Quicksilver with both 9.5 OS and 10.4.1
It's the 10.4.1 OS that i want to use, and this hand me down does have the internet explorer for mas version 5 i think, and I went to download firefox, and i can not seem to find it to load to my dock bar.
When the computer boots up for the 10.4.1 the screen says it is loading 9.5 layout. OK where do I start to get this thing to go to the Internet and get the Firefox and Safari? IT will go to the internet on Broadband but acts like a stalled dial -up
Not finding the proper startup volume is a sign of a dead PRAM battery. They cost US$5 online and can be installed in minutes. They are 3 to 4X that cost if you go to Radio Shack but you have the advantage of getting the battery now. The Radio Shack/Tandy part number is 23-026
If OS9 and OSX are installed on the same partition, you cannot use the "Startup manager" keystroke combo to display choices of OS. However, try holding "X" at boot to force OSX to be selected for boot.
You do NOT want IE5. It's not been updated in years and cannot even render the Apple forums properly.

Every time I launch a Source - based game, it crashes on startup. This happens with both "Team fortress 2" and "Tactical intervention". This began to happen recently (they used to work fine), but as I recall I've just installed Crossover... can anyone help me?

BUG - saving with both flash pro CS6 and CC causes library symbol names to change
Concise problem statement:
If you save with flash pro CC and then save with CS6, in the library panel, symbol names are changed.
Specifically, pipes | and trailing spaces ("|Divider", "Divider ") get replaced by escape sequences ("|Divider", "Divider " ...) Ampersands & and number signs # also get replaced, such that symbol names grow exponentially if you continue to save with both flash pro CC and CS6 ("Divider ", "Divider&裘", "Divider&裞&�" ...) This makes it difficult to transition a team from CS6 to CC.
Sometimes, the original-name symbol remains, and an escaped-name symbol is also created. In this case, the children are removed from the original-name symbol, so it doesn't render anything to the screen; a mysterious, silent failure.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Create a library symbol named "|", save an xfl with flash pro CC, and close.
2. Open, save, and close with flash pro CS6.
3. Open, save, and close with flash pro CC.
Results:
A library symbol named "|".
Expected results:
A library symbol named "|".
I submitted this bug with the bug form, and also with adobe bugbase (in case it isn't obsolete) - I'm just trying to maximize my chances of getting a fix. Has anyone else encountered this bug?Hi,
We are aware of this issue and its open for investigation internally. This issue is observed when you have certain special characters in your symbol names and try to open that file in Flash CS6. This happens due to a change in the way symbol naming is handled in Flash CC and in Flash CS 6.
As a workaround, request you to use only Underscore or Hyphen as special characters while naming symbols or library layers etc.
We shall update you as soon as this has been fixed.

Many of my older ITunes downloads play perfectly well on my IMac but constantly skip to the next song or suddenly stop playing on my IPhone. The problem is the same with both my old 4s and my new 5s phones. I have tried deleting and re-downloading my music library to the phones, but the result is always the same.
I'm adding more information:
in Finder, my iMovie folders are all visible and accessible. When I click on a clip from iMovie Events folder, Quicktime opens and plays the clip. ALL my video is not missing - it just isn't showing up in the Event Library!
This happened all of a sudden, while I was working on iMovie project (on both computers).
All my Projects are intact, and play when I open them. -
I m having problems with both my iphone 3gs and 4 when my cellular data is on and my battery is fully charge but out of suddenn it will shut off can i know how can i troubleshoot this issue thanks
simply try doing a back up and restore
when going thru the activation screen, select SET UP AS NEW and then test your device. if it is not shutting down then it could be 1 or more apps tht have been downloaded wch could be affecting the device
you will then need to follow the process of eleimnation, meaning add 2 apps and then monitor your phone, if nothing happes then add another couple of them and then check

So this is my dilemma...
I have a 13" macbook pro, I have just installed a 128GB SSD and am using that as the main boot drive and the bootcamp. I have split that hard drive in half (64gb each), one half is for OS X and the other half for Windows 7, no data is being stored on the SSD.
I have also replaced the Super drive with the original 500GB Sata drive and am wanting to use that as my Data drive. I want to partition that drive as 400GB for OS X data and 100GB Windows 7 Data (windows is only going to be used for work which wont be using too much storage.
Lets call the SSD as the OS drive and the 500GB as the Data drive...
Now i have currently formatted the Data drive in Disk Utility as MSDOS (FAT) so that both OS X and Windows can read data from it. I am not really fussed with the Mac being able to read what is on the Windows partition or vice versa but i do want to be able to store files larger than 4GB.
In the Windows bootcamp i have formatted the data drive partition as NTFS and that seems to work but I now cannot store files in the Mac partiton that are larger than 4GB, how to i get both HFS and NTFS to work on one physical hard drive to remove the 4GB limitation?

