QuickTime + i-tunes

so i updated my QT and i-tunes for windows and now everytime i try to use i-tunes i get a newer version of quick time required message saying: QuickTime ver. 7.0d0 is installed, itunes requires quicktime 7.0.03 or later. please reinsatll itunes.
ive reinstalled, reparied updated qt to 7.0.4 yet says i have a more up-to-date version.
when trying to run quick time i get :
Microsoft Visual C++ debug library
Debug Error!
this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. yadda yadda
i just want this to work, someone please help!!!

It sounds like you had the old Preview release of QuickTime installed and didn't get it completely removed before you installed the final release. This should help, I believe:
Bugie: Perform a Thorough & Complete Uninstall and Reinstall of iTunes/QuickTime.
Good luck.

  • After Quicktime 7.6 update, can't load i-tunes, logic or quicktime

    Hello everyone.
Would really appreciate some help here.
I'm running a macbook pro (OS 10.4.11, Logic Pro 7.2.3)
In order to view some video files for a project I'm working on, I updated quicktime to 7.6.4, the latest Tiger will run (according to the apple webite). Now neither quicktime, i-tunes nor Logic will load.
I tried updating i-tunes to 9.2.1, but it still doesn't work.
Tried downgrading quicktime, but it won't let me.
Updating to Logic 8, or OS 10.5+ isn't an option at the moment. I just need a few more months out of this laptop, to finish some long-term projects.
What to do? Really stuck now.
    thanks in advance
    Guy

Did you use Disk Utility to verify your drive before installing? Did you use Disk Utility to repair permissions both before and after doing the installation? If not, you may have a corrupt drive (in which case the computer is losing track of files), or permissions are set so components couldn't be replaced or read.
Did you download the update files, or did you use Software Update to install? Many use Software Update but a lot of us prefer to have the updater safe and sound on our computer before letting it run.
Boot from your system installation disc and run Disk Utility to verify your hard drive. If necessary, run repair. Then boot from your internal disc and use Disc Utility there to repair permissions on your computer. Try re-installing the update with a downloaded version. repair permissions again.
Oh, before doing any update it is a good idea to make a bootable backup clone of your drive so you can restore again should something go wrong.

  • Quicktime error codes

My Quicktime/i tunes ran great for 2 days and now it's not running. Each time I try to get my Quicktime up and running I get a error code of 2095 and a window which states"plug in error; plug in would not release or plug in did not initialize. How do I fix this ?
    Thanks

I went to uninstall the quicktime file and I received a message "the following file does not exist or is not a valid
    uninstallation log file".
hmmmmm. with that one, let's get an itunes 7 installation log to the Apple Engineers for a look.
uninstall your existing itunes, and download and save a fresh itunes 7 installer (iTunesSetup.exe) to your hard drive.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing

  • TS1362 I am running windows xp with all the updates. I have an HP Pavilion with an AMD athlon xp-m processor.  I have the most RAM I can install on this PC (1 gig). I also have plenty of disc space(over 60 gig). Why can't I play my .MOV files correctly.

I cannot get the .mov files I recorded on my I-phone 4 to play correctly( i.e. no audio, video jerky at best), on my HP Pavilion laptop with an AMD athlon xp-m, OS=XP, 1 gig ram, plenty of hard drive space >50 gig. Just not enough RAM or am I missing something? I have updated all I can(Quicktime, I-tunes etal). Any ideas?

My first thought when reading your post ( video jerky) is that the CPU doesn't have enough horse power? What is the GHz of the AMD athlon? 1.8 GHz would be right on the edge with video. And where the computer will max out at 1 Ghz of RAM indicates the laptop is older and the CPU probably as well. 1 GHz of RAM maybe low on today's computers but would not be an issue if the CPU was perhaps 2.8 GHz. The audio is less demanding by far on CPU's than video, so that could be a codec?

  • FCP audio

I'm not getting FCP audio (with or w/o headphones) through my Mac, whether through sequence, canvas or viewer. It is showing up on the FCP audio meter, as well as on the meter of my VTR. If I plug headphones into my VTR, I can hear it there. It's only FCP, as audio from Quicktime, I-tunes and websites is fine. I do get an error tone if I try do do something not allowed on FCP. I've gone through my Apple and FCP preferences and settings, but haven't found a way to correct it. It happened suddenly, and I'm sure there's an easy fix, I just haven't found it.

Thanks. It was on "Audio Follows Video," when it should have been "Built-In Audio." It might have switched when I imported some decoded video from a DVD using MPEG Streamclip software. Not sure why it would do that, but at least I know what to look for. Thanks again.

