Quicktime movies with ads at end stall 10 seconds before

Hello,
If this question has been answered in this forum I apologize... I did a number of searches but havent turned anything up.
I play video podcasts everyday from Ze Frank (http://www.zefrank.com/theshow) and at the end of his two to three minute videos, he has an stationary ad (not video) that is pulled in to the podcast dynamically I think, because it can be different every time. Well, 10 seconds before the end of the movie, it stalls and skips every time... to the point where I miss most of the last ten seconds of the movie.
I assume it is because at that time, the movie is loading the JPEG ad, but it is really annoying and I have to rewatch the movie a few times before I get the whole ending.
I dont think it is a software install issue, but it may be. Maybe it is a developer issue, as Apple has been releases new versions of QT7 almost every week. but if anyone is paying attention, I'd like to know what is happening.

Open the file in QT Pro and cut out the JPEG and save it without the offending bit.
Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. It seems the "offending" files are "kiosk" presented with source files hidden behind java scripting and stored in a password protected server area.

  • Quicktime movies with both pics and videos don't upload correctly to YouTub

I have a Quicktime movie with pictures, video clips and music. The quicktime movie plays fine in Quicktime, but only the video parts upload to YouTube. How do I fix this? I have tried converting from mov to flv before uploading and same problem.
I have uploaded Quicktime movies successfully with just pics and music and it has worked.

I'm hopeful this explanation will fix this same problem I've been banging my head on for several days now as I thought I would get fancy and add some graphics from .jpgs but stretch them into video segments by properly adding them to the working video in QTPro on Windows. Both Youtube and Yahoo Video removed my graphics (tracks) so hopefully flattening will solve it however I am concerned about quality.
Before the graphic .jpg adds I was doing the following:
    1. My vids strart off as MP4's from various clips taken from nother device. I load them into QT Pro in segments and then end up saving so they go to the .MOV format.
    2. I upload to Youtube and all is good.
Now with the flattening of .MOV back to MP4's how much quality will I lose? Should I really add the graphics as part of step one and then the one time save to a default .mov cause me one generation less of video quality loss?
    Tks for the help.

  • Creating a QuickTime movie with the new Canon T5i  camera in iMovie 9.0.9.

Help needed creating a QuickTime movie with the new Canon T5i  camera in iMovie 9.0.9.  The project is done and looks good...I need help understanding what settings need to be set so I can make a QuickTime movie in the highest quality that would fit the ratio of 16.9 to be sent out to my YouTube page.  I played around with some of the settings and have not come with the right setting for the video.  I want the highest quality with the lowest amount of megabytes…thanks

I would suggest using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE and choose 1920x1080 (if your source material supports this).
That should work well in YouTube.
If you want to go further with custom QuickTime settings,  here are some that should work, but in my experience, it will be no better than using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE.
follow the instructions below to create a .mov video that will work on YouTube:
In iMovie, select Share > Export Using QuickTime
Next, you may want to check your Options to verify that the following settings are correct:Video settings
    Compression Type: H.264
    Frame Rate: 30 is preferred. 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 are also acceptable.
    Data Rate: Automatic
    Key Frames: Automatic
    Frame Reordering: Unchecked
    Audio/Sound settings
    Format: AAC
Click Show advanced settings and choose Constant Bit Rate as encoding strategy
    Other settings
Size: Choose the original size of the video

  • Quicktime movies with soundtrack

When I save my Keynote presentation with a soundtrack as a Quicktime movie and then use the movie in IDVD the audio doesn't work. Also when you open the movie in Quicktime player and the movie is paused, the music continues to play.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve these problems?
    Thanks,
    Rachel

Its me...answering my own question, after hours of work I have solved the problem....
When I put the QT movie (saved from Keynote) into IDVD it would preview alright but after burning it on to a DVD the audio was no longer there. Naturally, I suspected the separate sountrack.mov file as the cause of this problem.
The only way I could get it to work was pretty convoluted but nevertheless, worked in the end. This is what I did. I completed my presentation in Keynote. I exported it as a QTmovie with no soundtrack at all. I then opened the QTmovie in Quicktime Pro (you have to have QT Pro) and then "added" the audio file and resaved the QT movie. The instructions for adding audio are pretty clear in the "help" section for QT Pro. Then once I brought the movie into IDVD and burned the DVD it worked perfectly!

