Quick way to cycle through blend modes

Greetings all, just a wonder at something that has been on my mind regarding blend modes in motion. Is there any way to cycle through them without having to click singularly on each individual one? An example of what I mean is like Photoshop's keyboard shortcut of (Shift-Opt with + or -). Huge time saver if anyone has information on this.
Cheers - m

Thanks for the reply,
yeah... that's what i've been doing but thought to finally put the question out there thinking that someone may know. Seems strange, would have thought there would be a quicker way which would really help while previewing composites.
Hopefully somebody knows something.

  • Making it easier to cycle through blend modes

    Maybe there is a way to do this that I'm missing. Learning or seeing how all the blend modes work is really tedious. You have to trigger the dropdown, go to the blend mode, click it, then repeat all that to try the next blend mode. Wouldn't it be a lot easier if you could just quickly cycle through the blend modes with a slider or the arrow keys? Is there such a thing?  Or maybe a screen of blend mode thumbnails, showing all the blends for a particular overlay at once.

    Matt Stow has created a command to cycle through the blend modes: http://www.mattstow.com/extensions/Objects/FW_Blend_Modes_1_2.mxp
    You might need to right-click the link and Save As to download the .mxp correctly.  Once installed, you can set keyboard shortcuts to easily cycle forward and back through the blend modes.

  • How to cycle thru blend modes within the Layer Style dialog??

    Hopefully, we all know you can use the Shift key and + or - to cycle through blend modes in the layers panel, as well as in various tools (like the Gradient tool or the Brush tool). A great way to quickly preview your blending options.
    But what about within the Layer Style dialog? This seems to the only situation where this shortcut does not work. Is there another shortcut or workaround that can be used here?
    I'm using Photoshop CS2 (on a Mac).
    Thanks,
    Doug D.

    That's a good point.
    I guess that Multiply (for Shadow) and Screen (for Glow) are really the "go to" blends for these effects, and including any other options beyond those is all just gravy.
    I'm just so addicted to using the Shift +/- shortcut and really like previewing blending changes that way... (But it would create a conflict within Bevel and Emboss, as you suggest.)

  • I recently switched to Verizon. In some areas it goes down to 3G, but then moving to an area I know has good 4G, it remains stuck in 3G until I turn airplane mode on then off again. Is there any way to fix this without having to cycle through airplane mod

    Phone is LG G3. I find it odd that I have to cycle through airplane mode to fix this particular issue.

    There has been no improvement thus far.
    I recently switched from AT&T for a cheaper price, but so far my experience connection-wise across Chicago has been absolutely terrible. Where I used to get 4-5 bars 4GLTE in my apartment at 60640, I now get 3G if I'm lucky (have NEVER seen 1X before on AT&T even in the most remote of locations).
    I also have poor connections near my work at 60611. Had (again) a bar of 1X and the person next to me had 3 bars 4G LTE with AT&T again.
    So far plenty of regrets... and doing my research, I see many complaints in Chicago LTE services. Hoping there is a fix out there soon.

  • On a Windows PC, is there any way to cycle through open Firefox windows? (MAC can do this via(Shift) Cmd + ~) p.s. running windows8 atm

    I was wondering if there was any way to cycle through open Firefox windows on current Window similar to the following answered question for Appe OS users...
    To clarify active windows:(as in ctrl+N) as opposed to a new tab:(ctrl+T).
    There was a previously answered thread about this but it concerned those running MAC OS users running firefox.
    I was wondering the same thing but for Windows users(currently running windows8).
    Here is verbatim what the answer of the previous post was for MAC users...
    "On Mac you should be able to cycle through open Firefox windows via (Shift) Cmd + ~ (Tilde) or possibly accent (`)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4182 OS X Lion: If a keyboard shortcut doesn’t work
    System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Keyboard & Text Input
    "Move focus to next window in application" should be checked."
    Thank you in advance!

    On Windows it is not possible to only cycle through the open windows of one application like you can on Mac.
    On Windows you can only cycle through windows of all open applications via (Shift) Alt+Tab.

  • Why does pressing the L key twice (to cycle through dimming modes) remove a selected photo from a collection?

    That's my question, Why does pressing the L key twice (to cycle through dimming modes) remove a selected photo from a collection? Is my system the only computer that does this when I follow Adobe's directions to cycle through dimming modes by repeatedly hitting L? If not, how dumb is this?

