Quicktime player on macbook air not working!!!!!!! HELP!!

I have a macbook air and i can watch trailers on the apple website fine, but if i try to watch a keynote or something on the apple website, the quicktime player says its loading but never does and it makes my internet connection disappear for a couple minutes. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Macbook air not working unless plugged in?

I have a mid 2011 macbook air and it has had an issue of not working unless it was plugged in but mainly only working for a short about of time and then turning off suddenly and not turning back on unless pluged in or decreasing in power extremely and abnormally quickly. It happend a few times last year and twice i took it to a specialist specified by apple and twice i took it home with them having done nothing to it. They stated that there was nothing that the diognostics could see that was wrong with it. Eventually it fixed the problem itself and worked fine. just as long as i never ran it flat it worked fine. untill the other month i did that and now it will not work at all without being pluged into a power source. it has been plugged in all day whilst i have been using it and has not reach 100 per cent of power, it will not pass 98%. If the power cord accidentally falls out it turns of straight away, doesnt shut down just abruptly powers off. Never before has it been this bad. I have noticed it has also in this time it hasnt been working again its also been running noticably slower than usual. But that may just be me being parnoid. Im sick of taking it to get fixed only for them to tell me there is nothing wrong, because evidently there is. What options do i have? i just seriously need it fixed.

Your charger might be bad. If you have access to another charger, then try that one. If you dont have access, either find someone who does, or go to the Apple Store and purchase a new one. If the computer is still under warranty, take the computer AND the adapter and have them looked at.

QuickTime Fast Start Progressive Download not Working - Help!

I can't figure this out - I have a large number of training movies created by a contractor. After uploading them to my website, I thought QT would start once a certain amount of data was downloaded. So, being new to QT, I thought that the videos should be exported with the "Prepare for Internet Streaming." checked with either "Fast Start" or "Fast Start & Compressed Header" selected. Well, I tried both and no luck. File sizes are between 8 MB and 40 MB. I discovered another site that has a 80 MB file that starts no problem, so obviously I am missing something! Any suggestions?

You should look at the part of my PDF that discusses QuickTime Media Links. These are text based files that will download with a click on the link and then can control the QuickTime Player application.
Your Web page layout could remain the same with these .qtl links and your QuickTime files could enter "Presentation" mode (full screen, if you like). They will launch the QuickTime Player app as the tiny .qtl file has downloaded or the .qtl download is double clicked.

Migration from PC Vista to Macbook Air not working

When I try to migrate following the instructions I've read and using the Ethernet adapter I bought yesterday, I get into a vicious password request cycle on my Macbook. It doesn't seem to like either my account password or my MacBook password and asks me to reset my password. I did the reset, but it didn't like that either. Fortunately, my original pw still works. Are there some simple migrations for Dummies instructions somewhere that don't require me to know all the Apple vocabulary?

Quicktime Player 7.4.1 Not Working

Ever since I installed QT v7.4.1 I have been unable to view Quicktime videos. This is true for both my G5 and my MacBook. I recently installed Mac OSX 10.5.2 hoping that it would resolve the issue but it has not.
To troubleshoot, I have tried to minimize the range of possibilities. Thus I started Safari (3.0.4), went to the Apple Downloads site, and selected the first movie trailer shown (The Happening). The splash screen appeared and I elected to download the SMALL version. The screen refreshed and the progress bar in the URL area of the window shot up to about 80% in less than two seconds. It stayed there for the next 8 minutes with no progress and finally shot up to 100% at which time the Quicktime "Q" appeared in the window. The video itself never played and clicking on the "Q" did nothing.
What's up?

It is a QuickTime issue and Apple does need to fix it.

I am experiencing a lot of mp4's that used to work in quicktime that no longer do since the recent update. These were videos converted in iSquint. If you change the file extension from mp4 to 3gp, they will work. I have yet to test them in Apple TV (was experiencing the same problems there), but seeing how Apple TV runs through quicktime, I think that it will fix there too, assuming Apple TV can play 3gp files.

IOS 6, HDCP, AirPlay via iPad or iPhone or MacBook Air = not working

I upgraded to iOS6 and Mountain Lion 10.8.2 this week. Now I'm having all kinds of problems with streaming content from my devices via my ATV2.
I keep getting an error that the content or device is not HDCP compliant (or words to that effect) so I cannot stream content. I found one solution that says to change your iTunes Store setting for Resolution to "standard" instead of 720p on the ATV. I tried that and it half works. The problem is I have to leave the TV turned on or else the stream stops.
I used to be able to stream to the ATV (which is connected to my home theatre system) so I could listen to music and such without turning on the TV. None of this compliance stuff ever came up.
I also you can try swapping the HDMI cable from how it's plugged in now to the opposite (i.e., switch the plug going into the TV to be the one going into the ATV, and the one going into the ATV to be the one going into the TV). Does this work?
Is this an error in iOS6 or Mountain Lion? Would appreciate any suggestions for a fix if any one has found one yet.

Same issue here, since I updated my Ipad 1 with IOS 4.3.1... I opened another thread about this issue, but no solution found so far...
Hope someone in Apple will take some time to investigate that...

DVD player in MacBook Pro Not Working

Hey, for some reason after I got the Graphics Chip in my laptop replaced, my DVD player won't read DVDs... Any ideas on how to check if it's broken or maybe if there's an issue with the DVD player program?

Oh, that's what it was? My father had told me it was "the graphics chip", so that's why i was confused. I forgot to mention that the DVD drive makes the start up noises it makes when it goes to read a DVD, but it simply stops trying to read it after a few seconds...

Find the section that applies to your computer, and follow the instructions.
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Can someone please help me.. my pinch zoom in and out in my macbook air isnt working. It happened about 2 weeks ago, in the settings all the zoom preferences are checked so i dont know whats wrong with it. The pinch zoom is the only thing not working, the double tap zoom and all the rest of the capabilities of my trackpad are working properly. I called apple but they couldnt help through the phone and wants me to pay $19.99 for a one time help.. Please help!

I've also noticed that the iPhoto zoom is erratic. Sometimes I try to use the trackpad to zoom, but the image just blurs for a second instead of zooming in.
I experimented a little and found that it helps, when zooming in, to make sure that your two fingers are very close together when starting.

QuickTime player 10.2 does not record audio, mic works in other apps

OS: Mountain lion
QT player: 10.2
Perian and Soundflower are installed.
QT is not recording audio from the computer mic or even a headphone mic, neither for audio or video recording.
QT starts always for recording with the volume down.
The mic works in other apps (skype or garaband).
I am not able to find either the plist files for QT.
I used QT in the past to record audio from the computer mic.
I recently updated the OS from lion to mountain lion.
Any ideas why is not working?

Check if it is a hardware issue. If it is take the MBA to an Apple dealer.
Apple menu / About the Mac / More Info / System Report.
On the left, under Hardware, click on USB. The right side will show the USB Device Tree. Check to verify the camera is listed. Should be called Built-in iSight. If it is not listed, take the computer in for a full diagnosis.
If the camera is listed, click on Launch Pad then click on Photo Booth. Do you see anything?
