Quicktime clips out of sync in Premiere CC 2014

Just downloaded the latest update to quicktime 7 pro and all my imported quicktime files are playing in slow-mo in premiere CC 2014? I restarted after the install on my pc running windows 7. Anyone else having this problem, makesquic it real hard to edit. All clips out of sync.

I've had the same issue on one of the computers where I am.  A slightly older Mac Pro that's worked fine with no issues until this.  Latest Premiere CC installed, footage is Prores with two separate mono tracks, 720, 59.94.  That edit suite is using an AJA board for external monitoring.
The weird thing is that when troubleshooting, I brought the project over to my new Mac Pro and the project plays fine.
I went through the premiere preference settings looking for anything that looks like it'd be able to help, as well as the AJA app.  The problem definitely is introduced when footage is imported into Premiere as it plays fine in quicktime before import, though exports from Premiere pro are out of sync.

  • Quicktime audio & video out of sync in premiere cs5

i filmed a video using the built-in isight camera in my new macbook pro and the QuickTime video recorder.  the videos look and sound fine, but when i put them into adobe premiere cs5 for editing, they audio and video get out of sync.  how do i keep this from happening?
    thanks!

In most cases I convert to PNG format (Portable Network Graphics) rather than JPG. File sizes are larger than JPG but rarely prohibitively so (and if they are I will then use JPG) .
Importantly, for this generally insignificant increase in size, you get a perfect lossless graphic with PNG.
For example this whole screen capture (1920 x 1200) shot is:
      694K  PNG (lossless)
    2,341K  JPG (lossless)
      493K  JPG (standard lossy)
Note that the forum scales images for display. To actually see it at full resolution you would right-click the image and 'Save As Image ...' to then view it in your favourite image viewer (I use VuePrint, XN-View and FutureixImager to view images).

  • HDV clips out of sync in viewer window and timeline. (Final Cut 5)

Hey there, just new to HDV and already hitting problems. On all my clips the video and audio are out of sync in final cut (watching them back on quicktime they're fine) when I view them and then once they've been rendered on the time line.
I've changed the settings on the project and sequences to match the clips, but its helped none.
Anyone have any ideas? Any you have would be much appreciated, thanks.

  • Synced audio in a file is out of sync in premiere/prelude

I have a file from a documentary film I'm working on that happened to be shot on the iPod Touch. When playing back the original files, the audio is perfectly synced. In Premiere and Prelude, the audio is fast (or the video is slow, I can't tell.) so it gradually goes out of sync, and unfortunately most of the files are minutes long, one, an hour long. I naturally assumed it was the transcoding, but even when importing the straight file, with nothing done to it, not even a rename, and it's still out of sync. It makes no sense, and this is my university thesis, so some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a lower-tech solution for this? There's gotta be. I should be able to tell Action! to record using BKM and then for Premiere to edit and render it properly. Why all the hoops?
I don't use Action as it's superfluous in my opinion.  I don't know how to tell it to do software-based encoding into a fixed frame rate.  It might not even be possible.  If it were, then you'd know it: your in-game FPS will drop quite a bit because your CPU load increases.  But again, I don't use Action, so I'm not sure.  That'll have to be an exercise left to the reader.
The other solution is to install Handbrake and figure out how to convert the MP4 that way.
Those are your choices.  Pr and Elements can't properly handle VFR files.  In almost every case, the audio and video will be out of sync.

  • Exported Flash JPEG sequence out of sync in Premiere Pro

    What I have:
CS6 version of Flash Pro and Premiere Pro.
Uncompressed audio in .wav format at 44100hz
    What I am doing:
Importing the .wav file to stage in flash pro.
Creating animations based on the audio at 24fps
Exporting the animation as JPEG sequence.
Importing the JPEG sequence to Premiere Pro.
Importing the .wav file to library in Premiere Pro.
Exporting the the animation with audio as .mp4
    Result:
    Audio out of sync.
NOTE: This problem can also be seen when importing the JPEG sequence and audio in Premiere Pro.

Here's what I've discovered while working with JPEG sequences and audio files:
Since you are dealing with individual still frames within the JPEG sequence, it will always import at a full 30fps, rather than 29.97 or 23.976 (depending on the project). The audio file, most likely, will show up as either 29.97 or 23.976. Let's say, for this example, we are working in a 29.97 project. If you pair the JPEG sequence with your audio, you will have a .03 frame difference, per second (30fps vs. 29.97fps).
You will need to conform the JPEG sequence to match the frame rate of your audio. In After Effects, while the JPEG sequence is still in the Project Panel, right click and then select "Interpret Footage." Select "Main." In this dialog box, change the frame rate from 30 to 29.97 (or 23.976). Choose either Drop Frame or Non-Drop, depending on your project.
After clicking "OK," you can take that JPEG sequence and drop it into a composition with your audio. You should be good to go.

