Quicktime & Flip4Mac video streaming

Hi,
I've been streaming the tour de france live on versus. I watched both stages last weekend but then updated to quicktime player 7.2 during the week.
Now when I go to open the stream from: http://www.myp2p.eu/Other.htm
it opens quicktime (and I have the latest version of flip4mac) and it just gives me a spinning colour wheel. When I go to force quit the application it tells me the app isn't responding...
Anyone have any ideas? this is doing my head in!

Tried it on another machine (PC) and it turns out the stream is down...wooops

  • How can I use QuickTime SDK to get Compress format of Video stream?

I can get uncompress video stream like this:
    QDerr = NewGWorldFromPtr( &m_hGWorld, k32BGRAPixelFormat, &rcMac,
    NULL, NULL, 0, (char*)m_pVideoBuffer,
    m_sAVFileInfo.sResInfo.ulWidth*4);
then the m_pVideoBuffer is uncompress video stream. How can I use QuickTime SDK to get Compress format of Video stream? I could change "k32BGRAPixelFormat" to other format, use other API or something?
Could someone have the method? Best Wishes!

Firefox, I would make sure you update your Desktop to Firefox 14.0.1, as the version you are running is quite old and out of date.
Then, do you have your Sync Recovery key, username and password? If you do, you can re-add Firefox Sync to your computer.

  • QuickTime Pro - error copying a segment from a video-stream.

I got one video-stream running, in QuickTime, has so since the last 10 hours. Also a finished stream from another program. The latter I made a segmented copy from, via QuickTime.
Copying the file to my desktop started, but just left a small file, rather than 1 hour of video. The window of this copy can't be closed. I have moved this file to the Trash. One stream is still running, it's about a train-trip, minute by minute - Bergen to Oslo - a 100 years anniversary - 'Bergensbanen' in Norway. The other stream, from which I made a segmented copy, is also still at my desktop, accessible - stream has ended. Attempting a new copy, does not solve my pickle.
I can't close the window of my copied video, in order to make a new one. According to my modem, I'm still receiving video-data, but no video-output, this data is probably from the 'train-video.' I don't want to loose the 'train-video', or the other one, in order to make a new segmented copy of the latter.
Any input on how to salvage the one stream running, the video of the ended stream, and delete/close the segmented copy, are appreciated.

    Files can be accessed online.
    Internet streams?
They are never on your computer's hard drive to begin with so there's nothing to save.
Think of it like a broadcast TV show.
Streams are only temporarily held in RAM and then only a small part at a time. Whoever provides the media in this form does so because they don't want folks to be able to save it, only watch it.
What you saved to your desktop was a Reference Movie -it points at a file stored elsewhere, which in this case is a server on the internet.

Can QT pro record video streams off the internet? I thought it was only able to capture embedded video files. Video streams aren't donwloaded into cache, so they have to be saved as they're received. Could someone clarify? Thank you.

  • Video streaming stalls in full screen mode

I'm not sure to be in the right category, but my Laptop runs in Tiger and I happen to use video streaming from different websides like ESPN Live and other websides with their own players. I use even some that require a program dowload to be able to see their content. By all those sources the video runs pretty smooth in a normal size. As soon as I put it to full screen it stalls in a certain rhythm no matter if the whole program is buffered or not.
I achieved better results with one of the providers using WMP that via flip4mac streams into Quicktime. Just don't know if and how I could incorporate those other webside players into Quicktime. And if this would be the solution.
I freed up some of my HD to achieve better performance. Have 18 GB free out of 100.. is this too little ?
Do I need a better video card ?

