Quick Time Pro for Windows

I’ve got a digital camera which uses Quick Time (for Windows) to play back ‘movies’ I’ve recorded on it.
If I upgrade to Quick Time Pro for Windows will I be able to convert and export the Quick Time files to a format that my DVD players can recognize and play? If so, what is this format?
  Windows XP

will I be able to convert and export the Quick Time files to a format that my DVD players can recognize and play?
Sorry but no. DVD players require movies to be in MPEG-2, which QuickTime on Windows cannot export. You'll need to find a Windows-based video DVD creation application to be able to create disks a DVD player can handle. I can't make any recommendations, but perhaps someone else here can, or you can search the web for something like "Windows video DVD create".

How do i register QuickTime Pro for Windows with my new MacBook?
I just bought a MacBook in the last few months and just got around to register my Quicktime Pro? It says invalid registration; Can i transfer the seriel number? i do i get a mac seriel #?

Registration key for the Mac and Windows OS are brought separately. Meaning you need to buy one for the mac and one for windows. These keys aren't cross platform...sorry.

  • HT201066 Does the screen record function work with quick time pro for windows?

I am looking at purchasing QuickTime Pro for Winodiws (yes I will be getting a mac soon...) and I was wondering if the screen recorder function that is with quick time on macs is still available on windows?

Screen recording is part of QuickTime X, not QuickTime Pro. QuickTime X is only available for Macs.

  • Quick Time Pro in Windows 7

I have quick time pro 7 but use it in Windows not Mac.  I can't find a way to play a .wma file in quick time pro.  All I can see online is codec software to allow wma files to play in quick time if you have a mac.  This doesn't help if you are trying to use quick time pro with windows.
I have a movie I created in windows live movie maker and want to play it in quick time pro or more specifically import it so I can export it to a m4v file to upload the video on my iphone 4s.   The video orginated from my iphone 4 as mov but I found it much easier to edit in movie maker over quick time pro but now can't save the file as mpeg4 or m4v in movie maker so I need to be able to open the save wma in quicktime pro.

The Windows version of QuickTime Player can't open Windows Media Player formats.
The only reason the Mac version uses QuickTime for WMP files is because of additional third party software.

I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files.  Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea.  Liable to cause problems down the road.

  • Quick Time Pro for evaluation

I need to convert video files with the .MOV extension to a .AVI extension in order that videos can be read by a Sony DPF-D1020 Digital Picture Frame. I have spent 2 days trying different types of evaluation copies from different companies but nothing works. The conversion process completes successfully, but the Digital picture frame cannot read the converted files.
Can somebody help me out? Is there a place where I can get a copy of Quick Time Pro for evaluation purposes - I want to see if it works before paying $35.
    Thank you

You need to determine which codecs the DPF-D1020 can read and then convert using one of those codecs. AVI is a container, not a codec.

If you're just trying to convert files, use the free MPEG Streamclip instead.

  • Installing Quick Time Pro on Windows 7

I have purchased QT Pro and received instructions by email to download. When I click on the link ' http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/keyinstall.html ' I find myself on 'Apple Support QuickTime' with no means of starting the registration or download. Help!!

Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
If you continue to have problems, or for future questions, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.

  • Quick Time Pro for Mac FAILURE

The upgrade to Quick Time Pro was marketed by Apple as a "one click" answer and means to record movies. What a crock!!
I'm trying to record a streaming video/sound presentation, like a class. Right click on its link gives a URL.
So, one would think that entering the URL into QTPro would activate the video, but it doesn't. After reading this forum, I repaired permissions [whatever that means] using disk utilities, and it still fails. I've tried clicking on the QT controller just as soon as movie starts, and nothing.
    Now what?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm obviously doing something wrong, but don't know what.

Well you have to have an account to view ( so I didn't view it) but there are a lot of ways to get flash, the easiest being to use Firefox and the free add-in DownloadHelper which will let you copy the flv file off the site to a file and then watch it in QT or MPEG Streamclip if you have the right codecs.
Install Macromedia's most recent flash component for Firefox and also Perian.
Free, free, and free. MPEG Streamclip will allow you to export the flv to Quicktime as well.
You don't need QT Pro at all and had you searched you would have saved the dough, too.