  • Export to quicktime audio out of sync Apple Pro Res 422

    hello forum!
In a tizz as have an film due tomorrow but when I export to quicktime from final cut 7, the audio is out of sync...
I've scoured the forums and lots of other people seem to have this problem when using H264, however I converted to Apple Pro Res 422 (LT) before pulling files into final cut, plus all of the sequence and final cut settings (as far as I can tell) are already set to Apple Pro Res 422 (LT). I don't understand what I am doing wrong!
nb. the files seem to play okay in VLC

Thanks for your reply David! Indeed my audio is 16 bit 48 kHz and there is no MP3 audio (have a wav music file included).
I just spoke to a techy  friend who said the fact it is playing smoothly in VLC indicates the problem is with quicktime and not with the film itself, so I am currently compressing to something smaller and will see how I fare from there!

  • Quicktime audio out of sync, no in VLC

I have a problem for some avi files. When I play then with quicktime, the audio is out of sync with the video. The same files work fine with VLC. I use Perian for the codecs....

Hey guys... I wanted to update you on something that worked for me as far as my problem with a few of my avi files being out of sync. I ended up trying a program I already had, which is free by the way. It's called ffmpegx for Mac. I took one of my out of sync avi files and loaded it into ffmpegx and then used the AVI DivX setting to re-encode it. To my surprise it actually worked and played fine in QuickTime in perfect sync. I tried it on another one of my out of sync avi files and it fixed that one too. I then converted the file again in Handbrake with the AppleTV setting to be able to watch it on my tv.
Give ffmpegx a try... it couldn't hurt

  • MP4 clips out of sync when dropping onto my timeline and I can't fix it.

I'm trying to drop some mp4 clips onto my timeline in CS6 Premier Pro. The problem is the audio keeps going out of sync. It plays fine elsewhere but for some reason doesn't sync up properly in the timeline and I can't fix it. It looks like the video is slower than the audio/ the audio is quicker. When the clip is on the timeline it has a green line above it where as everything that is in sync has a yellow line. All clips have been imported from my internal drive. I'm using a Macbook Pro 2.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5. Does anyone know how to fix this?

What is the source of your clips, and do they possibly use a Variable Frame Rate instead of a Constant Frame Rate?

  • Exported clips out of sync if I use Compressor

I have about 100 clips that I need to export from FCP to transcode to .wmv's. If I export to Compressor and use a custom .wmv preset there, the audio is out of sync. Not just a couple of frame as if it were 29.97 to 23.98 or 44.1 to 48 khz, but immediately about one second out.
I have checked my clip settings to make sure audio and video are the same for Compressor.
If I export using "Quick time Conversion" from FCP, then they are in sync. I would rather set a batch in Compressor than individually exporting 100 clips.
    Clips are DVCPROHD/60, 48khz, 23.98 (I don't know why they were recorded 60p at 23.98)
    Export settings: 1280 x 720, 23.98, 48hz, .wmv
    Thoughts?
    And, thank you.

I have seen more posts recommending that you not send files to Compressor from FC. Most recommend exporting a reference or a self-contained QT and then compressing the export.
If you are still having issues with the wmvs you may want to consider purchasing flip4mac(full version).
I prefer Episode to F4Mac or Compressor when creating wmvs but Flip4mac is the best option for the price.
I do not believe you can batch export/compress with flip4mac but the results are usually worth it.

  • Quicktime file out of sync when trying to convert it to

I was sent a .mov file created on a Mac via yousendit.com, and downloaded to my office PC via yousendit.com. I need to convert it into a format I can burn onto a DVD using Vegas Pro and DVD Architect.
It plays fine as a .mov file from my desktop but when I play it from DVD Architect, the sound and picture are out of sync.
I put it into Vegas Pro to see if I could sync the sound but there is no picture when played from Vegas Pro.
Is this because there is a problem with the .mov file, and/or the fact it was downloaded from yousendit.com, or is it a problem with DVD Architect and/or Vegas Pro?
    All help much appreciated.
    Thanx.

    Hey,
Please mention the configuration of your system specially CPU and RAM.
This error usually occurs, if you run too many memory-extensive applications simultaneously. So try performing those redaction tasks after closing some of the background processes/applications
    Hope that helps.

