Quicktime on Win7 64bits Ultimate
I installed the latest Quicktime but it would not work. When I click on it I get the error message: "Please Install Apple Application Support" I have no idea what it is.
If I try to download some music from a website I get a message that Quicktime is not found. I re-installed it twice, still not working.
Any ideas?
ProRes decoding--that is, playback--is supported and available on Windows (all platforms). However, encoding to ProRes is not possible; this is not an Adobe limitation, but rather, an Apple limitation, as there is no ProRes encoder included or available for Windows. Any ProRes file that I've tried--SD or HD--has been usable in Premiere on Windows. I haven't tried the 4444 variety, but if the decoder is available, it'll playback. ProRes 422 HQ should be no problem, though.

[win7 64bit ultimate]: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus prints won't scan
Guys I have spent 2 days on reading and trying all of the suggestions in previous posts. My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus JUST won't scan. When I click to scan a Document or Photo the HP Scan pops up saying: The HP Officejet Pro 8600 was not found.
When I do unistall the HP basic software and then install again it works fine. However when pc restarts problem is still there.
I have completely uninstalled my avast Antivirus and also configured the windows firewall. No luck till now.
Tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor: It appears that the problem is in the device manager. Edited: Just looked at the device manager and spotted this >
If I reinstall it will work only till my next restart.

I read about how you cannot scan and have been troubleshooting quite a bit lately, to no avail.
I have some questions and some ideas for you. If you've tried the steps, just let me know the results. Here are my ideas for you.
Have you uninstalled the printer by right clicking on them in the Device Manager, as shown in your screen shot, then restarted your PC and reinstalled?
Have you tried creating another User Account with Admin privileges and tried installing?
Try a clean boot, and restart the PC and ensure your Firewalls and Anti-Virus scanners are disabled and try running the installation.
Will the printer install successfully on another PC?
Remove the printer by using the Microsoft Fix it tool, restart the PC and try installing again.
Try unregistering and re-registering the Microsoft Windows Installer service:
1. Click the Start menu and type " cmd " in the search field and press enter.
2. Type in " msiexec /unregister " and then press enter.
3. Type in " msiexec /regserver " and then press enter.
4. Restart your PC and try the installation.
Run the SFC scan to repair any corupt files. (Run the scan 3 times if there is an issue in the results) then try installing the printer again.

I am using Quicktime pro 7 the latest, on a win7 64bit PC machine.
Adobe Premiere and Encoder cant see it; has anyone had troubles and

thanks for your reply, look I was loading the latest Quicktime and paid for the latest version of Quicktime Pro for windows as well as updating Itunes. After restarting my PC, the apple codecs would not show in the codecs list when i was preparing the output specs which are for the Australian broadcast which my boss wants of:
1280 X 720, 25fps and Apple codecs prores 422.
Look I was wondering is there any area of Quicktime Player Pro that I have to turn on or off, I just wonder if I have to do something in Premier Pro or the other adobe program encore to convert certain levels of film from one level to another, as the camera crew I was with had 5 different levels of film to convert to the above format.
Do you have any other ideas that come to mind, I have had some troubles in the last six months with Indesign and Adobe pdf maker, I have alot of sucess with adobe before. I gratefull for any other hints. Cheers Hound Puppy -
IQ770 upgrade to Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Edition
Hello Everyone,
I know this is not supported - but I have always been disappointed w/ some of the flaws in the factory installation that came w/ this machine. I experienced screen flickers and network issues w/ my Media Center Extenders which were connected to my IQ770 since I had this machine.
Finally this weekend I decided to wipe out the factory OS and install Win7 Ultimate 64bit - and all devices were recognized in Device Manager along w/ no more flickers or network issues!!! Not to mention that I gain access to all 4GB of RAM, which I upgraded several months ago. So - I'm pretty sure I will be sticking w/ this installation of Win7 64bit, regardless of what I find out here in the forums.
My question(s):
Anyone know of a version of the TouchSmart application that I can download and install on Win7 x64? I have attempted to download a version for another TouchSmart PC but it will not install on this OS.
Anyone else done this - and have you found alternative drivers which work better, over the Windows drivers that came OOB or via Windows Updates?

