Quicktime Export - Keynote, Streaming, and Movie Controller Settings

A few questions regarding qt export from keynote -
Is there a way to save quicktime export settings in keynote? Right now I'm exporting multiple files to custom sizes, and have to manually enter the size every time.
I'm exporting for streaming as well, and have to select it in the qt settings window every time.
also, is there a way to choose to show the movie controller when exporting a movie? Now I have to open the movie after export in qt pro and choose window>movie properties>presenation>movie controller type>movie controller (it defaults to none when exporting from keynote).
also, oddly enough, is seems that saving the movie after choosing to show the movie controller removes the streaming setting (movies wait to load completely before playing).
Thanks!

No answer to the main question...but the final question--
When you edit a QuickTime movie, even if the edit is merely to change the settings on the controller, it breaks fast-start. You should be able to fix it by doing a "Save As..." instead of saving the movie in place. But that doesn't seem to work in all versions of QuickTime; I have noticed that certain versions of QT-7 seem to break fast-start altogether.
There is an app out there called "Lillipot" that will fix this for you. Drag your movie to Lillipot, it does whatever magical conversion is necessary to make fast-start work again.

  • Quicktime export still uses reference movie!

I am trying to export a file to deliver to a client. It plays in QT player 7 fine--so I go to Export... and choose my settings, then click OK. Then I burn the resulting file to a DVD.
When I try to play this file on another computer, I get an error saying an audio.aif cannot be found, and without it the movie cannot play properly. This is the same kind of warning you get when you save a reference movie and delete the original file. But I didn't do that...I exported and waited as it recopied every frame!
    What's going on?

Same problems here and have spent days on every variable option. Thank you though for the tip of Snapz Pro. I'm downloading a trial now to see if that works but I'm concerned about the quality of the final file. I'm actually thinking of finding a way to export the Keynote into a video editing program and bring the AAC or .Mov files in separately and re-size them on top of the Keynote Quicktime to re-edit the timings. Anyone tried that yet?

  • Quicktime Export looses links and controls

Hello, I've done a little keynote presentation with only 4 slides, the first page is the intro with 2 links, the first link takes you to slide #2 where I have a little quicktime movie in mp4, there are 2 more links on the bottom, one takes you to the intro page and the other one takes you to slide #3 where I have some text that I've typed.
I click the play button on keynote and everything works fine, 100%.
After I export the job to quicktime I get a .mov, I open it and the intro looks fine, I click on the link that takes me to page #2 where I have my video and the controls are missing, so it doesn't look as it did in the preview.
When I click on the link that takes me to the intro something weird happens and automatically the slide goes back to the video.
If I click to go to the 3rd page with the text it does the same thing.
If on the intro page I avoid to click the link for the video page, and I click the link that takes me to page #3 with the text everything works fine.
The presets for quicktime are Manual Advance and Full Quality Large and Include Audio etc...
Is this a bug or I'm doing something wrong?
ps. if I export the same exact job but without the video all the links work fine.
    Thanks

QuickTime Pro can't export audio from muxed track formats (MPEG 1 or 2 and Flash).
If the file "plays" using QT Player you can use Pro to save it in a .mov "wrapper" and it will play as intended but will not reduce in file size.
You could export the video portion of the .swf format but it will probably increase in file size (even at smaller dimensions). You could also use a tool like WireTap to "record" the audio and add it back into the QT Pro export.

  • Quicktime Export Error (-11) and now HDD is full

I was trying to Export a AVI file, XviD Codec, using Quicktime earlier today to Mpeg4, iPod format. I had nearly 50 Gigs free on my HDD at the time. Halfway through, in 3 attempts, it would give me an "Export Error (-11)". I gave up, no loss.
A few minutes ago I noticed a warning on my screen stating that my Startup Disk was nearly full. When I checked Finder, it now says "Zero KB Available"
In the Applications Monitor, Quicktime helper was consuming 98% of my CPU, so I forcequit the Quicktime Helper. And I quit and all applications normally, Besides Firefox and Finder at the moment.
How do I recover this lost disk space? Anyone else have this problem

The HardDrive space was consumed by log files, in /Library/Logs/Console/501/
Why would this happen? Is it a bug found in the Quicktime Software that loops in error instead of breaking after a certain point?

  • Time stream and Factory Calendar settings issue. Problems in scheduling!!