    Ba,
It may be of interest to know that streaming video codecs are designed for computers of a specific age (CPU and GPU speeds).
DVD quality streams MPEG-2 compression at about 10 Mbits/sec, and the older MPEG-1 compression, designed for NTSC television, streams at about 2 Mbits/sec. At 10 Mbits/sec, the processor must work faster to decompress & display the image. The latest compressions are based on MPEG-4. Even a G3 iBook could display MPEG-4 full screen; so I don't think you need a faster GPU.
Microsoft codecs & containers, the last time I checked, were ancient: based upon MPEG-2. So, check your speed:
    DSL Reports speed tests
    http://www.dslreports.com/stest
If you use Wi-Fi, IEEE 802.11n is fastest.
Increase the cache size for your codec, if you can. It needs to be contiguous, so I dare to recommend iDefrag 2 (US$30) to clean your remaining disk space and obtain about 20 GB of contiguous space. Video display uses many operating system files, which are likely not fragmented; but you can also de-fragment the Windows codec if it lies in over 100 fragments. (The Spotlight database usually has over 1000 fragments; but pauses in it don't affect one's pleasure in using it.)
My low-resolution DVD is interpolated by my graphics card, and look beautiful at maximal resolution. Streaming graphics apparently isn't programmed to interpolate low resolution: it demands high resolution and high bandwidth.
If you can't increase the cache in WMP, you can lower the resolution of your monitor. That may be why this System Preference was designed to sit on the desktop's top bar.

  • Slow video streaming speed

I've recently run into some problems streaming videos online. No matter which sites I visit the loading time is extremely slow. Everything else still works fine, it's just when i try to stream videos that it seems to slow down. I've tried using different internet connections (at home, school, friends) and still had the same problem while other computers using the same connection had no problems at all. I've tried disabling the firewall, emptying the caches, checking quicktime settings, reinstalling video codecs (divx, flip4mac, perian etc) nothing seems to work. Videos stream at 1kb/s but I can download the same video to my hard drive at 300+kb/s. If anyone can help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've had the same problem more or less since I've owned this MacBook (@ 18 months). It's a 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM. I've tried all sorts - keeping my Dock items to a minimum,I have a plain Desktop Wallpaper with only 4 Desktop Icons, regularly flush all caches, and (because of the horrendous noise), have done the "Reset" thing on more occasions than I care to remember. I've also kept all video players up to date. Snow Leopard has further exacerbated the problem. Nothing has so far worked for me.
Although I had Apple Care for the first 12 months, I didn't think I needed it any longer so I let it lapse, although I still pay for MobileMe. Since experiencing the "Case Cracking" phenomena, I've tried contacting Apple without success, and I really don't see why I should traipse over 140 miles and pay for a Genius consultation to get the case issue resolved.
The video slowdown is just the tin hat on everything for me. What I have here is an almost unusable piece of cracked junk (almost forgot the keys are also coming away!) that cost me well over a grand. Can you imagine what I said to my wife when I learned she was planning on buying me an iMac (she has the MacBook Pro - which in fairness, isn't plagued with problems)? I've got enough Apple stuff to fill a small suitcase (iPhones, iPods, computers, peripherals), but I won't be buying any more. A sub 500 quid machine running any MS OS or Linux has got to be miles better than this. Good luck in your quest.

  • FMS3: Multiple live video streams

    Hi,
After reading the features and documentation I have a doubt:
Can I have multiple live video streams with FMSS at the same time?
E.g.: Different TV stations broadcast to a single server, and
then the user chooses what station wants to watch.
    Thanks,
    Oriol

Contact them and ask them which video streaming standards they use.  The most popular are:
Windows Media, Windows Media with DRM enabled, MPEG-4, Realplayer, Adobe Flash, and Silverlight. Microsoft has released a Silverlight update for Lion.  http://www.flip4mac.com/ allows native non-DRM Windows Media.  Alternatively, you may need virtualization*. Realplayer's latest update is Lion compatible.  MPEG-4 make sure the version of Quicktime you have installed is the latest.  Adobe's Flash, the same thing.  Also ask them if their website depends on ActiveX.  Again, with ActiveX, virtualization may be your only solution.

  • No audio video streams upon import of .mov files?

Hi... recently upgraded OS onto Intel 240 GB SSD. Running Widows 7 64 bit, clean re-install, 24 GB RAM, NIVIDIA Quadro FX 4800. I have been trying to optimize the system for maximum GPU accelerated effects while also taking advantage of the high speed read and write of my disk. OS runs on SSD, Adobe media cache on separate 2 TB eSATA connection, Media stored on external drive USB 3.0. Without getting into the fine details this is a snapshot of my workflow.
The few problems I am encountering are some .mov files cannot be imported to PP. Error reads no audio or video stream in the files. I suspected metadata issues so tried to import with media browser and still no luck. These files worked perfectly before I began surgery 2 days ago on my computer. I have installed the latest version of quicktime and yet to no avail. Any recommendations here regarding my issue with imports or suggestions to benefit from my hardware would be appreciated.

