I have a new computer, Dell Inspiron 530 Dual core 2, running Vista. I have been trying in install Quicktime but receive the error "Another installation is in progress, etc etc." I cannot find the conflict but I am wondering if my Windows Visual C++ 2005 program is corrupted. This computer will not let me download or repair that program, it will not let me install Quicktime or Google Earth or ...
Can anyone help me?

And bump again, do I not deserve support or something? I brought the iPhone 4, surely I should be entitled to actually use the **** thing?

You do meet the hardware requirements. Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to purchase ML.
If you're connected wirelessly to your router, connect with Ethernet.

You are certified but you don't know how to to recover a database with corrupt redo logs? There you have my problem with certificates: they don't tell you jack about the true knowledge of the DBA and his problem solving skills. (or is this exactly what you are saying with "book knowledge"? I am no native English speaker, so I might have misunderstood).
Just enter your ORA-error in a metalink search and you will find notes that explain exactly what to do (the how-to's you mention ;))

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

I'm installing Vista Client SP1 on my Macbook pro and getting the following error:
Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
Almost exactly as described in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930984/ except my error code is 0x80070017. I'm double-checked CRC on my dvd to ensure it's not corrupt. Also I've previously successfully installed Vista SP1 from the SAME DVD on a different Mac Leopard (desktop)
Any ideas? This is a new Macbook pro, just got it yesterday. Could be DVD drive issue?

I'm having problem installing CS 5.5. upgrade from CS 5, on my computer (windows 7, 32 bit)
I have an administrator session.

Based off the information you posted I would recommend you uninstall any pre-release builds or any CS5 products which are already installed. If you continue to have difficulties with the installation then please use the Cleaner tool referenced in Resolve installation problems with CS5 Cleaner Tool | CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3.

Cannot install new iTunes (Error 2324)

Installing an iPhone5 on a PC with an old version of iTunes, tried to download new version and came back with error 2324. Tried to uninstall, same error.
Things I have tried:
User has local admin rights,
Have tried microsoft fix on this page: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Tried CCLeaner
Cannot do in safe mode as no installer service running.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Apple has gotta come up with a fix. why should we pay another company to be able to download an apple program. I am in a real bind because I need to manage my music for new years party and now I don't have itunes at all. Anyone know how to download an older version?

When I try to install a compiled Air Help, the installer always informs me that an error occured and that I should try again. The Error number 0 is displayed - does anybody know what this stands for? This does not seem like a very helpful information for endusers without further explanation..

I cannot help you with the error message but I can clarify when admin rights are required. You need them to install an AIR file and to apply an update. You do not need admin rights to use an installed AIR help system.

When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so arearticularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.
