QuickTime error 2330

just recently, I have tried to install iTunes. It gets about 85% complete, then throws a QuickTime error. The code is 2330 and after reading for a while the solution seems to be removing QuckTime from your system. Every time I try to do this, I get the same 2330 error saying the installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.
  Windows XP Pro
  Windows XP

I can't believe Apple have not been able solve this problem yet. I've been dealing with it for a couple weeks and no actual solution is still available.
So here is just a clue for some tech wiz (I'm not one)to start up from.
if you Review the iTUNES Setup log file (may be named MSIf93a5.LOG or similar) that the installer leaves on your TEMP file of your local settings directory;
This log file includes a message similar to this:
"The installer found an unspected error while installing this package. This can indicate a problem with this package. The code error is 2330. the arguments are: 23, c:\program files\iPod\bin\iPodService.Resources\no.lproj,"
What isinteresting here is that if you try to go to that directory (c:program files\iPod\bin\iPodService.Resources)and try to find out what's in it, you'll get a windows error messsage saying that that the C: disk is not formated, and asks you if you would like to format it.
No need to say That I click on NO, since I dont want my whole disk to be Formated.
Unless there is a way to unformat a sector to write binary code directly onto the physical disk so that no windows format may be necesary to run a program from it, this whole error seem to be exclusively related to the package code it self.
The question is: If this is so, then why others seem not to have this difficulties with the iTunes upgrade package? I'm reluctant to believe that just a few have have tryed the upgrade. so other resons may be related to memory, disk space, conflictig software or even lack of windows updated libraries or components. In either case, the package should be able to catch the insconsistency and install whatever it needs to work properly, not just leaving the users without the posibility to use his iPod.
Temporary solution may be to go back to previous version.
Anyway, if anyone finds out how to overcome this , just let me know.

  • Can't uninstall Quicktime (Error 2330)

I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can help me uninstall Quicktime, so that I can install iTunes. I've googled the error, but not yet found a solution that works. Every time I try to uninstall it, I get error 2330. I've tried add/remove programs, CCleaner, etc.
Please, please help me if you can!

I had same problem today. I still haven't been able to uninstall quicktime but was able to get around it by renaming quicktime. After renaming quicktime I downloaded the new version of itunes (8) without a problem and my new ipod nano now works fine.

  • Quicktime Error 2330 during Itunes and Quicktime Installation

Whenever I try to install Itunes or Quicktime the Erro 2330

I tried to uninstall Quicktime with the same error along with another number Error 1603.
I downloaded the Windows Clean Up and deleted Quicktime but when I manually go into Program Files and click Delete, it does not delete and says something about QuicktimeMPEG4Authoring.Resources thing.
    PLEASE PLEASE Help!

Whenever I try to install Itunes or Quicktime the Erro 2330

2330s, especially ones that cite language resource files and folders (you seem to having a problem with Norwegian resources), can often be caused by disk damage near the files in question.
so perhaps try running a chkdsk over the drive that your 2330 is citing. see:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? if so, does the itunes/QuickTime install go through properly afterwards?

  • Error 2330, Windows Vista - Can't uninstall or Reinstall ITunes

Itunes was working fine for quite awhile, but now when I access the store to download another song the store shows up but almost immediately blanks out to a white screen with only header info on it, no details.
When Itunes starts up, I get a message saying that there is a problem with the installation and CD downloads will not work.
I have tried reinstalling Itunes and Quicktime from the apple website. Also, uninstalling both from the Windows control settings. QT gets uninstalled and reinstalled fine. I get error 2330 with no other information when trying to reinstall or uninstall Itunes.
Have tried clearing out the TEMP folder and also doing selective startup as directed on the apple help tips. Still no luck.
Does anyone have suggestions how to resolve the 2330 error and why I am getting it?
    THANK YOU !!

I had this same issue with the iTunes store loading then going to a blank white screen straight after. I then checked for updates, installed everything it told me to (Safari, Quicktime, iTunes). However after everything installed it cut my internet connection. I was able to browse the internet for about a minute before I completely lost my internet connection.
I called my router manufacturer, they could not resolve my issue as the other PC's could access the internet so I knew it was iTunes/Safari/Quicktime. I did a system restore (I am using Windows Vista), that did not work. I searched on the other PC for help and found somewhere to uninstall network adaptors under the device manager. That just took away all my applications that pointed towards the internet so I did another system restore to bring them back, but this however fixed my issue. I did have to re-access my router from my computer by prompting it to reconnect to my ISP and then I got my internet back.
But, I can't access my iTunes or listen to my music.

