Quicktime export with Audio ?

Using Keynote '08, when I export a Keynote presentation with Recorded Timing using Quicktime for export, there is none of the audio that I recorded. Has this been fixed in Keynote '09, or do I still have to use some kind of workaround?

For clarity's sake -----
I got the EXPORT with Audio to Quicktime part to work, using the DEMO of Keynote '09.
But I was NOT able to get Keynote '09 to RECORD the Audio.
When I tried to do an animation with Recorded Timing using Keynote '09, here's what happened.
I set up a small animation with a move.
Hit the RECORD button.
Spoke over the top of the animation.
It looked like it was recording.
The red light was on and the little meter was working.
But after finishing, when I went back to the Audio section in the Inspector,
there was no Slideshow Recording listed.
In other words - the recording did not take.
So I had to do my ANIMATION & AUDIO RECORDING using Keynote '08.
And then open that file using Keynote '09.
Then EXPORT using Quicktime.
That worked.
Go figure.
I'm using ---
PowerBook 1GHz with 512 MB Ram & 64 MB VRam
OS X 10.5.6
Quicktime Player 7.5.5

  • Exporting Quicktime .mov with audio

I searched for a solution to my problem for a while and haven't found any so I felt I'd finally ask.
I am exporting a movie in Premiere Pro 2.0 as a .mov.  Yet everytime I export the audio quality is awful. The audio plays fine within premiere, and the video exports perfectly.  I've tried uncompressed audio, and the result is a loud static sound.  I've tried multiple compressors (oblivious to which I should be using) none of which offered good results (sometimes it was even silent).  What settings should I be using?  (By the way, the audio in the scene is .mp3 and .wav, but I felt using the uncompressed setting would be find since I wouldn't be recompressing the audio)
I'm sure this is a very basic issue that has been addressed multiple times, but I couldn't find a thread or resource on the internet that helped with this issue I'm having. Thank you for any help you can offer, I appreciate it.

I use the same settings, as you, with one exception - instead of 8-bit, choose 16-bit for the Sample Depth.
I also dislike using MP3 as a source. With the exception of tiny SFX files, I always convert these to PCM/WAV (Uncompressed) 48KHz 16-bit, before Import. That does NOT restore all the data lost with the MP3 compression (I hate the sound with MP3, but that's a different topic), but it gives me the best source to edit. I use Adobe Audition, but the free Audacity does a great job of this.
Hope that the 16-bit does the trick for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
BTW - what are you using to play the resulting MOV?

  • Quicktime exports without audio

Movies from my camera play fine with audio on quicktime and youo tube but when I export to create file for my iphone, the options page says no audio file and exported movie has no audio. Help anyone?

QuickTime can view MPEG-1 formats but can't extract audio of muxed files during export.
    Use MPEG Streamclip (free).

  • HELP!---Quicktime Export Loosing Audio

    Thanks for reading this.
I have a quicktime that I downloaded. It's called Batman Dead End. Perhaps you've seen it. Well I saved it from the site and now want to bring it into after effects so that I can crop out the black bars, so I can save it as an MPEG4 file and copy it to my PSP.
My problem is when I try to import into after effects, I get an error. AE doesn't like the compression codec or something. However this isn't my Quicktime Problem...
My problem is that I can't export the Quicktime file using QTP 7.0.2, with AUDIO. Video is not a problem. I tried many different codecs, but I am never presented with the option to export my audio. When I save the file in whatever codec, I loose the audio.
These are the codecs I've tried:
    MPG4
    MPG4 (ISMA)
    MPG4 H.264
    QUICKTIME MOVIE
    AVI
Here's one thing... I tried DV. It gave me the audio option and the video exported nicely out as a .DV file. However I am sure I won't always have such nice big video to export without it looking like crap. If I am downloading a movie trailer (as I like to do) then I will have a problem saving those files as .DV.
Can you guys & gals help?

What's the format of the original clip? If it's MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, you've run up against a limitation WRT QT & muxed audio tracks in those formats.
You'll need to use MPEG Streamclip to demux/transcode into another format.

  • Quicktime export = choppy audio first 5 to 10 seconds

When I export a composition to a Quicktime movie file using the default settings, I get a file that has choppy audio for the first 5 to 10 seconds and then it smooths out and plays just fine.
However, when I shift everything forward on the timeline by 10 seconds and then export the composition, the audio plays just fine once the movie starts playing.
It seems like up to the first 10 seconds of the audio get corrupted on an export. I've tried all different combinations of Quicktime export settings and get the same results. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the audio file itself; I'm only using high-quality .wav files.
    Details:
    After Effects v8.0.2.27
    QuickTime Pro 7.4.1
    Windows XP SP2
    Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

OK, tried the suggestion from Jonas on avoiding 'Export' and used the render queue instead and... Viola! Worked like a charm.
I went back and scrutinized the differences between the two and found the problem; the export settings were set to 44.1khz for the audio vs. the 48k for my render queue setting. I changed the audio to 48khz for the export settings, tried it again, and this time the problem was gone.
Thanks again for the tips and ultimate solution.