  • Export QuickTime movie with Compressor running in background

I've rummaged through the forums many times to figure out the absolute fastest way to get an FCP sequence compressed for DVD Studio Pro while maintaining the best quality. I always seem to come up with:
Export QuickTime Movie (not self contained) --> Compressor (DVD best quality settings)
This seems to work fine. I am currently exporting sequences in HDV 1080i60 and they take an extremely long time to export into QT movies. Because of that, I am editing a sequence, waiting for it to export, then dropping it into Compressor. At this point, FCP is available for editing again while Compressor is working, so I repeat the process. However, when I export to QT from FCP while Compressor is still running in the background it seems to take much longer to export.
    Here is my question:
*Am I doing anything wrong by allowing Compressor to work while I am trying to export QT movies from FCP to the same drive?*
Is FCP actually taking longer to export, or is that my imagination? Would it be faster if I only did one at a time, or should it take the same amount of time either way? Am I putting the data on my final movies at risk by doing these things at the same time?
Any help would be appreciated as this is a time sensitive project. I am working in both FCP 5 and 6 on two different computers. 2.5 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB.

Compressor takes a lot of system resources. It will slow the computer down in other tasks.
Because Compressor can run unattended, why not take advantage of that?
Do your regular work that needs you to be there and run the Compressor Batch overnight or at other times when the system is idle.
Compressor's default destination for its processed files is the same directory as the original -writing the files to a different drive might help, at least that way your media drive is not reading and writing at the same time.

  • Problem exporting Quicktime Mov with Premiere / Media Encoder

I have a MOV-file which has been exported from Final Cut. I imported and edited it in Premiere CS 5.5 and then tried to export again to Quicktime Mov. Problem is that the output looks terrible. There is some kind of "Motion bluriness" or fuzziness in the video and looks like there is a maybe "frame rate problem".

  • Can I export Quicktime movies with the same quality/compression as DVD

I would like to export iMovie HD 6 projects as quicktime movies of about the same size, compresson level and quality as I get with iDVD. I would like to watch them on my macbook, but don't want the dvd interface. My attempts have tended to produce something close to full quality that requires too much disk space (10 to 12 G per hour) or tiny, overly compressed videos that only an ipod could love. Does anyone know how to set the custom settings to get this?

if your projects are Standard (=not HiDef), the iPhone preset in the export options work good for my standards..
    or..
Export with Quicktime/Options... h264, original res of your project.. ='small' and good looking..

  • Load Quicktime movie with AS3

I'm trying to use Actionscript 3 to load an external video
file into my Flash project. The file is a .mov file & I can't
really change that to any other format like.flv. I tried the
following code, but I get an error saying it's an unknown format.
    var thisRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("video/" +
    fileName);
    var thisLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    thisLoader.load(thisRequest);
    addChild(thisLoader);

Correct, flash cannot play quicktime "MOV" files.
Flash can play MP4 and M4V/M4A files (which are also
typically considered Quicktime movies) as well as FLV files.
If you need to do this project with Flash, then you may want
to talk to those who do have access to change the video format, to
change it to use at least MP4 files. Also, you do have an FLV
encoder that came with Flash that you can use (not to mention
numerous other encoders for free download that work as well,
arguably better than the default Adobe one) and thus you, yourself
could change the files over for your use (though it would be a
waste of server space to store the files twice)
    Just a thought

  • Exporting Custom Resolution Quicktime Movie with Custom Pixel Aspect Ratio

I want to export some 16x9 sequences (and others) at different resolutions with different pixel aspect ratios.
I have tried exporting as a Quicktime movie, but I get a codec error (with my required H.264 & AAC audio).
I have tried exporting using Quicktime conversion, but there is nowhere to enter a custom pixel aspect ratio (if they added that as an option in “preserve aspect ratio”, that would be nice).
I have tried exporting using Compressor, but it doesn't seem to accept my setting of pixel aspect ratio (HDV 1080i 16:9)—at least when I play back the video it is not using wide pixels.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    G5

