  • "Page is Out of Date"; "Error 5002" on Every App Update

I can't update Apps in iTunes without getting two dialogs whenever I try to download updates:
    - A "this page is out of date" dialog
    - An error "5002" dialog
After dismissing these and restarting the making a second attempt, I get my apps. This has been happening for a few months. Everything is up to date.
This seems to be a version of a common problem, but, FWIW, it's the one I've got.

    Nothing worked for me.
So I searched and found a simple answer on Twitter that fixed all my Error 5002 and other iTunes Store access errors :
iTunes tips for error 5002. Select Safari->Preferences->Security->Show Cookies, and delete entries for *.apple.com.
(i.e. open Safari and follow the above instructions). Problem solved for me!

  • Quicktime out of date message that won't go away

This message appears every time I open iTunes:
"Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version."
Problem is, updating does not make this go away, and updates of iTunes are actually stalled at the QuickTime step, which is a pain in the ***. I've done the following:
    1. Reinstalled iTunes
    2. Used windows Add/Remove to uninstall QuickTime and then reinstalled just QuickTime
    3. Gotten the latest Windows installer (installer 3.1 for Windows XP)

  • Quicktime -5402 Bad Data Error

    Good morning everyone,
I was going along fine watching some videos on the internet with my quicktime viewer when all of a sudden when I tried to load a presentation I get a -5402 "Bad Data" error. The video starts and plays about 11 seconds before stopping and will not continue. I tried it in Firefox and Internet Explore and with different videos. The version of the plugin is 7.0.3
    Thank you!

I did change the datasource structure and emptied the Delta queue before scheduling the setup.
But there was a time gap between the start of setup and emptying of Delta queue.
Data got in the extraction Queue (before setup started) when User did some documents changes in R3 prod. after the empting of Delta Queue (RSA7) and transferring transports to R3 prod.
Hence, what needs to be done to the Extraction or how to empty the Extraction queue till the setup is complete if we are not freezing the user posting?
Is there any other way to avoid the user postings until the transports are gone to the prod box ?

  • Out of Date

I continue getting "out of date" errors reardless of installing newest version.  I found this could be fixed by removing old quicktime files from the system32 folder (windows 7 home premium, sigh) but i dont know WHAT those files could be.
I get the message when opening Itunes, and then shotly after, iTunes crashes. (newest iTunes version)
I have been living with the problem a while now, but cant get iTunes to not crash long enough to get a new iPod working.

I continue getting "out of date" errors reardless of installing newest version.  I found this could be fixed by removing old quicktime files from the system32 folder (windows 7 home premium, sigh) but i dont know WHAT those files could be.
Let's see what you've got in there at the moment.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • [solved] Pepper flash out of date?

Just reinstalled the system (64bit), downloaded the latest chrome and extracted pepper flash to chromium. It always worked flawlessly but this time it's saying that the plugin is outdated and can't be used. This is just an annoyance since we can set whatever version we want in /etc/chromium/default but I was just wondering why it is happening and if others have experienced such behavior.

I've done exactly what the AUR package does, but manually.
    - download latest 64bit chrome from google website
    - extract pepper flash
    - copy files to proper directory
    - modify /etc/chromium/default
in fact AUR package gives me the same out of date error
Edit: my workaround is to add some units to the --ppapi-flash-version paramenter in the /etc/chromium/default

  • Error message "some of your quicktime software is out of date...."

After about 8 hrs of troubleshooting so far I need help here...please...I have a new ipod touch 3g (32gb) that requires itunes-9 and i have itunes-8. when i try to load itunes-9 i get the same error message about apx. half way thru the install. at the point of install status "initializing quicktime types" the error message comes up: "some of your quicktime software is out of date, You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version" with the choice to "cancell" or "do it now" and I have tried "do it now" many times and other times tried cancell but either way it just ends up coming back many times with the same error message and either freezes the computer or eventually after maybe 15-20 error messages stops but the unstall is frozen. I have already tried uninstalling quicktime, itues, etc and spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Apple support and they can't figure it out. Please help...I appreciate your support.

Some other application may have installed older QuickTime componentry on the PC.
First let's have a closer look in your \system32\ to see if we can find any misplaced componentry down there.
First, in My Computer go "Tools > Folder Options". Click the "View" tab. Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and that "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked. OK out of the Tab.
Now navigate to C:\Windows\system32\. (It might be easiest to switch to "List" view at this point.)
What files or folders can you see in \system32\ with QuickTime in the title?
(On a PC with a standard QuickTime installation, you should see precisely two files:
    QuickTime.qts
    QuickTimeVR.qtx
... and no Quicktime folders whatsoever.)

  • Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem...

I keep getting this error every time I start itunes or anything that uses QuickTime:
Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version.
    'Cancel' 'Do It Now'
If I click 'Cancel', the program seems to run fine. If I click "Do It Now', I get the following:
Information received from the QuickTime server is in valid. Please try again later.
I have tried everything and have had this problem since December of '06. Anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

  • Out of Date Quicktime Software

Whenever Quicktime loads (via iTunes, one of my son's computer games, etc.) I get an error window that reads:
"Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version." I can click "cancel" or "Do It Now", but every time I click on "Do It Now" I get the following error "Information Received from the QuickTime server is invalid. Please try again later."
Once I got it to get me to an install screen and it ran fine, but then I had this problem again. I've removed Quicktime, installed the latest version, and when I run Quicktime and ask it to look for updates, it says I'm up to date.
    Any thoughts?

Did you ever figure this out? It is driving me insane.....

