Quicktime Controls Not Responding!

So here is my first little attempt at createing a page, nothing much just messing around a bit. however the quicktime files play fine in iweb application, but are unresponsive in browser??? any thoughts?

Mate Its a huge qt movie so that may be part of the problem but it feels like there may be something over the top of it like a shape preventing any clicking. Did you have one there? Can you see anything over it? Click on it and do a bring to the front on it and see if that works. Otherwise the movie is controled by a .js file that you can look at and see what the controls for it are. I have a video tutorial on that on my site (free) at www.australianmac.com

Podcast play back controls not responding on my iPad. The problem started today. I powered off the iPad and problem not solved. What to do?

I was unable to fix it on my own. My son suggested that I take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. Fortunately I was going to be in the city, and was able to make an appt. with the store closest to me. A very helpful young 'genius' took my iPad in the back room and fixed it. I don't know what he did, but he said something about 'firmware'. I don't even know what firmware is, but he said it was unlikely that the problem would recur. There was a sense that it had to do with the new IOS6. If you are able to visit an Apple Store that is what I recommend. Make an appointment first online at Apple.com. The service is free and I was VERY grateful to have my iPad restored!

Quicktime 7 not responding when updated from QT6

To any out there who've heard about this problem, please tell me what I'm doing wrong. QT7 looks amazing and I wanted in but I don't seem to have the right setup?!
After I restart from the download and attempt to play anything from Apple's QT site, QT opens but no window comes up and the dock shows it's active (the little black triangle). I click and hold the QT icon to Force Quit and I notice that at the top of the menu it states "Not responding". I can successfully quit but upon successive restarts and re-attempts to play anything in QT7 it does the same thing. I've tried updating to QT7 three times now with each new update hoping this problem is resolved but to no avail.
This also seems to affect my iTunes, doing the same thing to that app as well. No other apps seem to be affected and the QT plugin for Safari works. I don't have QT Pro and I'm running a MIDI rig with a MOTU MTP/AV through the Geethree Serial adapter plus a firewire MOTU 896 and ProTools Audiomedia 3 card. Anybody else going through this and found a fix?

Here is a protools/itunes/quicktime solution I found. It worked for me!
"Basically the problem has been that the new Quicktime freezes, and takes ITunes with it, when you also have Pro Tools loaded on OSX 10.3.9. Some have remedied this by disconnecting their Digidesign hardware, but it's a temp fix only.
Re-Installing ITunes will not solve this. You must go to your Digidesign Folder and run your Digidesign Core Audio Setup then remove ITunes from the list. At this point quicktime/ITunes should work fine.
Also Apple has issued a Quicktime 6.5.2 Re-Installer for anyone who's havimg trouble with the Quicktime 7. Here is the link

Quicktime Controls Not Working in Browser

The Quicktime controls, play button, scrub bar, etc., do not work when I play a video in a browser. The controls display and react to clicks, but do not affect the playback of the video. I'm running 10.4.11 with QT plugin version 7.4 in Firefox 2.0.0.11.
It seems like this mostly occurs with Oreilly's Safari training videos. Other videos like Apple QT trailers play okay.
Firefox does play the video correctly sometimes which seems like its the first time during a day that I play it near as I can figure. Restarting Firefox doesn't help.
In Safari 3.0.4, the controls work with errors such as the play button rewinding the video.

Maybe this will give somebody else some clues. I'm trying to display .TIFF files within IE7 or Firefox using the appropritate plugin for each. I'm on Vista32. Have installed latest ITunes and QT. Seems to be a problem with file associations with QT. Vista associations show FF as default player for .TIFF (same thing if I switch to IE7). QT MIME settings agree that FF or IE7 are default app for .TIFF. In both FF and IE7, "opening" a .TIFF file with either IE7 or FF causes QT to get control of the browser window and does not display the .TIFF file (as it used to for both FF and IE7). The .TIFF file is opening correctly with other apps, only having a problem with browser plugins. Not sure how to fix this, so will probably give up on .TIFF files in browsers for a while and see if somthing in QT gets fixed. I'm using QT Player v7.6.4 (518.35)and FF v3.5.2 and IE7 with all maint. Evidence says QT is getting control even though it should not be and is getting in the way of valid plugins.
I can however, start IE7 and manually point to a .MOV file and QT uses the QT plugin and plays the .MOV file ok. The same thing happens with FF. Open FF and manually point to a .MOV file and QT plays it ok. The problem for me is QT getting in the way of .TIFF file displays. The QT troubleshooting page shows QT installed and running ok.

QuickTime Constantly "Not Responding"

Im trying to download videos off the internet they are at the most 5 minutes in length. One of two problems happen...1) The video will download and then just before the end it will stop and the video will freeze and I check force quit and it says its not responding...or 2) it wont even start to download and again i get a not responding message..I had just recently upgraded to QuickTime Pro and im now regretting it because before that everything worked fine. So my question is...can i uninstall and reinstall quicktime and how do i do that or is there something else wrong with my computer??

What troubleshooting methods have you tried to rectify the matter? Have you tried repairing permissions & restarting? Need this info in order to avoid duplicating suggestion & the "been there, done that" senerios.

Quicktime application not responding after screen recording.

