Quicktime 7 - I get the logo and a ? next to it! please help

I had Quicktime 7 and recently I updated it (a window popped up saying there was a new update and if I wanted to download it) and afterwards, all of these online stream videos that used to work now have the Quicktime Q logo with a question mark on it.
For example, the picture shows up on the videos in Youtube and so many more times in practically all of the sites I go to that shows some kind of video. I tried "repairing" Quicktime by downloading it again, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still ends up that way. What should I do?
I have a Dell Dimension 4550, Windows XP, no viruses no problems at all, my Direct X is updated and everything, and so are all my other programs... and Quicktime worked before that update. I updated it about 2-4 days ago.. I'm not sure. Help is very much appreciated ^^

Some sites use Adobe Flash format, and if QuickTime is set to enable Flash, it will try to play those videos which, unless they're in an older Flash format, it can't. Make sure you have the latest Flash player installed, then open the QuickTime control panel, go to the Advanced tab, and make sure that the checkbox that says "Enable Flash" is unchecked.
