Quick time won't load
I had QT and itunes working fine, but for some reason they both stoped. Tried downloading them but it would not install because I have a "newer version" which I obviously don't. I have deleted every trace downloaded various clean up programs but it still insists I have this new version of quicktime? any ideas
If you don't see quicktime in the programs to un-install check this out I had a problem loading quicktime.

Quick Time doesn't load.
Quick time doesn't load when needed. I have both Versions X, and 7 installed. I have also reinstalled Snow leopared and still doesn't work. In some instances especiall on Apple's web site, Quick Time will load, but I'll get audio and no video. Other times a window will pop up saying I need to install Quick Time.
I've also tried to download from the web, and a notice say that it can't install because it is all ready installed.
Quick Time 7 has already been installed in my utilities folder.Confusing when you give the wrong information.
Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded:
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
(Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".)
A Mac OS X v10.6, OS X Lion, and OS X Mountain Lion-compatible version of QuickTime Player 7 is available for use with older media or with AppleScript-based workflows. QuickTime Player 7 can be used to playback formats such as QTVR, interactive QuickTime Movies, and MIDI files. Also, it supports QuickTime 7 Pro registration codes for access to QuickTime Pro functionality.
How to install Quicktime Player 7 on Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion when it is not already present:

After OS X Snow Leopard update. Why doesn't quick time doesn't load?
after OS X Snow Leopard update. Why doesn't quick time doesn't load?
Try installing the 10.6.8 Combo update which contains all the latest updates for that OS. Be aware that there appears to be no further support for Snow Leopard.

If you have done it before it will do no harm. Indeed it is known to repair some minor blemishes in your system. -
What if quick time won't down load onto computer
Having trouble, Just bought the ipod touch and when i attempt to down load itunes it pops up with an error message that says quick time did not install completely and that itunes requires quick time. that is all the information is gives.
please help if you are able.when i attempt to down load itunes it pops up with an error message that says quick time did not install completely and that itunes requires quick time.
Let's try a standalone QuickTime.msi install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunesSetup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the QuickTime.msi to do a standalone QuickTime install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
Quick time won't play in safari
Quick Time Player won't open in Safari 6.0.
I found a workaround - You have to restart Safari in 32 bit mode. It will play QT files. Of course this just means that it may make it unstable, but where were we before 64 bit anyway.
I think those Apple nerds should get this sorted out - its been several years since people have posted the same problem, and I am not sure what motivates them, but it would help to get someone to explain the process or at least find a solution. -
My itunes was working fine one day and the next day I get the following message. *itunes cannot run because it detects a problem with quick time*. when I checked help it says uninstall quick time and reinstall. I attempted to uninstall quick time and got the following message - *The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occure if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed*. HELP!! what do I do now?

I have the latest MacBook 2,1 (1 GB) and have the latest updates installed. Anytime something is opened that requires Quick time, it comes up with a question mark inside the logo. What gives? I'm not a wizard, just a basic user.
Same thing happens to me. It happens with firefox, aol and even safari. Anything that works with quicktime gives me the quicktime logo with a question mark in it. In the preferences I tried to click on all the mime settings but the bottom one reverts back to a dash and I can't open swf files. I have to use windows media player for those. I thought that that was the problem but after the update that I installed yesterday it happens on all the above mentioned browsers. I go on the bellsouth homepage to do a sudoku puzzle every day. I can't in none of the browsers anymore. Very frustrating not being able to watch clips/ videos of any kind. I can imagine that we see a fix from Apple within the next week or two.
Cheers. -

Reloaded Quick Time Won't Accept Registration Data
Does anyone know how to go about getting Quick Time to accept the registration data for previously-purchased Pro and MP2 Playback capabilities -- reloaded on the same machine as before, after an XP SP3 "Bootlock"-induced reformat/rebuild ??
Many thanks,
Lee HuntExcellent !!
A thousand thanks for THIS tidbit. That's all it took to get QT Pro registered and running. The plugin, I fear, may be a horse of a different color however.
THAT appears to have been an online install -- both from the website and from the fact that I don't have a copy of it in my library. I spent an incredibly frustrating half hour with the support [[sic]] crew who -- even WITH the Apple Part Number -- had NO idea what I was talking about and just bounced me around from one to another until they could drop me into the "we're closed now" recording.
I wonder if anyone might know the filespec and registry settings for the plugin. Perhaps with those, I might be able to shoehorn the pig in with files recovered from the backup set rather than having to pop for a new license. I'll GREATLY appreciate any help along those lines.
Many thanks,
Lee Hunt -

Firefox sometimes loads certain sites, most times won't load.
After I installed the noscript addon, it seems my firefox won't load certain pages. Firefox also updated itself on the same day.. which of these two are my problem? Some videos will also not load(e.g. youtube videos will say an error has occurred and keeps telling me to try later). It was fine yesterday... but today it seems all messed up. and Yes I have allowed noscript to allow these sites... I just don't know whats wrong..

ITunes and Quick Time will not load after update
I have updated my ITunes to 7.5 and now I get an error message, sends report to microsoft program had to close... and when I try to open QT I get an Buffer Overrun error. I have tried everything that is suggested at these web pages but no success. I have uninstalled, downloaded, numerous times. My Itunes worked fine before the upgrade, now that I have a new 3rd generation Nano its almost useless. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the help
Did you ever get this problem resolved? I've been having the same problem now for over 2 weeks, and it doesn't matter what I do, including a system restore, it still won't launch. If I dock my iPod, it freezes and doesn't sync, I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice, and it still won't work.
I got an error message telling that some detection program was preventing it from opening, but when I tried to adjust the program's settings to turn it off for iTunes, it tells me it's required for iTunes.
This is so frustrating! -
Quick time is not loading mp3 in PC IE only...
The deal is, this is an issue only shows in Windows Internet Explorer.
The code I put in is as follows.
<embed src="http://www.newstribune.com/weather_feed/images/tribune.mp3" width="135" height="32" autostart="False" type="audio/mpeg" volume="50"> </embed>
The thing is, this code resides on an navigation include .txt file. The file is drawn on for the whole site. When I load the player on a page by itself, the thing works perfectly. See http://www.newstribune.com/left_nav/ for the whole code of the nav_left file. Here it is posted as a .html file to render the navigation by itself.
There must be some sort of patch or something I am missing...Internet Explorer doesn't use the ancient "embed" tag. Look here for more answers:

Quick Time Won't Open in Vista
Quicktime Quicktime Pro won't open in Vista:
I can't open Quicktime by starting the application. After starting Quicktime a button appears in the Vista system toolbar, but no window opens. If I mouse over the Quicktime button in the toolbar, a preview window appears, but I can't open the window. If I right click, I have the option to close, minimize, or move the quicktime window, but the maximize option is dimmed. If I run Task Manager, Quicktime is running. I can not "switch to" the window, but I can force the application to quit.
The same issue occuredfter a new install of Quicktime, before Quicktime Pro was installed and since Pro was installed. To Register Pro I could only find Quicktime in the 32 Bit Control Panel while the system is running 64 bit.
I have followed the guidelines on the apple web page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926 uninstall iTunes and Quickitme, re-install and then re-install Quicktime only. When I click on it, it flashes a message reading, "Please Install Apple Application Support."
Apple Application Support is needed to run QuickTime. There's some information on the relationship between the two programs in the following user tip:
[QuickTime for Windows and Apple Application Support|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2353984]
Is Apple Applications Support currently showing as being installed in your Add or Remove Programs Control panel?