  • Embed Quicktime export with hyperlinks in web page

I've got a project I exported from Keynote with hyperlinks -- forward, back, return to menu, etc.
The links work fine in the Quicktime export playing in the player. They work fine if I open the file directly in a web browser.
If I embed the file in a web page, however, the link functionality goes away, and it ends up as a 'click-to-advance' movie. Does anyone know if there's a parameter I need to include in the embed code to enable hyperlinks? I couldn't find any likely candidates in Apple's official list...

My apologies; something must have gone wrong with my export. Tried again, and it works fine!

  • MXF export with audio problems

    Hi!
At the brodcast station that I work we recently upgrade to premiere CC. Our workflow are almost XDCAM files (MXF) and whe an edition is finished we export to MXF to play out or copy to XDCAM disc.
Recently I have a multi camera project and everything works perfect but when I export to an MXF file the sound as a "blank frame" in sound. The concert as an hour and twenty minutes and at the fisrt second
theres is that little "cut" in sound that doesn't exist in timeline.
I tryed various ways to export and everytime I got this frame in the same place. I also export timelines with 2 minutes from other projects, more simple, and always I got a "blank frame" somewhere in audio.
Tryed to export with 2 channels, 8 channels, stereo timeline multichannel timeline and everything result in a MXF in this audio issue.
Anyone already detect this exporting to MXFs, any sugestion to resolve this problem?

Thank you norok65 for replying this post.
I searched for some post with my problem and I didn't find so I post this one. I'm "glad" that I'm not the only one having this Kind of problem.
Like you said the problem cames with some updates. We used Premiere CS5 and no problem with MXF. We tryed the CS6 to possible update and
at the begining no problem but after some updates this problem appears and we abandoned the CS6 and we tested the CC. No problem with CC
and we did the migration. So, CC export MXFs with no problem but after some updates the audio problems came up again.
I think the problem is the updates and Adobe must fix this.
Jim, I already did some tests and exported only audio to WAV and no problem. Other formats like quictime no problem too.
This kind of problem only appears with MXF.
Like I said our workflow are almost everything in MXF (XDCAM) and we wish this issue can be solved.

  • Quicktime Export With FCP Markers

Is there a plugin/program that would allow me to export a Quicktime that includes markers from the FCP timeline?
I would like to be able to export a QT with a marker at every cut that would allow the viewer to jump to each one, and even loop between marks.
What I am NOT looking for:
    DVD Chapter Markers.
A QT tutorial of how to Trim to Selection and Loop.

If you export with markers they will show up in the QuickTime file and the markers should show up in the pulldown in the QuickTime Player you can jump to the markers.
But it sounds like you want to be able to author a QuickTime movie that adds something more than that (the looping or another means of jumping?)

  • Premiere Pro CC can't open audio from QuickTime exports with Animation Codec

Exported a file with format: QuickTime VideoCodec: Animation, with an alpha channel. When I opened the exported file back up in CC it doesn't recognize or play back the audio, but when I opened it in cs6 it worked.

    Hi LeGrandCorbeau,
I had the same issue and solved, here is how:
Opened a new project and instead of choosing presets I selected resolution as 2048*1152 and 25fps which was the same with my ProRes footage and preview file format to I-Frame Only MPEG everything everthing got just fine!
    Good Luck

  • Exporting Keynote to Quicktime movie with audio

I am struggling to get this to work although I have done so previously. I have a fully functioning keynote with an embedded quicktime movie and an audio file. The Keynote works fine.
When I try to export it I just get the audio file!! I am opting for 'manual' even thought the Keynote is a looped production without the need for any manual input.
    Any ideas? thanks

Exporting to Quicktime with sound seems to have been restored ok in Keynote 09 as I have just tested it on the trial download copy. Up until then I have been importing into Garage Band without sound and adding it there which is successful but I think the quality of picture is better with only one step i.e within Keynote itself.

  • Quicktime player with audio only?

    I have two problems:
First, I use Coursecompass an educational tool which use Quicktime to access it's multimedia. However, when I try to access it, all I get is audio but not any video.
Second, I also ordered the Pro version figuring it would be the solution, but the instructions to activate it sent me to my control panel to access Quicktime. However, even though I have the player on my computer, there is no box for it in my control panel. Does anyone have an idea of what's wrong?

I also ordered the Pro version figuring it would be the solution
Actually no, that won't help. The Pro key only unlocks the editing and export/conversion capabilities of QuickTime Player. Pro doesn't add anything to the ability of the free version to play a file.
but the instructions to activate it sent me to my control panel to access Quicktime. However, even though I have the player on my computer.
If you have Vista on your computer, launch QuickTime Player and go to the Register menu command under Edit -> Preferences.
But as I said, a Pro registration won't add any playback capabilities. Have you contacted Pearson about the problem? If not, you might start with this support article on their site.
    Regards.

