Apple. I can't even update my iPod. I thought my iPod purchase was going to be great. But after the short battery life issue and now the software issue. I am starting to re-think my purchase. Does anyone have a solution to the software problem that works??? Apple even tried to blame the problem on my computer. I see from all the people that have this problem in this forum it is not my computer. Please help if you can...Thanks, M