Walk us through what happened with CleanUp, Michelle. In particular, was there no entry for QuickTime in the list of programs in CleanUp?

  • Trying to Install Quicktime separate from I-Tunes

Today I did a dumb thing. I was uninstalling some programs that I never use on my computer and uninstalled Quicktime (not realising it was directly connected to ITunes). Now ITunes will not function without it.
The Error Message I am getting is #2093, but that seems irrelevant - I know what the problem is
I have been to the Apple Site and there are heaps of options for downloading Quicktime, but they are ALL trying to re-install ITunes simultaneously. I started the process, hoping it would recognize the presence of I-Tunes and bypass that, but once it took me to the licensing agreement for ITunes again, I cancelled the program for fear of losing my current I Tunes.
    Does anyone know if:
    a) can I run this installation and NOT lose my current ITunes set up, music, settings, etc. - or...
    b) how I can download Quicktime on its own without affecting my current ITunes, or...
    c) if I have to reinstall I-Tunes, how can I do this without losing my music.
    Thank you!!

My experience with upgrading ITunes has been that I can install the new version and it sort of replaces the existing version. I would doubt if completing the installation would give you bad results. It would probably seamlessly write over the ITunes you are using and you'd never notice any difference (it has always ported over my libraries and all my IPod settings etc. without a hitch).

  • Since mistakenly upgrading Quicktime and I Tunes will not work.

Unfortunately my amd 2700 Windows XP will not take the Service Pack 2 upgrade for whatever reason. It still functions okay, but I mistakenly upgraded my Quicktime along with I Tunes and it will not work. I later read minimum requirements on Apple's site having Service Pack 2 is required. Now I'm frustrated because I can't find an earlier version of either program to download. Unless I buy another computer I'm stuck.

I tried MS for support on SP2, but only found 2 free emails if you had the product ID or it was loaded on the computer. Since I can't load it I can't email or call them. My computer was put together by a computer business so I really can't go back to them since it is not a name brand and it has been at least four years. I am still stuck on what to do. I tried to restore to before the updating of I Tunes, but MS would not let me do that.

  • QuickTime with out i-tunes?

I am a computer tech at a community college where we discourage our students from downloading and playing music on school computers. Is it possible to get the new Quicktime 7.1 with out i-tunes being bundled with it?

  • Help - cant download Quicktime for i-tunes

    Hi,
I'm trying to download and install i-tunes. I had it years ago so I've deleted it from my computer, as well deleting Quicktime.
When I try to download it I get an error message which says "Quicktime. U:drive". I press ok and it says it's unable to install because of a problem with my U drive.
I have gone into windows/system32 and deleted all i-tunes and quicktime related files. I've downloaded Windows Clean Up and used that to do the same.
What is my U drive and why is it affecting my ability to download i-tunes? I was at uni a few years ago and my computer was connected to a network which I think could have been called the u drive...don't know if that's relevant at all.
I'd really appreciate any help with this. I've trawled the web and can't find anyone with the same problem
    Thanks

Many app are not compatible with iOS 3.1.3. I suspect  that you have an the first generation (original) iPod touch. That can only go as hgih as 3.1.3
    Identifying iPod models
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.

  • Unable to update I-tunes due to Quicktime

I just bought my second I-Pod. This one is the new version so I can not use it on I-tunes 6. I tried to update my i-tunes to the 7 version. I cannot uninstall the old version of quick time to install the new version. Since I cannot install the new version of quick time it will not allow me to install the new i-tunes update. I tried to uninstall manually but my computer will not allow me.

    Have a read of this,

by the way, I believe that you already known that iTunes 7 has already included QuickTime software.

  • I tunes w/o QuickTime??

quick time interferes with our accounting system and therefore I cannot have it installed on my computer. Is there a way to still run i tunes w/o Quick Time??

QuickTime provides the actual background services for iTunes (playback, etc.), so no, there's no way to run iTunes without QuickTime.
It's a strange accounting package if QuickTime interferes with it in some way,

Thank you for your quick reply, I am not running any kind of backup software at all, when I-Tunes is running, I can access all folders on my hard drive including the I-Tunes folders, but if I-Tunes does not open via the I-Tunes icon, I will get the timer displayed for about 20-30 secs, then nothing, and if I try to access the I-Tunes folders it will crash the explorer, but if I try to access any other folder before I try to access the I-Tunes folders, they will open without any problems.  It has got me totally puzzled and why should windows display a "remote............" error when just clicking on the computer option from the start menu, it is really all very strange!!
