Quickly disable a service from the desktop

why not just write the .bat using the %computername% variable where the server name is required? I'm not sure if you can specify a username parameter using SC.

I am working on building a Windows 7 image that will be used to setup our new HMIs (any discussions on proper image procedures are null and void thanks to Rockwell and Allen Bradley's tedious work to insure that their systems are exempt for many MS requirements......seriously). As these will always be Work-group systems I am opting to build a the image without sysprep, activated and configured (per Rockwell\Allen-Bradley's presented methods. Again just follow me here, this crap gives me nightmares too).As we move forward with this I keep finding little nuggets of joyous windows/Rockwell comparability BS; my current issue is that in order for me to run Rockwell's Factorytalk View Studio 8 software on the the touch screen HMI I have to disable the Touch service.......yeah, really. No way around it at all, the software chokes and refuses...

Are you using a Windows or a Mac? What you're seeing (the backwards L shaped menu) is probably the Canon Quick Menu. If you have a Mac you can go into your applications, select Canon Utilities, then drag Canon Quick menu to the trash and empty trash can. On Windows you'd go to the control panel, select Programs and Features (or Uninstall Program/Add or Remove Program) and uninstall the Canon Quick Menu. Not required for all the normal functions of the printer. You can do the same thing for My Image Garden. Also not required.

Elements organiser does not launch from the desktop toolbar

Obviously this is not a major, however it is very frustrating, and slows the workflow. When I have the editor (I have version 11) open and click on the quick launch icon at the bottom of the desktop, 90% of the time, at least, nothing happens.
Is this a known fault ? Is there anything I can do to fix ?
Any comments most appreciated !

Hi Jim
Try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
N.B. navigate to Program Files on 32 bit systems.
Drag each icon to the taskbar and you should be able to launch either Organizer or Editor with a single click.

I have 10g client on mine and it works but I can't install that on all the clients

RWRUN60 is a part of "Oracle From6i Developer Suit". If you want to run report on desktop client than you have to install "Form6i Developer Suit" on every client where report is needed.
I was facing the same issue and it was a difficult job to install "Form6i Developer Suit" on each client. So, I done the followings.
1. Configured Oracle Application Express
2. Created Required Application in Oracle Application Express
3. Installed "Oracle 10g Developer Suit" and configured "PDF Report Services"
4. Now, each user is running the application through URL and I have saved my time of installations.

I can't "unsynch" my hotmail emails from my iPhone 4.
I had this previously set up on my phone so that I only had my main inbox (no subfolders) and if I deleted an email then it only deleted it from my phone, not from the desktop email.
However, due to having to reset my whole hotmail account today, I had to delete my account from my Iphone and reactivate it, but when I did so it synched everything and now I have all my subfolders etc... and when I delete an email from my phone, it deletes the message from my whole account.
Does anyone know how to re-set this?

The only way to do that is to use a mail server with IMAP access, such as iCloud or Gmail. What you have is a POP account, which is the type provided by most ISP's.

Are you installing from the official site? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
If you use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check that path, is the Mozilla Firefox folder there? That is the normal installation location, but I think it's worth checking.
If the folder isn't there or firefox.exe is not in it, I wonder whether some other software might be interfering. You might want to run some supplemental security scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

After I create say a word document, file it on my desktop and then shut down my machine. The next time I open up the MacBook the file icon has been removed from the desktop. I can still retrieve the file in a folder labeled with the month I created it. But why has the OS removed it from the desktop and how can I stop it happening?
It happens to alias icons as well!

Remove, but not uninstall from the device? Where would they go if you did that?
Once you delete an App it gets removed form the homescreen, and deleted from the iPad.
There is no "Less used Apps" area or anything like that.
Everything you have, and you can access, is on the home screen. There is no other place to access Apps.

Are you saying that Yos/10.10, as a volume located in a mounted external drive won't appear as an option in Snow Leopard's Startup Disc, in Sys Prefs? I've never heard this one before. AFAIK any mounted volume, regardless of OS, should appear there. I would think that, if it appears in the Boot Picker/Startup Manager it would also appear and could be booted to from Snow's Startup Disk. I can't test this myself, since I don't have Yos. simply dragging from the desktop or its source a clip to the story/ timeline itself not having to use file> import media
which is a lot of steps IMHO
i notice when i do it also enters the library above where clips are seen and read to be dragged on the story line

By dragging it into the timeline you're importing it based on your import preferences. Great for single clips.

Just looking the problem in another angle.. if there is no constraint that you have to use XI specific API to call the web service, why dont you use usual Java API used for calling a web service inside you custom adapter (I have Microsoft background.. donno exactly how it is done in Java,, but in .NET kind of a language it is possible). SInce your adapter is in Java itself and is capable of calling web service.. collect or lookup the data whatever you want and validate...
Just a thought..
