Quickpull free glitch...?

I have a Blackberry 9630 on the Telus service provider in Canada.
I recently upgraded the device OS to the 5.0.0.419 version...during the course of any upgrade I proceeded to do a MANUAL backup on my device using the latest version of Desktop Manager.  I then proceeded to do my OS upgrade.
After the OS upgrade I proceeded to apply by backup file on my device and received an error indicating that the Quickpull application caused an error. I attempted this on a number of occasions and received the same error.
Luckily, during the upgrade process, desktop manager created a backup that I was able to apply with no error.
Now here's my concern...I backup my device at least once a week in case of problems that might arise...now...these are manual backups that I perform with desktop manager and is NOT a backup that is performed automatically during an OS upgrade. So my question is...are these backups going to give me grief if in fact I need to use them?  Do I need to remove the quickpull application prior to a manual backup as to not get an error ?  Is this an error/glitch that others are experiencing?  I'm running quickpull version 3.7.2
I also noticed in my list of applications that there's an application called quickpulllib version 3.6.3 , what's this? Is this normal?
I'm not sure whether quickpull version 3.7.2 was on my device when I made the manual backup as a number of applications were upgraded after my OS upgrade.
Thanks and sincerely,
G.

  • 8330 display not turning off when holstered.

    Hi,
Last week for some unknown reason, my 8330 no longer shuts the display off when holstered.  Additionally, the display no longer turns on when removed from the holster - I have to push the on/off key to turn the display on.  The holster is a genuine BlackBerry holster and the magnet is still very strong and intact.  Any suggestions as to why this has happened would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a Battery Pull:
    1. Remove the battery while phone is turned on
    2. Wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. Allow the long boot up process to finish (takes a few minutes usually)
This clears most software issues that occur on blackberries from time to time. You could also use Quickpull, a free app that simulates a battery pull without physically removing the battery: http://store.berryreview.com/product.asp?id=27660&n=QuickPull-Free
A battery pull reclaims memory lost during application usage and clears minor software errors that creep in over time. The blackberry runs an OS just like your PC runs windows and the battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot/restart on your computer.
What device OS are you running? Options>About, 3rd line down says v4.x.x.xxx?

  • Mute button doesn't work to put phone in standby mode, help??

I have a blackberry curve and the mute button will not work to put my phone in standby.  It does work to mute a phone call, however.  It has done this a couple of times, where it will work for awhile, and then stop working for awhile.  I'm not sure if I have hit something to make it so I can't put it in standby mode.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Welcome to the forums
Did you press and hold the mute button? It takes a long key press to work. Also do a Battery Pull:
    1. Remove the battery while phone is turned on
    2. Wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. Allow the long boot up process to finish (takes a few minutes usually)

  • Cannot Access HDD via USB

    Hi
I have a Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7046, had it running beautifully for a long time.  Then one day it got stuck in shutdown and i was in a hurry and 1/2 distracted threw it in my pack pack, in the trunk and left it there for maybe 45 minutes.  it was about 85 degrees fahrenheit out side.  SO I went to turn it on at school and nothing, not even the fan just the light for power came on and nothing else, dead, dud, DOH!
I had the hard drive and bios passworded and I briefly tried it in another laptop of similar make and model.  I input the password and it started to load into windows, but it was a l675d-s705_   and instent BSOD.   So i have installed it into an external adapter, usb 3.  and it comes up as an uninitialized disc.  when it tries to initialize it (which about made me jump outa my skin cause i dont wanna loose the data) just before i unplugged it a pop up said it couldnt initialize.  SO...
my question is, how can i access the hard drive, theres a few things on there that weren't on the backup i'd made, otherwise 98% of my stuff is saved as 1 week prior.   If thats not a posibility.  Where can i get a new motherboard to replace the one i lost.  OR  can i upgrade to a better one?   Where can i get the install disc as the partition for factory format is in the drive and obviously not currently accessible, just incase the new mobo doesnt work with the hdd/ wanna read it for some reason.
i know i cant thingk of anythig else atm, and if i do i'll add it to this post.
    thanks ahead of time!
    ::edit::
also does this laptop have a cmos battery, it's been a while since i checked, and im just curious

  • Internet Communication Error

I have had my Blackberry Curve for just over a year, and have had no problems. Last week I started to have internet connection problems when I tried to connect to the internet from my office which is on the 31st floor. I keep have the Blackberry time out, and receive a communication error saying that the server may be busy, try again later. However, once I go down to the lobby of my building, the internet works fine. Up until last week, I had no issues connecting to the internet. I have spoken to tech support at AT&T and RIM, but no resolution. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this problem? By the way, my warranty expired 3 weeks ago, and I do not have insurance.

