Quick Time Pro Installation

I purchased Quick Time Pro yesterday, received a registration code and "think" I entered it correctly, with my name, in the QT control panel. Where is it? I can't locate it in my list of installed programs (beginning at "Start" and clicking on the "Q" icon.

I can't believe how horrible an experience this has been. I have spent 2 hours on the phone - being transferred, hung up on, placed on hold. No one seems to have any answers anywhere for getting QuickTime Pro to install. I purchased this morning - entered my registration key and nothing! The icon in the control panel does not say that I updated to QuickTime 7 (even though I did last night -and the version states it is indeed QuickTime 7.4.1). I have done everything imaginable according to the website to fix this problem. I have restarted my computer 7 times. I am currently on hold again - (my case is being expedited)...8 minutes have now elapsed. I will not try again when I am disconnected - rerouted, etc. If Apple has an "you can't get there from here" policy for purchases, I can just imagine the nightmare in store when I try to get my money back...in short -- I just 'donated' $32 to Apple corp.

  • Quick Time Pro installation for Ipod videos

I have been trying to download video files to my Ipod. I read where I needed Quick Time 7 so I downloaded it. It didn;t work. I was told I needed Quicktime 7 Pro. Bought it. When I followed instructions for converting my video files I received an error message saying my video files were not movie files. After discussing the issue with an Apple support person it looks as if I do not have Apple Quick Time 7 Pro. I followed the directions and when I open Quicktime in the control panel it has my name and unlock key and says Quicktime 7 Pro. However when I open Quick Time Player and go to ABOUT...it says Quicktime 7.0.3. How do I get what I paid for so that I can convert my video files and treansfer them to my IPod? Help!

QT Pro is not a separate application. The Pro key unlocks the Pro capabilities that are in the free version of the Player. You should find a preset for iPod videos by loading the source files and using Export from the File menu. Note that QT will not export the sound track from muxed mpegs, like mpeg-1 or mpeg-2. QT Mpeg Limitations
For those you will have to try some of the Windows applications that have appeared since the iPod was released. Here is the link for one of those Windows iPod exporters that should work with avi and mpeg files. It is freeware.

  • Previously purchased quick time pro and lost it

I purchased Quick Time Pro for Windows 7 and then lost it when my computer crashed.  I have recovered the product key from my Apple account but I can't figure out how to use the key to recover my product.  It just keeps asking me to buy the program again.

The QT X v10.1 app installs in your "Applications folder and QT 7 v7.6.6 (whether keyed for "Pro" use or not) is installed in the "Applications/Utilities" folder. It is recommended you keep them in these locations so they will continue to update correctly/automatically.

  • Quick time pro for lion cannot be loaded?

Bought Quick time pro in the store and tried to install. But it did not work bcause there is LION installed. Then I tried to get to install QUICK TIME 7. But it did not work because there is a later version installed. The I tried to remove QUICK TIME 10. from my computer but it did not work (Software is required by the system and cannot be removed) And now?
    Regards,
    Ingo

I tried to install QUICK TIME 7. But it did not work because there is a later version installed.
If you received this message then you were probably trying to install QT 7 v7.7 (or as it is better known, QT for Leopard). OS X Snow Leopard and Lion both require a special version of QT 7 Player app (currently v7.6.6) which is compatible with the dual 32-/64-bit QT structure embded in these latest operating systems and which is the version referenced by the URL given by Niel above for installation in the "Applications/Utilities" folder.

  • I buy quick time pro, but I can't download it

Ib bought quick time pro, I follow the instructions: I download and install quick time 7, but this application don't appear in Applications. Then when I write the activation code the page ask for buy the applications again. What can I do?

QuickTime Player 7 installs in the Utilities folder and Registration window is found under the Player 7 menu.
Use the tab key (not the return key) after entering the registration info to activate the key.

  • I am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully,

i am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully, it just keeps my mac (old 1.6Ghz 2.5 GB sdram G5 still good for most stuff i need) spinning for ever but i can see compression type H.264 selected and the other setting but i can not select any other options as it still thinking but never opens! why is this happening how do i get round it?
my work flow is: 300 images shot on a 5d mark II medium jpegs opened in Light Room cropped to 16:9 then exported and opened in quick time i can save a .mov H264 giving me files sizes of 14 mb for a 16 second time lapse, mp4 9 mb. the only way i can get large files is saving as a self contained movie then i get 300mb files.
i need to save my files 1920 x 1080 photo jpeg codec as i want HD quality.
i am sure there is a simple way round this?
    thanks guys!

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?

I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files.  Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea.  Liable to cause problems down the road.