    Hi,
    Check below things
    ---ManagerRendered attribute is transientAttr and type:Boolean
    ---${oa.viewInsatnce.ManagerRendered} ...paste in Readonly property of the item.
    OARow detailsRow = (OARow)detailsVO.*first()*;
    String position=(String)detailsRow.getAttribute("PositionCode");
    String firstname=(String)detailsRow.getAttribute("FirstName");
    System.out.println(firstname); The firstname is got from detailsRow correctly if I entered it on page.
    if ((position == null) && ("PRESIDENT".equals(position)))
    detailsRow.setAttribute("ManagerRendered", Boolean.FALSE);
    else
    detailsRow.setAttribute("ManagerRendered", Boolean.TRUE);

  • Quicker ways to scroll through mail?

    I don't know if I'm just being an idiot... But where are the arrow keys to quickly scroll through mail etc? It's taking me ages to click on each email whereas on my phone can go through them quickly. And advice?

    You can swipe up and down the list in the preview windo on the left when you are in landscape view. If you tap the top of the screen in the center of the preview list - you can quickly scroll back to the top of the list.
    From what I can see - and frankly I never paid much attention to it, you do not have the arrows in lanscape view except for when the emails have been in threaded view - when you respond to an email - you get another response - and so on. So apparently I was wrong about that. I picked the wrong email to experiment with.
    Use the swipe up and down method in landscape view.

  • I thought there used to be a way to cycle through bookmarks and delete all those that have died, but I can not find it; ?

    Simply that I remember years ago that I had an option which would try to open each bookmark and delete all the dead ones.
    I would like it back.

    The [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkplaces/ CheckPlaces] add-on might help.

  • Changing from "Pass Through" as Default in Blend Mode in a Group Folder Layer Set

    Hello Forum gurus!
    Using a MacBook Pro, 10.5.4. Painting with CS2. My question is two-fold.
    When the Group layer folder in a layer set is selected, it is displaying the "Pass Through" blend mode by default. Is there a special convenience to this? (Best use for pass through blend mode)
    Also, How may I change the default in this mode to be "Normal" as the setting when creating a Group folder layer set?
    Thanks!!
    Colene

    Matthias, now I understand. We're both right from different perspectives. If you want the adjustment layer (should there be one within the group) to affect all layers below the group (perhaps because that's the way the image looked before you made the group in the first place), then Pass Through is your blend mode. If you want that adjustment layer to affect only those layers within the group (which I often do), then Normal (or some other) is your blend mode.

  • Blending mode help please!!!!!

    Hi everyone.
    I'm now using a mac for indesign and I've found that to preview different blending modes (normal-multiply-screen etc) on an object I have to click on each mode separately. Is there any way you can cycle through them and see the results? - In photoshop you press shift, and then + or - and it will cycle. - This way is far quicker and less fiddly!
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Chris.

    That's very strange, I'm nearly sure I got that tip from someone who works with Mac Os?
    I find that if I call up the panels with a shortcut key the first field is highlighted, I can then Tab around the panel.
    If I click withing the Panel at any stage, then the tab key hides all the panels.
    Sorry it doesn't work for you, cycling the blend modes is great, sometimes I know I need Multiply, but I cycle them anyway to see if anything looks better.
    Maybe someone who is Mac orientated knows of another way.

  • Cycle through key commands?

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying to assign a key command but am having a hard time doing so. I'd like to assign the "turn alias into real copy" key command with some modification of the letter "K" as I use "K" for turning loops into real copies, but the key commands window will not show me all uses of K.
    For example "Shift-K" is assigned to "select by channel" in my arrange/event editors, but when I type "Shift-K" in my key commands window nothing comes up!
    Thus I'm wondering is there an easy way to "cycle" through all the key commands that use K? I'm probably missing something really simple here, but project deadlines have me freaking out so I apologize.
    Thanks for putting up with me

    Thanks as usual guys. Man, what a crappy bug, especially when you need to work quickly, the last think you need is frustration coupled with feelings of retardation.
    Since I have you guys here, I'd like to ask another question if I may. I'm using multi-recording (i.e. recording enabling multiple tracks) to quickly realize ideas (e.g. recording pizz bass & cello lines at the same time) and when I do it creates one "real copy" and an alias of all other recorded parts. Is it possible to either turn off alias parts so it records all "real" parts, or if thats not possible, to have the alias copies at least keep their track names? As it stands now my cello parts all have "bass" as their names, which gets confusing while using the event editor. Of course I can manually change their names, but I'm looking for time savers here! :=)
    Thanks again everyone!