    Hi,
We have a factory calendar of working days from SUN-THU only (5 days a week).
Every working day starts at 07:00:00 (first shift) and ends at 06:59:59 at the following day.
I am not sure how to set the time stream. Do I set it for daily (5 days a week) with gaps start at 07:00:00. Or, as the standard way as daily (all days 1 -7) 00:00:00 - 23:59:59 without gaps.
We are using the planning board to schedule production orders that were created in ECC, but we see that we have problems with date corelation between the systems, and we think it is due to some wrong setting of the time stream!
    Thanks for your replies

    Hi,
For scheduling, the time stream of resource is relevent. As to how to generated the time stream, it depends on your resource capacity setting and your factory calendar. I'm not sure why your factory calendar starts at 7:00:00 daily. For the time steam of the resource, it should be ok to start at 7:00:00, and you mayexecute the time stream generation (ta. /sapapo/rest02) to save the time stream in LiveCache.

  • ASAP! Exporting to Powerpoint and move it from computer to computer

I want to be able to load my xcelsius dashboard onto powerpoint, have it displayed (at least when played) and have it be able to move from computer to computer without any problems or changes.  How can I do this?  I really need an answer quickly.  Thank you in advance.  I am currently using windows Vista and office 2007.  I want all this to be done simply...

    Hi Ben,
It looks like I'm having issues when viewing SWF files within the PPTX extension as well.
You may want to try and use PPT extension for now.  In the event that one of the machines viewing the PowerPoint presentation doesn't have Office 2007 installed, using PPT would be a safe bet that they'll be able to view the file as most Office suites use the PPT extension (while PPTX is viewable in only PowerPoint 2007).
    Thanks.

  • How to make high-quality QuickTime export?

I have a question regarding the QuickTime export.
I have a very pretty Keynote Preso with some nice transitions, and I want to export to QuickTime. When I export with expert settings, using H.264, 60fps, 512x384, the movie looks great - but plays VERY choppy even on my dual-core 2.0 GHz mac. It looks pretty, and if I step through the frames I can see they're all there... it should be able to transition smoothly, but the transitions look awful.
I've noticed that if I export an interactive QuickTime movie, the transitions are smooth and beautiful! But I don't want it to require user clicks - I want it automatic. So:
    - Can I make my QuickTime export look good AND smooth?
    or
    - Can I make the "interactive" QuickTime export play by itself?

Effectively, I post this because I hope help other one to solve this issue.
So at first I didn't not very clearly understand about it.
The issue point is hope export AVCHD disk form Premiere/Encore.
(Premiere Element can export AVCHD file).
Now, I thought the Premiere/Encore can't export AVCHD disk.
The menu describe form in the other one, I think is not  issue point and maybe operate mistake.
    thank you!

  • Am I exporting to Self Contained Movie properly?

    Hi,
I think I'm doing this properly, but perhaps someone will have more experience and expertice!  We shoot on a Canon XF300 camera, which natively captures on XDCAM HD422 720p30 (50mbs).  FCPro 7 could capture natively, but am I correct, X cannot?  (Please . . . somebody tell me Apple does have the codecs for XDCAM native import!)
No problem, we open 7 to capture from our cards we shoot on.  THEN we quit 7, open X and import the files!  So we keep the fast import speed and "smaller" files (50 mbs vs. 65 in Prorez) of the individual captured clips.  We import for highest quality at Prorez 422 into X.  Edit everything - and now for the question.
It's time to export a master.  I have "learned" this - I THOUGHT if  X was set (in the edit menu) to ProRez 422 better performance, or the Best quality, or Proxy - I THOUGHT when you export, the quality wa always the best X can do.  (Basically ProRez422 at 65mbs.)
But I find now I was wrong!
When I export to Self Contained Movie with settings left on "Proxy" the exported file is ProRes422 and plays at 20mbs.  Much "lower" quality than we want.  But leave all setting the same in X, except change the "quality" to original or optimized best performance OR BEST quality - the export is still ProRes422, but the data rate is 65mbs.  (Which I assume is "better"!)  BTW, we use 12x720.
So I was wrong!  It's important (I'm guessing and looking for conformation) that if we want the BEST export quality, we should NOT have it set to PROXY!
I think everyone will agree with everything I've said so far, as that's what we're finding.  But NOW I see X will export at XDCAM Prores422 at 50mbs (by changing the codec on the export menu.)  Now, the result is 50mbs (lower than 65mbs, good! Takes up less data)
But . . . WHY would X export at XDCAM Prores422HD (at 50mbs) but NOT IMPORT OUR NATIVE FOOTAGE OF THE SAME VINTAGE?
    What am I missing here?
Thanks - hopefully many people have the same thoughts?
    Larry