  • Pro Res 422 clips not working on Windows Premiere CC 2014

Originally I was getting the 'media pending' non-stop but now nothing shows at all and Premiere freezes.
I have uninstalled every codec on my system and every media player and then reinstalled just Quicktime. It just locks up the system.
    Windows 8.1
Quicktime 7.7.6 (which I believe includes with Prores decoder)
    Adobe CC2014
    i7-5820k
    32Gb DDR4 RAM
    Geforce 980GTX 4Gb
Quicktime player plays the files perfectly on Windows.
Premiere CC 2014 on Mac plays the projects perfectly.
But Premiere CC 2014 on Windows grinds to a halt each and every time.
I've trawled through every thread on similar subjects and tried everything I have read or seen so far but nothing helps. I've tried CineC and the other prores alternatives to see if they can 'jump start' Premiere seeing the files but nothing.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated as I'm supposed to be doing this edit over this weekend.

  • Audio out of sync in premiere pro cs6 after capturing

Hi, some of my footages are out of audio sync after capturing.
I have an imac with 3.4 Ghz intel i7 processor, 16gig ram, ssd card  ( august 2012)
    I have a sony hvr-z1 with tape.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Good morning Lynn,
I doubt this will help, but whenever I have issues importing tapes, I try
something else. I double check the software's manual because
sometimes, even if I have done the same thing several times, I add
or miss something. If that does not work I close the program and restart
the computer and camcorder and try again ... with a different tape. If
that doesn't work I use a different program. I use an old HP workstation
I paid $99 for on Ebay that's running XP and I capture with Scenalyzer.
Then I copy file to a USB drive and input to Premiere. Sorry, I figure the
problem is me, not the hardware or software and it usually is me because
when the next project comes along PP usally imports fine.

  • P2 clips out of sync when imported

Using log/transfer on FCP 7.0.3 to import P2 panasonic 23.98 clips. Has always worked fine BUT this time clips cannot play audio. They play fine in the log/transfer preview, but not as clips in the project.
    Any ideas?

Did you overcrank the footage, shooting 24pn over 60?
If so, no sound is recorded

  • CS3 is making my m2t files audio go out of sync upon import

I am using a Matrox Axio LE running Premiere Pro CS3.
I'm using a Focus enhancements DR-HD100 to record in 720p 59.94 in m2t file format. After importing the clips into CS3 the video and audio is sometimes out of sync by 7-12 frames. It seems to happen with varied lengths of projects and there is no way to tell exactly when the video will go out of sync with the video.
After speaking with Techs at Focus I have run a couple tests and I don't think that anything is wrong with my DR-HD100s. I can play the same m2t clips that are out of sync in Premiere Pro CS3 in Power DVD and they play back fine. No issues with sync. It appears that Premiere Pro is doing something with the clips upon import that is messing with the sync.
    Any Ideas?

Here are a couple of thoughts:
1.) can you disconnect the Matrox and test the files in a non-Matrox Project? Any better?
2.) as PrPro can have issues with MPEG files, can you Export as a DV-AVI (or similar) from your DR-HD100? Any better?
3.) can you demux your files into elemental streams and Import these separately?
4.) is your OOS issue constant, over the course of a Clip, or does it drift? Constant can be easily fixed in PrPro, by turning Snap OFF, then Alt-clicking the Audio only, and nudging it along the Timeline. Once done, the Audio and Video will be re-linked. Rember to turn Snap back ON. If it drifts, you may need to Razor the Clips and work on the resulting parts separately, as stated before.
5.) have you tried Render/Replace for the Audio? This will get you a WAV file. Is that any better?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Video recorded directly into iMovie 11 is out of sync

I opened iMovie 11 on my brand new Lion MacBook Pro and recorded a video directly into the built in camera. As the video was recording I could see it starting to delay the video and image. As the video went on it continued to get further and further out of sync. Replaying the clips in iMovie showed that the out of sync issue was still present. But if I play the recorded clips through QuickTime the clips are in sync.
I continued to edit the piece hoping that it was just a preview issue. But after optimizing clips and exporting to Quicktime the out of sync issue is still there.
In summary - the raw clips are in sync in QuickTime. Anything viewed or output from iMovie 11 is out of sync.
I've been reading through the forums and tried some suggestions such as detaching the audio. This does not work. I "Optimized the Clip" (which was a direction in official Apple Support) and this did nothing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Exactly the same here. It starts fine for about a minute and a half, but then it slips and gets progressively worse.
It's making me really mad too, because I can no longer just turn on iSight and record. I have all the latest updates, in fact I just did the main system update today as well.
