Quicktime Normal size incorrect from P2

When I import 720P P2 footage from my HVX, they are the wrong dimensions. They appear to be 1248 x 702, when they should be 1280 x 720. When I import the same clip using P2 Log software, they quicktime files are correct. Any clues as to what is going on?

THey should be 960x720...and QT will say this, and in parenthesis say 1248,702. It is a square pixel thing...don't worry about it. They should work fine in FCP.

  • Export Quicktime Normal Size Changed

I have looked in the other post but have not found the exact answer to this.
I am using FCP 5.12 to export subclips. The clips were captured with Capture Now and are DV NTSC 48 KHz. The original captured file shows in quicktime info DV 720x480 (640x480) and Normal Size 640x480.
I select the subclip and then File>Export>Quicktime Movie. Then Current Settings, Audio and Video, Markers None, with Make Movie Self-Contained checked.
When opened in quicktime the info shows normal size is 720x480 instead of the original 640x480. the exported video is horizontally larger than the original captured videos in quicktime. shouldn't the clip Normal Size be 640x480 when exported using Current Settings? Is this just a display issue and nothing to worry about? I know there is a square pixel aspect selection in FCP, but all the files are set NTSC - CCIR 601 and only the exported clips show the normal size as 720x480 in quicktime.
By the way, I tried to use Media Manager the way the manual suggests but had many problems with it not working correctly and found work around solutions posted on this board to use Export Quicktime Movie.
    Thanks.

Would you look at that...my captured video DOES say 640x480. Man, you'd think I'd know this stuff.
OK...so exporting now and...Yep...it is 720x480 stretched. Funny, I never noticed this before. And I have black bars on the side of the exported file too. Interesting.
And if I export as a Quicktime Conversion with all the settings to match the original, DV/NTSC, 640x480, BEST compression...I get the proper size, but the gamma shifts and I get a slightly different color.
    Hmmm...this bears experimentation.

  • Cannot view quicktime window normal size and still see controls!

    Help!
I cannot view quicktime window normal size and still see control butttons (pause, play etc.)
I search this forum and found another previous similar question, but the answer. (To use control+0, which would make it half-size.), is not what I need.
What I need is to have a nice fuller size view, (not the narrow little half-size), but any way i find of doing that hides the controls below the bottom of my screen!
I cannot resize it from any side, except the bottom r. corner, which is hidden with these desireable fuller options.

Update: this was my mistake - I had neglected to configure all the view containers in the WebDynproCO window, which was generated by adding the GP interface to the component.  All is well.

  • How can I stretch an avi back to normal size?

I had made an avi file on my Windows computer and I opened it with Quicktime player. Quicktime spent some time converting it, but when the result came out the clip was kind of squashed like this:
I'm trying to figure out how to stretch it back to normal size, but for now I'm stuck with this. I was able to view it at normal size with another application as well, but that application wouldn't let me export the file. Converting the avi to an mov with SmartConverter didn't help either, as Quicktime said that the file had an invalid extension of some sort.

Just bought brand new new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I usually have my hand resting lightly on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. But then it does it again a minute or two later. What gives? Something seems defective--but what?

From System Preferences, Mouse, Point & Click, Secondary click.  Go to it hover over Secondary click and watch the short video sequence change it left right, left right, you will see exactly what is does. No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.

  • Only my email font size has changed....it's gone smaller while everything else including ads is normal size. How do I change it back to 12 pt type?

twice in the past few weeks the font size on my email has changed smaller. The first time it went from 12 pt type to maybe 10 pt type. Last night while I was chatting on Yahoo with our daughter, it went down to maybe 2 pt type. I couldn't find a way to change it back. This morning I opened up the computer to try to work on it again and the font size was maybe 1/2 pt type. The words look like little squiggles on the page. Both my email addresses on Yahoo have reacted the same but the ads to the right of the email on the mail page remain the same size. If I open up another window, and say go to foodtv.com, everything is normal size. I have opened up Safari and gone to my email and everything is normal szie so the problem is the Mozilla. I have also called ATT and gotten help and they couldn't help as it's definitely a Mozilla problem.

  • File Saved Size is Twice Normal Size -  Photoshop CS3 OS 10.6.7

I don't know what happened to make a couple of Photoshop files about double normal size on disk. I've been using Photoshop for a long time so I know how big the files should be - they're multilayered files which are normally about 250MB but are around 500MB+. I don't see anything different in 'Preferences' or 'Mode'. I have always used 'Maximise Compatibility', it's not that.
I've had a couple of strange things - like a few other people I've started getting the alert that says the file has changed since it was last saved. And also I tried a test converting the file from my usual 8-bit to 16-bit and saving - which resulted in a substantially smaller file size.
    Can anyone help?
    David

    Sorry! I've figured it out!
I imported layers from a psd file written by a third party application (Artlantis). It seems to be writing the layers in a massively inefficient manner.
But thanks for your responses, I've learnt something about 16bit.

