Quicktime 7 for Mac OS 10.3.9 ???

I just downloaded Skype for the first time but when I attempted to launch the application, a drop-down window appeared stating that in order to open Skype Mac OS 10.3.9 and Quicktime 7 are required; then Skype quit by itself (didn't crash). I have an iMac G4 1.25GHz running 10.3.9 and QT Player 6.5.1. According to the system requirements of the current QT version I need to have 10.4 or later; however, I know that the first versions of QT 7 were compatible with Panther. So, where could I find and download one of those earlier versions of QT?

Niel, thank you very much. I didn't even think of checking the "Downloads" page.
Now, is it possible to keep QT 6 too? If so, how should I do that? The reason I'm asking is because I will lose my Pro key.

I cannot get my registration to work for QuickTime Pro for Mac OS X 10.6.8 using QT 7.6.6  I have copied and pasted exactly as require (I don't have an organization).  Any suggestions?  Thank you!

There is no QuickTime System Preferences pane in 10.6.8 or later.
You enter the registration under the player 7 menu.

  • QUICKTIME 7 FOR MACS EARLIER THAN 10.3.9?

Does anyone know if Quicktime 7 will ever become available for MACS that aren't as up-to-date as 10.3.9?
    Or is this an impossibility?!
I have this system but others are on earlier systems and therefore can't view my videos!

You can contact the customer service people at the phone number listed at the bottom of the Apple web site pages. Howeveer, be advised that sicne it is impossible for Apple to verify whether or not the pro key sent has been used, it is unlikely that Apple will refund your money if the purchase process was properly completed—i.e., the key was properly generated and made a part of your account record. Your best options will likely be to either to sell or gift the key and user name to a widows user and purchase a Mac key if you need full QT 7 Pro functionality (masking, blending, layering, etc.) or download the free MPEG Streamclip app if all you need is trimming, merging, and conversion options.

  • QuickTime 7 for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later difficulties

Hi, I have a mac 10.3.9 and I had a older version of quicktime (don't remember wich one) and I downloaded that quicktime for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later. Unfortunately I can't hear the sound when I download long movies thrughtt websites such as http://www.cityofanime.com. It works for short movie trailers and such but not for long movies so is there anything I need to upgrade to make quicktime work the sound properly because it really is anoying to just look in the picture but not hear anything for 30 minutes.

What kind of software I need to download for the 10.3.9 quicktime for the sound to work? Please I want to know if you know.

  • Hi, Know any other ways to quit QuickTime player for Mac OS x Lion, Other than using the command control Q Because it is just frozen and it won't quit the program.

Alright I started experiencing this problem about a week ago and It will just keep "Finishing..." up the screen recording but it wont let me shut down the mac, Nor will it let me Force quit this program to quit it because it is just annoying there, not being able to close down. If anyone has a solution, please do let me know. Again, I am using a Mac OS X Lion, 2011 Version.

You may also want to reset the plist of quicktime. Go to your users Library then look for Preferences folder. Look for com.apple.QuicktimePlayer.plist. Drag the plist on the desktop and try using quicktime again. I hope the problem is not the graphic card.

  • What is the most recent upgrade for Quicktime player for Mac OX 10.7.5

I have iOS 10.7.5 on my iMac.  Recently my quicktime player won't play a slideshow created in Quicktime.
Can I upgrade my quicktime player application? If so, how?
    Thank you.  Mrs. D

It is installed along with OS X. The current version is 10.3 and is part of Yosemite.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

  • Quicktime question for mac mini...

I recently lost the ability to play certain movies in Quicktime. These movies worked previously, but have miraculously stopped playing the sound and the video plays improperly. I keep getting the "improper codec for this movie" type error message. I reinstalled QT and it didn't help. If I have a virus how do I check to see if that's the problem?

It might help us if you told us some specifics about your situation. It looks like you have Mac OS X 10.4.3. Which version of QuickTime do you have installed? (You can check in the QuickTime System Preferences by clicking on the "About QuickTime..." button.) Exactly what kinds of files are you having trouble playing? Where did you download them or find them?

  • Quicktime version  for Mac OS 10.2.1

I can't find a version of Quicktime that will work with Mac OS 10.2.1. Everything available on the Quicktime downloads page seems to only be compatible with older or new operating systems.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Somehow my os 10.2.8 installed QT 6.5.2, which requires an os of 10.3.9 or greater, through my Software Updater. I didn't even realize this until recently I noticed my Qt would not work. When I go to download the most recent QT for my os (6.5.1) it won't let me got to the install because it says I already have a newer version installed. Problem is it doesn't work. I tried to use the QT 6.5.2 Installer again to try to uninstall it, but it won't let me get to the uninstall point because I don't have os 10.3.9+.
My Software Update log shows that QT 6.5.2 has been installed. I need to get QT totally uninstalled and then start over.
    Any suggestions?
    tks
    Scott

  • Quicktime VR for Mac and Windows

I am getting ready to do a major update to a QTVR object movie via Macromedia Director for an important client. The client only uses Windows XP and Windows 7 on their machines.
I will do all development on Mac Lion 10.7.2 etc (see below)
Is this a good idea to stick with QTVR for now? For a year? Longer?
To switch now to an alternative to QTVR is way beyond the client's budget, so I would have to shoulder the costs at a loss...
    Thanks for your advice.

Ah, yes. I see that Adobe are now calling it Adobe Director. For years after the purchase it was still called Macromedia Director, though.
Based on the nightmare that I see for Director under Lion (fonts, etc) in other forums, there is no way we will continue to invest in QTVR and Director at this point.
I am looking at Pano2VR and Object2VR by Garden Gnome software now. They seem pretty good, and also have some support for iPhone and iPad.

  • Quicktime 4 for Mac OS9

I am looking for a way to view AVI files with IV32 codec on my IMAC G4 (or convert them for view). They play only the audio track in Quicktime 7. They play fine on an old Biege G3 that I have that has Quicktime 5 on it. I had purchased a Pro key for Quicktime 4 but then installed QT 5 and did not upgrade the Pro status. If could find a download for Quicktime 4 that should do it for me. Any Ideas
    D

You'll find a QT installer on your OS 9 Software CD.
I think you may have to "hide" your version 5 application (renaming it by adding the number 5 to its name) before you'll be able to run the installer.
Once you get 4 Pro you should export to DV (to preserve quality) and then move the resulting .dv file to the other machine.
The .dv file could be edited in iMovie (or not) and then exported to QT format (.mov or others) for viewing. Be sure to use "expert" (or custom) settings so you get the format that works best for you.

  • Registration Key Invalid - Quicktime for MAC

I purchased Quicktime Pro for Windows sometime ago and I'm now trying to unlock the Pro features on a MacBook Pro within OS X and I'm getting an "invalid registration" message when using the Pro Key for Windows. Do I need a separate unique key for Quicktime Pro for MAC?

That way it's always been, different keys for different platforms.
I can't think of any software developer that provide you keys for both platforms. For example; photoshop.