  • Still Frame Quicktime Export with Interlace. what can I do?

    hi.
do you know how to avoid the interlacing happening when making a still frame with quicktime conversion in fcp? I need some stills for promotional purposes but the interlacing is a problem obviously.
    thanks for you help.
    best rob

2 ways- make a freeze frame and export a still of that or de-interlace in photoshop.
The problem is you are throwing away half of the vertical resolution. If you're going to be printing these, they'll look like heck. I understand there's a niftyplug in called genuine fractals for photoshop that does a decent job of up-rezzing.

  • QuickTime Export Boosts Audio Level

    Hi folks,
I'm working on a DV-NTSC project in which I have received a fully maximized audio track
that I put in the timeline without any processing. I am now exporting the movie
    using QuickTime - Current Settings.
The resulting movie should have the AIFF audio exactly the same as the original mix,
but it's consistently hotter. Since the mix is already maximized, that means I get clipping.
I found that when I export using separate tracks the volume is exactly the same.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?

OK, tried the suggestion from Jonas on avoiding 'Export' and used the render queue instead and... Viola! Worked like a charm.
I went back and scrutinized the differences between the two and found the problem; the export settings were set to 44.1khz for the audio vs. the 48k for my render queue setting. I changed the audio to 48khz for the export settings, tried it again, and this time the problem was gone.
Thanks again for the tips and ultimate solution.

  • Quicktime Export causing Out of Sync Audio?

I'm trying to export a self contained Quicktime movie from my timeline, and every time I try, the audio ends up being out of sync. What am I doing wrong?
The audio is set to just the defaults, 16 bit, 48khz.
    Sequence settings: HDV1080p30
When I bring the final exported movie back into FCP, it plays out of sync.
Exporting through the Share feature to bluRay resulted in perfect sync audio, so I'm at a loss as to why this isn't working.
    Please help!

Allright, since nobody out there seems to have the answer - I'm going to share what I discovered so that the next person will actually get an answer without having to spend hours and hours finding it in other forums. Here goes:
Problem: Audio plays in sync on the timeline, an export from the timeline through Share to bluRay results in correctly synced audio; but a Quicktime Export with current settings results in a final movie where audio is out of sync with the video.
Solutions: I found two solutions to this problem:
1- When exporting to Quicktime Movie, check "recompress all frames". This solution had mixed reviews, with lots of people saying you should never do this, as it will reduce the quality of your final output; while others said the reduction in quality was not noticeable to the naked eye. I guess you can try it and be the judge.
2- In your sequence settings, change the compression setting to Apple Pro Res. This is the setting I decided to go with, as I'm currently awaiting the 10 hour render.
I did do a quick and dirty test on the ProRes option, where it appeared to work. Since the audio is correctly synced in the beginning of the video and then slowly falls out of sync (obviously the 30p to 29.97 problem), I had to run a test using my entire sequence. If you run a test on a 2 minute sequence, it will appear to be correct, because it is a slow falling out of sync issue - the problems occur later in your project (just fyi). Here is what I did (in case you want to try it on your project):
I created a new sequence and then changed the compression setting from HDV1080-30p to Apple Pro Res 422. I dragged my sequences into this sequence (so they were nested). I unlinked the audio and then selected about a 20 second area from about 3/4 of the way through the project. I sliced this section and then removed all the video before and after (so it would speed up render time and only render black, but I would still be able to see if the audio synced up later - I hope that makes sense - this made my export time only 12 minutes). After it exported, I reimported the movie, found the little 20 second area, and it was correctly synced. So, now I am exporting the whole thing. I sincerely hope this works. I don't have lots of 10 hour blocks just lyin' around!
Since my audio issue was most likely due to the fact that I captured and edited in 1080 30p, I believe it must be a bug in FCP that exports the Quicktime movie in 29.97 regardless of whatever your sequence settings are (believe me, I tried to change it to 1080-30p and it didn't work). That is why I think the Apple Pro Res option works, but it involves a total re-render of your project. This is also why I believe it plays fine in the timeline, because my timeline was set to 30p. Again, I also believe that is why my export to BluRay through Share resulted in correctly synced audio - the bluRay export I believe uses the Pro Res codec (which, by the way, took 19 hours).
Wish Apple would fix this bug.

  • Adobe Premiere CC is crashing while exporting to AME, but only with Audio effects on tracks...

    Hi everyone,
I've had ZERO issues with Adobe CC up until this past weekend.
I built a new PC (i7 5960x, X99 Deluxe MOBO, 16 GB DDR4 Ram, Windows 8.1) and I'm having strange issues while exporting from Adobe Premiere.
The export box comes up fine but when I send it to the Adobe Media Encoder Queue, a white box comes up and hangs Premiere.
I tried reinstalling both Premiere and AME, but that didn't help. I decided to take off all of my audio plugins from all of the tracks and it seems to work consistently.
I've never had this problem in the past.
It even hangs/freezes when I have Adobe stock plugins on (Radio Leveler preset single-band compressor as an example).
I had intermittent success while holding the SHIFT key while launching AME, then doing the export (with audio plugins), but it's not ideal.
    Can anybody help?
    Edit: All updates are installed.

I have the same problem and it recurs with successive versions of the software that your subscribers are beta testing for you, Adobe Premiere CC. Please rectify.