After taping video gameplay of a heavily modded Fallout: New Vegas, pressing the stop button makes the application stop responding altogether. Causing me to force quit as it saves only a couple seconds. It worked for awhile for about four recordings and after upgrading the graphics in the game, it just doesn't want to help anymore. This is frustrating and needs a fix as soon as possible. this is maddeningly frustrating. There are no fixes, no manuals on a fix, no upgrades. This needs to be remedied now.

Wheel/controls not responding ...

I had a rather unfortunate accident last week - my iPod sat in water (in a cover, but not a waterproof cover) for about 2.5 hours after it fell out of my gym bag. I read advice on various Web sites and let it completely dry out before trying to turn it on. Today, I tried to turn it on and I was amazed and overjoyed to find out it turned on and all of my info was still in tact. But when I was done celebrating, I realized the wheel was not working. I can't scroll or select any menus. I let it charge completely and tried again. Nothing. I hooked it up to my computer. It was recognized by iTunes, but I still had no control over the controls. I tried to reset the iPod. Again, nothing. I placed the iPod on my dock and played songs on there and was able to fast forward and rewind using the dock's remote.
But I'm unable to essentially "use" my iPod like I always have. Any suggestions? Do I have a prayer of the "wheely thingy" ever working again?

you may need a new ribbon cable. this was a similar problem i had with a 2nd gen nano. the buttons worked but the sensor for scrolling didnt. i had to take apart and replace the ribbon underneath the click wheel. its fixed now.

i've checked the system preferences and updated latest version of itunes and no sound is working from itunes or inserted dvd.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

FCE - (some) controls not responding

I have FCE 4.0.1. Every now and then something strange occurs.
Typically happens when I'm playing something in the canvas or monitor, and I attempt to stop the playback. It will not stop and I can't select certain options.
I can, for example, select Quit (application), and a resulting box pops up asking if I want to save, cancel etc. As usual the Save button is highlighted. However, I cannot select any button, including Save, with the mouse. I can, however, click return n the keyboard and this auto selects save. If I don't want to save I have to Force Quit.
No other application seems affected during this process. My keyboard and mouse are wired (not bluetooth).
I suspect some sort of problem with memory, but I just wonder if I'm doing something wrong, or if this is a common problem.
I should say that I had the same problem on my previous MacBook Pro, but was expecting it to go away with my new one.

Sometimes options are greyed out because you haven't got the appropriate window selected (active) at the time.
To check whether this is the case click on the window involved.
If that doesn't work you could try deleting the user preferences:-

Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests

Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 sp1 cu5 with one primary in the datacenter and a number of local DP's which are presently servicing 200 users, but will rise to 12,000. The Application Catalogue is installed on the primary server.
Once a day we get the above error and the message id is 8101, and sometimes a user will have to click on install twice, with the first one failing (the ones that fail are normally with dependencies which are quite large in size around 250MB)
I'm just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, especially since we will be ramping up user numbers in the next few weeks, and if it could be down to volume of traffic, although the apps are downloaded to the users local DP.
Also, does this design look suitable to service this amount of users, or should I have local application catalogues? The WAN bandwith between the datacenter and the user sites has recently been upgraded and is pretty fast.

Message ID is in the SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER status log and equates to "Application Web Service Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests. The http error is 12002.
Then, about 1 hr later in the same monitoring log I get Message ID 8102 "Application Web Service Control Manger detected AWEBSVC is responding to HTTP requests.
At the moment it isn't doing this very often, just once a day at different times normally, but it has also logged this a couple of times as well. I guess it may correspond to multiple users accessing the web portal at multiple times, but wondered if
anyone else has seen this behaviour and how it was fixed.

IIS Website: Default Web Site
Port Number: 80
with default value for Web Application Name configured.
For SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER component, I am getting below error in Component Status:
Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests. The http status code and text is 400, Bad Request.
Possible cause: Internet Information Services (IIS) isn't configured to listen on the ports over which AWEBSVC is configured to communicate.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is configured to use the same ports which AWEBSVC is configured to use.
Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly.

How do you remove/add a program in the Control Panel that does not respond to the command?

Without being installed (by me) this "Dictionary.com" toolbar that appeared and is taking up a whole line of space across the top of my desktop monitor! I followed the procedure on how to remove the toolbar precisely... Start> Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs>
then clicked on the program > Remove which is "Dictionary.com" and the computer would not respond to the command. I cannot get it to respond to any program that I clicked on. When I clicked the "Remove" button , the area or line darkens to a light tan. and I cannot even close the menu.
This very strange and frustrating and I don,t know what to do.
I just want it removed or go away.

Try to remove some of Firefox plugins or addons, maybe there is Babylon toolbar.

Java 7u25 control panel not responding

Hi all, I have just updated the latest version of Java : 7u25 on several computers running Win7
When I try to open the control panel, I have an errror : JAVA(TM) SE Platform not responding.
Or, I dont have any error.
In the Windows process monitor, I can see Javaw.exe launches and ends a few seconds later.
So, impossible to manage the java control panel.
Even If I launch C:\Program files(x86)\java\lib\javacpl.exe I got the same issue.
This issue occurs on all my machines.
Any idea of how to solve that issue ?
