  • I want to remove my Quick Time pro registration data.

    Hi,
Can you tell me how to un-register my Quick time pro registration key in the box when you double-click the icon "quick time" in the Windows Control Panel?
    Thanks!

Another way to clear the Pro registration is to delete the com.apple.QuickTime.plist file. You can search for it, but it's probably in the "All Users" folder in Application Data -> Apple Computer -> QuickTime.
Trash that file and it should clear the Pro registration.

  • Quick time PRO registration problems..

I just got a Quick Time PRO for Windows licence and when I try to register the QT version 7.1.5 using the information given to me by the eletronic purchases personnel it just does not work. The purchase information is not conserved by the software. Is there anyone that can help with this situation?

Ya, the administator account that originally installed QT is not the same account that is trying to install the pro key, you need to get full control

  • Can't find Quick time control panel to enter in Quick time PRO registration

I just bought Quicktime Pro 7. I installed Quicktime 7 and can't find the quick time 7 control panel. The only way to download quicktime Pro is if I can access the Qucktime control panel???? How do I locate the quicktime control panel if it is not actually located in MY Control panel?? I'm confused.

David's referring to the Preferences in QuickTime Player, just so it's clear.

  • Quick Time Pro Activation Trouble

I ran GT Pro 6 for a long time and decided to upgrade. I downloaded and installed GT 7.6 and bought the new Key. I installed and doublechecked the numbers but I get an Invalid Registration message. I am using Pro to take advantage of the ability to download video files and of course it won't allow it because Pro can not activate. Does anyone have any advice? Very frustrating. I am wondering why I bothered to place the order at this point.

Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
Also make sure you purchased a key for the correct platform (Windows or Mac). QuickTime keys are not cross-platform.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT2240 My hard drive crashed and I want to reinstall Quick Time Pro. I have a record of the Registration Code, but can't work out how to download the Pro version once again.

How do I reinstall Quick Time Pro for the second time if I no longer have the original email even though I have the registration code??
My PC died and I want to reinstall on a new PC.

Download and install the "free" version of QuickTime Player from Apple.
Under its Edit menu choose Preferences / Registration and enter your info. This "unlocks" the Pro features found in the free download.

  • How many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purchased it?

Last September I purched my update to Quick Time Pro. Now I bought a new Computer and re-formatted the old one, not being able to copy Quick Time Pro from the old to the new computer. Therefore I wanted to download again Quick Time Pro: In the settings window I introduced my program key and then "accepted". It said "Quick Time pro" below the registration line; however, the "apply" buttom was not operative. I checked and my Quick Time version was still "Quick Time 7", not Pro. My question is: how many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purched it? If I can download it more often than once, how do I proceed? Thank you for your help.

    I started this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2454706&tstart=0
but I'm afraid it's so involved that thus far, nobody has "touched" it.
However, PART of my problem is similar to THIS person's.
My problem is that I have QT on two different drives in one computer; the one I paid for [QT Pro?] and one I got for free; QT7. I fear the free QT7 might have "interfered" with my "Pro".
So, taking your advice above, looking in the "Help" "About" menu, I find that BOTH of mine another "offer" above the word "About"; they suggest that I "Purchase QT Pro"...... so now, if BOTH of my QT's say THAT, then may I conclude that I do NOT have the Pro version? I'm meaning to say that if I already HAVE the Pro, they wouldn't suggest that I go and "Buy QT Pro".... right? Is this a safe conclusion? for ya'll that HAVE the Pro, and KNOW it, does it suggest to you that you could go and "purchase QT Pro"?
    Thanks,
    LarryR : )

  • Where's Quick Time Pro?

I thought Quick Time Pro came with Logic Studio 8? Where would I find the icon to launch it? The only thing I have been able to find is the Quick Time player...

QuickTime Pro is an upgrade to QuickTime that unlocks editing and creation features that enable you to:"
"How do I get QuickTime Pro?
Once you have QuickTime, you may choose to upgrade to QuickTime Pro, which provides editing and creation features. Visit the Apple Store to purchase your key, which you use to unlock the features of QuickTime Pro."

If I DO have the " PRO " version then how do I edit a .mov or any kind of video clip with it?
File -> New Movie Recording and the edit menu (and read the manual
Or read the online tutorials and stuff, for instance:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/creatingmovies.html
It's all done from the QT Player application, utilising the underlying QT frameworks.
Don't expect Quicktime Pro to be Final Cut Pro - it's mainly a simple editing and conversion tool, as well as the regular player functions.

  • Previously purchased quick time pro and lost it

I purchased Quick Time Pro for Windows 7 and then lost it when my computer crashed.  I have recovered the product key from my Apple account but I can't figure out how to use the key to recover my product.  It just keeps asking me to buy the program again.

  • Quick Time Pro will not launch

10/04/10: I downloaded Quick Time 7 and purchased a key for Pro. I can open video files with QT7Pro but I cannot launch Quick Time from either the short cut that was created or from the All Programs. The only thing that happens is that the Apple Quick Time logo and name appear in the bottom of the screen as though the program was shrunk down. It will not launch. Right clicking on the icon only provides the capability to "move" "minimuze" or "close." Maximize is grayed out and so is "restore."
I'd like to use the software I purchased to edit my videos and use some of the other features of Quick Time Pro.
What could be the issue? HELP.
    Bill N. in Sarasota, Florida

That sounds a bit like a blown-out QuickTime preference file, Bill.
First we'll try rebuilding the QuickTime.qtp file, to see if that helps with the launch.
Quit QuickTime if the button is currently showing in your Taskbar.
We'll now have to set you up to view hidden files and folders.
    (1) Quit Safari if you have it open
    (2) Go Start > Open.
    (3) In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    (4) Click the View tab.
    (5) Make sure that Show hidden files and folders is selected.
    (6) Click OK.
Now look for a QuickTime folder in one of the following two locations (where "UserAccountName" is the name of the user account in which QuickTime isn't launching correctly):
    C:\Users\UserAccountName\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\QuickTime\
    ... or:
    C:\Users\UserAccountName\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\QuickTime\
Drag the entire QuickTime folder out onto your Desktop.
Now launch the QuickTime Player again. (This should rebuild the folder and contained preference files.)
Does the Player launch properly this time? Or do you still get the same trouble?

  • Quick time Pro

I would like to post video footage on a website, and I have them in all sorts of different formats. Can I use quick time Pro to convert them to a certain file I can upload onto the website? Thanks.

    Candice, welcome to these discussions.
The basic "rule" is if QuickTime Pro can play it, it can convert it.
You may run into troubles with some .avi files and QT Pro can't export the audio track from MPEG (1 or 2) formats. Other software is required (most of it free) to convert your .mpg files.

If you continue to have problems, or for future questions, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.
