Quicktime not installed error message upon installation of Itunes

HI,
I have Quicktime already installed (7.7 1680.34) and I have Itunes (10.4.0.80).  Now when I seek to update to the latest Itunes I receive an error message saying 'Quicktime not installed' and then it stops the installation.  Same thing happens after reinstallation of Quicktime.  -What to do now?
//J Sundberg

Try removing QuickTime from Control Panel before installing iTunes 10.4.1.
Check out this Apple document, if you need a walkthrough of uninstalling from Control Panel -> Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Make sure you read the detailed steps, if you run in to a problem.

i upgraded to Lion and now itune upgrade will not install (error message appears)

iPhoto needs to be upgraded in order to work with Mavericks. You can do that via Software Update or the App Store.
The iWork apps are free with a new iOS device since 1 SEP 2013. They are free with a new Mac since 1 OCT 2013. They are also free with the upgrade to OS X Mavericks 10.9 if you had the previous version installed when you upgraded.
Upgrading iPhoto does not involve your iPhoto Library. Your photos will still be there. But it never hurts to make a backup first.

  • QuickTime Version 7.0d0 Error Message Upon Installation

    Hi,
    Once I have downloaded the latest iTunes and installed it, I get an error message upon trying to open it which reads as follows;
QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime Version 7.1.3 or later. Please reinstall iTunes.
At first, I did as the error message said, and reinstalled iTunes. I still got the same error message after I did that. So I then downloaded QuickTime on it's own, but that still didn't work.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    Luke.

I followed the steps in this article and it worked!

  • ITunes will not install, error message.

So, last week my itunes update download the lastest version of itunes. When I went to click on the itunes icon to went to install.
It gave me the error message "the installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file c:\program files\itunes\ituneshelp.resources\es.lproj\ituneshelperlocalized.dll"
Since then I have tried various solutions to similar problems listed here and other sites, including turning off the user control, unpacking the installer and installing the various parts separately, downloading older versions of itunes, removing all other apple components, installing Quicktime and then installing iTunes, etc.
Every time I get through a good part of the process and I get the same error message "the installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file c:\program files\itunes\ituneshelp.resources\es.lproj\ituneshelperlocalized.dll"
I'm about to give up... someone please help!!!

Looking through some other posts I found a solution. Go on the web and download iTunes only, do not automatically install. Then, install the file and when it askes you the destination, change the folder name (I just added a 2). iTunes then installs and all of you songs, playlists, etc. are there.

  • "QuickTime not installed" error

Apple support said the forums or Microsoft support is the best bet to figure out my issue.
I receive an error when attempting to run iTunes 7.3 after installing. The error is "QuickTime not installed, please reinstall iTunes".
    I have done the following:
    - reinstalled iTunes several times (including using the exact steps from here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698)
    - run the Windows installer cleanup (from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301)
    - verified my computer is running 32-bit and not 64-bit windows (here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218). I am running Windows XP Pro 2002 SP 2.
    - used registry cleaners CCleaner and RegCure
    - Attempted to install QuickTime standalone version, which gives me the vague message "The installer encountered errors before the requested operations for QuickTime could be completed". This is where Apple support says the problem is with XP, which I do not doubt, but is still difficult to troubleshoot.
    - deleted iTunes/QuickTime/Apple registry entries in
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE/SOFTWARE
    HKEYCURRENTUSER/Software
    HKEYCLASSESROOT/Applications
    HKEYCLASSESROOT
    - successfully installed QuickTime 6.5.2. Reinstalled iTunes. When running iTunes with this old version of QuickTime, I receive a message saying to reinstall iTunes. After reinstalling iTunes, I receive the same message.
I seem to be stuck in some infinite loops, and stumped Apple. This could very well be a Microsoft problem, and I have my iPhone working with my home laptop, but I don't think the Apple support suggestion of contacting Microsoft will work. I work in tech consulting, so I know that a vague error message to the effect of "encountered errors, try again later" will not be very helpful (to either Apple or Microsoft really - though the apple software is the one that isn't giving me any helpful message, as opposed to a windows error message).
    Any help is much appreciated.

I may have made some progress on this issue.
I have installed an old version of QuickTime (6.5.2) that works successfully. However, when I try to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to uninstall it, QuickTime does not appear in the list.
Any other software I have successfully installed appears on this list (in addition to the Add/Remove Programs list), including the version of iTunes that does not work. So for whatever reason, QuickTime is not registered as installed on my computer, which I beleive is causing the problems.

  • HT4623 Unable to update applications installed.Error message "unable to connet iTunes" appears after installation icon hanging

Since last two weeks I am unable to update my applications installed in iPad with iOS 6. Also no new app is getting installed. Installation icon appears but after some time error message "unable to connect iTunes " appears. Can some one guide me to solve this problem please?

I've had similar problems. Whenever I try and update apps on the iPhone, the app would apparently download ok, but then not install. This didn't happen with new apps - only ones I was updating.
I got around the issue by downloading the update in iTunes on my Mac, then deleting the app from the phone, then syncing. The problem with this method is that certain apps had saved settings which are lost when following this method.
However... I seem to have fixed the issue after 2 months of trying.
I followed the advice of this page:
    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2008/09/10/itunes-8-workaround-for-5002-unknown-error -when-trying-to-update-apps/
Then I repaired disk permissions and finally I completely erased and restored my iPhone BEFORE I synced it after the moving of the Mobile Applications folder.
It's all working perfectly now and made my life much easier (especially with Aurora Feint updates), so I hope that this method works for some others.
    Good luck.

