Quicktime can't be saved error

When using software update I always get the error that quicktime can't be saved, saying you do not have the correct access privileges, how can I stop this?

I have gotten the following failure repeatedly on every attempt (about 5x) of QT 7.5 update. I have successfully used Software Update to get to OS X 10.5.4 but the QT 7.5 update has not succeeded.
The Software Update status window says' Downloading 1 item Expanding and verifying QuickTime...'
The error message is 'The update "QuickTime" can't be Saved. Software Update could not expand the package correctly.'
Based on the QT discussion board i am wondering if it is even a good idea to get this 7.5. However the iTunes 7.7 says that it requires QT 7.5. I am at iTunes 7.7 now. The reason is I read that I need to be on 10.5.4 OSX and iTunes 7.7 before downloading iPhone OS 2.0.

I was using Software Update, which is supposed to know the correct version. Once, I did try to get the Leopard version off the downloads web page and the disk failed to mount. After your reply I tried again from the downloads page and this time it worked.
So problem solved, but I have no clue why...I had just rebooted... but I had rebooted before without it helping. It seems random chance combined with enough reboots did the trick.

HELP: The update "Mac OS X Update Combined" can't be saved error -1001

I have a Mac Mini at a vacation town home, so it needs quite a few updates whenever I use it. Everything installed fine except a combined 10.5.6 and 10.5.7 update. Everytime I attempt to download/install it, it will download a few mbs, then stop and give me the error:
*The update “Mac OS X Update Combined” can’t be saved.*
A networking error has occurred: timed out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again.
My internet never seems to have conked out, as the 'ready' light on my modem is always lit, so where is the problem here?

PP 2010 and PS2010 - Project can not been saved - Error ID : 9000(0x2328)

Multiple users are receiving Error ID : 9000(0x2328) when trying to save to the Project Server. We have tried Save for Share and that has been unsuccessful. Is anyone aware of any other methods to resolve this issue?

We have found that users might get the 9000 error if they have corrupt SharePoint deliverables and/or corrupt links to SharePoint deliverables (SharePoint Dependencies).
In the case of corrupt deliverables, make sure that all exclamation marks are gone from the Deliverable pane by accepting all Server changes. If you still have exclamation marks, delete those deliverables --- they are corrupt. Next, count the
number of Deliverables in the Deliverable pane and note the number. Then open your deliverables in a Browser. How many deliverables are there? If it is more than what are in the Deliverable pane, then you have "ghost" Deliverables.
These items need to be removed, as well. Open the Deliverables in a datasheet and whack the items that are not in the Deliverable list. If the list is long and you are unsure how to find the extra items, then my trick is to add "111111" to the
start of each valid Deliverable name (we have a macro that does bulk Deliverable creation/updates/deletions for us). Then, if you look at your Deliverables in the datasheet and sort by name, you can sort the wheat from the chaff. Delete
any item that does not have 111111 in front of the name. Then remove the 111111 from the task name and restore the original name of your valid Deliverables.
In the case of corrupt SharePoint dependencies, you want to do a similar thing in the Dependency pane. Accept all Server changes and delete any Dependency that still has an exclamation mark --- these are the corrupt items. The really nasty ones
will have an exclamation mark, but no name in the Dependency pane. These cannot be deleted through usual means. We have found that the only way to delete these items is to delete all of the SharePoint Dependencies from the Dependency pane.
This has a kind of flushing effect that deletes all of the corruption. We then re-establish the Dependency links after the Dependency pane has been cleared. Again, we have macro that facilitates bulk re-links, which makes it easier for us.

Photoshop CC 2014 - The file can not be saved in path because an error has occurred

I need again help regarding this issue. Sometimes but very often I receive an error, trying to save a PSD file, the error is: "The file can not be saved in <path> because an error has occurred". After that it is not possible to save the file in any format, using save or save in dialog. The only way to rescue the result is, to save for web as an jpeg. This error occours often using Topaz or NIK filter and until now only in PS-CC 2014. My workflow looks like this:
- Open NEF RAW file in Brdige
- Settings in ACR and give it into PS by clicking OK in ACR
- In PS doing a adjust some levels
- press SHIFT+STRG+ALT+E for a new summary layer
- Uing Topaz Adjust on the new level with 65% opacity
- press SHIFT+STRG+ALT+E for a new summary layer
- Using Topaz DeNoise on the new layer
- pres STRG+i and resize the image to 1200x797
- Using Topaz InFocus on the same layer as DeNoise
- create a vignette with brightness adjustlayer
After this workflow in nearly 90% it is not possible to save the file as PSD or something else, only to save for web as JPG. If I save the file after opening the RAW in PS and after every layer with Topaz Filter, I can save the file when I am done. Same issue occurs using NIK Filters in that way.
I tried to optimize the performance by using this guide: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-performance-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html doesn’t solve the issue.
I re- and installed all Adobe Products more than three times, doesn't solve the issu.
After that I ordered a new SSD drive and insall Windows 7 64bit inkl. All latest hotfixes, patches and drivers. I downloaded the newest Adobe Versions and the newest filter sets from Topaz and NIK. Doesn’t solve the issue.
This is my rig:
Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H mainboard
Intel Core i7 4770k
32GB Corsair RAM
250GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD Drive
nVidia Geforce GTX770
During my tests I took the same RAW File and created nearly 20 adjustment layers and summary layers, without using Topaz or NIK filters. No problem, I was able to save the file as PSD file.
From my point of view, actually, the error occurs only when I am using Topaz or NIK filters. Both supports doesn’t know the issue and if I search the web, I can’t find more then me. It seemed to depend on my settings, my rig or something else, perhaps a cache is overflowed or something like this. Adobe telephone support can’t help because I said I use a third party filter. But it occurs with two different manufactures…
So please guys, help me to figure out why this error occurs in my system.

