Quicktime not on Add/Remove

My Quicktime, which is apparently the reason my iTunes update is worthless, does not appear on the add/remove programs menu. Instead, the only place I can find it is in the control panel itself, and even then, it does not have an option to uninstall. How the heck do I get rid of it so I can reinstall it?

If QuickTime is not in the add/remove control panel then the uninstaller was most likely removed from the registry. If the uninstaller was just removed from system32 or where ever it hangs out it might still show up in the add/remove control panel, but not work. You could try going to start>programs>Quicktime>uninstall. If that don't work you will have to delete QT manually.

How do I unstall elements 6 in XP it's not in Add/Remove Programs

I had elents 6 and when I installed 7 it said I didn't have to remove 6, so I didn't, just in case I didn't like 7 or needed 6. Then I forgot about 6 being there and when I installed 8 it said I didn't have to uninstall 7, so I didn't uninstall it either. Now I found 6 and want to uninstall it but it is not in Add/Remove Programs, I searched the KB and it said when it couldn't be uninstalled with Add/remove you could do it manually. then the directions for manual uninstall says Open Control Panel, go to Add/Remove programs, and uninstall Elements 6. So it says essentially "if you can't do "This", then "Do This".
After listening to music for about 40 minutes on the telephone, the Tech Support guy said I would have to pay him $40, or go to the KB . I told him that the information in the KB was wrong when you searched "Uninstall Elements 6" and he said the only thing I could do was pay him $40, non refundable, and that if something went wrong with one of the other Adobe programs I would have to pay them to fix that!
ANY SUGGESTIONS. . . PLEASE, otherwise I'll just leave 2,000+ files that take up half a gig, and hope it doesn't give me other problems in the future. I was considering just deleting the Elements 6 folder and then use system mechanic to fix the registry. or IF I can find the original CD, can I use it to uninstall it, or could I reinstall it, without it screwing up my 7 and 8, and see if it shows up in "Add/Remove Programs"?

Find the original CD and launch the Setup. If it doesn't give you the option of removing the current installation, install PSE 6 again and then uninstall it from the Control Panel.
If that doesn't work, then you can follow the instructions in the tech note that you were reading:

Just skip the first section, "Run the Photoshop Elements 6 Uninstaller". The remaining sections will lead you through a manual removal. (I agree that the instructions are confusing.)
But it's better to do reinstall and then uninstall if you can.

How to Uninstall iTunes when not in Add/Remove

How do you uninstall iTunes when it does not appear in Add/Remove programs. For the record, I have used the Window Install Clean-up Utility as described in another thread. Although iTunes appeared in the utilities' list, and seemed to process my request to uninstall (it disappeared from the list), all iTunes program files still remain on my computer, and the icon still appears on my desktop.

Nice going Lenovo with NOT listing McAfee with the add/remove programs. How do I remove it. I can't use the McAfee tool until I uninstall the conventional way via add/remove programs.

How to remove old NI Imaq if it is not in add remove programs

I am upgrading from 6i to 8.o fo rlabview and vision development module.
I need to remove my old IMQ before the new one will install. It is not listed in my add/remove programs. How do I remove it?

IMAQ 2.5.1 was a subcomponent of the LabVIEW installation and will reinstalling LabVIEW to remove the component.
Uninstall LabVIEW 6.x using Add/Remove Programs. This will remove the previous version of IMAQ.
Install LabVIEW 6.x (or if possible, just install LabVIEW 8.0). You will need to customize the 6.x installation so that IMAQ 2.5.x is not installed.
Proceed with your upgrade.

Uninstall missing for adobe 9...not on add/remove programs

I have 2 adobe readers now. The desktop has adobe 9 and adobe x (inside says 10.1.1). Downloaded newest a while ago. I think I thought it would automatically uninstall 9, but I may have uninstalled it but is still there, because there isnot a line in add/remove list. There is a line for the reader x (10.1.1)

Is it really still installed, or is it just a non-functioning desktop shortcut?
If it is still installed (without an uninstaller), then you can use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove the application.

F4140 not working. cant remove, software says it's not installed but then wont re-install

The printer isn't working so I want to remove and re-install BUT the printer is not in Add/Remove Programs (I have XP). I downloaded the complete install package and tried to uninstall it that way, but the unistall program says nothing is installed. So I tried to install it but it says the software is already installed and doesn't install anything. I am really stuck this time. I wish HP had a "cleaner" utility because obviously the registry or something is out of synch. Please HELP!

Hey there,
Here is how you can uninstall using the scrubber that is built into the software. I included both options on how to access the scrubber. Just choose whatever option is easiest for you.
Option 1: From Original installation CD:
1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

There are two part when installing WebEnt.. The first one is the web server part where it installs the fortecgi.exe or other web server components. This should be installed where the web server is going to be running. This is usually not you development server. The second part is the http library and web designer part. This should be installed on the development server. The http library need to go through a install of its own to make it part of the central environment. After that all the developers will have access to the http library and all they will need to do is install the Web desinger part.

If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search. Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter. You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type. Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar. I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing. Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth. For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight. Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

I have Firefox 4.0 Beta 6 on my system and Beta 9 was installed, now both are oon desktop neither show on Start menu and Add/Remove list only shows Beta 6 but will not remove it.

Had a problem yesterday and Google chrome replaced Firefox as my default browser without my knowledge. I removed Chrome from my system and can use Firefox. I have two icons for Firefox on my quick launch toolbar one says Beta6 the other Beta9 but both launch Beta 9 but my Add/Remove programs shows only Beta6 and will not remove it. It seems Beta9 is the only version on my system but was not updated in my Start menu.

If you updated from the beta 6 version to the beta 9 version then the beta 9 version has replaced the previous beta version. It can happen that the uninstall registry key of older versions isn't updated or removed and that seems to have happened in your case. So you have only the beta 9 version installed and an orphaned entry to uninstall the beta 6 version.
If you are comfortable in editing the registry then you can remove that entry.Otherwise it is better to leave it.<br />

Firefox crashed 2 days ago and will now not open, and won't uninstall via Control panel add/remove programs; the files are still there on Windows Explorer. IE8 still works.

AFter letting it expire, I re-installed ParetoLogic PC health advisor (I think in August too)and allowed it to try updating some graphics drivers following a scan - this was unsuccessful so I marked them to ignore (something about my graphics card not supporting the drivers downoladed). I can see the mozilla files on WIndow Explorer but if I click 'remove' (control panel, add/remove programs) I get a very short 'hourglass' then nothing; if I click Firefox icon I get the same. Help!

When i click on the webcam, it says device is not found. it is in my add/remove section.

My webcam was showing a black screen when I would try to use it (it's integrated). So I checked out some forums and ended up disabling it and now it has disappeard. I have the icon, but it says that there is no device. It shows up in my add/remove. I have uninstalled and installed multiple times. I have tried to repair it. I think I am missing an image driver. Nothing installs successfully.

Very strange, it is more secure to be a driver problem, try to find the latest version but not from the HP website but for the hardware ID from the manufacturer's website. Also check the power options, the system may "turn off" the webcam to save energy.