    Welcome to the forums
Try turning off the mobile network and turning it back on after a minute. Also try a Battery Pull:
    1. Remove the battery while phone is turned on
    2. Wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. Allow the long boot up process to finish (takes a few minutes usually)

Do you use Quick pull free or the full version?  I used to have quick pull lite until my Tour broke and the replacement would only download the newer quickpull lite.  I don't like the screen that pops up and lets you know your phone was reset.  Quick pull lite didn't have that.  It just restarted and was there ready to be used.
I was wondering if the full version has that pop up too.

Had to get a new phone this week and it's automatically deleting emails (read and unread) although the settings show it should be keeping them for 30 days.  They're just dropping off the screen within 6 hrs(??) of the time they arrive.  Does anyone have any ideas why and how I can fix it?

  • Can't Wake My Sleeping Blackberry 9630

Hi... I recently got the Blackberry Tour (carrier: Verizon Wireless).. I set it to automatically go to sleep from 11 PM to 7 AM so I wouldn't be woken up frequently throughout the night.  However, now I can't seem to wake this think up!  I woke up early the other day and went to use my phone and for the life of me, couldn't get it to wake up!  Even this morning I went to use it at 8 AM and it still wouldn't wake.  I have to take the battery out to get it to reboot, which is annoying and takes at least 10 minutes.
Anyone experience this?  Any solutions?  Thanks in advance!!

I use 3rd party apps  "Quickpull", free and works fine

Under Options>Mobile Network, check the settings there. You may be roaming and hence your data services could be "Off when roaming" and  your network selection mode could be set to "Home only". Change these and it may work.
Other than that, I would suggest talking to your service provider since this may be an issue at their end.

  • Cannot connect BlackBerry via USB

I'm a newbie here and hoping someone can help.
I just inherited a Curve 8320 and am trying to install Desktop Manager on my Dell Inspiron laptop.
I downloaded all the software, but when I tried to install Desktop Manager, I got this message: Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer.
Easy enough, I plug it in via the USB. The BB gets a pop-up: USB charging current is not sufficient. Verify that your handheld is connected to a powered USB charging source and that the proper USB driver is installed.
The BB is fully charged, so it's not a charging issue. I tried everything. Downloading the driver separately (get a message it's already installed), unplugging all other devices. Nothing works.  I cannot get beyond that message with Desktop Manager.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.. then I tried installing an earlier software version... tried six different ports and three different USB cords.  Nothing works.  I always get the message about the charging current not sufficient and the computer does not recognize the BlackBerry.
I've used all sorts of external devices - ipods, hard drives, cameras, phones - with my computer and never had a problem until now. I just can't get this BlackBerry to work.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.  I've been at this for hours and I'm starting to think there's an iPhone in my future.
    Thanks!

  • My BlackBerry has started dieing on me...

To anyone out there who can help me...
Basically, my prized BB has started to fail on me. Yesterday the A and R buttons were pressing strangely (sometimes they wouldn't type, sometimes they'd provide 2 letters instead of one), and today, my R/3 button has completely stopped working. Also, for some reason I cannot hold Alt whilst typing anymore - meaning I have to "Alt" "m" "Alt" "m" "Alt" "m" just to get "..." ... As you can imagine, this is not the nicest of things to happen, especially as most numbers have a 3 in and lots of words have an R in... I've added all the data that I can think to add to speed up the process... I'd provide a photo, but how do you show a photo of buttons not working... Please help me - I've had my phone for almost a year now on a 2-year contract, and it's served me very well! If there's anything else you want me to find out and tell you, just ask <(^_^)>
    Thanks again!

... ok, this is crazy... I think my BB is psychic... within 2 minutes of me opening this page, it fixed itself =_="" I've just realised that I can emulate the problem caused if I hold down a different key and try to use "Alt"+"M" for ".", for example... So I think what's probably happened (but I have NO idea why or how to fix it) is that my "R" button got stuck down, meaning I couldn't write "R" because it was already being pressed, and the alt wasn't holding down properly because there was already a different key being held down... I have no idea if that's any help to you, but good luck <(^_^)>

  • 8330 rings for no reason

    Hello,
Every 4 hours my 8330 will vibrate/ring for no known reason.  The ringtone that is played is different than my usual ringtone.  This started on Sunday morning (2AM) and has continued every 4 hours since.  It vibrates then rings once.  I have no idea why it would be doing this.  Any suggestions on where to look?

Are there any apps running in the background? Press and hold the alt key and press the escape button. This will show any apps running.Close any 3rd party apps that you aren't using.
    Otherwise, try a Battery Pull:
