Quicktime 7 wont play h.264 video??? how can i change that?
Hey there
I just tried to open a avi file in imovie and noticed that i could not import it. so i opened it with quicktime, but all it does is pop up a screen telling me, that a certain codec is missing.
I would get that codec if i only knew which one.
The weird thing is, that the avi file i try to open is in H.264. it's a HD video-file.
Also, opening it with VLC is no problem, but as i wanted to edit/cut the video-file, i need to be able to open it with iMovie...
I'm running OS X Leopard, 10.5.8, all updates installed, iLife 09, Quicktime Version 7.6.4 Pro...
The info on the video-file i can get is the following:
Format: "h264", 1920x1080, Millions
FPS: 105.20
Data Rate: 28.57 mbits/s
Any help on this one???...Im a little desperate tbh!

ok, i uninstalled them... still no video, just audio.
yes...i can watch them with vlc, but my intention was to open them in iMovie, so I can edit/cut it... iMovie wont recognize the file as importable, thats when I realized thet Quicktime wont play it either!
So I figured, that once i get Quicktime to recognize it, iMovie should rec it too.
So my current situation. audio: ok, video: nothing
btw. its an .avi file. It came off of my toshiba cam
any ideas?

You can log in to Adobe.com with your credentials and you can change your region or country from the option "Change Region" at the bottom left of the page .
From there you can change your region and select the preferred one and make the payments.

When I edit a song in itunes (i.e change the year) on purchased songs, the next time I return to itunes, the information has reverted back to the original information. How can I change that?
When I purchase ITunes music, and it is a song from a Greatest Hits album, the Year of the song shows the year the CD was released and not the year the song was released (i.e. a song may be from 1986, but the Greatest Hits album was released in 1999, so my songs in ITunes show 1999). So, I go into each of those songs and change it to the year that I want to be displayed. As long as I don't exit out of ITunes, it will show the year that I changed it to (i.e. the 1986 year in this case). But if I exit out of ITunes and then return to ITunes, the year reverts back to 1999. The same happens if I change the genre of a song from, say 'Pop' to 'Alternative', it will revert back the next time I log in.
Oddly enough, as soon as I right-click on that song to change it back, the year/genre that I had entered returns.
How can I make it so my changes are permanently displayed as I want them? This is pretty annoying when I try to find a song on my Ipod under a certain genre, but it doesn't appear in that genre because the incorrect information gets synched to the Ipod.Make sure that these two options in Edit > Preferences > Store are turned off:

Your metadata entries should then be persistent - with these options checked iTunes will be comparing what you have with the information held in the iTunes Store, and will overwrite with the latter for Store purchases (and if you have iTunes Match). I adobe acrobat 7.0 professional. When I open or save a PDF it reverts to Adobe Reader XI. How can I change that to the pro as it has far more editing options.
You may want to keep Reader. You may want to select Acrobat as your default, but be able to click on a PDF (or PDF link) to open in Reader when needed. There are likely some PDFs that will not open correctly in AA 7 because of new features folks add. Just because it opens in Reader XI does not mean it is in the new format, but just that is the default opening you have. To tell the type of file, you have to open the PDF and check the properties (ctrl-D) and check Description>PDF version.

I tried powering down and re-starting the iPhone (as suggested at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). This seems to have cleared the "...not connected to the Internet" problem, and iOS 6.1 is now in the process of downloading.

I would like to use the windows explorer open dialog box instead of the adobe open dialog box. How can I change that?
The top screenshot is the Windows Open dialog box. All File > Open... commands in all Windows programs bring it up. Try File > Open in Notepad for example.
It belongs to Windows not Adobe. You cannot change this because there is no such thing as an Adobe Open dialog box.
The bottom screenshot is Windows Explorer. It is Windows' OS File Browser, not an Open dialog. It is not called up by Photoshop or any Windows program.
You have to click on "My Computer" or a Folder icon to get to it. You can double-click a psd, jpeg or other image file in the Explorer window so that it opens in Photoshop.

Thank you for posting on the Adobe Forums, kindly try the step mentioned below.
1) Right click on any of the PDF file and choose the option open with
2) Select choose default program
3) Select Adobe Reader/Acrobat from the list
5) Check the box "always open this type of file with selected program" (not the exact same wording)
6) Click OK
If you are on Mac, CTRL+Click on the file.
Go to Get info
Go to Open with
Change it to Adobe Reader/Acrobat and click change all.

TS2755 1st text to an iphone is always green. How can I change that?
When I send a text to another Iphone user, it's green then when they text me back, it's blue after that. Why?
How can I change that? The Iphone I send to has the newest software and all. Doesn't make sense.When you send the message to another iPhone, it sends it as a text message because it doesn't know what type of phone it is. When it recieves a message from that phone, the info in the message tells the phone that it is talking to another iPhone. Also, sometimes when there is no internet, the iPhone may send messages as a text. This is because the blue messages are send over the internet as an iMessage. Now if you are texting to another iPhone and its green, try going to SETTINGS > Messages > iMessage > make sure it is turned on. Just my two cents

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
I am using Mail version 7.2, with OS 10.9.2. Only 1 month of messages are kept in the Inbox folder. How can I change that?
ramon 261No luck, unfortunetly. I've even restarted the whole computer. They are usually still there, and sometimes, even older messages that I deleted from the drafts folder a long time ago, reappear as well. I've also deleted the account from Mail and set it up from scratch several times hoping that would work, but it failed as well.

The OS X Lion default on new iCal entries is 'all day'. How can I change that default? It seems odd that the default would be 'all day' when most entries are for meetings lasting less than that.
Unfortunetely the only way is to uncheck the box each time you set up an entry. I trust enough feedback from users will convince Apple to change that in the future.

Unfortunately it would not be possible to change the extesion of the pages from .html to .htm.
We do not have that option available in Muse. Muse only generates .html extension.

Updated to IOS 7.1 & gets "white screen of death"