  • How many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purchased it?

Last September I purched my update to Quick Time Pro. Now I bought a new Computer and re-formatted the old one, not being able to copy Quick Time Pro from the old to the new computer. Therefore I wanted to download again Quick Time Pro: In the settings window I introduced my program key and then "accepted". It said "Quick Time pro" below the registration line; however, the "apply" buttom was not operative. I checked and my Quick Time version was still "Quick Time 7", not Pro. My question is: how many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purched it? If I can download it more often than once, how do I proceed? Thank you for your help.

    I started this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2454706&tstart=0
but I'm afraid it's so involved that thus far, nobody has "touched" it.
However, PART of my problem is similar to THIS person's.
My problem is that I have QT on two different drives in one computer; the one I paid for [QT Pro?] and one I got for free; QT7. I fear the free QT7 might have "interfered" with my "Pro".
So, taking your advice above, looking in the "Help" "About" menu, I find that BOTH of mine another "offer" above the word "About"; they suggest that I "Purchase QT Pro"...... so now, if BOTH of my QT's say THAT, then may I conclude that I do NOT have the Pro version? I'm meaning to say that if I already HAVE the Pro, they wouldn't suggest that I go and "Buy QT Pro".... right? Is this a safe conclusion? for ya'll that HAVE the Pro, and KNOW it, does it suggest to you that you could go and "purchase QT Pro"?
    Thanks,
    LarryR : )

  • HT2240 My hard drive crashed and I want to reinstall Quick Time Pro. I have a record of the Registration Code, but can't work out how to download the Pro version once again.

How do I reinstall Quick Time Pro for the second time if I no longer have the original email even though I have the registration code??
My PC died and I want to reinstall on a new PC.

Download and install the "free" version of QuickTime Player from Apple.
Under its Edit menu choose Preferences / Registration and enter your info. This "unlocks" the Pro features found in the free download.

  • Quick Time Pro in Windows 7

I have quick time pro 7 but use it in Windows not Mac.  I can't find a way to play a .wma file in quick time pro.  All I can see online is codec software to allow wma files to play in quick time if you have a mac.  This doesn't help if you are trying to use quick time pro with windows.
I have a movie I created in windows live movie maker and want to play it in quick time pro or more specifically import it so I can export it to a m4v file to upload the video on my iphone 4s.   The video orginated from my iphone 4 as mov but I found it much easier to edit in movie maker over quick time pro but now can't save the file as mpeg4 or m4v in movie maker so I need to be able to open the save wma in quicktime pro.

The Windows version of QuickTime Player can't open Windows Media Player formats.
The only reason the Mac version uses QuickTime for WMP files is because of additional third party software.

  • I purchased quick time pro, and attempted to download quick time 7, but it says I have quick time x installed.  I deleted quick time x but it still says it is there and will not let me install.

In the optional install items-Quick Time is not an option. I am on Leopard.
    Then you either:
    1) never had QT X installed and could not have deleted it since QT X is only installed on Snow Leopard (OS X v10.6), Lion (OS X v10.7), and Mountain Lion (OS X v10.8) systems or...
    2) you are actually running Snow Leopard (OS X v10.6) and not Leopard (OS X v10.5) as you just stated.
Please confirm which statment is actually correct.

  • Image Sequencing in Quick Time Pro

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard I have been unable to get Quick Time Pro to created an Image Sequence. I'm wondering if this is an issue created by Quick Time Pro being moved to its new location in Snow Leopard.
Can anyone, who's recently upgraded, test Image Sequencing out and see it is still working in Snow Leopard?
    Here's what I've been doing:
I have a folder of photos named sequentially:
    photo1.JPG
    photo2.JPG
    photo3.JPG
    photo4.JPG
    photo5.JPG
I choose "Open Image Sequence"from the File menue
I choose the first file in the folder
A dialog comes up asking about the frame rate
    The entire screen turns black
I choose "Present Movie" from the View menu
The controls show the movie is playing, but nothing but black shows on the screen.

My experience is that the feature 'open a sequence of images' does not work in 10.6.
I ran Software Update hoping to upgrade to 7.6.4 but was not prompted to install any updates.
    Steps taken:
Clicked File, Open Image Sequence…, Select folder
The Open button is not available to click after this is done where it was in the past.
Selecting an image, within the selected folder, illuminates the Open button. It is not possible to select additional items by keyboard (shift, option, command) with they keyboard or mouse and mouse alone (click & drag).
Quicktime prompts as the OP notes but I see the image with the selected time delay where they did not.
This has been tested on a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, both running 10.6.1.