  • "Some of your quicktime software is out of date" Message

    Hi,
I have a problem with quicktime for which I would like advice. The symptom is that each time quicktime is loaded or accessed, there is a pop-up message box which says,"Some of your quicktime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version." There's a cancel button, which I use nearly every time, and a "Do It Now" button. Note that I am running the latest version of quicktime.
When I use the "Do It Now" button, I get an error message pop-up which says,"Information obtained from the Quicktime server is invalid. Please try again later." I don't use quicktime stand alone for anything, so I don't really know if it's working OK. It seems to be, but I've not done a thorough testing. The dominant symptom is in iTunes, where I experience lock-ups. I spoke with an Apple technical support person for a while about it, and we (re)did the compulsory uninstall, reinstall stuff to no avail.
The Apple guy pointed me to an Apple website detailing some methods to fix various problems with iTunes/quicktime. (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976) I have tried everything there. One of the things was an experiment to try to detect interactions with other programs. Using MSCONFIG, I did a custom start-up which enabled nothing but quicktime. No change. I have removed (ctrl-panel->add/remove programs...) many of the programs which were installed. No change.
    Questions/Comments?
    Thanks for any info,
    jimmBob

I just got off the phone with an Apple technician, and we solved the error problem. Basically we just went through my whole computer searching for all quicktime and iTunes files that were left behind. Be sure to check your C: > Windows > System32 folder for ANY and ALL QuickTime files. The files we found that caused the error were hidden in a filed titled "quicktime" in the System32 folder. Make sure you delete it, uninstall all iTunes and QuickTime programs (including Apple Software Update and Apple Mobile Device Support) from the Control Panel, and reinstall the latest files for iTunes and QuickTime and the error should go away.
    Hope this helps!

  • QuickTime Files Out of Date

Any time I start itunes, use the Apple site or try to use QuickTime, I get a pop up stating "Some of your Quick Time software is out of date. You can fix this by updating to the latest version (then choices of: 'Cancel', 'Do it now')". If I select 'Do it now', I get a second pop up which says "Information received from the Quick Time Server is Invalid. Please try again later."
Itunes seems to work if I select "Cancel". The Apple site keeps giving me the same popups.
I have uninstalled, and reinstalled Itunes/Quicktime with no impact. I've uninstalled the Apple Updater. I've tried the "DO it now" both behind a firewall and on an 'open' home DSL line with the same next pop up.
    Thanks for your help.

Not of any help, but misery loves company. I am having the same problem with Windows XP that had some older versions of quicktime on it. I have attempted to all traces of the old software, but whenever I download and attempt to use the current Quicktime download I get an error code like yours where I am instructed that "Some of your quicktime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version" The box in which the error message appears seems to be of the style seen with older windows programs like Win 98. Anyway, as long as the new Quicktime is installed but not working properly then I can not access the apple store. Also everytime the error code appears windows pops up with its own message stating that Quicktime has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I too found no boxes checked when I looked under compatability as suggested by one poster. I tool have found no viruses.
I have not tried the safe mode installation suggested by one poster.
Do you have any older games installed that used older versions of Quicktime?

  • "Some of your Quicktime software is out of date" popup

I must have had an earlier version of quicktime installed on my computer, but I have updated to 7.2, all the patches etc.. And I get this error. I have gone as far as uninstalling all Apple components, deleting all refrences to Quiktime in the regtistry and reinstalling. The same messgae comes up in two seperate popups. The annoyance level in unbeliveable. Any assistance getting rid of these would be appreciated. I saw the question posted on the forum for an earlier release of QT and the fix was to patch it. I have even upgraded to PRO in an effort to get more support for this issue. Any assistance would be great.

I also am plagued with this problem. In case it helps anyone to diagnose this issue, here is how it started on my computer. It showed up immediately after installing Kid Pix Deluxe 3. During the install, the Kid Pix software said that I needed to install Quicktime to run the program. Since I already had the latest iTunes/Quicktime softare (v7.4), I chose not to install it (the Kid Pix CD had Quicktime 5). When I restarted my computer, it immediately brought up the "Some of your Quicktime software is out of date..." dialog box. Ever since, programs that access Quicktime in some way cause the "...out of date..." dialog to appear. As of yet I have not seen any solution that works; the recommendations to uncheck Flash files in the MIME settings and to uncheck automatic updates did not work for me. Uninstalling Kid Pix and repairing my Quicktime and iTunes installation do not fix the problem either. I have not tried completely uninstalling and then reinstalling Quicktime and iTunes.

  • Quicktime software is out of date - NOT!

I saw this question answered for XP, but I have Windows Vista.
For years now, when I open itunes, quicktime or even the apple website, I get the following... 'Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version'. The choices given are Cancel or Do It Now. If I select Cancel, it closes and things usually function normally, or it may ask me again several times (asked me four times on the way to this forum). If I select Do It Now, it says Information received from the QuickTime server is invalid. Try later. This course of action usually freezes things up.
There must be part of an old Quicktime version lurking that I need to seek out and destroy. Apple support recently (Nov 29, 2010) assisted with an uninstall and reinstall of the latest version of itunes and quicktime for another issue I was having. itunes wouldn't open. I had hoped that would fix this too, but it didn't.
How do I seek out and destroy the offending files? Thanks

There must be part of an old Quicktime version lurking that I need to seek out and destroy.
Indeed. Let's go checking in the most likely location.
    1. Open My Computer from the desktop or Start menu.
    2. In the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
    5. Click OK.
Now in My Computer, open your C drive.
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "system32" folder.
What files and/or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file/folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)