What error to you get from the installer itself rather than the event viewer?
In general, 2330 errors can be due to filing system problems so, a good start would be to run a disk check.
Then try again if it finds errors.
If it still doesn't work try the general install troubleshooting in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
It would help if you say what you have tried and what the results were if you have been working on this for some time.

  • Error 2330  after trying to load 8.1 with other message prior to that.

Help, I have tried all the messages I have read! I unistalled Itunes, uninstalled Quicktime, tried to load earlier version 8.0 to no avail (even 7.0)!
My system will go in a circle and will constantly try to load 8.1 even after I say cancel. If I didn't love my Ipod I would post nasty messages about Apple software!
The good news is if I connect my Ipod it appears to open Itunes (I can only assume the Itunes is from my Ipod) It will sync then close Itunes, I cannot stop any activity.
How can I start over with an evenealier Version? I did try but I get this error message just before Error 2330 that States "unable to create ......\mobile device\bin or something like that. When I look at files I see or should say , saw that directory now It would appear nothing works.
Do I have to wait for 8.5 until this is fixed? I run windows XP, and tried both versions 64bit and the xp. I miss my Itunes and my 16gig of music.

    Ok IT IS NOW FIXED.
Here is what worked for me.
I think since I kept having a message "....\bin" I deceided to rename the primary folder C:\programs\common\apple\mobile device support. (xxxMobile device supportxxx).
I removed all programs ( Itunes updater, Quicktime, safari) using windows add / remove programs. I then emptied recycle bin. I shut off my Dell ,then turned back on.
I then installed the 32 bit XP version, and it is now working.

  • Weird  error preventing QT uninstall (Error 2330.23)

My problem involves the unsuccessful installation of iTunes 7 caused by problems removing QuickTime 7.1.3, but it's different from everyone else's registry problems. I've tried the iTunes 7 install, the QuickTime stand alone install, and the manual uninstallation of QuickTime via the Add/Remove Programs option under Control Panel. Each time I receive an error, (Error 2330.23), involving the following directory
    Internal Error 2330.23 C:\ProgramFiles\Quicktime\QTSystem\QuickTimeStreaming.Resources\da.lproj
This occurs when trying to uninstall this file:
    C:\...\QuickTimeStreaming.Resources\da.lproj\QuickTimeStreamingLocalized.dll.
I've tried accessing that file folder via My Computer, and when I do, it prompts me to format the C:\ drive (?!?!?!?!). I tried to delete the file by right-clicking the file folder and selecting 'Delete' in order to send it to the Recycle Bin, but it won't delete it, citing a data error, a "cyclic redundancy check." I have no idea what that means.
This problem is preventing me from uninstalling QT, which by the way seems to work fine. I've already uninstalled iTunes, and I haven't tried reinstalling an older version to see if it works.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
    HP desktop   Windows XP

Yes - as it says in the first post: Macs don't have any issues [running my program] - except a recent user who has been getting the above error.
I have not been able to identify the reason that this individual cannot run the program, and so stand to learn something from helping them resolve the issue, unfortunately I've exhausted my own knowledge and immediate resources, which is why I'm asking for help here.
Thank you for your continued attention the thread.

  • I am trying to install, but the install wizard insists on installing on a nonexistant D:/ drive, and when i try to change it, it gives me error 2330.  any ideas?

I am trying to run iTunes on a PC with Windows 8.1, but the setup wizard tells me there is no space on the D:/ drive, which makes sense, since my D:/ drive is a CD-ROM.  When it gives me the option to save on a different drive, I click it, and it tells me "Error 2330" and shuts down.  Error 2330 simply implies that the drive is incompatible, which makes sense but isn't helpful.  I even tried disconnecting the CD-ROM but that didn't change anything.
It is very odd that I have had iTunes on this computer for over seven months, and this problem didn't begin until after I attempted to install the latest update.  It failed to install the update, and from then on I couldn't open iTunes at all.  Has anyone else seen this issue or know what I can do?

I am trying to run iTunes on a PC with Windows 8.1, but the setup wizard tells me there is no space on the D:/ drive, which makes sense, since my D:/ drive is a CD-ROM.

  • Internal Error 2330. 1392

I just purchased a new laptop with Windows Vista with Adobe Reader 8.1.0 installed. When trying to open up an Adobe file, I received the error Internal Error 2330. 1392, C:\Program files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Browser. I tried to uninstall Adobe and got the same error. Through Windows explorer I could not open the "Reader" folder. It said it was corrupted and i could not delete the ADOBE directly manually.
I was able to uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.0 by first going in and changing the name of ADOBE directory under program files, but i still cannot delete the ADOBE directory directly.
Is there a way to manually delete the ADOBE directory.

