QuickTime 7.2 - problems with QuickTime Asset Xtra?

Ever since this new version of QuickTime 7.2 was released,
some of our customers are having a problem with viewing QT videos
inside of the Director Projector. (I am not able to reproduce the
same error, but I have received about 10 emails in the the past 2
days). Here's the type of error they are getting when attempting to
view the video, and then the application crashes:

Has anyone come across this? Any ideas on what could be
wrong?

Now got it to work with latest version of VLC, it reports that the video codec is MJPG and the audio is ARAW. Another problems is that if I view in finder with preview on or (even get info), finder crashes or at least closes window I had open.

I'm sorry you ran into trouble here. There are a few things we can check right away to start debugging this:
- First, would you try signing out of the Creative Cloud app and see if this solves the issue? This can be found under: Gear > Preferences > General > Account.
- Could you try quitting/restarting the Creative Cloud app. Did this solve the issue?
- Could you try Turning File and Font Sync off under: Gear > Preferences > Fonts. Wait a second, then turn it back on. See if the font/s show up and if not, try syncing again. Did this solve it?
- Could you tell me if you're on the Windows/Mac OS X and the version?
If none of those worked, would you attach the CoreSync files and send those to our support email: [email protected]?
On the Mac, the folder can be found here:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
(You'll want to open the Finder, click Go, in the menu, hold down the "option" key and you'll see the Library folder.)
On Windows:

Problem with 'Import Asset' after SuperDrive replacement

Hello. My SuperDrive was dead earlier this year and I replaced it last month. Ever since, I have been having trouble doing 'Import Asset' on DVD Studio Pro. Whenever I try to import a QuickTime(.mov) file, a message of "Incompatible Format" will pop up thus stop me from importing anything.
Could someone help me with this please? Any ways to fix it? Thank you.

Thank you for answering my question. Would you suggest me to reinstall DVDSP? I installed everything as a chunk with my Final Cut Studio discs. Can I reinstall it individually?
My DVDSP worked fine until my Superdrive crashed earlier this January. It has been like that ever since, even after the drive was fixed. I can burn DVD directly without DVDSP. I am sure DVDSP can burn DVD too, but I don't know what happened and now the "import asset" function won't work anymore. I don't know what to do.

Problem with uploading assets

I am following this tutorial: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/augmented_reality.html#ach-setscr for augmented reality. The Sample files have been downloaded and when I open the .fla and run it in flash CS5 it works beautifully with the marker.
However, I am trying to get it to work online or in a powerpoint presentation. When I do so, the user is prompted to enable the camera, but the 3D image doesn't appear.
As far as I can see, I have to upload a .swf to a html page. The .swf is from a .fla and a .as (the actionscript is all in the .as which targets the .fla).
When the .swf is run, it calls on a .dae file which is referenced in the .as file.
Locally, when the .swf is run, it prompts the user to allow the webcam to be enabled. The user holds a marker image to the webcam and an augmented reality 3d model is shown. This works in flash cs5, but when I try to upload it to html or insert it in a powerpoint page I get the following error:

After googling, it seems that I have to somehow preload the flash assets but can't find how this is done.
Basically what I am trying to do is to get an Augmented reality application up and running on a website and I'm trying to do this with the version available here: htt p://ww w.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/augmented_reality.html.

A small problem with my Zen Xtra 60 turned into a bigger problem. Help me save it

What started as a small problem has grown to a big mess. My Zen xtra 60 GB unit started going to "Rebuilding Library" often. With 5000 Wma's on it, this rebuild was taking 30 minutes. So what I attempted to fix with reloading firmware to recognize the new Windows Media Player version, has left me with a dead unit.
I have followed many of the solutions, that have been able to fix other peoples units, but to no avail. While my computer sees the unit, none of the firmware loads will see the player. I fixed what was said in the register. Went through the 4 options of the "Rescue Mode" on the player, followed several of the knowledge notes on procedures, including hooking unit up to a new Dell Laptop. Exactly the same problem happens on a different computer.
I guess my first step is to get the computer to see the MP3 player when I run a firmware install.
Tell me what to do to save my little player.

I've had a similar experience, but to a degree. I've found that if I don't use my <EM>40GB</EM> Zen Xtra for more than one day the player will "re-build" the library... but in my case once the library has been re-built it plays just fine; none of my songs or memory are lost.
Why does the player have to "re-build" the library if the player is not used for a period of time?

Problem with OSControl xtra

I have this rather unusual problem with the OSControl Xtra. I
recently paid for it $160 (a price which is extremely high for me
as I am student). Unfortunately i had to format my computer and I
completely forgot to write down my director's serial number (the
control was locked with the particular serial number). Also, the
original email containing the serial number was lost in my first
virus attack several months ago. Now, in order to activate director
again I had to buy a new serial... and this is where the problem
begins... the company refuses to activate the control again using
my new serial and they are asking me to either pay another $160
dollars or to upgrade to their site license (thats almost $500) or
to spend more money to buy an older copy of Director. This is the
worst customer support that I have seen, and I must say that I will
suggest everyone I know to avoid them at all cost... and you know
what they say...
loose one customer and many more will follow... Any thoughts
or advice will be greatly appreciated.
PS1: Because of this I had to stop my developments and start
looking for an alternative solution.... a solution tat will cost me
more money and more time...

I have some problem with Fixed assets accounting and I need some help.
I have two fixed assets and I need to change their value and create a new one with the addition of these values I get from these two fixed assets. T
I think Tx. ABUMN is the right one, but I get this error:

I have checked this account and it seems to be OK.
Questions:
Is TX ABUMN correct for this purpose?