As for TouchSmart applications you would need to find 3rd party ones. This model only supports single touch. -
i guess i said all in the topic:
had an automatic update to safari 5.1, since than it doesn't work anymore, can't open any website.
i'm using win7 64bit as OS.
does someone know how to get safari 5.1 to work at win7/64bit
or how can i downgrade to safari 5.0 again (if i try to download it somewhere, it always switches automatically to safari 5.1)

When printing photos at my hp 1514n the colors are odd + not suitable. using win7 64bit +lat. driver
Hi, I' using a hp 1514n for printing photos. It's attached to my Win7 64bit computer. But the colors are not suitable. Printing is in high quality but the coloras are wrong (i.e. instead of a bule sky I get it turquois).
all patches installaed and also the lastest drivers. What else can I do?
The files are ok, because I get the right colors when printign the files at another hp color laser jet with win7 (32 bit)
Where can I get a suitable icc file?I'd use the GutenPrint drivers. They're usually better than the drivers that HP ships, anyway, and the latest version of GutenPrint will work with Leopard while the HP drivers for a printer that old will not. The drivers at <http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs> also explicitly support the DJ960C. Those drivers are usually written by HP employees, are often superior to the drivers HP uses, and, like the GutenPrint drivers, are free.

Itunes 10.5.1 Completly not working in Win7 (64bit)
This has been a total disaster update for me. I am running Win7 (64bit) with all my windows updates current. I went ahead and updated Itunes to 10.5.1.
That was a severe mistake. Itunes crashes every time I start the program. I notice that genius is running right at the start up and I manage to shut it off but it still crashes.
So far I have done the following:
Started Itunes in safe mode----Crashes
Done a complete clean install and reinstall---Crashes
Downgraded to 10.5 clean install---Crashes
Upgraded back up to 10.5.1 started back in safe mode--Crashes.
I have stopped my anti-virus during all installs and starts and it still crashes.
My system is clean of viruses.
No error messages are provided for all the crashes other than "This program has stopped working"
My frustration is awful. I really hope they get this fixed or someone can offer a solution. I am so sorry I ran that upgrade.After a day 1/2 of frustration and tears I got Itunes 10.5.1 working properly on my Win 7 64bit Home Edition.
I concluded that the profile, lets call it blue99 was in some way corrupted. The reason is that I followed the troubleshooting steps outlined here:

Under the heading of Create a New User Account
I went ahead and created a new profile, lets call it B99. Under this new profile, I started up Itunes and sure enough it fired right up, Itunes store came up etc with no crashes. The strange part is that when it started up, the Itunes user agreement came up. In the other profile where Itunes would crash, after I would re-install, I NEVER GOT THE USER AGREEMENT. It would just go through an install, and when it would restart, it would immediately start to crash.
So now I concluded in agreement with the suport article that it was a "user-specific problem"
With this info, I took a gamble. I did not follow the "User specific Troubleshooting" offered in the article.
Instead I followed the directions found here:

I followed these very carefully. I copied all of my files found under C:\users\Old_Username folder, in this case that would have been the profile blue99. From there I copied the folders in there to the C:\users\New_Username folder in this case B99. The most important rule of thumb is MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FULL ADMINSTRATIVE PERMISSIONS BEFORE YOU START.
I then right clicked on the B99 folder and went to Properties and under the Security tab I gave the profile B99 full permissions. After this I went back to Control Panel and under User accounts I went and turned the B99 profile into full administrator and took the corrupted profile blue99 and switched it too Standard adminstration.
I restarted my computer and logged in under B99, started up Itunes and Yay!! Itunes is up and running. No crashes so far!! When I was running Itunes on the old profile I went ahead and turned off Genius and Home sharing. In this new profile I turned on Genius and it worked with no crashes. But I don't want to push my luck so I turned it off. Itunes has been running with no crashes. This is what worked for me, yeah its convuluted but I was desperate!! I don't even consider this a patch, so much as I cheated to get Itunes running.
If someone has a simpler way to get Itunes 10.5.01 to run, please let me know!!
Please note when I started this I had already reinstalled Itunes on the corrupted profile. I did not install Itunes again on the new profile. I just started it up. -
When installing iTunes 10.5 64bit on my win7 64bit computer I get a weird error message.
This all started when one day I plugged in my iPhone 4 to my iTunes 10.4 on my PC (win7 64bit) and I got nothing. I got the connection noise and my phone started charging but it would not show up in iTunes. In My Computer, it sees that I have an iPhone plugged in but shows it as a Camera, not a phone, and I am not able to see anything inside said "camera". At this point I decided to clear everything "Apple" off of my computer and manually install iTunes 10.5. Mid download i came across this error message that I have no clue what it is telling me. After clicking "OK" it then tells me "rolling back session" and then tells me that "Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." Since getting this messag I suspected that it was an AMD (apple mobile device) issue. AMD seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to uninstall/delete from my computer... At this point I'm giving up and looking for advice/help on this issue.
Im lead to believe that it is an AMD issue because iTunes 10.4 reads my iPod Shuffle perfectly but wont read my iPhone 4 or a friends iPhone 3g.