Update: I tried several times to reproduce the error, actually it dosen't occur. I changed nothing on my system, without reboot it twice. This is what I said in my beginning times: it occurs sometimes but often. I will keep you up to date.

Error message -48 - library can't be saved

I'm having this same problem. In my case the library file is on my main internal hard drive, but is partitioned to the e: logical drive. Permission should not be a problem.

Ipod classic with error message (-48) can it be saved without wiping it??

my ipod is coming up with an error message (-48) and saying it cannot be synched. I would like to put new material on it but cannot. Is there any way of rescueing it without restoring it to factory settings (as I do not want to lose things on it that I don't have on my computer)

Preview error message doc "can not be saved because it does not exist"

I have had a long standing problem with Preview. I know it is odd but around closing time every day, two of my computers both running 10.6.8 get error message when trying to save a new document. The document will be open on my screen and when I go to save it I get the error message that the file can not be saved because it does not exist. Some background that may be relevent:
The documents that I create all day long (for at least 6 years) are output from a 4D database. I generate a report from the db and it opens in Preview as a PDF file. All day long I have no issues with creating and saving these docs. Then around 4-4:30 when many people are getting ready to leave two of our computers (one iMac 3.06GHz Intel Core i3 and an older macMini) have this problem. All you have to do to fix it is quit Preview and regen the doc. Unfortunately we often lose a lot of work because of it. I've tried anticipating when it will happen and restart Preview before creating the new doc but that only works occasionally.
I suspect that it has something to do with people logging out (I am usually the last to leave) and perhaps some shared application is effected. Everyone does have their own copy of Preview and we all use separate 4D clients. I have searched the internet many times. I have found some similar problems that people have had with this error but not related to my own. Unfortunately both Preview and "the file can not be saved because it does not exist" are very general terms that bring up all kinds of unrelated things.
I was going to try to delete the Preview Prefs file and start again but I can not find a plist for preview or any other file that is clearly the prefs. Searched the internet for that too but did not find it.
Does anyone have any ideas on this odd problem?

Upgraded to version 7.3 - Library file can not be saved - Unknown Error-50

I upgraded to version 7.3 and now I get a pop up error message that says the I Tunes library file can not be saved. The program reports an unknown error occurred (-50). The Pop up error message comes up every minute or so or any time I click on any item in ITunes.
I tried to contact Itunes and they sent me a link to this forum. Can someone please tell what to do to fix this problem or how to reach a real person at Itunes tech support?

A few minutes into the update I get the message below.
The update “Mac OS X Update” can’t be saved.
The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple”.
I click on OK to close the message box and the download stops and the download box closes.
Any suggestion why this is happening.

Yes I am getting this error and so I got 10.5.7 from Support Downloads but then there was a Safari Beta 4 update and it did the same thing. I'm a little worried after that because I have already had Software Update probs and had to get a brand new MacBook so keep the answers coming

I have the same problem. I'm using Mavericks OS and latest iMovie. Both downloaded last week. I save the movie into File (as directed) and QuickTime

Hmmm, not sure how “&#160” got into the title of my Question.
I realize the title is very general but didn’t know specifically what the trouble was.
More information may lead to some replies.
Today I turned off Time Machine (TM) automatic backups. So far no problems all day & when I checked the Console logs I saw no “LaunchServices: bad alias ...” entries. Many instances of these yesterday at the time of the problems.
Do I need to:
Rebuild the Launch Services database?
Reset Launch Services?
Trash the Launch Services plist file under preferences?
Have 2:
com.apple.LaunchServices.plist (4KB)
com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEvents (303KB)
I cleared the Cache & History in both Safari & Firefox just in case.
I checked Console Crash Reports & see both a Dock & a Finder crash report from one of the times I had the problems. That can’t be good.
I installed AppleJack & may use it to clear all my Caches depending on what replies I get here.
Hopefully, this is now enough information for some suggestions on how to proceed.
I’m going to restart & then w/o opening any other programs, re-enable TM automatic backup & see if the trouble reoccurs.

Can't Trash saved apple mail-error message "file exists"

Recently I can't trash saved mail from any of my mailboxes under Saved On My Mac.
Am running OS 10.6.7 with Mail 4.5 and also have me.com account.I have an early 2010 24" Intel iMac.
I get the following error message "The message MESSAGE NAME could not be moved to the mailbox "Trash-On My Mac" The operation couldn't be completed. File Exists."
Need suggestions for troubleshooting this problem

10.5.3 error: 'The update "Mac OS X Update" can't be saved.'

Hello,
When I run Software Update (on my iMac - no problems on the MacBook Pro) and try and download the 10.5.3 update I get the following messages in the error window"
*The update “Mac OS X Update” can’t be saved.*
*You do not have appropriate access privileges.*
*The Installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder.*
I've run "Repair Permissions" and "Verify Disk" several times and there seem to be no problems.
I'd be very grateful if anyone has any ideas what is going wrong!
