Quicken 2007 and Yosemite
AFter I updated to Yosemite on my Mac mini, and opened my quicken 2007 for the first time, it was my data from 2012 not from September 2014 when I last downloade. This has happened before on other versions of quicken on other operating systems and I don't know how I fixed it before but I am in a slight panic. Can I go back in time? Is ther a way to access the last time I worked on it without having to re import all downloads in past 2 years? Help!
If you have a Time Machine backup, go back to before installing Yosemite and copy the data file from that time. I had no issues with my data file, but then I have multiple copies, since I prefer running copies on the different OSs.

Can someone help with Quicken 2002 to 2007 and MacGourmet?
I just upgraded my OS to 10.8.2 and I had some major issues with lost data for Quicken 2002 and MacGourmet. I can't figure out how to retrieve the files for both programs. Everything is backed up on TimeCapsule; but the new OS is a bit of a learning curve for me. I just got Quicken 2007 and MacGourmet2 as the guy at the Apple Store thought that those would allow me to bring the olde data into the new programs. However, as of many hours of trying, I have not been successful in either case.
Hold the home and power buttons together for 20-30 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

Quicken 2007 (either version) will ONLY accept data from Quicken 2006 or 2007. For you, as a Quicken 2005 user, you must obtain a copy of the PowerPC version of Quicken 2006 or Quicken 2007 and that program will convert your Quicken 2005 data file to one that will open in Quicken 2007 for Lion.
Intuit, which formerly used to provide copies of Quicken 2006 or 2007 (PPC) for such purposes has gone MIA (consistent with OldMacFan's observation that Intuit does not want you to find the $15 upgrade page either! To find that link - I always have to Google "CNET Quicken 2007 for Lion" and in the first listed result, Topher Kessler's review of the program for CNET has the link!)
Consequently, go to this blog and post a comment for Ferd to send you a copy of Quicken 2006 or Quicken 2007 (PPC) and when you receive it, you must run it on a Mac that supports Rosetta and PPC software:

Then when you upgrade to Mountain Lion, your data file will open normally with Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mountain Lion.

Does anyone know how long Intuit will continue to support Quicken 2007 for Mac? The new "Quicken for Mac" released this year has no relationship to the old Quicken. It's minus so many features I can't imagine why they bothered to put it out. I'm still using Quicken 2005 which I know is not going to be supported for much longer, and I wonder if I should buy Quicken 2007 or not.
I went to the Quicken Live community and searched for Quicken and Lion.

Answer: Can't answer that for multiple reasons, but suffice it to say that there will not be a new version of Quicken For Mac that will coincide with the release of or is designed specifically for Lion.
From me: Sounds to me like there is some new product in the works, but non-disclosure rules are preventing any description.

If I download Maverick will loose all my infor on quicken 2007
I just downloaded OS Maverick and it said that Quicken 2007 would not run on my computer .... does this mean I will loose all the info I have put in on Quicken 2007? And also Word?

It appears that you are using the PowerPC (PPC) versions of Quicken 2007 and Microsoft Office 2004.
You need to purchase for $15 the updated Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks; v16.1.4):

This is a full featured version, not just an update, and does not require any prior version of Quicken be on you Mac prior to installation. It will open your Quicken 2007 PPC data files directly.
As noted, you need to purchase the updated Microsoft Office 2008 or 2011 or use one of the free alternatives, such as LibreOffice.
Another alternative is to restore your Snow Leopard environment that you saved as a backup before you upgraded to Mavericks and then install Mavericks into a newly created partition or external hard drive and use the dual-boot method (System Preferences:Startup Disk) to give you alternative access to Snow Leopard (and your older software) and Mavericks, as needed. -
After installing Yosemite Whenever I go to print in Photoshop 2014 or Word 14.4.7 or Quicken 2007 V 16.2.0 the apps crash. In word and Quicken even if I just ask it to save as a PDF I get a crash. In Photoshop if I save the file first it prints without a crash.
The dialog box that comes up says PhotoShop has unexpectdly quit and do I want to reopen it.