  • Quick time pro for lion cannot be loaded?

Bought Quick time pro in the store and tried to install. But it did not work bcause there is LION installed. Then I tried to get to install QUICK TIME 7. But it did not work because there is a later version installed. The I tried to remove QUICK TIME 10. from my computer but it did not work (Software is required by the system and cannot be removed) And now?
    Regards,
    Ingo

I tried to install QUICK TIME 7. But it did not work because there is a later version installed.
If you received this message then you were probably trying to install QT 7 v7.7 (or as it is better known, QT for Leopard). OS X Snow Leopard and Lion both require a special version of QT 7 Player app (currently v7.6.6) which is compatible with the dual 32-/64-bit QT structure embded in these latest operating systems and which is the version referenced by the URL given by Niel above for installation in the "Applications/Utilities" folder.

  • Quick Time Pro on Windows Partition

Over the years, I have paid many QT Pro fees - and it has been worth the money. Now it seems that Apple should be giving me something; as you can tell by my profile that I am on an intel iMac running Leopard (which BTW runs great) - also, I installed Windows Vista Ultimate via Boot Camp another success story. Yesterday I installed iTunes and QT on the Vista partition. I assumed since I am only using one computer that I should have been able to upgrade the QT App on the Windows side to Pro using my registration code from the Apple side; WRONG! Got the notice that the code was invalid.
So what is the big deal, just because I have QT in two different places on ONE computer - why should I have to purchase another Pro version? QT on Windows does not work that great anyway.
One good point to make here; if you don't mind having to reboot into whatever partition you want to run, Windoz works a lot better going thru Boot Camp than going thru Parallels!

The Pro upgrade is sold for two OS's (Mac and Windows) and the Mac key will not work on the Windows version (and vice versa).
Even if you only have one machine you'll need two Pro upgrades because of the OS's.

  • Previously purchased quick time pro and lost it

I purchased Quick Time Pro for Windows 7 and then lost it when my computer crashed.  I have recovered the product key from my Apple account but I can't figure out how to use the key to recover my product.  It just keeps asking me to buy the program again.

  • Advice please - what does Quick Time Pro do?

I'm thinking of buying Quick Time Pro for Windows.
I have video files in the following formats: .mov (from my iphone4), .AVI, .mp4 (AVI files converted via Handbrake for itunes), plus some older low quality files in .3GP and .MPG.
I want to the do the following:
    1. Convert all the files to itunes so that I can view on my ipod and Apple TV.
    2. I want to merge some of the files to make longer video clips
    3. I want to add title menus for the clips and chapters within them.
Can I do these things with QuickTime Pro or not?
    Many thanks

    1. Add the file to your iTunes Library and use its Advanced menu to make iPod and Apple TV versions. No need for the "Pro" upgrade of QuickTime Player in most cases.
Muxed file formats (MPEG 1 and 2) will play in QuickTime Player (extra $20 software required for MPEG-2) but audio can't be extracted or exported. Use MPEG Streamclip instead.
    2. Joining files is copy/paste simple with the Pro upgrade. Save As will place all of the tracks into a .mov container but no export of the file is required. This makes it very fast and doesn't require re-compression of already compressed tracks.
You can adjust the dimensions after adding mismatched tracks in the Movie Properties window.
    3. I don't know what you mean by "title menus". You can import image file formats and add them to any supported format.
QuickTime Player Pro can import "text" which can be added to a file as both text over video and chapter tracks.
QuickTime Player Pro is also an authoring application. Two of my pages as examples:

  • Quick time PRO registration problems..

I just got a Quick Time PRO for Windows licence and when I try to register the QT version 7.1.5 using the information given to me by the eletronic purchases personnel it just does not work. The purchase information is not conserved by the software. Is there anyone that can help with this situation?
    Lemos

Ya, the administator account that originally installed QT is not the same account that is trying to install the pro key, you need to get full control