AshFAT32, what Mac/OS X/Apple calls MSDOS FAT, can only store files smaller then 4GBs in size. That is the limit of FAT32. So all you need to do is format the partition you want to use for the Mac "Mac Extended (journaled)" (If you can on a MBR partition table drive, Not sure) or exFAT.
But be aware that Apple's implementation of exFAT is flawed and Windows may not be able to read a exFAT partition formatted by OS X.
Everytime I have tried to format a drive exFAT on a mac and nthen move it to a Windows computer, that is Win 7 that natively support exFAT, Windows could not read the drive.

Working with both a bluetooth keyboard and keypad
Is there a limitation on how many keyboard devices can be used at once?
I have a third party bluetooth keyboard and keypad set. Each of them was recognized and paired with the iPad okay.
However it only connects to one device or the other. Never both at the same time. Is this a limitation of the iPad software? (also of note: the keypad works okay with the exception of the enter key. It worked okay for the purpose of typing in the code to pair the device with the iPad, but not when in general use.)Im also having this same problem with the Microsoft BT Keyboard 6000. I can only use one at a time.
Also, I cant get the copy & paste ( Control C or V ) to work -
Printer on Network with both Win 7 32 and 64 bit PCs
I'm confused about how I'm supposed to set up my F4180.
I have it directly connected to a printer running Windows 7, 64 bit.
I have 2 other computers on the netwrok running Windows 7, 32 bit.
I have an F4180 directly connected to a PC with Windows 7, 64 bit. I've installed the Windows 7, 64 bit drivers on the directly connected PC and everyting works fine on that computer.
Am I supposed to use the install additional drivers thing and install the Windows 7, 32 bit driver on that PC too so that the Windows 7, 32 bit PCs can properly print?
Or do I install the Windows 7, 32 bit driver on the other PCs themselves?
Whether I install the 32 bit drivers on the 32 bit PCs or not, it doesn't seem to matter. Both of the printers do print fine, but when I click on customize your printer and then preferences, I get a windows protection fault error. So, from the remote PCs, I can't change the print quality and that kind of things.
What's the right way to be doing this all?

View Solution.OK, the solution was written for the case of sharing a printer from a 64 bit machine to a 32 bit machine, so the instructions may have been confusing for your case. Please do the following: on your 64 bit Windows 7 computer click Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, then click on Windows Update and then select HP for the manufacturer and HP Laserjet p2050 series PCL6, Next, Next, Next, Next, Finish.

Newest Video Cards for use with both Premiere Pro CS6 and CS4
Hi, I am currently using PPCS4 and just upgraded to PPCS6. On one system I'm running a GTX 285 and on the other Quadro 2000. Can you tell me which new graphics card in each catagory will be able to run both CS6 and CS4 as I have many programs still setup in CS4? I tried tech sipport with no answer from them. I looked over GTX 570 or 580 for one system and Quadro 4000 for the other but I still have reservations if there will be a problem or not with CS4. Can you help me. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, both systems are running Intel core i7's, one with 24gb ram and the other with 16gb ram. Thanks
CS4 does not really use any advanced features of any card... so a relatively inexpensive AMD/ATI card will do anything a more expensive card will do... for CS4
Starting with CS5 (a complete rewrite of the source code, to go from 32bit to 64bit, plus a LOT of other changes) an nVidia card helps with some actions

Having trouble setting up an Ad Hoc network with both iOS, Mac OS, and Windows.
So I'm skiing with some friends but we forgot to bring a router with us. The lodge internet is passable but we only have one ethernet connection. My friend connected his (windows) laptop to the ethernet and set up an Ad-Hoc network. The problem is that only Mac OS and iOS devices are able to connect to the network and use the internet. The windows machines and Droid devices can't connect or in some cases they can connect they can't use the internet.
My question is what special wizardry allows Mac OS and iOS to work fine on the ad hoc network but not the other platforms? Is there something I can do to get the other machines to connect to the network? Would things work better if I hosted the Ad Hoc network? How to print adress labels with both, name of company AND person?!
Hello,
how can I print adress labes for business use in the following form:
Company name
Employee name
Street
Zip City
It seems that Adressbook is only able to print either the employee name (if the entry is not marked as company) or the company name (if the entry is marked as company). But to send a letter to a specific employee you need both on the label.
I would be astonished if this case is not considered by Apple's software engineers!

Is there a function to have a graph with both the full signal and a zoomed in signal displayed?

AND
You associate one plot with each scale pair of of XY scales.
Then you will be able to change the range of one set of scales to achieve an effect similar to zooming in on one.