  • I uploaded pictures to iphoto and they are too small. How do I make them normal size for printing?

The pictures I uploaded from my digital camera are stored in iPhoto and under Photo_data_roll... I am trying to print them, but the quality is very bad because the size of the photos was compressed (or something) when I uploaded them. How do I get the photos to their normal size?

This sounds like it is more likely a problem with your camera.  Digital cameras have setting for resolution and amount of compression used.  I would start by looking there.  If resolution is set low or compression too high, the picture might look okay on a camera's two inch screen but like c**p in iPhoto.

  • File is huge when combined or changed to PDF, how do I get the file to a normal size to print?

Files are to large to print once they are PDF, how do I get them to a normal 8x11 size to print?

So why is it when I send these PDF files to clients they are to large for clients to print?
If I send a combined PDF file that is 3817KB, which a client has said is to large for them to print.
I send it to our office manager, she will print it, scan it back to me as a PDF, it will come
back as 375KB, the client can then print the file.
My question is, was/is there something I need to change in the process of scanning, combining files
to PDF that would create a smaller size file when done?
    Sorry for all the confusion

Sorry, I'm lost.First I thought this was about page size. But you say it isn't. You say it's about file size.  You've combined files of 494 + 441 = 935 KB, and you get 944 KB. This seems fine and you say it is fine. So what is the problem? Are you now on still a third meaning of huge, about size on screen?

  • Adobe Reader print size reduced from page to page

When I try to print a pdf file using Adobe Reader 7.0.9
under Linux Fedora Core 6, I get the print size reduced
from page to page. After several pages, the whole page
text are centered and the words are too small to see.
I can print the pdf files perfectly with Adobe Reader
under windows, and all pdf files have the same problem
    with adobe reader under Linux.
I can look at pdf files using Document Viewer or KPDF
and these print correctly. I can also look at them
with KGhostView, but this prints in the same peculiar
way as Adobe Reader used to print.
If I choose to print a pdf file to a ps file,
this creates a ps file that prints just fine.
I don't have this printing problem until one day
I used a small "Scale: % of Normal Size"
in order to print a large size pdf picture.
I have a lot free space and the computer is networked.
    Thanks for help.

  • How can I get the screen to return to normal size after magnifying?

I've had my phone for a week and just encountered a problem I can't get out of. My nephew inadvertently held the phone with 3 fingers on the screen, now the screen is magnified and I can't get it back to normal. I've tried resetting the phone and the applie Icon came back, then my screen - normal size; but as soon as I touched the screen to put in my passcode the magnification came back on and the screen seems to 1) go in the opposite direction than I'm scrolling, when it moves at all and 2) I can't get it to go back to normal size - help

If you have trouble turning Zoom off from your iPod, connect the iPod to iTunes, click the Summary tab, and click the "Configure Universal Access..." button. Select neither under the "Seeing" section and click "OK".

  • Can you support normal size SIM cards?

    1) Most of us in China use normal sized SIM cards.
    2) Most of mobile phones use normal sized SIM cards.
    3) In emergency, the phone often runs out of battery.
    4) We need to swap SIM cards from this phone to another.
So, support of  normal size SIM cards will be highly appreciated. Even for Lumia 920/820.
BTW: I see a rumor that Lumia 920 in China will provide support for TD-SCDMA, which is REALLY VERY GREAT!

Micro SIM cards are cut smaller than regular SIM cards but the pin outs are identical. I've placed my Micro SIM card in a regular SIM Card phone and it works no problem. It can be a little tricky depending on the phone and how it holds the regular SIM card. You just have to make sure the contacts are in the right spot.
To make it easier, you can always get a Micro-SIM to SIM adapter basically just a little plastic tray to make it easier to put a Micro-SIM card into a regular SIM card slot. Just google Sim Adapter and look for a Micro SIM to SIM adapter.
    Something like this

  • Everything prints small, about 25% of normal size.

Everything prints small, about 25% of normal size. It effects both of my printers. It effects WORD, Adobe Acrobat, and Excel, and anything that I print from the web.
The only document that is NOT effected is Adobe InDesign.
I've tested the usb cables, and restarted my computer. I have not downloaded any new programs or updates.
Anyone had this happen to them? Anyone have any ideas of what happened, and how to fix this problem?
Very frustrated! I have work to do!
    Please help!
    Thank you!
OH...my Apple Mail is also effected.

    Hi.
This forum is for a specific product (Adobe Contribute) which doesn't appear to be your issue. It looks like you are having printing issue rather than issues with any particular product. I would suggest finding support for your printer or your Operating System.
    Good luck.

Double-tap the screen with three fingers, then go to Settings and disable the Zoom function so you don't accidentally trigger it again.

  • Prints as a postage stamp when should be normal size!

The first page prints normal size, then each subsequent page is the size of a postage stamp.  I am using Reader 9.4.1.  Can anyone help me out?
    Jon

Possibly the printer driver is doing a misinterpretation of data it gets from Reader.
Try the option "print as image" under Print > Advanced.