I am using Quicken 2007 (16.1.4) and had no problems before upgrading to OS 10.10 Yosemite. When attempting to download security updates from my financial institutions (UBS and Fidelity), I get the following error: Quicken could not connect to the server. Please try again later. [OL-290] I understand this is because of a mismatch between SSL certificates at the financial institutions and Apple's SSL certificate included with OS 10.10 Yosemite. Any fixes to this issue?
I have the same problem but Q for Mac 2015 does not meet my needs. Is there a fix for this problem?

Spreadsheet Solutions don't support bill pay as Quicken 2007 does. I simply enter the transaction into my quicken register, enter SEND instead of a check number and Quicken transmits the payment request to my bank. No double entry and no requirement to use my bank's web bill pay.
I can draw a net worth chart going back to the early 1990s because ALL my accounts and assets have been tracked since then in Quicken version up to 2007. Unfortunately, I'm held hostage by their database format. I don't know of any management tool that completely accepts a transfer of all my Quicken data. -

Anyone know if it is true that if you upgrade from SL 10.6 to Lion 10.7 you no longer can use Quicken for Mac 2007? I saw that here:

There is not nor will not be any updated versions of Quicken for Mac.
You can run Quicken for PCs on Bootcamp or in Windows on your Mac as a virtual machine. But, if you want to get away from using Windows?
This alone would stop me from updating to Lion but, eventually I’ll need to update the Mac OS. (New computer, need a future feature, etc.)

Since I really needed my quicken, I had the apple genius bar wiped out my hard drive and I reinstalled my last update prior to going to Lion 10.7 on my external le cie hard drive to my wiped out macbook hard drive. Now I am back to Snow Leopard with my intact quicken program. I am reviewing quicken essential vs ibank. I keep track of my transactions with my mutual funds. Any suggestion which is better to use or should I wait for an software update that will allow quicken 2007 for mac to be compatable with Lion OS X?

I am running 10.9.4 on a new mac and wanted to install my Quicken 2007 but when I insert the disk it says it does not support power pc programs. However, I have seen posts that Quicken 2007 runs fine on 10.9.4? What do I do now?

I use it an find it very good. It isn't as complete as the PC version, however.
There'e a new Quicken app for Macs that is available. However, it doesn't have online bill pay at this time which is why I haven't tried it. I did run the beta app for a short time. The GUI differences between the 2007 and new versions was different enough that it made for a steep learning curve, IMO.

I have a desktop MAC OSX Leopard. I want to upgrade to Quicken 2007, install Snow Leopard, download iLife'11. I heard that Quicken and Snow Leopard can clash..........that is why I am upgrading Quicken. What would be the best order of installing these products. How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4. Check the box labeled Erase destination.
5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the
Destination entry field.
6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the
Source entry field.
7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal
startup drive.
C. Important: Please read before installing:
1. If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the
update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it.
Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've
restarted.
2. You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system
software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through
other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
3. The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other
interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below)
from Apple Downloads to update. While the installation is in progress do not use
the computer.
D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple
logo appears.
5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
6. Follow instructions.
After installing Snow Leopard you should update it by downloading and installing Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. -

Yes. Snow Leopard includes Rosetta, which will allow Office 2004 and Quicken 2007 to run. Office 2008 and 2011 are Intel native and will also run under SL.

Quicken Essentials 2010 has less features than Quciken 2007. Keeping track of investments is one feature I need and Quicken Essentials does not include that function. I may have to consider others financial software, such as iBank4, Money4, iFinance, and Money Well.

I run a small business out of my home and have used Quicken Home & Small Business for years. I still do by running Windows on my Mac via VMWare Fusion. I need a product that will handle business accounts and personal accounts just like Quicken does.
Does anyone know of a suitable replacement? I am sick of Windows, but love the functionality Quicken Home & Small Business offers.
Thanks!I switched to SEE Finance last week. The support is good and they state they are going to make several more upgrades to the product. Right now, no check printing. I have been able to download from Wells Fargo with no problem and the conversion from Quicken 2007 went as advertised. Free to download and use - the $29 license fee gets rid of the invitation to purchase and register that pops up when you start the program. Otherwise, there are no features you are locked out of.