I would like to have arbitrary control of the pixel frame size on export as well as arbitrary control of the pixel aspect ratio. However, in this case I specificially want to export some video in a 4:3 pixel arrangement (such as 360x270) but have its display be 16:9 via non-square (i.e. 4:3) pixel aspect ratio.
In that sense, yes, I want to have something play back at 16:9, but at least some of my attempts to export video are squished at 4:3.
While it may be possible to adjust the display in the Quicktime Player, the AVC video syntax as specified by ISO and MPEG standards bodies allow the specification of the pixel aspect ratio (actually sample aspect ratio in the standard) within the bitstream, and when it is there, the latest versions of Quicktime will (from my experience) render the video with the correct aspect ratio.

  • Exporting Keynote to Quicktime movie with audio

I am struggling to get this to work although I have done so previously. I have a fully functioning keynote with an embedded quicktime movie and an audio file. The Keynote works fine.
When I try to export it I just get the audio file!! I am opting for 'manual' even thought the Keynote is a looped production without the need for any manual input.
    Any ideas? thanks

Exporting to Quicktime with sound seems to have been restored ok in Keynote 09 as I have just tested it on the trial download copy. Up until then I have been importing into Garage Band without sound and adding it there which is successful but I think the quality of picture is better with only one step i.e within Keynote itself.

  • Quicktime movie with 3 audio tracks. Can't select audio track!

I have a movie containing 3 audio tracks (3 different languages):
    Format: H.264, 720x304, 16,7 Mio
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
When I play this movie with Apple Quicktime I hear a mix of all 3 languages at the same time. How can I select each audio track separately. With VLC player (freeware) it works fine.
Is the selection of the audio tracks a feature of Quicktime Pro or is this a bug in Quicktime?!

    Hello lildog, hello QuickTimeKirk,
Thank you for your answer. In the meantime I solved this problem. It is caused by the program ”MP4Box” which I used to create the video with the 3 audio tracks. Apple Quicktime and iTunes needs ”very special” header settings inside the mp4 container. A new version of MP4Box with special switches for this case solves the problem. For more details see this thread on the gpac/MP4Box project homepage: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?threadid=2345177&forumid=287547
The VLC Player is much more docile with multiple audio tracks.

  • All I want is a QuickTime Movie with chapter markers :)

    Hi,
This should be simple . . . very simple . . . but I don't think DVD Studio Pro will do it? I have a QuickTime movie - shot with the HVX200, overcranked - stunning video with numerous chapter markers created in Final Cut Pro exported as a self contained movie. I love the way you can click the little window at the lower right side of the QT player, and the chapter markers just drop drown so you can choose which one you 'd like to see.
I'd like to create a DVD of exactly that . . . what looks like a QuickTime player where I just click the little play triangle, and it plays. To see chapter markers, just click the little number (chapter marker) at the bottom of the screen - and voila - the chapter marker dropdown comes down. Is there a way in DVD Studio Pro to simple let the quicktime movie look exactly like . . . the quicktime movie? No menus, no special screens - just the QT player window and movie in it !
Can this be done? Thanks very much for considering.
    Larry
    Thanks

Thank you, Eric. On one hand this is "Solved" because you're confirming what I want doesn't exist - so I can put it to bed! On the other hand . . . you were "helpful" because you didn't SOLVE the problem!
    Welcome to life
Thanks for confirming what I believed, though - it's always nice to have other opinions in a decision.

  • How do you import quicktime.mov with xml subtitles?

Received QT movies that have subtitles using tx3g (embedded xml). How can I get the subtitles into Finalcut Pro? When I import the movies in Final Cut the subtitles are missing. Tried to export the xml from QT, then import the xml into Final Cut - but it asks for the translation document - which I do not understand.

I just converted a wmv file into swf by first opening it in Quicktime (first I had to buy Quicktime Pro to export it to mov and Flip4mac to get it open in the first place, so you're ahead of the game). Then I went into the Adobe Media Encoder that comes with CS4 and converted it into a flv file from there. Then I went into flash and used 'import video', and saved it as a swf file, posted both into my website folder, and saved the skin that it generated into the main website folder where the html file is, it wouldn't show the buttons until I moved it.
    Hope that helps.
