Quick view of full image when assigning faces

I like to use Faces versus Names because I seem to be able to crank through it much quicker.
My flow:
1) I click a project name that has not already had faces assigned
2) I click the faces icon. Then I see the "main" part of the screen with the Faces instructions, and the section under that has the faces that need to be named.  So I start naming them.  There are 100s in this project.
3) Then I come across a face I only "kind of" recognize. I don't know if they are in the background in a crowd, of the focus of the photo. I need to understand the images composition so I can skip them or figure out their name.  I would like to quickly just get a peek at the whole photo.
4) So I switch to the Viewer and it takes me to the first photo in that project.  That's no good.
5) When I switch back to Face I also have to scroll to get back to that face.
Is there a better way to quickly see the whole photo without breaking up my workflow?
Jon

Hi Jon,
There is a easy work-around:  when using the "Faces" interface, click "Skip" on the ones you don't know.  ("Skip" shows on the Image in the Browser when you hover over it.)  When done with the ones you do know, switch to the "Naming" interface, filter the Browser with the Rule "Face" with the argument "Is un-named" (this will limit the contents of the Browser to Images with detected, un-named face location boxes), and then name the boxes, or dismiss them.  I find that with "{tab}", "{Enter}", and the arrow keys I can move speedily using the "Naming" interface.
There may be better ways to do this.  The entire Faces View/Faces interface/Names interface is confusing.

  • Faces, Viewing The Full Image

When I'm in Faces and I'm looking at a the row of unnamed faces along the bottom, I would like to be able to open up the image.
    Is that possible?
Double clicking the image doesn't seem to do anything.
Right clicking only brings up Not a Face.

There are tiles on the Toolstrip which allow you to switch between "Photos" view (the entire Image) and "Faces" view (the Face snapshot {that's what Aperture calls it} cropped automatically from the Image).  These do not show when you are in "All Faces" view.  You must double-click a Face snapshot and enter "Faces" view in order to enable this functionality.  Clicking the "All Faces" tile at the top left of the Browser will return you to "All Faces" view.
    More here.
    (Added)
When there are two or more snapshots in the Un-named Faces filmstrip which I want to examine, I flag them and then go to Flagged view.

  • Full screen view not full image...

When I select full screen on the film strip, I get to see my image on a black screen with the film strip underneath.
Now, I also noticed that this film strip also blocks part of my image. I was actually expecting the viewer to automatically adjust the size of the images in such a way that all the images were fully in view (uncovered by menus etc). Am I missing a setting somewhere?

You can move the film strip to either side and you can also make it hide and reappear as you mouse over it, like the dock on a Mac. There is a small button on the film strip that is the view mode, the changes availabe are listed there.

  • How to stop from having to scroll images to view the full image.

I'm actually asking this for a friend who needs help and is a bit computer-challenged. She uses FF and when she clicks on images on certain sites to view them, they open up in a window but they are not full sized. They have scroll bars requiring her to scroll to see the entire image. Is there a way to change a setting to correct this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

You can try to reset the browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing pref to true on the about:config page.
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
You can type '''image''' in the Filter bar at the top of the about:config page.
If prefs have been changed then they show as bold (user set) and you can reset them to the default value via the right-click context menu.

  • Cannot quick view 60fps video file

After upgrading to Yosemite, I realize when I use quick view (space bar) to watch some of my video files in 60fps, it's showing it 30fps instead. When I play the files using quicktime or quick view with full screen, then the video will play in 60fps. I am not very comfortable with this new setting, because I do video editing and I need to look at many video files by using quick view function, and with only showing 30fps just very annoying for me. Any solution?

  • Quick View Broken?

While using Quick View to preview a Keynote file, I entered Quick View's full screen mode, and was unable to exit back to the windowed preview. I force-quit/relaunched the Finder, and am now unable to see any previews in Quick View (nothing happens when I hit the spacebar or cmd-Y). Thoughts?

    HI,
    Try deleting this file.
    com.apple.QuickLookDaemon.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
Might need to do the same thing for this file.

  • When I try to access a picture from i photo the picture will come up and then quickly the screen goes black and there is a white exclamation mark.  Also when using faces and scrolling down pictures some disappear very quickly after a brief look.

