Quicken 4 Release 2 for Windows

I would like to dispose of my old(ish) desktop running Windows XP and replace with an iMac.
My main problem is that I run Quicken 4 Release 2 for Windows. I am located in the UK and Intuit no longer supports this market. My question is: Does anyone in the UK have experience of running this software on a mac? I know that Qyucken 4 will not run properly (or in some cases even install) on a PC running Vista, but if I could be sure of running the software on an XP equipped iMac, it would make my buying decision easier.

Hi,
XP with SP2 is a neccessity if you use Apples BootCamp for installation.
With virtualization apps like Parallels; VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox you can use XP versions prior to SP2.
But since the SP2 introduced some significant upgrades to XP I would always suggest to use XP with SP2.

  • Quicken 2010 for Windows (Canadian version) on a Mac

    Hello
I hope I am posting in the right forum - if not, perhaps someone could re direct me.
I am a former Mac user (Mac SE) who had to move to the PC Windows world because that what was used where I worked. Now that I am retired I would very much like to move back to Mac. However, while in the Windows world I became very dependent upon Quicken , so much so, that I can no longer get along without it.
Everything that I have read tells me that Quicken for the Mac is not the equal of Quicken for Windows. Intuit says there is a new Mac version coming along, but even this new version will not have the features that the Windows version has.
At the Apple store I am told that Quicken 2010 for Windows will run on the Mac using Parallels or VMware Fusion or Bootcamp. Bootcamp is not a viable solution for me as I would want to run Quicken concurrent with Mac apps. No one has been able to show me Quicken 2010 for Windows working on a Mac, nor have I been able to talk to anyone who has it working on her or his Mac.
So, I ask on this forum, does any one have Quicken 2010 for Windows working on their Mac? If so, have you experienced any problems or does it run just as it would on a Windows PC?
If I can get affirmation that this vital piece of software will work for me, I would buy an new iMac in an instant.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

According to the specs, it +Works with 32-bit Windows XP, 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7+. AFAIK, all of those work on a Mac. Act accordingly.

  • What versions of Safari were released for windows?

Omniture reports Safari version numbers, but not the OS.
I need to download older versions of Safari to QA webpages.
    The platform being QA'd is Windows (XP-SP3 & Windows7).
It seems as if there were more than 2 versions of Safari for Windows.
I can only find a download for 5.1.7 and 3.1.2 - what about interim versions?

    Hi MIke,
Are you still facing this issue?
Have you tried to install latest update patch 11.0.09. Do you have any GPO's for Reader. Have you tried to disable and checked again.

  • When will Oracle Database 10GR2 released for windows?

this database release has some interesting .NET features

I haven't seen a release date yet. Probably anytime within the next ninety days.
As I recall, the Windows release was the last flavour of 10g R1 to be wheeled out. There may be technical reasons for this but I suspect it's due more to Larry's antipathy towards billg. Certainly the fact that the first flavour out of the door is Red Hat testifies to Oracle's take-up of Linux as its platform of choice.

    then reset the touch calibration.
    That's what I did.
It's what I'm pretty sure I did too - but it didn't seem to help. The Touch swipes wouldn't work. So I'm back to square one for the moment. I may try going through the whole procedure again in the future if the reports of the driver turn out to be generally positive.

  • Does anyone run VPC and Quicken for Windows?

If you are like me, I do not think the Mac version of Quicken is good at all.
Does anyone use Quicken for Windows and VPC?
If so, how does it run?

Yes, you really have to define what your needs will be and determine if it is cost-effective and reliable enough for you. In my situation, the software (VPC) allows me to run work apps that are only available in Windows 2000 & XP. Those work fine. I can use my Powerbook for almost all my Mac and Windows stuff. The fact that I already had Quicken 2005 for Windows made it a simple matter of pulling out the disk and running the installer. That said, there are good alternatives to Quicken, such as the one mentioned earlier. I like the Mvelopes program, a web-based alternative that works well with Firefox on the Mac. I checked out MoneyDance and it looks very good, though many of my financial institutions were not listed for on-line banking.

  • I want to know when the Firefox 27.0 that's not beta version will releases on Windows.