  • .Mov files in CC : The File Has no Audio or Video Streams

I recently updated premier to CC , since i have issues iimporting any .mov files at all.
The specific ones Im trying for my current project are exports from AE , rendered lossless animation .mov , worked fine in CS6 , will play in quicktime and other generic's but always getting the The FIle Has no Audio or Video Streams message when trying to import into a project.
Quicktime is updated so I can't understand why the won't play, is this a CC bug ?
i go back to cs6 on my other comp they open fine...
Ive seen a few topics on this none with a resolution and most of those where from cam's, this is an export from AE, anyone able to help this is stopping me from working atm ......

I can verify that Apple screen recordings without audio do not import into any Adobe premeier.
Details on screen recording from Gspot v2.70a:
    H.264
    qt  : Apple QuickTime (.MOV/QT)
    File Type: QuickTime (.MOV)
    Mime Type: video/quicktime
    Len: 1:03.083
    Frms: 1,521
    Qf: 0.153
    Frames/s: 20.000
    wx: 1280 x 800
    sar: 1.600 (8:5)
However Apple (MAC OSX) screen recordings WITH audio will import.
I would think this should be fixable with hotfixes...
If you (adobe staff) have access to macbook pros 2012 or 2013 models, open quick time pro, do a screen recording, make sure no audio is recording, just your screen movements.. then export to 1080p video (mov is only option).. then on a windows PC try to import that file into adobe premiere. The file will play perfectly fine natively in windows with any player so long as a H264 decoder is available on that system... the problem here is Adobe Premiere. Not the users system.
    Edit:
To help those with this issue.. just make sure when you render your mov that you have ANY kind of audio in it.. and just remove the audio track once imported into premiere. I know it's frustrating and you would think something as simple as not having an audio track wouldn't break premiere but alas... we have to work around the shortcomings until they decide to fix it.. just like the VFR issue in premiere.

  • Can anyone tell me how to embed a flash video stream in html5

Can anyone tell me how to embed a flash video stream in html5. I have a video stream but would love to be bale to get it to run on ipads so would like to know how to embed the flash video stream in html5 http://www.ravedance.net

    Gary, thank you for responding:
    1) I know my "profile" indicates I'm on Mountain Lion.  I have not figured out how to update that.  I am using Yosemite and Keynote Version 6.5.2 on a 15" Macbook-Pro  (tell me how to update my profile, please - nothing I click on opens any kind of "edit" options)
    2) My 20 sec video does play in Quicktime.  I find nothing in the Quicktime Inspector about deselecting "start movie on click."
    3) in my slide presentation I can insert the video on a slide okay and if I click on it can get it to play, But I cannot seem to get it to play after a transition automatically.  Maybe it cannot be done.  Obviously I would like the entire presentation to play automatically without clicking on or between slides.
Again, thank you for you kind help!

    Flip4Mac
    VLC Media Player http://perian.org
    Perian (AVI and FLV support)
    MPEG Streamclip

    Type of internet service?
    Choppy YouTube Video Solution
Download the latest flash player from Adobe. After installing, repair permissions & restart your computer.
Go to YouTube, open any video and press pause (don't do this while video is playing). Click the ctrl key or “right click” the mouse in the middle of the video window. The settings for flash player will pop up.
Select the video settings then select "enable hardware acceleration."    Press close. Now RESTART YOUR  COMPUTER not just Safari if that is your browser of choice.

  • "Video Stream Attributes"

I'm a newbie to editing video -- I come from the audio end of things. I've been editing web-video with Sony Vegas, using footage we've been shooting with our Sony HVR-Z7U. So far, everything has worked just fine.
Then I asked another editor to send me some video files from a mutual client on a hard drive. He uses Final Cut, and shoots with a Panasonic HDV camera. Here's my problem:
First, when I tried to open the ".mov" files in Sony Vegas, they only played the audio and showed its attributes, but showed the message "Video: Stream attributes could not be determined." So, I thought, I'll just open those .mov files with QuickTime . . . problem was, I got the same result. Audio plays, but no video.
This is a codec issue? Anybody know if there's a way for me to process the files so that QuickTime will read them?
    Thanks,
    baffled newbie

Many of the FCP codecs are not available to QuickTime and most will not work on a Windows OS.
Ask the FCP author to send you an H.264 video codec version.