When using i photo and trying to pull up individual photos - the photo will appear and quickly disappear only to be replaced by a black screen with a white explanation mark.  This happens with all of my photos.  Has anyone had this problem and if so what can be done to fix it.  I did not select this graphic to be added to my i photo pictures - the blace sign with the white explanation mark.  Also, when scrolling down photos in faces some of my pictures disappear after a quick view.
Thanks for any help you can provide.  It seems like something has gotten into my i photo picture account?

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Image quality in Viewer vs Full Screen

I've seen lots of discussions about this in earlier version (pre 1.5x), but they seem to be backward from what I'm seeing. I have an extremely noticable difference in image quality in the viewer vs full screen. At first, I just thought my images weren't any good. Then, I brought the same raw files up in Photoshop and they were pretty good. I looked in Aperture in Full Screen mode, and it was close or equivalent to Photoshop.
Is anybody else seeing the image be downright bad (looks horribly out of focus) in the viewer but good in full screen? I'm not talking about the thumbnails.
I'm using an iMac G5 20". I know that my video card is probably underpowered for this, but that should only affect speed (which is mostly tolerable).
    iMac G5 20   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I think I read in the manual that Aperture uses a different type of on-screen sharpening for windowed, full screen, and show master. Probably trying to speed it up in windowed by using a cheaper method.
They all should look the same when viewed at 100%.
And for what it's worth, I think Aperture does a lot better job than most programs when viewed at odd sizes. I don't have much to compare it to, but iPhoto and Adobe Elements look awful in comparison.

  • IOS6... How do I see the full screen when watching youtube videos and second the map quality is very poor, foggy most of the time and images overlap to each other... Can I restore to IOS6 if these problems can not be solved?

I just upgraded to IOS6 and I have some difficulties that I never had on IOS5:
How can a see the full screen when watching youtube. Address bar is always in view.
Maps are foggy and some images overlap to eachother.
If these problems can not be solved, how do I downgrade back to IOS5?

No, there is no legitimate way to downgrade iOS to an earlier version.
Be patient, Apple will eventually get around to fixing the "bugs" in iOS 6.

  • Reduced images when viewing a forum with safari

    Hello all,
I was trying to view an image that had been posted on a forum that I am subscribed to, using safari on my iPhone. I know that the image is 800x600 because I saw it full size with my office computer BUT when I try to view the same image on the same forum it only shows a tiny little image that fill a tenth of the screen even if I zoom in.
Is there something that prevents safari on iPhone to display the image in full size? Maybe a setting that needs to be turn on/off?
    Thank you

Thanks but it did not open in a new window. It's directly inside the forum posts.
I would have noticed if it was a new window.
Funny thing is that I see the image in full size when the page first loads up then it shrinks to a pityful size which, BTW, is not a clickable thumbnail.

  • When I set black point on windows, the image switches between blank and full image, why?

when I set black point using windows, the image switches between blank and full image, why?

I set black point with alt button down while I move sllider. When black
dots show, I stop and back off a bit.  That's the normal result. Normally a
white screen appears until I release the alt key. In my case, sometimes the
screen goes from white to full image. It's not all the time. I view my
power and ram use as I work and it doesn't spike when this happens.  It's
as if the alt key command is not holding.  I've used both alt keys with
    same results.
Thanks for responding.  I hope you have some ideas.

  • When I try to view my full att bill firefox stops responding and closes ALL pages. I have to open explorer to view it!

I am trying to view my ATT wireless bill, and when I ask to view the full version it opens another window and says receiving data from ATT. This doesn't ever change and when I hit any key on any other window in firefox then I am told that firefox has stopped responding and must close.

No release of Pages v5 can open AppleWorks, Pages '05, Pages '06, Pages '08, or RTF documents. Sometimes, it cannot open its own documents.
You will need to do one of the following:
Borrow your MacBook Pro back until you can export all your incompatible documents to MS Word (Which Pages v5 can open)
Install your iWork '08 DVD on your new Air, and then immediately apply the following Apple Updaters. Again Export to MS document formats.
    Pages v3.0.3
    Numbers v1.0.3
    Keynote v4.0.4
Purchase iWork '09 DVD, and then immediately update with Apple iWork 9.3 updater.
Open the document(s) that Pages v5 won't permit
Save as Pages '09 v4.3 documents, or export as MS Word
Upload to Zamzar, and convert to MS Word (free for limited volume)
    No sensitive documents
Email notification within 3 - 4 minutes with MS Word document download link
After you do either item 2 or 3, run Disk Utility and verify/repair application permissions on your boot drive. Open your converted documents in Pages v5.
