  • Trouble when formating finished movie into quicktime!!!NEED HELP!!!

Okay this is urgent! I am done with my video project but when I click "Share" and choose "Quicktime" and then select "Full Quality" and it compresses pretty quickly my movie is only about 3 min. long. When I go to play the Quicktime video of my project about halfway through the video the video playing halts like a pause, but I still hear the audio playing. What is wrong???!!!???? I need help fast!!!

Does your iMovie play ok within iMovie? How long is your movie before you try to export it to QuickTime?
Try closing iMovie and deleting its preference file: YourUserName=>Library->Preferences->com.apple.imovieplist.
Trash this plist file. Reopen iMovie. Try to 'share' it as quicktime movie again. Depending on how long it is, this may take a while.
If this does not help, post back.

  • I cant open itunes or quicktime... i need help

i just downloaded itunes and quicktime and whenever i want to use itunes or quicktime it wont open, what should i do

Have you tried removal of all related programs with installer cleanup of any that don't uninstall? I wonder if a problem with Apple Software update is at the root of this, but it is probably best to go straight to the full removal.
Here is a method for removal, cleanup and install.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install Cleanup
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • VERY slow download, need help please!

Hello there, we recently moved house and have just had our internet and broadband activated, probobly 2-4 weeks ago, today i was downloading an update of my Xbox for a game, now bearing in mind i am directly connected through a wire to the homehub (BT HomeHub 3), it is a 2.07gb update, the first 75% went rather quickly(2-3 hours) i recently got home to find it was on 77%, this was an hour later, and 2 hours have passed now and it has only just reached 78%, which of my calculations are correct is less than 0.3KBS, which would put the completeion time around next week, i have tried unplugging the cable and restarting the HomeHub and nothing has worked(also whenever i do this the download skips back to 44% and spend 20 minutes befor jumping to 56% and then 40 mins befor going back to 78%. If anyone could help me i would be most gracious.

    welcome to the forum
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems) BT Speedtester and post the results .
are you connected directly to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

  • Itunes download 3.1.2 - frozen during download & need help

I'm trying to download 3.1.2 on my Itunes, but it seems to have frozen and "locked", telling me I still have 3 hours left to install. I don't have a ton of stuff on my computer that would cause it to be so slow, so I don't know how to fix the situation. Help. Anyone have any advice or know how to fix this? Thanx

There has been a long-standing issue with the way iTunes handles Podcasts when there are multiple episodes available.
When your iTunes Library checks for new episodes of subscribed Podcasts, it will download only the latest one. This is fine if there is only one episode since iTunes last checked. But if there are two or more, then iTunes still only downloads the latest one, and ignores the previous episodes. Apple's apparent attempt to resolve this issue is to show the other episodes, but with the download cloud icon next to them. All well-and-good, but it's not obvious that this is what is happening, particularly when the Unplayed Episode Count includes those non-downloaded episodes.
What compounds this issue is that the in-the-cloud episodes are listed in the Podcasts Library, which up until that change, only included media actually in your Library.

My question is: What else do I have to set so that the podcast episodes I have subscribed to are automatically downloaded?
Submit a product Enhancement Request as feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html, although I suggest you don't get your hopes up. I submitted one a long time ago, but all Apple has done is introduce the "cloud" episodes, which has not solved the problem.
    kstinmb wrote:
I have subscribed to almost 100 podcasts and I should not have to go to each one in Library | My Podcasts and manually select the newest episodes. Am I not following the directions? Is there another step I have missed?
Please tell me how to have my subscribed podcasts download automatically.
The only thing you can do is set your iTunes to check for new episodes frequently enough to catch all the new ones.
However, even this may not be enough. There is a BBC programme that releases up to three new episodes every day, all within one hour. So even once and hour will not catch all three of these.

  • QuickTime Wont Open. Need Help!!

I upgraded to the new itunes 6.0 and quicktime.
    and now both wont open.
Quicktime opens for 2 seconds and then closes.
And thats making my itunes not work since quicktime cant open.
lmk if anyone knows what to do.
    Thanks

You are having the same problem as dozens of others, I included. There are many other threads out there that provide some suggestions. Try them, it may work for you, but as for me so far none of them have worked. I'm hoping that "Raquel" will soon figure it out, Apple sure hasn't. Apple should never have released such a horrible and untested piece of software. Good luck, don't give up.

  • Problem with Quicktime...need help...

I used to visit "VirusRadio.com" frequently and listen to old Opie and Anthony shows online, and never had a problem. Here lately (after installing XP Pro, I've noticed) I've been totally unable to stream content off this website. When I had Home Edition, I just downloaded quicktime and this site loaded perfectly, yet this isn't so on XP Pro. Maybe some of my firewall/Internet settings aren't correct, or maybe it's a quicktime issue...but I need help. I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

These software conflicts could be due to some inconsistency the Leopard upgrade caused in the System folder. Doing a clean "Archive & Install" of Leopard will probably fix your problems.

  • I need help with my QuickTime!

Well, my quicktime on the internet doesnt work. All i can do is hear the audio, even for videos on the apple website. I see the quicktime logo while its loading, but then the audio player/bar thing (that normally is under the viewer while playing videos) appears in the middle and I see no video. Whats wrong?

    Hi -
Hard to say what it might be. Try deleting your Quicktime preferences (it's at User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.quicktimeplayer.plist) then launch the app again and see if things improve. If not, try downloading the app itself from the Apple site and then reinstalling it...
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Sometimes Quicktime needs help via 'plugins' to view certain content. You might try installing this plugin, although you should be able to see all the content on the Apple site without any special add-ons...

  • Need help w/ iTunes + Quicktime

I just recently downloaded the new version of iTunes (without any success) and now I can't access iTunes or Quicktime. I am also having trouble uninstalling Quicktime from my computer. Here's what I have done, so far.
    1)I have uninstalled iTunes
    2) I tried to uninstall Quicktime, but when I go to remove/add programs, I don't see a "remove icon". It only says the program is "rarely used". What to do?
    3) When I click on the start menu and go to program, Quicktime is on the list, but when I hold the cursor over the QT icon and click on the uninstall option I get this message: "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed". This leads me to believe that Quicktime is actually not on my computer. But how can I be sure? What to do?
    4) I have also had no success when I try to reinstall any version of iTunes + Quicktime or iTunes as a stand-alone program. I am simply stumped and need help.
    TIA...Rick

Try and use Microsoft's Cleanup Utility and then reinstall Quicktime/iTunes:

    Flip replies:
We have recently become aware of an audio compatibility issue revolving around Flip Video and the latest QuickTime 7.4.5 update running on the Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system. Apple is aware of the issue and is investigating it with Flip Video.
This issue does not affect customers running the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system.
Several customers have reported that they have had success using the QuickTime components available from Perian (http://perian.org). Please note that we cannot officially recommend this as we have not fully tested the application, nor do we have knowledge of what other applications may be affected.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance.
    Thank you,
PS: Perian does me no good. A friend with 10.5 says he has no problem, just as indicated above.