Tom, it's all a bit confusing, although I have spent considerable time with Canon on this!  What I KNOW is FCP 7 will import footage shot on our Canon XF300 natively.  The exact codec FC uses is
"XDCAM HD422 720p30 (50mbs)"  It works beautifully.  2 BIG advantages for us - it uses 50mbs when it converts to QT files (vs. 65mbs in ProRes)  and it imports native clips about 4 times faster than converting to Prores.  (On the other side, though - when you render in FC - if the sequence is setup on the cative codec above - it DOES take considerable longer to render anything but that's life, I guess!!
FC then exports using that codec as well, making the self contained exports play at 50mbs, NOT 65 that ProRes seems to.
BUT . . . as we discussed above - FCP X will export to "XDCAM HD422 720p30 (50mbs)" but NOT injest footage in the XDCAM format.  We  ingest with 7, then quit 7 and open X to import the files - I don't understand why FCP X exports in XDCAM, but not log and transfer files natively in that same codec?
    Thanks,

  • Keynote with embedded .mov exported to Quicktime and then WMV (Flip4Mac)

    Hi,
I have a Keynote with an embedded .mov file (video and audio) half way through which exports to Quicktime fine ("Keynote .mov").
When I use Flip4Mac to convert the Keynote .mov to WMV the resulting WMV file works fine but stops when the audio of the Keynote .mov stops i.e. Flip4Mac doesn't render the last of the Keynote .mov
I have sought help over at Flip4Mac tech support forum but thought someone here might know the answer.
I have tried a variety of different .mov files in my Keynote but the same in all cases: export to QT is fine but Flip4Mac stops converting the Keynote .mov at the end of any audio.
I can extract the audio track and Flip4Mac will convert the Keynote .mov (video) all the way through.
    Help?

what format are the movies you placed on your slides? This makes a big difference in if they get included in the exported QT movie.

  • QuickTime movie in Keynote 3 want to export Keynote as QT

So I have a Keynote presentation. It is mostly images but 3 slides play small Quicktime movies. Interviews I did on DV, converted to 320x240 using Sorenson V3 and IMA 4:1 audio. In Keynote 3.0, they now have controls. They play great.
But I need to export the presentation so others can use it without keynote.
The only option seems to be exporting it as as a Quicktime movie.
Actually, with trial and error, the Quicktimes in the Quicktime play great. BUT are missing controls!
So anyone viewing the interactive Quicktime from a CD-R has no choice but to watch each clip. Longest is 17 minutes so a pause or stop is an option that is needed.
Does anyone know how to get those QT controls (or at least stop or pause) into the movie inside the exported interactive Quicktime from Keynote?
Is there a 3rd party solution? I'm desperate.
Alternatively, if anyone knows how to do same but as a Flash file, that would be fine too.
This was problem in Keynote 2.0 as well. My presentation size is big enough.
Considering the convergence of audio and video all over Apple product line, I just don't get why this was not considered for the 3.0 update. I want to export my lectures for students to self run. I'm probably not the only university professor who shows video and would like Apple to deal with this ASAP.

  • QuickTime 7.0.3 and 7.0.4 won't play Expo Keynote or other streaming video

I have been trying to watch the Mac Expo Keynote but nothing works. I click on the keynote link and a file is downloaded (qtbutton_100.mov). Clicking on this file get me to a Quicktime player window, without screen (audio only) and the title "Watch the Keynote Address." Pressing play only moves the progress arrow to the end of its range (far right) but there is no video at all.
On other sites trying to open a video stream I get a Safari Window: "Autoback.html." It's totally blank. This problem actually appeared a week or two ago but now it's impossible to watch or download any video in Quicktime.
QuickTime 7.0.4 installed now with every plugin I could find - especially new Flash and Shockwave and Windows Media.
The same was true for Quicktime 7.0.3 which I updated thinking that might solve the problem.
Does anyone else see this or know where the problem lies?
    Thanks
    MartyP