  • Java Video Streaming

    Hello
I try to get an overview of what's possible according to video streaming in sun's wonderland. The goal is to stream prerecorded videos, stored on a webserver (not necessarily on the same machine like the wl-server ) into our wonderland embedded swing application.
My first investigation shows me, that I have the following possibilities to stream videos in Java:
    - Java Media Framework (JMF)
    - JVLC (VideoLAN Java API)
    - Quicktime Streaming API (only quicktime movies)
    -> http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2005/01/12/strmng_qtj.html
    - Red5 Java Client (only flash movies):
    -> http://www.actionscript.org/resources/articles/617/1/Streaming-and-database-connection-with-red5-media-server/Page1.html
    - Mplayer Java Client:
    -> http://beradrian.wordpress.com/2008/01/30/jmplayer/
So what do you suggest me? What's the best way? Are there any code-examples for streaming videos from a webserver to a local java-client using JMF?
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

    Thanks for your answer...
    >
The "best" way? Considering you're using a Swing application, your best bet is probably going to be JMF. JavaFX has support for playing videos, but I'm not sure if they have support for RTP streams or progressive downloads or anything.
If you wanted to go the extra mile, you could look into embedding a Silverlight or Flash player into your Swing application. Silverlight is pretty cool because it's HD capable...>
Yes I have to develop the video streaming in a swing non-top-level Swing JComponent (such as a JPanel) because this is a wonderland restriction...I don't know JavaFX yet, is it possible to build a JavaFX app inside such a non-top-level Swing component? Embedding silverlight in a java-app isn't a really good idea I think...
Further recherches shows me, that I need on-demand video streaming with the ability to start, stop, play, pause etc. the video which is stored for example on a webserver. This is possible throught RTSP or HTTP according to: [http://www.remlab.net/op/vod.shtml|http://www.remlab.net/op/vod.shtml] ...when I use rtsp, I need a streaming-server like vlc, for http i just need my video stored on a webserver.
So what do I have for possibilities to stream such a video in a java client (non-top-level Swing JComponent) with RTSP or HTTP?
    I've tried following rtp-code-example: [http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/AVReceive.html|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/AVReceive.html]
but it didn't work...I started my vlc-streaming server this way:
cvlc -vvv movie.mpg --sout '#rtp{dst=192.168.1.33,port=1234,sdp=http://localhost:8080}'but the output of the rtp-code-example shows the following:
    run:
    - Open RTP session for: addr: 127.0.0.1 port: 8080 ttl: 1
      - Waiting for RTP data to arrive...
      - Waiting for RTP data to arrive...
      - Waiting for RTP data to arrive...
      - Waiting for RTP data to arrive...
      - Waiting for RTP data to arrive...
With vlc http://127.0.0.1:8080 i receive the stream...
But I couldn't find an example of how I can get an rtsp-stream or a http-stream in jmf...
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

  • Video streaming capture software?

I saw an interesting story over at CNET on software that allows video capture when watching a streaming video. They mentioned there is such software for the Mac. However I'm not able to find anything. Does anyone know of any good software for the Mac to allow you to save a Video stream. I see that Firefox has a pluggin that will do this but it doesn't work with every site.

Snapz Pro has always been able to do that (and MPlayer maybe does) but I know the newer thing you mean, it's a browser Plug-In ?**
This isn't it but might be worth a look:

Unfortunately it is not possible to view video streams that are embedded in webpages.
Is there a way to overcome this problem / are there media player/ silverlight / quicktime plugins available for the n8 internet browser or will this be included in the expected browser upgrade???

As you have already tried re-installing the Firmware and factory resetting the phone all I can suggest is that your C: and/or E: drives are running low on space. How much free space do you have on those drives?
If they are running low try freeing up some memory by clearing out your messaging folders, Email folders and the browsers cache and privacy data. For the E: drive, you may want to move some of your media content to a PC or cloud storage service for safe keeping.