  • How to create a small field that cycles through a series of images. (using Acrobat Pro)

    Using Acrobat Pro, we need to use a small field to track student progress.  With successive mouse clicks, the field would cycle through:
    -- a number (that identifies an element of study),
    -- same number surrounded by a circle (indicates element is assigned to the student),
    -- same number with a check mark (indicates element was completed by the student),
    -- back to the original number.
    This could probably be handled by cycling through a series of small images when the user clicks on the field.
    The "Check Box" field allows only a check to be added to the field.  It does not allow the circle and does not cycle through multiple states.
    The "Text Box" field might allow this capability, but if so we are not able to configure it properly.
    Any solutions?   Thanks!

    Thanks Michael,
    The information at the link you provided enabled us to create a button that cycles through a series of ASCII characters.
    This us useful, but we need to cycle through a series of images.  A more difficult problem.
    FYI, an example of the javascript that cycles through a series of ASCII characters is shown below.  (The "else" statement pertaining to a null "" buttonGetCaption state is used to initiate an initial state of "1" for the button when the form is first opened.).
    if
    (event.target.buttonGetCaption()=="1"+"\u2714") {
        event.target.buttonSetCaption("1");
        event.target.textColor = color.black; }
    else if (event.target.buttonGetCaption()=="") {
        event.target.buttonSetCaption("1");
        event.target.textColor = color.black; }
    else if (event.target.buttonGetCaption()=="1P") {
        event.target.buttonSetCaption("1"+"\u2714");
        event.target.textColor = color.green; }
    else if (event.target.buttonGetCaption()=="1") {
        event.target.buttonSetCaption("1P");
        event.target.textColor = color.red; }
    loop
    Again, we are still looking for a way to cycle through a series of images so any help with that problem would be appreciated.

  • Blending Mode Inside Composition

    I have CS4 AE. I imported a layered PSD file which brought in all my layers, in addition to automatically making a composition out of all the layer groups. So far so good. However, why is my multiply blend mode on one of the many layers not honored when inside of these group layer compositions? When I open up the composition itself with all the individual layers, the multiply blend mode is indeed assigned.
    If I put into the timeline just the individual layer with the multiply, it works. It doesn't when inside of those automatic group layer comps.
    Can anyone shed some light?
    Thanks!

    >However, why is my multiply blend mode on one of the many layers not
    >honored when inside of these group layer compositions?
    Because AE is not Photoshop! Just like Andrew said, you need to tell AE to pass through blending modes. The principle is simply reversed - in AE you turn this off when you tweak the group blend properties, in AE you need to explicitly turn it on.

  • Blending mode in a precomp

    Main Comp: Has a paper background, and a nested comp
    Nested Comp: has a video, and a couple flourishes.
    I want the flourishes to have a blending mode that blends with the paper.
    When i place the nested comp into the main comp the blend does not take place.
    THANKS

    I want the flourishes to have a blending mode that blends with the paper.
    Enable the continuously rasterize/ collapse transformations switch. Passing through blending modes is one of its many functions, though people usually forget about it. However, it still is dependent on a certain logical order - if your flourishes are above the footage and do not extend beyond the boundaries of the video, the "Normal" blending mode of the footage will override pretty much the rest and the result be no different than with the CR/CT switch off...

  • Cycle through window missing

    On Yosemite, many applications don't have any more the item "cycle through windows" inside the window menu, and the corresponding keyboard shortcut!
    The problem is (for example) in these applications:
    - textedit
    - safari
    - mail
    - firefox
    - word
    (note that in finder the menu exists and also the shortcut in the keyboard system preferences panel)
    So, the only way to cycle through windows is selecting from the window menu, selecting the desired window name

    I need to use this layout due to my main language. How did you address this? I constantly need to type characters like ç and ã or á é í ó ú and without that layout I could not.
    There is no need to use the US International PC layout to type those characters.  With the normal US layout you can type them by just holding down the key for the base letter and selecting what you want from the popup menu that appears (10.7 and later).
    Otherwise you can always use the standard Apple option/alt key shortcuts:  option/alt + e, then e produces é.  option/alt + c produces ç.  option/alt + n, then a produces ã.