Since I installed iTunes 10.5 I can't play any of my music videos downloaded from the iTunes store.
I can play music ok but no videos. I just click on the videos and nothing happens!!

Connecting to HP LaserJet 5100 printer on Win7, 32bit PC from a Win7, 64bit PC
I'm having a heck a time trying to add a printer that is on another machine. The printer is an HP LaserJet5100 and is connected to a Win7, 32bit pc using a pcl6 driver. The PC I want to add this other printer to is a Win7, 64bit. I went to HP Drivers and downloaded a HP LaserJet 5100 pcl6 driver for Win7, 64bit, and ran it, using traditional mode, on the PC that I'm trying to install a printer to. I chose "Add a network Printer..." and then pick the printer that I want to connect to. I get a Windows Printer Installation pop up that says "Checking for Windows Update. This might take a while..." and then get another popup that says "No driver found". I then get another pop up to locate the driver. Browsing to the driver files that I just download, I find eleven files of the .inf file type, but none of them are the right file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Or will it have to be a clean install from a Win7 32bit DVD.
Many thanks.I presume this notebook is offered with 64bit version only (specification) and there is only one way to install 32 bit OS version you must install it using original Microsoft Win7 32 bit installation disc.
Please note: for OS activation you cannot use product key from the sticker. You must buy new licence for your own installation.
By the way: check also if this notebook model is supported for 32 bit version. You can do this on Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Save for web crashes - Win7 64bit, Photoshop CC 14
Intermittently save for web and other function (usually related to saving) crash. I'm running a brand new Win7 64bit box with latest version of CC - Photoshop CC 14. It's crash list thing since I first got Photoshop - so it's not something new, it's been doing this since I have installed the software. CS4, Win7 64bit Media Encoder Errors
On a fresh install of Win7 64bit, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard 12GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 260 graphic card and all updates (software/hardware), I'm having a bear of a time exporting even a bars/tone test project from CS4. Here is the sequence of events:
1)Create/edit project, export media, I get warning message that an update of Media Encoder is available (but I've already double checked that I'm running CS4 4.2.1 with multiple computer restarts). AME version I have is 4.2.0.006
2) choose export format, location, etc. (I've tried various export formats with no difference in resulting error messages)
3) dynamic link exports the file to AME...BUT....AME doesn't open
4)When I've manually opened AME beforehand, CS4 will export to the queue
5)On attempt to encode I get the message:

6) I've looked in the folder and indeed, the source file doesn't exist...but it keeps creating this same message, regardless of what project I try to work on.
I've done a re-install (with cleaner script) TWICE already and it is really a time-killer (especially when I defrag the drive in between installs). I beseech Harm and all the other gurus to offer some sage wisdom. Thank you.I'm the only user on the computer, and I do have full rights to the C: volume. By default, I should be the administrator, is that correct? Thanks again for your offer to help and your invaluable assistance to all Adobe users. With your help (and the upcoming Mercury engine), I hope to have a Matrox-free system eventually. I still have to use my XP-32 matrox and CS3 system until I can work out the kinks that keep me from exporting completed projects on my newly build Win7 CS4 system.
Let me know if anything stands out to you that I'm missing. I'm a bit frazzled currently.

Application on Win7 64bit throws error -50103, but not on Win XP 32bit host
LabVIEW application newly installed on Win7 64bit host throws error -50103.
Same aplication deployed from same installation disk on Win XP 32bit host have been working for 2 years withourt problem.
I did have a problem with importing the MAX configuration from the Win XP 32bit machine to the Win 7 64bit machine.
My solution was to install all the drivers from my most recent Devaloper Suite 2012 DVD.
After that the executable did run fine, except when the variuos DAq tasks are executed for the second time in a loop it thows error -50103.
If i click ok on the erro popup, everything else works fine until in the next pass of the loop I get the same error.
Why would I get error on one host but not on the other one?
How do I fix this?