I tried the 7.0.1 reinstall from 7.0.4 without luck. No effect - everything was the same. I also have another strange effect I forgot to mention before; When at Apple's home page, clicking on the Quicktime tab causes the page to rapidly open and then close back to the home page. Then a second later I hear a file that was sent to my download folder (btn_launchguide.gif). That file, a logo, opens Preview but nothing else.
I'm going to look for and install QT 7.0.1 from an original package rather than the reinstall one . I'm also going to reinstall 10.3.9 on one of my volumes. there are just too many issues with Tiger (that I'm having) - much less with Panther.
    Thanks for everyone's replies

  • Correct settings for editing videos in web format and Mov Export

Under Premiere CS3 it was possible to create a project based upon web resolutions i.e 1024x768 and after editing export it as a simple .mov file. Under CS4 this seems to have been totally removed and only video dimensions appertaining to the TV or Film are available with no reference to web resolutions at all.
I tried to open up a project file that I saved in Premiere CS3 in CS4 but this just results in the preview being blurred. If anyone has information on how to import a movie at 1024x768 into Premiere and edit it and then just export as a basic .mov file at the same size (1024x768) I would be very grateful, I have spent hours trying to work this out.
    Dave Thurston

    Dave,
What are the specs of your source footage? The more detail, the better.
That is what you will set your Project/Sequence to. For odd Frame Size and other irregularities, you will need to be in Desktop Mode and set everything according to your source footage. That's why I asked for details on what you are Importing. The format/CODEC will be important. If you do not know, then G-Spot will be your friend and tell you.
    Good luck,

  • Quicktime Export settings for projected slide presentation

I'm looking to find the best quicktime export settings to use in order to have a Keynote 3 presentation as a stand alone movie. I will be projecting the movie from a PC onto a large screen at 1024 x 768 resolution. The project is for a photography club public presentation, and needs to be top quality.
    Thanks for your input

    Barbara,
The 640X480 vs 720X480 dilemma is an interesting subject! DV Video and Video DVDs use 720X480 resolution. TVs do not have square pixels, but computer monitors do have square pixels - so some adjustment is needed, and 640X480 is the square pixel down-converted equivalent for computers to the 720X480 in non square pixels used by TVs......make sense?
    iDVD supports high definition video
Well what this means is iDVD can read HD video files, and convert them to standard definition Video DVDs. It does NOT mean that iDVD can produce HD DVDs. HD DVDs and HD DVD players are not on the market yet.
Today's Video DVDs are not high resolution, they are 720X480. The only way to get higher resolution is to avoid the Video DVD standard, and just make a data DVD. This will not be playable on commercial DVD players, only on computers with the right software and codecs. If I needed to make professional presentations on large screen high resolution monitors, I would not use Video DVDs. Bring a new powerbook and use H.264
If you want to go the DVD route anyway, then 720 X 480 is the best you can get. I'd tell FotoMagico to export in HD (720p). This is a bit of overkill, as iDVD will encode at a lower resolution, but I've gotten good results that way.
You may have to use the anamorphicizer to get iDVD to realize the movie is Widescreen.

  • Exporting Keynotes into Quicktime

I teach K-6 graders and I like to begin each lesson with a recorded lesson they watch on the computer in front of them and then we practice what I taught them in the presentation.  I was using Keynote, but it had problems with embedded videos at times.  I like to add embedded videos while I explain and show them what they are expected to do.  The audio would play but often the video would not.
So I began recording the presentations and exporting them to Quicktime.  I didn't have a problem until this week.  Most worked fine, but two do not have the controls in the video.  By that I mean, when you mouse over the presentation, I would like students to be able to pause, rewind, rewatch, etc. as they need to but the controls are not showing up on the mouse over.
This is only happening on these two videos.  The rest work perfectly and I have tried multiple times.  I cannot find anything that is set differently.  The only difference is that these are made for 5th and 6th graders and are slightly longer than the other videos.
Has anyone experience with this?  Older discussions point to using paths that my version of Quicktime simply doesn't have and I am at a loss.
    Thanks

    Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the info. But I can not get any setting to come out looking widescreen. All settings come out square looking. I have tried every setting I can think of but all the QuickTime exported movies come looking like (i.e.: 800X854) more box than widescreen. I think it must be some setting I do not know about or some combination or possibly the capture setting (easy setup).
    Thanks for your help.