I know the Firefix beta has been released for Windows on last week.
So in the futere, the Firefox beta version will be just Firefox. Do you understand about my saying? I'm sorry for my poor skill making grammer. But I would like to know the date that the Firefox 27.0 is officially released. Thank you for listen to me. I will wait for your answer.

Is the current version of Firefox 27.0.1 a "regular version" or is it still the beta version? I had a new operating system installed on February 13th, and the version downloaded was version 27. Only having one problem, and that is blocking one cookie. I have never used a beta version and only want the regular version.
Need to know if the version as of Feb. 13th is the regular version. I have no way of finding out which version it is. Thank you for any help with this question.

Messaging Server 6.x has never been released for Windows. A windows release is projected for the future, but that may be months away.
Messaing 6.1 is available NOW for Redhat Linux AS2.1 u2 and Solaris X86. I have installed both, and find them both good.

  • Photoshop Touch for Windows RT

    Hi,
Is there any chance that Photoshop Touch will be released for Windows RT?
    Thanks!

Hello, you want to know if Photoshop Touch, rather than Express is coming for Win8 or Win RT?
I'd check in the Touch forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/creative_cloud_touch_apps/adobe_photoshop_touch but Adobe's policy is not to comment on unannounced products... But, there is maybe a list where you could put your email to be informed of disponibility.

  • Quicken 2007 investment data transfer to Quicken Essentials for Mac

Will my 10 plus years of investment data transfer from Quicken 2007 for Windows to Quicken Essentials for Mac without loss of data?

There is a version of Quicken 2007 for Lion and Mountain Lion available. If you own Quicken 2007 for Mac, it is a US$15 upgrade.
Many Users balked at the loss of capabilities in having to move to Quicken Essentials, and Quicken eventually came around and "ported" Quicken 2007 so that it could run on 10.7 and later. I run it and it mostly works, but for tax estimates, they force you to their online tax estimator or suggest you buy their stand-alone product that will accept tax info from Quicken -- no more ballpark estimates from inside Quicken.
    https://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
It appears the conversion from Quicken for PC is incomplete, and requires generation of a QIF file which is then imported:

  • Will Firefox become available for Windows Mobile 7?

I have an HTC HD7 Mobile phone and would like to install firefox

    Not anytime soon if ever.
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms#Other_Platforms
    Windows Mobile
Firefox has stopped development for Windows Mobile indefinitely. Thank you to our contributors for their continued support and feedback. The last release for Windows Mobile was 1.1 alpha 1 (download). We have stopped developing for Microsoft's mobile platform because Windows Phone 7 no longer allows developers to build C++ applications like Firefox, and Microsoft's new policies ban open-source software like Firefox from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

  • Is 10.2 available for Windows 32?

I noticed 10.2 is available as a Developer Release for Windows 32. Is that a less stable version than a general release? Will a general (non-developer) release come out soon?

You are in luck, 10.2 is out for Windows on the same day!
Well, Dev's release is not a Production release. If it is less or more stable... You have to try it out and find out!

  • Quicken alternative for a Small Business

    Hello,
I've been using Quicken Small and Business for years to run a small business. It works well and I essentially use it post transactions, write and print checks, and make end of year reports for my accountant. (profit and loss, and a couple of others)
The transfer from Windows Quicken to the Mac version is not possible. There are too many caveats and it just won't work for me. I exported my file to a .qif file and was able to import it to a program called "Moneydance", which I am trying now. It seems good and does most of what I want it to, though I was wondering if there are some more powerful programs or something else "better" that I can use for my needs. Are there any recommendations for non-online (like mint.com) programs I can use to run my small business? Thanks!

Moneydance is very good, surely good enough for what you need. IMO it's the best of the Quicken alternatives. I used it for personal finances for a number of years. It's multicurrency aware, unlike the mac version of Quicken, which is why I chose Moneydance.
That said, I'm currently using Quicken 2008 for Windows on a Virtual Windows XP PC running under Parallels. I like Quicken, more customisable, better reports, and being able to run the windows version on my mac means I can now have multiple currencies.
If you go the Moneydance route (and there's no reason why you should not) bear in mind that it's far more difficult to export your data back to Quicken than it is to import it in the first place. I managed this, but had to jump through many, many hoops.
Quickbooks is your other option. More expensive, but very powerful.