Hi,
First set your COD with OAPL.
Then go to OAY1, select Ttype 300 and click on Spl handling of transfer posting, there for all of your dep area select check box for Tranbsfer APC only.
This will only transfer the APC value to the new assets.
ABUMN is the only solution to your issue.

Problem with zen x

I was having problems with my zen xtra...the sound is messed up...all i can hear is the beats of songs...and a few lyrics here and there...it kinda sounds like the equilizer's messed up... I tried reformatting it... I think maybe its the headphones jack. I bought if refurbished from Ebay, directly from creative... I don't think I'm under warrenty...or if I have a reciept...maybe my dad does.. is there anything I can do? I don't mind paying...please help me... I LOVE my zen xtra.

What happens when you choose the other options, in particular Clean Up?
If you've tried the options in Rescue Mode and the player still won't boot up correctly, it's possible there is a hardware problem. Contact Customer Support for further assistance.

Constructions in Progress - Problem with CIAP evaluation area 50.

I'm having a problem with the assets in progress. The GST credit in the area 50 should only be done on the liquidation of fixed assets in progress for the final asset.
As the 4000 class, has no GST when transferring (here is transferred through the liquidation order, or modify the standard order of appropriation and appropriating the assets underway for the definitive asset).
Logically, the area 50 is not fed.
How can I leave the class of fixed assets in progress and no tax when you transfer to the ultimate ownership of the GST.

Also, I am not clear what you refer to with 'CIAP'? From the asset class 4000 I take that you are referring to 'asset under construction' (AuC) issue.
Can you maybe provide more details to describe the problem, if possible?

Problems with connecting. (Zen Xt

I've been having quite a problem with my Zen Xtra. When I connect it to my USB port, It gives me those beeping errors made by either Creative Or windows. I have a 4 year old computer, so it has USB . ports. I bought a PCI to USB 2.0 card, The zen worked fine for awhile, and all of a sudden, it stopped! I tried almost everything. I updated the firmware...And I couldn't because it requires USB connectivity. I installed the other software, I replaced the USB hub also. It went shot on me, but I connected it and it didn't work, but when I plug in my mouse, printer, and keyboard...And they all work fine. I've even formatted my Zen and it still dosen't work. I've tried connecting it in the USB . port and still dosent work. I've even tried searching for BIOS updates for my mobo, but to no avail...nothing. Althought I did try on another computer, and it did work just fine. Although the computer's USB ports are on the mobo instead of a PCI card.
I'm at the end of my rope here! I have no idea what's going on.

Sounds like the drivers have got messed for your PCI USB.
Try the following, remove the PCI board and place it in a slot away from the AGP (graphics slot). This should force a reinstall of the driver. Sometimes you can get conflict with memory allocations for the PCI slot.
Remove any hubs that you may have and plug directly into the card, some things draw a lot of current for example optical mouse and unless you have a powered hub this maybe causing problems.

I can not upgrade to quicktime 7.7.3 for windows vista. Error message says there is a problem with the program installer. Any clue as to how to get around this.

Problem with connecting and syncing (quicktime.qts)

I have a problem with connecting and syncing my Iphone to itunes.
iphone alone on PC -> uploading files (fotos) is possible
itunes starts normaly, if iphone is not conected.
if i connect iphone after starting itunes, or if i start itunes after connecting iphone i get an itunes-error with message:

i test different things...
- used another USB-port
- used another PC
- used macbook of my wife instead PC

In this context, that can sometimes indicate trouble with a content file on the phone (or Touch).
Do you have any podcasts stored on the iPhone at the moment? If so, if you delete them from the phone, can you connect to iTunes without the error?

Problem with sound in games requiring quicktime

I recently purchased CSI 1. I installed the game and the latest version of quicktime player. As soon as the game starts and the first character starts talking the game pauses as if loading and then plays for a second and pauses again for a few seconds. This intermittent sound problem makes it impossible to play the game as the freezing stops everything from functioning. I tried another game that requires quicktime to be installed and that game is pausing the same. Has anyone else had this problem? I have all the latest drivers installed for Vista. Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you get any problems with sound in other (older) games? You didn't mention which drivers in particular you updated, but make sure the graphics card's ones are included.

Two new problems with the Quicktime Plug-in

I recently discovered two new problems with the current Quicktime Plug-in for Mac OS X.
First, the Quicktime Plug-in is unable to stream Quicktime media in any internet browsers other than Safari.
There is just nothing on the spot where the embedded Quicktime player should be.
Second, the Quicktime Plug-in only shows the message "The operation couldn't be completed. This file is not a movie file (-2048)"
everytime it should work together with the Flip4Mac Plug-in. The thing is, when facing a webpage where a wmv or wma file is
embedded, there only shows that error message on the spot where the player should exist. I first thought that it would be a
problem with Flip4Mac. So I uploaded about this problem on telestream.net, only to hear that the error message above belongs
to the Quicktime Plug-in.
Both of these problems did not happen at all only three weeks ago. The embedded Quicktime player showed up without any problem
in my Firefox and Opera, and wmv or wma files were streamed successfully through the Flip4Mac and Quicktime Plug-ins.
Then, suddenly, after some point, these two problems began to occur, and there is no information on how to solve them on the web.
I obviously tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime. I even completely erased the hard disk of my Macbook, and reinstalled the
whole Mac OS X. But the problems still remained. I borrowed another Macbook from my friend to check whether these problems
occur in other computers, and they did occur in my friend's Macbook as well. So they are definitely not the matter of my own Macbook only.
I think these might be the problems with the new Quicktime Plug-in 7.7.1.
Please check about these problems and solve them on the next version of the Quicktime Plug-in.
