Quicktime is distorting audio while playing mp4 file

Question

Since upgrading my android phone from gingerbread to icecream, any mp4 video files recorded on the device no longer play correctly in quicktime (and iphoto, imovie etc). The video plays fine but the audio is distorted. Older mp4 files prior to the upgrade play fine. I have taken a look at the differences between the file infos and found the newer mp4s state 2 audio channels where as the ones playing correctly only state one. That is the only difference. All codecs listed are the same. The files do play correctly in VLC and DivX but I want to be able to use these movies in slideshow presentations using iPhoto. I am using Lion and all software is up to date and I have perian installed. Any suggestions as I have searched the web high and low and no help??

After running wireshark on the host running the adobe AIR application, it seems that it is getting a HTTP 406 response from
the server being run by WMP 12.

The difference that I can see in the HTTP requests between the Windows XP and MAC version is the Accept: Header. Can someone tell
why it is behaving like this?
If i run the adobe AIR application on Win 7 host, i see the same failure.
i will appreciate if someone from Adobe technical team helps with issue asap.