  • Resolve for 1606 Error message upon installation...

I experience this error message upon installing PalmDesktop 6.2 to Windows XP Professional w/ service pack 2.
Post relates to: Treo 680 (AT&T)

    Hello!
These 1606 errors are no fun to deal it and can be very tricky to resolve.  Go to this Microsoft KB article to get you started on this error:

  • Project not installed error message. What does it mean?

Why do we get a project theme not installed error massage when using iDVD?

Probably because the themes are not installed or iDVD has broken the link to the themes' location. Check in the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder to see if the themes are there. If not then check in your ~/HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder.  If they are there then copy them into the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder. Repair disk permissions and reboot.
If that doesn't help you'll have to reinstall iDVD from the disk it came on. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iDVD from the disk it came on originally and apply all necessary updaters.

  • ITunes WILL NOT install-error messages 1714,1603

I have attempted to install Itunes (various builds) and keep receiving the same error messages...1714 (older version of ITunes can not be removed)immediately followed by error 1603.
I have read every message regarding installs and have attempted to install QT on its own and then attempt to install Itunes, (no dice), uninstall and remove all references to ITunes and QuickTime in the registry (still no soap) and also use Windows Installer Remover (AND STILL no results).
    I have a $400 IPod that I cannot use since I can't install Itunes.....any suggestions?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Itunes will not install error message 2

I keep getting some message about something, it then rolls back, carries on, then comes up with error message 2 at the end.
Tried uninstalling and re installing, tried installing apple applications support manually, tried to edit the stuff in the registry which worked....until i plugged my phone in then itunes said my phone wasn't compatible, told me to uninstall and re install, I uninstalled and then it's back to square one, won't install again.
I don't know what else to do because all the solutions offered on here i've tried about 40 times.
Getting really fed up - this should be a simple process, not something that takes 4 hours and still isn't working.
    Sort it out Apple!

  • Lightroom 5.3 will not install, error message saying it cannot find x64.msi

I am not a cloud cc member, just cs6, downloaded lightroom from the lightroom page, it is not listed in my cloud application
I get the following error message. The feature that you are trying to install is on a network resource that is unavailable. Check ok or try an alternative pathway to a folder containing the installation package, Adobe-Lightroom-64.msi.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I get this to when trying to install from CC or standalone, thing is i have cleaned my C:\ drive since all apps tend to install crap there, it is
a 115 gig ssd and i am down to 11 gig free, i removed a lot of stuff including some uninstall info that eats a lot of space.
But where does the installer find the information? i have searched and deleted every mention of lightroom in the registry, god that was a lot,
Still the old version is deleted from the disk with extreme prejudice is there no switch that makes it ignore any old versions and install anyway?

  • 'Wi-Fi: Hardware not installed' error message, as if no modem

I am using a MacBook Air 13" late 2013 with Yosemite. I am not at home but have a valid working wifi network available in a University. Suddenly my internal modem is not recognised. What to do?
'Wi-Fi: Hardware not installed'  is the error message as if it is not found.

In some cases, this issue is caused by a hardware fault. A loose connection, a short circuit, or a microscopic break in a solder joint may open and close depending on temperature, making the failure intermittent.
Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already taken. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. If you can connect to the Internet via Ethernet, Bluetooth, or a USB network device, make sure all available OS X updates are installed. If Wi-Fi is your only means of network access, skip this step.
2.. There are a few reports that the problem was solved by unchecking the box marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
in the Power Adapter tab of the Energy Saver preference pane. I can't confirm.
    3. Reset the NVRAM.
    4. Reset the System Management Controller.
    5. Start up in Recovery mode. In the menu bar of the OS X Utilities screen, there's a Wi-Fi menu. Try to connect. If it works, select Install OS X. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
    6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • "BIOS not installed" error message.God help me!

Greeting all. I was so damn exited about getting this NEO875P-FI2SR board. I am beginning to wonder if the effort will ever be rewarded. Got everything plugged up tonight and fired it up and it says "BIOS not installed". I reset CMOS a couple of times and loaded the default set of parameters in the BIOS setup. Same stuff. I have been searching the forum fo other folks that have had this same issue, but no luck. Has anyone had any experience with this particular error message? Thanks guys.
    Sam

I don't have your motherboard, but I have a question
Is the BIOS NOT INSTALLED message you are getting being showed after it displays FASTRACK.
Also does your computer still start Windows ??????
If so, then the message you see you do not have to worry about, I think it has something to do with RAID and no devices connected to it.

  • QuickTime not found error when trying to run iTunes 64 bit on W7, QuickTime not found error when trying to run iTunes 64 bit on W7

I have quicktime installed on windows 7, 64 bit, and then installed the 64 bit version of iTunes. Install is successful, but when I try ot run iTunes, I get an error - "QuickTime was not found". Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, and while I can 'fix' it with the approach described here, I have to 'fix' it that way EVERY TIME I launch itunes.  I suppose the lousy support for mainstream computers is apple's way of saying, 'well of course you can't use your phone, you're not living in a (TM) apple home (TM) please sell your existing home and purchase one from apple if you want your phone to work.'  I never would have imagined that as a computer programmer it would be a multi-hour/failed installation process to get iTunes and the iPhone4 working properly.  What a joke.