Trying to install adobe reader 9.1 on an hp laptop (pavilion dv6936us entertainment notebook pc...to be exact).  It has windows vista home premium 64-bit os.  when i try to install i get error message that says "Error 2330 Error getting file attributes:  c:\Program file (x86)\Adobe\Reader9.0\Reader. Did you look "manually" for remnants of an old Reader installation ? (you could eventually try searching the drive for files and folders named Adobe )
Some suggests , as the previous thread contributor , that this is an issue with respect to remnants of an old installation :

Other suggests it could be a corrupted file issue :
    and suggests :
At a command prompt (run as administrator), do:
    C:\>chkdsk c: /f /v
and then reboot the machine. A chkdsk of the system drive can only run while
    the system is booting.

  • Quicktime error -2048 when trying to play.mov files.

I have been frustrated this weekend trying to find a solution to a problem that has only recently occurred accessing some digitised VCR tapes that had been archived on an external HDD. These are files that played back fine on my Quicksilver after I had recorded them, but now give a "Movie Not Available" message in Quicktime. However when opened in VLC I get a debug message box with the following information posted below. Any clues as to what might be the problem?
I recorded the files from my VCR using an ADVC-100 DA converter over firewire into BTV Pro which created .mov files (DV-PAL). When I try to open the files in BTV Pro, I get a message box "There was an error opening the movie. No Movie found. Error code 20,-2048" Did a search for this error and -2048 appears to be a Quicktime error, so am wondering if there is a problem with my installation of Quicktime. I have got all the usual suspects in stalled, Flip4Mac, Perian, VLC. Mpeg Streamclip but can't get the file to open. The external HDD is Mac formatted but I found some info about problems with missing resource forks in older .mov files causing problems if copied to NTFS HDD's.
Any ideas as to where to look next will be appreciated.

Well it used to work fine so I think so. When I try and run the installer you linked to I get a message saying that a later version is already installed- isn't it built into the latest QT releases? One thing I thought of- the original files I think were made on a mac so there were some resource fork files of 4K size. I deleted these as I kept trying to open them by mistake, but then after this trouble I dragged them back out the trash to the original location but it didn't fix the problem- could that have caused some sort of association problem?

  • In attempt to burn blu-ray, I get QuickTime error 0.  Takes hours to export a 7 minute movie from timeline, then get notice it fails.  What's going on here?

New problem just started 24 hours ago.  When I try to export from the time line to create a QuickTime file, a 7 minute movie on time line takes 3 hours to export and then the export fails, where as a few days ago, that export would take about 10 minutes at most.  I get the same failure notice when I try to share to blu-ray, DVD, or Vimeo.  Tried to use compressor, no such luck as compressor failed to make a .mov file.  I get QuickTime error 0 message about 5 minutes into trying to share to Blu-Ray now.   Does anyone know what is going on here?  I'm running latest update of Snow Leopard on an intel Mac Pro and the latest update to Final Cut Pro X.  I've also installed QT 7.6.6 to use in creating time lapse movie files.

Same problem here, too. Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3 on OS 10.6.8. However, it is only doing it on ONE of my projects. A 4-second test project burned successfully.
I'm  actually going to use iDVD to burn copies for a few people, so I only need the movie file from FCPX.
Would someone please post best export settings for use on a DVD? In FCPX, the project is  in HD (1080p) with all media optimized to ProRes 442. I know it will have to be down-sampled to DVD resolution, but I've always been curious to know what settings will result produce the best possible quality in DVD resolution.
    Thank you!
    Bart

  • ITunes will not install or uninstall - error 2330

    I need some help!
itunes will not recognise my iphone so I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, repair itunes but with no success. I have also tried to delete the files but it will not let me. Each time I try any of these things it comes up error 2330.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
    Thanks.

The 2330 is consistent with disk/file damage, rio. So first let's try running a chkdsk over the drive your program files are installed on (usually the C drive). There's instructions and a guided help in the following Microsoft document:
[How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265]
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you reinstall iTunes now?
If not, let us know the full name and file path of the file or folder that your 2330 is complaining about. (Precise text, please.)

  • Quicktime error code : -3

My Toshiba Tecra S2 laptop running XP Pro SP2 went in to standby and froze there (common problem). Upon rebooting iTunes "has encountered an error and needs to close" every time I try to run it.
I have uninstalled, re-downloaded and upon attempting re-install I get "Quicktime error code : -3" and the install fails.
This is driving me crazy. Any ideas

I deleted the iTunes folder in MyDocuments/MyMusic (renaming iTunes.old instead of deleting will preserve files)and re-installed and everything appears to work.
